Obatide:

I concord with previous answers from the trio of Madu77, Odewenwa & Baba ajala, they are saying the same thing but from different point of view and scneario.
In addition, lets check the rule at http://travel.state.gov/pdf/DV_2014_Instructions.pdf, it says and I quote
'To enter the DV program, you must meet either the education or work experience requirement of the
DV program: you must have either a high school education or its equivalent, defined as successful
completion of a 12-year course of elementary and secondary education
;'

Relevance of Subjects in this high school education can be explained further with this post below(take note of Bolded):

In view of the above, I will advice you go with both results.

They understand some facts beyond what you can immagine, before they ask you any question, they pcyche you first, your response will determine the next question (I will explain more on this if you can tell us the year of the said exam and your marrital status)
As I re-echoed in my testimony about documentations, pls bother less about the CN for now, God who has make u selected will complete the Job, the fiscal year will end by Sept. 2014, which implies you still have 9 good months, dont be caught unaware if bulletin is increasing in Geometric rate as from next year and I bet people will come here to say that bulletin is too fast very soon. So, its an opportunity you have now to get your documents and enough money for process, Flight, other Logistics and expenditure before you secure Job in the state.
Hope it helps as im Wishing you all the best

I have achieved so many things here on this thread and even i av printed out so many information ranging from where to get NPC and Affidavit format letter, so many successful interview, advice, and many more info..... I read all everyday...... BUT I AV A QUESTION which i no OBATIDE and other gurus can answer

THE FIRST RESPONDS (MADU77) says

My dear since you did not have maths in the ssce, it will be wise you combine the waec. The rule is that you must have secondary education with 5credits english and maths inclusive at maximum of 2 sittings. You are good to go with a combination of two certificates.
On being current, my dear relax, just pray and start preparing for your interview; the visa will not finish. For you to be selected they have a visa for you.
Bravo! I have I have spoken well on your questions.... (Me.. I reallly appreciate wat u said u gave me lot of hopee.. thanks so much..

NOW ANOTHER RESPONDS FROM (ODEWENWA)

I doubt it if maths and English esp maths is compulsory o the rule says minimum of five credits it dint mention maths and English.... (Me.. thanks tooo... but am a bit confuse now cos d 2 responds conflict each other.. Pls more comment plssss

(My major concern is because I have B3 in my second exam (GCE) in Maths... and it is a runs, cos i don't no maths at all.. so in case if d CO should see dat i av B3 in it, and now ask me question on it or even use it against me.. Please responds pls

Obatide: I came across these tips for succesful interview and feel it could help some of us,
kindly discuss to have it edited, addition or subtraction

Tips for interview
1. Wear formal clothes as if for a formal business meeting. The interviewing officer will always be an American (the interpreter if required may be local). If possible the man should wear a tie. Americans always appreciate formal attire, so they will not find you over-dressed if you wear a tie.
2. Arrive early. You don't want to miss your interview just because you got stuck in traffic.
3. Do not get nervous. Be confident. You will be more confident if you have prepared thoroughly. Smile when you meet the visa officer for the first time. Don't show signs of nervousness such as flickering of eyes, trembling of fingers as that could go against you. Look into the eyes of the officer while speaking.
4. Both candidates should greet the officer with a smile and a "good morning", as soon as you enter the interview booth.
5. Both candidates should have a confident posture and look at the interviewing officer straight in the eyes throughout the interview.
6. Be confident in your answers, whatever you say. Make short, clear, to-the-point replies, in a loud and clear voice. Do not tell anything that is irrelevant or not asked. By mistake, you may give some unnecessary information that may lead to your rejection.
7. Be polite, do not argue and do not ask unnecessary or unrelated questions. Do not unnecessarily elaborate your responses as this may not work in your favor.
8. Demonstrate respect in your language even if you don't feel this is being reciprocated.
9. Often times you might not understand what the interviewing officer is saying because of his/her American accent and/or the microphone system. If you do not understand one of their sentences do not feel afraid to say, 'beg your pardon; I did not understand you.' If he/she repeats the question and you still do not understand, that is not a problem, do not panic. Calmly and confidently say, sorry sir/madam. I still did not understand you. Could you kindly repeat what you said?
10. If you know English, it is preferable to have the interview in the English so that you and consular officer can understand the each other. Interpreters mess up sometimes.

Wishing everybody due for interview all the best

@Obatide.. dis is a perfect Info.. thanks so much.. it will definitely help lots waiting for 2ndNL and also those going for Interview.... Most especially d one u said looking into the CO straight in their eye.. dats will shows dat u are saying the truth.. is part of foreign Etiquette... Looking into their eye will show to them dat u are telling the truth, on like in Africa (I.e in our land here in 9ja wen u talking to an elderly man u don't look into dere eye, it shows u disrespect them). I grab a lot from dis ur info.. av not received my 2NL base on my CN (000165**) but am overwhelmed with confidence to face them now... The VISA is ours in d mighty name of God (Amen)

candytos:

Adeboy007,
While waiting for ur 2NL, I advise u to read the DV2013 and DV2014 forum from beginning to the end, they are loaded with all the information you need to prepare and have a successful interview. Every question that can come to ur mind and every obstacle and doubts that you might experience have been treated in these two fora. Like I told u earlier I found out I was selected a year and one month after the result came out and I was fretting and did a lot of research on the net, there are many fora and blogs on the net on visa lottery, believe you me none can beat this ones on Nairaland as it thrives on love, practical experience and it is down to earth. Its like having an expose before your exam, you cannot fail unless you be mumu (sorry but that is the way I see it).

Am not a failure Neither am a MUMU..... thanks either....

ukemeglitter: @ Adeboy007,

I actually posted this because of you, so I want to hear you say something!

What I'll like to tell you is that cases like this sometimes does not always need prediction cos anything good can happen, i.e bulletin can increased by 2000, 2500, 3000 and so on by God's grace.

Consider this:
Bulletin for April (2013 DV Winners) was 14,500
Bulletin for May (2013 DV Winners) was 17,000
Bulletin for June (2013 DV Winners) was 17,000
Bulletin for July (2013 DV Winners) was 17,775

What you need to do is always pray and relax your mind about it and before you know it, the 2NL is right there with you.

Hope it helps!
I really appreciate the info u passed to me @ ukemegliter.. God will reward u and everyone in d house abundantly.. so now i no how to check the Bullettin and hopefully i should be xpecting My 2ndNL probably April or May.. Thanks guys.. we are all gonna make it dere Insha Allah

ukemeglitter: Hello,

You don't have to worry yourself on anything. The bulletin for Nigeria has been slow, but there is absolutely nothing to worry about cos its yours already, so don't be anxious or desperate.

What I can say about this is always follow the bulletin @ http://travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_1360.html so you can know when your case is current.

I really appreciate ur info. now am at ease level, what scared me before was dat, av seen some Nigerians here in dis forum talking bout 2NL and yet i av not receive mine.. but now am cool since its based on case, mine is 165**.. and it seems they are still in 8,000 from the Bullettin as at November/Dec..we are all going to make it dere... in d mighty name of God. but who knows when i will be current and probably receive my 2NL.. Thanks

I really appreciate ur comment and i av hope now.. but the problem am having is dat i don't really no how to study the Bulletin at all its confusing me and i will be glad if i can check it on my own.

komakan: In addition. You have to be Current before 2nl will be sent to you. Now, cut-off for December visa bulletin is 8000 and you are 16xxx. Keep following monthly visa bulletin and this thread. Goodluck!

Case Number : 2014AF00016*** (Nigeria)

I have been selected for further processing for DV lottery 2014, and I have sent a Form (DS-230 Part 1 & 2 and DSP-122) since 1st week of June 2013 to Kentucky Consular Center's Address.

However, I have NOT receive any 2nd Notification Letter. If I Mail KCC about my case, they keep on shifting the Month each time the month is getting closer to the month they previous sent. For Example.. I av been mailing KCC since July 2013 bout when i will recive my 2NL and they keep on sending dis (KCC is currently scheduling visa numbers for your region for the month of October) they shifted it again to November, they shifted it again to December, and now January,..)

Please, I will like if the Admin or anyone on these site can possible tell me when i will receive my 2NL, when to be current for Interview.
Am really scared as av not receive any 2NL since and many Nigerian's av been scheduled for Interview. My Case Number is 2014AF00016***
