My first experience of egg distribution. I budget to buy 50crates from the depot, on getting there, i ended up getting 20crates of unsorted eggs for 700 each. After sorting, found out their eggs are too small, to what the market demands. Ended up selling a large part of it for 750. And the smallest for 700. And had more than half a crate as breakage. Bottom line, my first encounter was not favourable. Cos transport alone ate d profit.
Oga Blackie, pls do u have anywhere i can get big sizes of eggs in Lagos? Probably from you or any of the farms you deal with? Cos i dont want to be discouraged by my first encounter.
Thank You sir.

Th
Blackkie:
A brief one on one on egg distribution would have get you started better.
However, you will learn how to carry crates now. Just get three or four different sizes of crate from your preferred farm and let your intending clients have a fair view of what you have.
Secondly, have a good look at what each client sells - thats the sizes he/she displayed before making your own offer. You may not have a uniform size and offer rate, just see what they have and configure what you are offering to be at par or above whats on their shelf.
Offer rates now are volatile. I nearly ran out control this evening when a lady was bargaining with me. I do not know how some distributors source their eggs resulting in slash of offer rates.
Thank you sir. My preferred farm at the moment only have unsorted eggs for sale. They dont sort their eggs, and this will be the first time i will be dealing with them. What is the price of your sorted eggs at the moment if i will be buying from you sir? Thanks

During the course of doing my marketing of the egg supplying to new customers, majority of the people i approach said they would like to see the goods they want to buy. How do i go about this? Is it advisable i proceed to the farm to purchase? Then proceed to meet them afterwards. Oga Blackkie please enlighten me. Thanks
