Education / Re: Gombe Completes 130 Blocks Of Classrooms Amidst Covid-19 pandemic by abeeceebee: 3:12pm On Apr 16, 2020

Education: Gombe maintains stream as construction of new classroom blocks progresses

Despite the Coronavirus Pandamic which has literally slowed down economies across the world, the Gombe State Government appears determined to complete as many blocks of classrooms as possible before Schools in the State resume back to session.

To this end, the Governor through the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB has in less than one year in office constructed over one hundred and thirty 130 blocks of classrooms across the State.

The blocks of classrooms so far completed and ready for use come in storey buildings with an average of eight classes, offices and convenience.

Some of the Schools that have so far benefited from the Gombe State Government's drive to holistically reposition the education sector include Junior Secondary Schools Malam Inna, Nayinawa, Gelengu, Sangaru and Vocational Training Centre Nafada.

The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board , SUBEB Hon. Babaji Babadidi attributed the successes so far recorded in basic education in the State to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya's commitment towards revamping the sector for optimal productivity.

He said apart from the one hundred and thirty one blocks of classrooms so far completed in various communities across the State, some other forty three blocks of classrooms are at various stages of completion and will soon be ready for use.

Aside from the construction of blocks of classrooms, Governor Inuwa Yahaya has reconstructed the Teachers Training Centre in Kwami.

The Gombe SUBEB chairman said the centre is the first of its kind in the North East region of the Country and will be responsible for teachers training and retraining on modern teaching techniques and methodology.
I think the heading should have read "A BLOCK OF 130 CLASSROOMS" and not 130 BLOCKS OF CLASSROOMS because I can only see one block and not 130 blocks. The heading is misleading.

Celebrities / Re: Georgina Onuoha Reacts To Regina Daniels Marriage To Ned Nwoko by abeeceebee: 10:59pm On Apr 28, 2019
Ayodele70:
U.S. based Nigerian actress, Georgina Onuoha has taken to her Instagram to react to teens actress, Regina Daniels 'marriage' to 59-year-old billionaire, Ned Nwoko.

Her reaction is coming after photos and video of Regina and Ned at an event hit the internet yesterday.

According to Georgina, she made her choice with the endorsement of her mother, and she wishes her happiness even though she will never endorse teen marriage as a parent and mother.

Read below...

"Ok everyone, please stop sending me DMs and tags about this young woman. I don’t know her nor have I met her.
No one has made me a judge over her or her decisions even though my name is Georgina and not Regina. The last time I checked, I did not go to a law school neither was I appointed a judge.
It’s her life, her business and her propagative.
When those before her are busy flaunting private jet and fake plastic ass, most of you did not cry wolf.
She has made her choice with the endorsement of her mother behind her to be a teen bride , so let her be. Most of her senior colleagues are busy sleeping with old politicians, pastors , fly to Dubai to sleep with old wrinkled Arabic men and married men and you all go hail them as slay queens. You endorse bad behavior as hard work.
Islam permits more wives and she has made her choice. While I don’t and will never endorse teen marriage as a parent and mother, I wish her happiness.
In my days, some followed yahoo and 419 boys for extra stretch limousines, where are they today? Some teen brides have go on to make something out of themselves by pursuing academics.
What is morally corrupt is the Nigerian society that celebrates immorality and go agog with it with impunity.
So please, don’t DM me or tag me on such nonsense.
Her life and choice.
I don’t pay her bills and will encourage her to equally pursue education regardless.
So please people address the problems facing our nation and let Regina deal with her private life.
If you dm me again I will block you.
I am not her mother nor judge.
I encourage Pens and not penis for young girls.

Religion / Re: What Happens To Me When I Sleep. Could I Be Haunted? Please Help! by abeeceebee: 6:34pm On Jun 25, 2017
Chemist009:
..... Hello fellows,my name is Shuaibu(not real name),am in my late twenties and am from Edo. So this is my story:

... Everything was going well and I was really at my peak until this happened some 11 years ago(2006 precisely)...... I was at home with my Guardian's wife and one of my cousins at night(around 8pm or so) when suddenly I heard someone call my name at the door and I answered rushing to open the door, only to discover that there was nobody at the door and i was a little terrified. And that ordeal, I can say was the beginning of my mystery.

Later on,I began having series of terrible nightmares that would linger on to become part of my life till this day. Firstly,I would always dream that I want to take something, but my hand will never get to it as i would stretch and stretch-and it was a recurring nightmare that happened on a regular basis. Secondly,I always dreamt that am always being pursued or running and when am running, it's usually at a very very slow rate and this dream too happened all the time. And so for a long sustained period,i had these two nightmares and in most occasions, always in danger.

Fastforward to a few years later and I would notice deterioration in every facet of my life, yet, I would just ignore. Later around 2012, I would gain admission into the University, but I well too realised that I was never the same again..... Before i entered University though, I began having health challenges (chest pain and discomfort) and I inwardly suspected it's a heart problem. So at the University, to cut a long story short, I never got anywhere near my peak and it was always whenever i had it in mind that I wanted to study or exams were around the corner that my chest problem always came, but when free or unoccupied or during holidays, I felt healthy and this was the trend all through my University days.

Again, although it was nightmares pre University, at the university it became somewhat metaphysical and it was in truth worrying. Whenever i slept and wanted to wake up, I always felt as though am being held down and standing up or even shaking becomes impossible and this has continued till this day. In summary, of recent it's either very terrible nightmares or not being able to stand up when awake as a result of being held down-and this mainly happens when am sleeping alone and in most cases when the room is dark.

It's way more mysterious than i presented it, but this is just a Summary of everything. Opinions please cos I feel trapped......

In my humble opinion @ OP you need Christ in your life. Don't feel too big or too proud, find a living church around you and begin to worship there. Surrender your totality on to Christ and join a working department in the church. When you start doing all these you will see that all the evil spirit that are tormenting your life will desist. Don't thank me now but later when you begin to experience the power of the living God through Jesus Christ His son.

Don't mind them my Grand mother is having headache over their behaviours.

My Grand Mother's Igbo tenants will owe money and when he leaves the house he will put another of his brother there without informing the Land Lady (my grand mother) and that one will now be coming to beg and paying his rent in 3-4 installments.
Not only that one, they will also fill the rented apartment with different people who were not indicated in the agreement paper of the rent. Another worst thing about them is when you now ask them to vacate the house due to their bad attitude, you will have to go and register on different mountains for prayer.

Don't mind the OP why will he not mention only Lagos State. You know they have turned Lagos State to their Mecca, where they come, they saw and conquer. I also wonder why they can not stay in their own region that is peaceful but not economically okay. They still find their way to South west where they claimed is not peaceful. Even when Fashola offered them T-fare to peacefully go back to their peaceful region they turned him down.

I'm not a lawyer neither am I vast in knowledge of how our warped and segmented law works, but from what I read above, that means anybody who blaspheme and insult Islam or the Prophet Mohammed are also guilty. It means they've also committed a crime, which is intention of breaching public peace, cos we know how our Muslim brothers act when it has to do with their religion or their prophet.

If you ask me, I'll say Obasi Chinedu is allowing sentiment to cloud his reasoning. A man should be allowed to name his dog whatever name he choose. I see no reason why I should be angry or feel ridiculed if a man name his dog Joseph, rather I'll be flattered and complimented that the man chose to immortalise me by naming his dog after me, because whether he knows it or not, he inadvently just made me the guardian of his life. grin grin grin
i agree with u jare. The Op has failed to realised that many people in this tread are dogs in human skin that is why they fail to see anything wrong in naming ones dog after spmebody who is close to you especially when we are not in western world. Why did accused not name the dog after his wife since he claim he loved the dog or does he love Buhari more than he does his wife?

Nonsense. Men who cheat do it because they have no respect for the marriage institution and no self control. Nagging or any of those things you listed above, save for 7, can never be a reason to cheat if you have the self control to respect what you are in.
I agree with you 100%. SELF-CONTROL is the key word. If a person lacks self control such person is a worthless person and they are the that commit different kind of atrocities, why? Because they lack self-control. It also applies to women, that is when you will see some women going as far as sleeping with another man even their husband's friend all because of money. It all narrow down to SELF-CONTROL.

I also dislike when smtn goes wrong and dey dont want to tell you in details claiming dey dnt want people to panic. You will see them running around while treating ur kin, and dey keep saying its nothing.

When i had my son , on tue second day we were still in tue hospital cos i had him by sectioning, a nurse came in to check on him and suddenly took him out. They put him on the drip and oxygen mask. We were asked not to touch him. Wen we went back fr his bcg nd the matron was telling her colleagues... is this nt the child u wanted us to refer to fmr, he is so healthy and bouncy.

I dnt know up until today, what happened to my son. I asked and asked. All dey say is... its nothing. Dont worry.

Also, they hate wen u seem to know too much. Some patients may be terrible tho... but honestly, a doctor should open up to a patient, and allow d patient to b aware of certain things. Not here in nigeria. Never.
It happened to me recently. My last child (child no 3) was a beatiful baby girl , most beautiful of all the three. Four weeks after she was born, she started loosing weight so I took her to d peadiatric unit of the health center to see d doc. A doc attended to me and after telling him my observation thinking he will diagnose her instead he just prescribed folic acid and vitamin c. After leaving his office I went to d nursing station, it was there I overheard him telling one of d nurses that my baby had down syndrome
Syndrome. On hearing this, I quickly log in to Goole to know what is the meaning of down syndrome. To cut the long story short I lost d baby four weeks after because she also had hole in the heart and she has lost all energy due to hard labour of sucking. If d doctor had told me earlier I would have known how to spoon feed her till God takes control of the situation. Nigerian doctors! Even though this one is supposed to be more experience being a government employed doctor.
