Sagamite:

My understanding is that those being arrested and being asked to pay back are those that obtained loans through suspected fraudulent means. Or is that wrong?

So you no sabi de matter? Dem no talk 'fraudulent means', nah 'non performing' dem talk. I don check your signature, mek you use common sense first before you dey pursue facts with intellectuals and arm chair critics!

During consolidation, Bank of the North owed N43 billion, Soludo allowed debt cancellation to allow BON merge into the UNITY bank group.

-UNITY bank has not published its account since consolidation !!
-UNITY bank and has more non-performing loans than any other bank in Nigeria.
-UNITY bank was bailed out to the tune of N70bn, yet their MD was not sacked.

Sanusi why have you ignored UNITY bank?

Sanusi, who spoke at a meeting of central bankers in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), said: “I would rather have those banks valued properly and purchased by other banks.”

Politics / Re: Why Is The Federal Govt Killing Tinapa? by ACHOJAH: 9:17pm On Jul 24, 2009
Let us assume that the NL critics of Tinapa are right and more versed in financial and strategic matters than KPMG, Vetiver and all the Banks in Nigeria & South Africa that invested in the project. Please share your uncommon wisdom.

Rather than telling us 'it wasn't planned well', please be specific about the failing so we can all learn something.
Was the failure in:
Legal /Regulatory Framework.
Finance and Investment
Construction Project Management.
Logistics
Content & Facilities Management
Site location &Tourist attraction

Better still, do something different on NL, offer ideas that can help rescue the situation.

Politics / Re: David Ejoor's View About The Civil War by ACHOJAH: 11:09pm On Jun 13, 2009
The truth, they say is stranger than fiction.
There can be no justification for the genocide of the Ibos in the north. Absolutely none.
The question I ask myself is what does Ejoor have to gain by "telling lies" at this late hour and why hasn't Ojukwu come back with a rebuttal.

All this abuse of Ejoor does not detract from the evidence that the Ibo Officers agitated for coups. This point is totally separate from unelected elite army officers representing the will or acting in the best interest of the Igbo people.
