Good Afternoon VO.
Please I have a concern. I have a pending immigrant Visa petition with NVC . My dad is a USC but I intend going for my M.SC in the US. I have an admission in a different state outside d one he resides n my intention of entering the US is solely for studying but I have a challenge. My dad is my sponsor and he is based in the US and I hear about strong ties to home country. I am perplexed abt this. Could I still apply despite this? Gratitude.

I might be sending this late but I just had to. I want to say a very big thank you. This avenue has really bridged the gap btw Nigerians and what the American immigration system/policy expect from individuals. We have learned and am sure you have also, and so has the consulate gathered new info. God bless you and I ask the personnel who gave the approval for this to start not to allow this good work go down d drain. Am sure my fellow nairalanders will agree that the consulate continues its good work and present a replacement soon. I salute you ma'am. Enjoy ur new assignment.

Good Day Madam, I hope the workload in DC isn't much on you. Please I need more clarity on this issue of birth certificate. My birth certificate is from the Lagos Mainland registry of Births and deaths and it was from the 80's. It includes my name, my parents name and the date of birth. Will this not be accepted by the consulate? Or do I still need to go through National population commission? Am a bit confuse what you mean by government office as Lagos Mainland registry of birth n deaths is a government institution. Please throw more light. Gracais.

There is nothing in my spam, and I finished with a 2.1. Except they wanna tell me its about my age of which they saw that before sending me the initial successful mail. And come to think of it, even if someone finished with a 2.2, why was the person sent a success mail initially? It shows a very high level of incompetence and disorganization. SMH.

Hahaha. Naaa, I believe in the words/law of wisdom n health. Hence I don't do alcohol nor caffeine. Thanks maam, I will communicate same to my friend. Just as u advised me sometime back to write USCIS asking for an extension which worked for me, I could tell him to do same, so they are in d picture of what's happening or do u think otherwise? Have a blessed day. God bless.

I had to take lots of beverage to understand this. Its clearer now though. So no spill overs from previous years. One more question please, a friend wants to know what happens if a USCIS RFE is submitted 2days after the deadline? What's your take on this?

Good Evening Madam, I need your clarification on this,is it true that just over about 220,000 immigrant visas are issued worldwide annually?
Secondly, each country takes about 7percent annually(excluding china, mexico, india and Philippines)which is roughly over 15,000 Visas meant to be issued, what happens to the rest if the 15,000 visas are not issued, is there a roll over to the next fiscal year which should in turn reduce the waiting time?
Lastly, of the 7percent issued to each country, does this include employment based immigrant Visas? Just seeking understanding on what all this figures mean.
Best Regards.

Wow, just read through the thread. If your initials are DELETED then it was you I saw. it but will keep it to myself xcept u want the house to know. But truth be told, you have done a whole lot enlightening people and making us know the immigration policies of the united states.
A quick one pls, are we to expect longer wait for priority dates to be current as a result of the new immigration law that was passed by president Obama or everything stays normal? Really missing my family but this seems like a whole long wait before my case is current.

VO, It's quite unfortunate that you are leaving but I am sure your work ethics, experience, dedication and your relationship with applicants before this assignment has gotten you thus far. I have no doubt that I have seen you during the DNA session this month probably supervising the medical personnel and the way you related with people was very good.( You use glasses as you found it difficult picking some small font words).I HOPE IT WAS YOU. Well, the lady I saw that day was very accommodating and I am sure your next assignment will be better than what you have now. I pray thee to bless you and continue to grant you patience. ( Wish all consular officers were patient). All the best in your next assignment and I hope you won't stop visiting Nigeria. God bless.

Good day everyone, please who has an idea to answering this issue? If an applicant applied while he was 28yrs and he/she turned 29yrs before the candidates are been contacted since the age limit is 28yrs, does his/her new age make her ineligible for selection? Since the organization didn't state applicant must not be more than 28yrs by december 2015 or so. Opinions will be appreciated. Cheers.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Access Bank 10 Minutes Recruitment by Aburoy(m): 11:49pm On Jun 12, 2015
If the graduate trainee opening had age restriction, am sure access bank would be happy to include that in their advert which will in turn reduce the number of applicants but this was not the case. I applied and was shortlisted. 28yrs, no prior banking experience but i have over 2yrs post NYSC experience in other field. Hence i dont think age is a factor. you can never tell what the criteria for selection is/was. Just put in your application, hope and pray for the best.

A Happy Sunday to you VO, what are the chances that after presenting pictures of petitioner and myself, in this case my father, baptismal, school records, birth certificate showing the same name and a DNA test showing a 99.9percent positive match with my father and earnings of above the minimum $20,000 annually. what are the chances that a visa is likely to be issued. God bless. Enjoy your weekend.

wine4dguy:
hi friends please I have some irregularities in my waec certificate age so does anybody know how the bristow people confirm the birth age so I can know my stand ...thanks
they will probably request for your birth certificate not age declaration. I believe you must have attached that as one of your documents. What I attached was simply my resume, waec and birth certificate. Just my opinion though.

Thanks a bunch madam. We did receive a mail rescheduling for the DNA. Its sometime in july which is a long time but its better than not having a date at all. Please I have this question to ask. When coming for the DNA test, can my granny come with her permanent voters card as a source of identification as she does not have an international passport.
Best regards.

Nagode. I really do appreciate your response.
Please, I will like to know how long it takes to schedule a DNA sample collection for a USCIS case because its 3weeks now the kits arrived the consulate yet no word. I emailed lagosiv and the response I got sounded like the consulate is not aware of the kits meanwhile after tracking, I found out it was signed by someone probably in the mail room(name withheld). I wish I could give the receipt numbers here but I don't feel comfy doing it since this is not official and I know its a process thing. Madam, as you promised looking into all DNA kits received in your absence and speeding it up. Will appreciate your effort. My fear is I am due out of the country in the coming weeks and it won't be nice if I can't plan my schedule. I wish I had a date to hold on to. cheers and God bless. Enjoy your weekend.

Good Morning Madam,
I must say am very impressed with your work ethics. Despite been on vacation/leave, you still attend to messages from Nigerians, I pray it helps in your appraisal.
Madam, please its almost 2weeks mine and Siblings DNA kits reached the American embassy but I am yet to receive a call or mail for an appointment. What do u advise I do? Send an email to the embassy? If yes, what should be the content of the mail? Or should I still give more time considering the deadline issued by USCIS is drawing closer with each ticking seconds. Will appreciate your swift response. God bless.

VisaOfficer:

Right now F1 petitions filed on or before August 1, 2007, are eligible to be scheduled for interviews.

Thanks i appreciate. 2007 is a very long backlog of people angry. Before i can reunite with my family permanently, i can as well go for my masters degree and PHD elsewhere outside the US cos from what i have read so far i might not get into the US as long as an I-130 petition has be filed undecided.

Good evening Madam,
Hope your day was stress free. please i want to know what the waiting time for F1 visa is like. USCIS approved my sister's i-130 not mine, though we were filed for at the same time and her priority date is february 2014. She got an approval probably because USCIS has a copy of her DNA result of some years back when she was a minor. Please we would like to know what the waiting time for an F1 visa is. Thanking in anticipation.

Good Evening madam,
My dad filed an i-130 for myself and siblings but USCIS demanded for a DNA test. My dad has done his and the laboratory in the US sent the DNA kits to the embassy and the tracking says it was received over the weekend. I will like to know how long does it take the embassy to schedule the beneficiary for DNA test with a panel physician and what we need to come with when coming for the DNA test. Thanking in anticipation.
