@smallsmall Thanks, I discarded him immediately and even blocked him on my WhatsApp.I will get in touch with Sadyfact and remember your advice, one good turn deserves another for sure. That is shameful! We even give people DIT experience here, for free, just to assist you start something. Toss him away like a used tissue. Barawo-banza. Once you see people saying contact me privately, for something they can say here and now, be wary of them. Someone like @Sadyfact will assist you. And please do remember those that assist you, if you want to give out a job. A friend in need, is a friend in deed. 3 Likes |

ericko2k2 Just re-read what, you just wrote and re-evaluate the context. If I have a project that I want to contract out and ask for a quotation from 10 people. am I going to pay a token to all 10 of them?ALl established contractors have throughout the years developped a standard mechanism to evaluate cost at almost no cost. @Muyiwaolu I tire for our people oh. Can you imagine someone asking me to pay him first before I even consider giving him business. It is only in Nigeria that contractor's think they are doing you a favour by giving you BoQ or quotation. I remember the last time I went to USA, we went to a store called Costco, they were giving us free samples of different foods to taste just to entice customers to buy their products. And truly, we bought two products after eating the "tasty sample". Now tell me, you are claiming that I need to pay you to promote your work. Do customers pay for advertisements? It is a different thing if you now add the cost of giving quotations to your labour after you must have gotten the contract. Please, our people need to change their approach to doing business. If you provide excellent service to your customer, they will pay your labour and even some extra as gratuity. 5 Likes |

@EgunMogaji2 Anything is possible. It’s based on negotiations. I’ve never been asked nor have I paid for an estimate before. However I always make sure to compensate artisans for taking time out of their day to honor my invite. If the request grinds your gear just go to another artisan. Good luck on your project. Thank you, I was surprised that he ASKED for N5k to give me a quotation. I never experienced it before either, but like you rightly said I am definitely looking for another person. 3 Likes |

@Donwizfit2 no contractor does not charge for quotation but you can show him or give him token for appreciation Thanks for your response. I wasn't expecting him to charge for giving a quotation. Yes, giving something in appreciation is a good gesture which I don't mind. 1 Like |
