Politics / Re: Presidency Reaches Out To Amaechi, Nyako, Others by abuc: 2:44pm On Nov 28, 2013
I doubt this report by The Nation. Amaechi and Nyako are currently members of APC. Of what need will the President reach out to them again? PDP National Leadership and the President strategically shifted the meeting from last sunday due to the intelligence report they receive about the merger move. They wanted to know who will defect and those that will remain.

Let me make it clear here: Aliyu, Lamido, Oyinlola, Segun Oni and others will never join APC. Imagine Oyinlola allowing Ogbeni to control the party in his state and Segun Oni allowing Fayemi to become his Party Leader at Ekiti. One thing you guys don't understand is the imminent fight for power within APC that will emerge within the next 10 months. Most of the power players are too egocentric and will likely want to ferment trouble. Just be watching what will happen between Kwankwaso and Shekarau in Kano next year.

I just hope the National leadership of APC will be able to prevail on some of their key power players...

Politics / Re: FG Directs Federal Universities To Re-Open Immediately by abuc: 12:09pm On Nov 28, 2013
ASUU has over stressed their luck. They should have resolve the strike issue a week ago. Its very funny for them to be making new demands instead of calling off the strike. Now some universities have resume which I think is a big slap on ASUU face. Just 2 days ago, Pro-Chancellors demanded lecturers and students to resume. ASUU is gradually moving towards a state of personal destruction. FG may divide them and make the Union ineffective as they did to Governors Forum. They should peacefully accept FG Negotiations since they have promised to yield to some of their demands. I honestly want ASUU to remain united in order to always pressurize any seating Government to take care of our Instituions in order to meet Global Standard and compete with Global institutions.

On a serious note, which Government have really accepted 100% demand in any negotiation? I have not seen such, though I stand to be corrected. In every negotiation, both side need to shift some ground for it to work or its no longer negotiation. The students are the ones suffering all these gamble and chess game. Lecturers are also demanding for 5 months salary arrears they did not work for. Please what will be the direct benefit of these students that have wasted over 5 months doing nothing rather be on facebook, twitter, nairaland and newspaper stands arguing about Man City and Chelsea. Will the demand also help Lecturers to stop stealing other people work on the Internet and then resell to students as Course Materials? The Universities must resume next week or else, all the lecturers will be sack... That is my final resolution

Unblockable:
NAN reports that Edo governor, Adams Oshiomhole of APC, was also at the Presidential Villa shortly after the announcement of the merger.

The governor, who did not spent up to 30 minutes in the Villa, declined to speak with the newsmen. (NAN
)

I've been watching Governor Oshiomhole since 2011 during the Presidential campaign. He personally ask Edo people to vote ACN candidates for National and State Assembly offices but requested they vote for Goodluck Jonathan during the presidential election. I was very amazed with such move. He avoided campaigning with Nuhu Ribadu and was persuaded by Fashola for a group photograph with Nuhu Ribiadu during his presidential campaign flag off event in Lagos.

Though I've always known that GEJ and Oshiomhole are very close to the extent that GEJ had a minor issue with Anenih over his decision to secretly support Oshiomhole second term bid which Anenih was against. GEJ has more to gain from Oshiomhole.

Adams Oshiomhole always negotiate with Labour leaders on behalf of the Federal Government. I'm not saying Oshiomhole will defect to PDP but the likelihood of him joining Labour Party is very high. I'm just observing. I may be wrong but in politics, anything can happen...

I always try my best to analyze Nigeria Political game without being bias. After a huge celebration yesterday about G7 Governors defecting to APC, its now known that only 4 Governors (Kano, Rivers, Kwara and Adamawa) actually ported to APC grin. Which confirm my prediction on November 21 here on nairaland that 3 of the G7 Governors will never join APC. Politics is a Game and very dynamic. As it stand, PDP still has upper hand. Atiku defected to ACN for his Presidential Ambition and ported back after failing woefully during the presidential election. What is the Guarantee that these 4 Governors and their followers will not port back to PDP?

Its a welcome development. We need 2 strong political parties for the general benefit of the masses. Its either they deliver on their promises or get kicked out after 4 years. And for PDP, its easier to fight a war outside than within. The political scientists in PDP will start planning and executing more strategies in the next 10 months. But It would have been wise for G7 Governors to cause more trouble within and defect 6 months to election.

The fact is, PDP will still win the Presidential Election in 2015 but will loose more states and members of the National Assembly. I'm not a politician but I believe in reality. GEJ will win the 2015 Presidential race with tough opposition but these guys (PDP) know how to win Elections. I'm still wondering how they got such votes in Ondo and Anambra State Governorship elections respectively.

Congrat to APc
Congrat to Nigeria

At least the palava between G7 Governors and PDP National Leadership will die for now. Both parties should better compete by delivering dividend of democracy to the populace or else, pay for it in 2015.

Sports / Job Offers Flood In For Keshi by abuc: 10:49am On Nov 15, 2013
Super Eagles manager Stephen Keshi will not be easily prized away from his current job, despite a troubled relationship with his current boss.
Until recently, the former Super Eagles captain worked for over seven months without pay, after guiding his side to the Africa Cup Nations (AFCON) title in February.

As expected, potential suitors jumped at the opportunity to make offers with substantial financial rewards, but Keshi remains insistent on staying put due to his love for his homeland.

“It is the love that I have for my country that has kept me in this place ever since,” Keshi said to SuperSport when asked why he is putting up with ill-treatment from the Nigerian FA.

“I go outside into the shops and markets and ordinary Nigerians in the streets are thanking me and asking God to continue to bless me. It humbles me. It makes me realise the responsibilities I have to these people and I keep at the job.

“I also have a fantastic group of young footballers, who I sincerely do not want to abandon at this moment.”
He added: “I have four offers on the table for me that will triple my wages but because of the reasons I have given I have told those offers to please go elsewhere.

“Where else in this world do you hear or read of a successful team having their bonuses slashed? When one thinks about it like that it shows how incongruous the whole thing looks really.”

According to our constitution, GEJ has the right to seek reelection in 2015. Its either He want to seek reelection or

Haram, MEND, OPC, MASSOB, Corruption in high places, Ombatse, Oil Barons or Electric Power Cartels that chased away Nnaji from the ministry of Power.

I'm actually feeling for Governor Chime. The report that he lock up his wife is false and was executed according to plan.
Little wonder Falana have to petition Human Rights Commission few days the report was publish by Sahara Reporters. It was a deal well executed.

From all indication's, Clara Chime has some health challenges and no good husband will allow her wife with some Health challenges that could attract mockery to the family roam about and make known to the world her health status. Not to talk about the first lady of a state. I had information from Insiders that claim Clara mother actually contacted Falana.

In reality, Clara movement was restricted due to her health challenges and her family especially her mum did not like the idea. According to Chime, both Families will soon meet and discuss the way forward. This is a family issue and will only be settled as such. No intruder will be accepted.

Nigerians with political contact and those working in the oil and gas Industries are
actually Billionaires in US dollars. They are not interested in making Forbes list to

They rather build their private Presidential Palace in Banana Island or Dubai and enjoy their

This is international politics which is beyond the understanding of children. Guinea-Bissau have to

I have been able to develop my myself in order to read news with an Open mind. Mr. Callistus Ilozumba spoke on behalf of Peter Obi and it will be assume the Governor instructed him to make such statement. Anyway, I will be waiting for the Governor office to denounce this report within the next 72 hours. Its a dangerous statement and can work against the Governor and His Political Party in Anambra. Catholic are never in Majority in Anambra.

Slizbeat: Anambra is 90% Catholics and going by this, we can say that it is a Catholic State..

Sorry, your perception is wrong. Can you back up your claim with any proof? Anambra State is never 90% Catholics. The State is divided along Anglican and Catholic Faithfuls. With the influx of New Generation Churches like Lord Chosen, Redeem, TREM, Mountain of Fire e.t.c, Catholics alone can't determine the winner of the Governorship race. Catholics faithfuls in Anambra can't be above 30%, they are loosing their youths to new generation churches. I'm writing from my personal experience and wide contacts in Anambra State.

Anyway, I think the commissioner was in the midst of Catholics Faithful and needed to solicit their votes. But the statement is very wrong and I need clarification from the Governor office or else, he will pay for it politically.
Politics / Re: The Problem With Having Kwankwaso In Apc- House Rep Kawu by abuc: 2:45pm On Nov 09, 2013
APC must develop a good strategy to resolve issues like this. When a political party start getting bigger, there will always be power tussle on who should control a particular political structure or domain. That is what is happening in PDP, its all about fight over who should control the PDP political structure. PDP strategically deleted OBJ influence at the National Level and also handed over their structure in State like Rivers and Adamawa from the State Governor's. This is the main reason why Amaechi and Nyako are crying about, insisting they will destroy a party they no longer have any influence on.

Mallam Shekarau’s deserve to be informed about the visit by APC Leaders. Though it could be that APC leaders wanted to take him unaware and persuade him to accompany them to Kano Government house but as it stand, the plan failed. That Malam Shekarau’s is no longer the State Governor does not mean he does not have political influence in Kano. The Rep member have said all, Kano is not like Lagos or Anambra. They have their own political orientation and that must be respected.

I do not belong to any political party but Nigeria will be better with 2 strong Political parties fighting for power. You will ether sit up or be push away in the next election.

A commendable move by Hon Abdullahi Mahuta. Some politicians will not give a damn. They will simply ask themselves if they should be blame for someone poverty without knowing that their action have contributed either directly or indirectly to the level of poverty in the Country.

I will also demand Hon Abdullahi Mahuta to start sponsoring a bill that will make it mandatory for pupils in public school to have a school sandal provided by the Government. Other States will follow this initiative. Such move will never be in the agenda of our greedy politicians while they keep on spending our resources on things that don't add value to the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
