Romance / Nigerian Weddings - Love 'em Or Hate 'em? by Abbihh: 10:13am On Apr 13, 2011 |
I got a very interesting enquiry today from a friend following a post on Facebook and decided to write about this. Nigerians love weddings – apart from the day being ‘that day’ for two special people, you get the array of the latest fashion catwalk for ladies and gentlemen, food, drink, music, ‘reunion of families and friends’ and loads of ‘potentials’ (women and men of course) checking themselves out. Now the question is this – does it have to be a ‘Nigerian Wedding’? Click here for more: http://weddingtrendy.com/2010/10/26/nigerian-weddings-%e2%80%93-love-it-or-hate-it/ |

Career / Re: Starting Project Management Training/certification by Abbihh: 5:05pm On Dec 03, 2007 |
Hi everyone! Good to know that folks back home are gearing up towards becoming equipped as their counterparts in the western world. I am thrilled - well done guys! I have been in project management for a while now and I will advice anyone serious about taking their career to the next level to do so. I chose Prince 2 over PMI because it can be easily deployed and in quite practical. I also have a good knowledge of PMI but would advice starters back home to run with Prince 2 first. Besides, applications from the UK are readily deployed in 9ja and it would not be fair to sell a methodology in 9ja just for the sales purpose of it. Again it is up to you guys! If you have access to the internet, do the research before investing in the programmes! Again, DO NOT just go through the training like everyone did during the MSCE rush in the 90s. In whatsoever means, get the practical aspect of Project Management as well. You will be surprised to know that going to the cybercafe to browse itself is a project! Everything we do can be likened to a project - Getting admission to study at the Uni, Planning to get a certification for Project Management, Renting a flat or even simply planing a birthday party are typical examples of Projects that needed to be managed to be successful. I understand the sudden rush to the gold mine but sometimes over here in the UK, employers only want you to have the 'knowledge' of Prince 2 and you will be given a job - as long as you can learn on the job and prove you have the right grey matter up there! I will be honest - I got my first Project Management job without the certification and I am doing well today with the certification. Bottomline folks - if you are interested in becoming a Project Manager - go in there with your heart, mind and a plan to get some bucks pilling up in your bank account not just to get another paper or accreditation to your name. Afterall, a lot of MSCEs out there in 9ja do not know jack about a network :-) All the very best and come along and join the train to success :-) Abbihh |

Romance / Re: How Do You Keep Romance In A Relationship? by Abbihh: 10:40am On Jun 27, 2006 |
Ladies, Hey! If Darkmanzero is a man, listen to him. Not because he is a saint, probably because he thinks the way an average Nigerian (or any other out there for that matter) man thinks and I think he deserves the kudos for being bold and honest about his opinions. Quite matured too!!! If he is not married, I can recommend a babe for him! If he is, let him be celebrated by the menfolks, i beta be careful, Nigeria guys don't like comparism. Anyway, the thing is, (all) women sometimes want this luvy duvvy thingy to go on forever. Well, some guys out there knows how to endlessly and if you are lucky, you can find them or already got them, some guys you have to teach them, some you have to love them the way they are, we call them the NON-ODAs (Open Display of Affection) trust me, no dragon can make a NON-ODA hold your hands in public and yet in his heart, he is just who you want him to be!!! Forget all the macho thing! Every man (and woman) wants to be loved but like Darkmanzero ealier pointed out, what happens when your relationship is at a plateau stage (And it does and will get to that stage trust me!!!) what then is there to hold on to but the depth of your personalities? When you love a man with your heart and can talk to him about anything and everything, you can be a support and not a whimp, when you are self confident and don't use him as a cructh, then you don't have to keep the 'romance' alive with sex. And before you shoot me, sex indeed is wonderful and when the partners know what to do with each other's body, then its bliss. But honestly, what do the two of you do with your grey matter? I have heard of a case a guy left the babe because the only thing she knows how to do is have sex! He was looking out for the inovative part of the woman and found none! Thats a shame for womanhood. Ladies, balance your personalities. Be the bxxxch in the bedroom and the boss in the boardroom; in between, find your common place of making the romance thingy work for you (just sharing a joke that only the 2 of you understand might be it!!!!), otherwise, say the Serenity prayer and love your man jo! Be happy out there! |

Whoooooopsieeeeeeeee! Thats something. Glamrocka, you sound very classy just like bluenubia. The world can do with people like you 2. Balanced indiviudals. Nothing wrong having your own opinions as you have rightly said. Win some, lose some. Nigerian or not, good or bad. There are loads of bad/wonderful music and their videos out there. Some people watch it happen, some make it happen. We all belong in some category or the other. lol |
Music/Radio / Re: Kiss My Money Maker by Abbihh: 3:35pm On Apr 29, 2006 |
I just saw this guy and 2face on myspace.com . They are both doing a gr8 job representing 9ja. My observation? 2face's fans are mainly from 9ja and also growing (on www.myspace.com) . Harri's , from all over the world, thats tells me he is doing something rite!!!! |
Music/Radio / Re: Kiss My Money Maker by Abbihh: 3:08pm On Apr 29, 2006 |
Its a shame you guys are so so unappreciative of our talents. Whc one una don produce?anyone of you worked on your bodies, that is if you eva thot about it. And if you do, muscles dont get toned without hard work. Not surprised though. Every good thing always get critisicms. Keep on bringing it on, he will make more money. I wont call that guy fat. I can sense a twinge of jealousy. |
Career / Re: Do You Really Love Your Job? by Abbihh: 9:07pm On Apr 07, 2006 |
Hey people!, Nice to hear what you all had to say about your jobs. I was thinking the same way most of you guys were until a few days ago. If you really want to do something for yourself, use your brain. I don't mean to sound rough especially on those that aren't happy with what they are doing (don't forget I was thinking the same way until a few days ago). I would recommend you guys to go and get yourself a copy of that book - Rich Dad, Poor Dad. If you can get the audio CD, then do so. Don't work for money. Make your money work for you. I picked up a few tips there and I can tell you, I am not waiting until that BIG break we are all waiting for anymore. I am making it happen. Every day counts. Find a reason why you don't want to be an average person and form a personal program to get out of it. Then stick to it. Its no magic but you will find yourself waking up everyday looking forward to the challenges and opportunities the day holds and also the opportunity to use your mind positively for yourself. You are presently on that job because somebody needed someone more intelligent that they are.So if you think you are better than your boss, you are probably right!!!! Thats the reason you were employed in the first place. But please don't forget that the same way you are thinking of leaving that job, is the same way someone else is praying hard for it. And for those of you that love your job, do the same, make your money work for you, So There! Its all in your hands folks, Use the 'Grey Matter'. All the very best. |
