Very normal Mama. Your baby is doing great!
sheycrown:
Hi moms, my baby is 3 weeks old today & on EBF . She poops a lot in a day. I noticed she poops after breastfeeding (may not be immediately though) & it's yellow egusi like poo. She also acts uncomfortable when trying to pass the poop

Is this normal MAs...... I'm a first time mum.

Mamas I hail you all.
Just dropping this on a lighter note.

Please mama read well and get enough knowledge on card of babies. More importantly, study your child well before applying general principles you read online because children differ in virtually everything.

I remember women in my church telling me to back my baby anytime I carry her. They're like 'back this girl na', ' ur hand will soon start aching you',...etc. Me that I've decided to back her only when she clocks 2 months, not because it's a law but because I felt she was still small. ( Others back theirs from day 1, others don't even back at all..whatever works for you mum).
So when I started backing her, people started saying.."ah, don't let her get used to back oo'. Really. Some even say don't let her get used to carrying and I'm like should I watch her while crying or in discomfort just because I don't want her to get used to hand carrying.
My mamas, please people will advise you but at the end of the day, it's you and your baby.
Do what works for you, read about medical advice and run it through your trusted doctor before implementation. People will always talk.. especially women who feel they're experienced in childcare. Be careful who you leave your baby with. You and your baby will be just fine and alright!!!
You're doing a great job mama. Well done!

Don't force it mama.
I don't think formula is compulsory after EBF. Give your baby solids and fruits in puree form. If you must add milk, add breat.milk.
I stand to be corrected.
nikkyshyne:
Please help me before I open shop. Done with exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months 2 weeks ago. My baby refused formula.
I have tried every methods. Even mix a little quantity with breast milk, my baby stil recognises the difference. What on earth am I gonna do cry

Is this discharge like mucus? Are you breastfeeding exclusively? If your answers are yes, please stop the eye drops. It will go on its own before your baby clicks 2 months. My baby had it too and I was very worried but I was told my brest milk contains all antibiotics needs to heal. Just brestfeed well and he'll be fine.
Yummymum33:
Good day mummies, please i need your advice. What can i put in my baby's teary eyes. They seem to have this yellowish discharge that dries up and makes it difficult for him to open his eyes. He is 2weeks old. They gave is an eyedrop from the hospital which i have been using but someone said he too young for eyedrop that i shlold try breastmilk.
Please what do you guys think.

Merry Christmas to y'all.

Please mamas, how do you manage your brea.st milk from leaking when you're not breastfeeding and when you are.
I've tried disposable and washable brea.st pads but they still get soaked and stain my dress.
This can be really embarrassing when one is outdoors.
Kindly help with suggestions (Asides expressing).
Thanks.

Congratulations!
1. Your baby will suck the milk out. Just keep the breast in his mouth let him keep sucking. The milk will come out eventually...provided your nipple is protuded enough for him to grasp with his mouth. If not, pls massage your nipples and gently pull them out or allow Oga to help you with it.
2. I really don't know. I used Johnson's and noticed my baby was getting rashes so I stopped and started using a local soap and cream. Works well for her. So I advice you try and observe closely. Babies skin and reactions differ.

3. I also need answers to this oo..but so far,I guess the sit baths and disinfectant is your best bet.
Deeedeee:
Good afternoon beautiful mummies in the house.
I am new here. Accept me with your beautiful soul and kind heart.

I av got some questions to ask. Pls kindly respond MAs.

1. My breast milk isn't lactating well enough and my 4 day old baby is refusing to suck when I try breastfeeding him. Pls mummies, what can I do ma'am?
Although, the hospital has told me to start giving him nan1 for the main time. So I started yesterday night.
Meanwhile hot amala, ogi, tea are now my major food + my mum mob my breast with hot water morning and night.

2. Is agnesia baby bathing soap good for babies, kindly give review

3. I had a very tiny tear during child delivery which was stitched, how do I care for it to fast track the healing process apart from sitting on disinfected hot water sitz bath

Pls mummies kindly respond ma'am. I am a ftm. Delivered on 14/12/2020.
God bless u as u respond mas.

This is the same with us, my baby girl is also 4weeks old and her eyes are yellow, a jundice test was done after her birth and the paediatrician said there was no jundice. What else could be the cause?

When the baby is asleep..you can use a razor or a nail cutter
Just use nail cutter to be on the safe side because baby cań shake suddenly from sleep and you might lose control and cut him/her mistakenly.

Thank you so much.
amSteph:

2weeks old u say?
1. They have rashes that looking like multiple tiny pimple on the face especially, that would clear on its own, it’s due to the hormones encountered while in the womb. If it’s heat rash, dress her according to the weather. A layer extra of what you would wear during any weather.
2. Don’t know if any.
3. At 2weeks old, it’s just eat and sleep. Activity should start at 2months plus. Just go with her flow basically.
4. Very normal. Just trying to figure out how to get the poo out. During bath, drop water on her clit to help her poo and pee instinctively.
5. Any natural cream that won’t cause her heat. Better still, just leave her skin be sef. Original Vaseline, Johnson, ori if u must. Nothing like toning.
6. Breast milk if perfect at all times. It’s constitution is just perfect as it is for DD. Note that there’s FORE and HIND milk in the breast. The first that comes when sucking is FOREmilk composed of mostly water. This is why exclusively fed babies don’t require water again. After they have suckled this high water composition foremilk, the hindmilk composed of the main rich milk comes afterward. Therefore, ensure u let her suckle on one breast for a considerable during each feed. Changing breast during one Feed might end up giving her only the water based foremilk.
5. Feed according to her demand. At most 2-3hrs interval.

Hello Mums in the house.
My baby is 2 wks and I have the following questions;
1) How do I clear rashes on her skin? I stopped using Johnson's products cos I figured it caused it.
2) is there any cream or ointment I can use in addition to hot water/steam massage t make my v. Stitches heal faster?the pain is not from here oo
3) how long does it take for babies to start responding or reacting to gestures like smiling and playing cos she doesn't. She just keeps looking at you.
4) is it normal for them to strain before they poo?
5) what creams are advisable to use on them?
6) i noticed my bre.ast milk is watery. Is it good for the baby?
Sometimes, one bre.ast milk is watery and the other one is thick. Pls what does this mean?
7) She doesn't suck for more than 10-15 mins and doses off. Should I be worried?

Thank you for your anticipated responses.
