Politics / 10 Powerful Leadership Qualities Of Honourable Prince Olaide Akinremi by ADEKUNLE475: 11:29am On Nov 27, 2021
In life, a good leader requires strong set of leadership qualities to enable positive interaction with their team members, political members, associates, constituents and others.

Behavioral theories suggest that some leadership skills may not be inborn but can be learnt. People can acquire leadership qualities through training and learning the skills overtime.

The most important qualities of a good leader include communication, integrity, accountability, humility, resilience, vision, influence and positivity.

There are divine qualities that makes a great leader irrespective of what leadership means to you and it is undeniable fact that certain people can greatly influence the lives of others in their community based on their mission, experience and insights.

Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi is indeed a born leader and a man who has wide-range of leadership skills acquired from corporate, private and government organizations.

There are certain characteristics, traits, and skills that ultimately build the most effective leaders and here are some interesting leadership qualities possessed by Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi "Jagaban" that other prospective leaders can take a cue from:

1* Communication
2* Integrity
3* Accountability
4* Empathy
5* Humility
6* Resilience
7* Vision
8* Influence
9* Positivity
10*Delegation

1. Communication:
As a matter of necessity, a leader must have a good communication skills. Honourable Prince Olaide Akinremi is rare leader with a top-notch communication skill, especially when it comes to addressing his people. For him, what makes communication effective is mastering the art of Listening. Right up there with empathy, the only way to get people to follow you is to make them feel heard. This is just one of the reasons why his disciples label him a reliable leader and "Omoluabi Pataki"of our time.

2. Integrity:
In the words of C.S. Lewis, “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching" As much as Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi is concerned, integrity is key in leadership and without integrity, there is no real measure of success because You can’t expect your followers to be honest when you lack integrity yourself. An honest leader succeeds when they stick to their word, live by their core values, lead by example and follow-through.

Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi believes that integrity is the cornerstone of all other leadership qualities.

3.Accountability:
In the dictionary of Honorable Prince Akinremi , accountability is a necessary and important skill for every leader and according to Arnold Glasow, “A good leader takes little more than his share of the blame and little less than his share of the credit.”

A true leader is accountable and takes responsibility for the team's results both the falls and the wins.

Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi "Jagaban" gives credit where credit is due and takes responsibility for blame when necessary. Being accountable and truly leading by example is one of the quickest and fastest ways he has built the trust and loyalty of his people.

4.Empathy:
Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi "Jagaban" understands that a true leader must be open-minded to the motivations, problems, hopes and dreams of his people and hereby finds a way to create a deep personal connection with them.

5.Humility:
When it comes to leadership, it can be tempting to become enamored with the new title or status that comes with the position. However, Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi leadership style focused on problem solving and team dynamics much more than self glorification. He believes a great leader will only achieve the best result by being more concerned with the welfare of his team and his people at the grassroots, rather than putting his personal interests first. As Thomas Merton said, “Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real.”

6.Vision:
Jack Welch said, “Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision and relentlessly drive it to completion.” As a representative of Ibadan north federal constituency, Honorable Prince Akinremi has clearly set the tone towards direction and exercises keen decisiveness towards achieving the set goals.

Honorable Prince Akinremi believe that decision making and consultations is the key to new ideas while ensuring that people understands his direction, his vision and his mission.

Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi believes and always says that, “True leaders inspire loyalty, enthusiasm, commitment, remind everyone of their big picture and challenge people to outdo themselves.”

7.Influence:
Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi believes that leadership and influence are not interchangeable and respect has to be earned not given. Leaders must learn to earn respect as respect cannot be gotten through coercion or by the mere attainment of position.

8.Resilience:
Resilience is one of the key attribute of leadership. Leaders must learn to pursue a course and see it through, regardless of the difficulties. This is one of the key qualities of Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi. He is not a quitter and his resilient nature sees him rise above the difficulty times and performed excellently in his line of representation and development of Ibadan north federal constituency

9.Positivity:
Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi believes that leaders inspire the people not only through decisions and outcomes, but also by their body language and mental demeanour. Their behavioral pattern and lifestyle, life outlook and attitude even in the face of pressure keeps them going. According to him, a good leader sets all goals with a positive mindset towards achieving positive results.

10.Delegation:
A difficult transition for many leaders is shifting from doing to leading. Leadership has a lot to do with the delegation of duties as against trying to do it all by yourself. Honourable Prince Olaide Akinremi is not a man that want to be an actor in all the movie scenes neither is he a man that want to accustomed to doing all the work by himself just to get all the glory. However, Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi always delegates responsibilities to his disciples, because he believes great leaders must motivate their team by assigning responsibilities to them while he only plays the supervisory role.

Let us all support and cooperate with Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi "Jagaban" a true leader with the interest of his people at heart.

God bless Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi and give him long life with good health for him to serve the people and give glory to God. Amen.

Politics / HON AKINREMI JAGABAN, A First Termer Like A Tenth Termer by ADEKUNLE475: 7:32am On Sep 25, 2021
Akinremi, a first-termer like a fourth-termer, a principal officer in embryo.

Naturally, some senatorial districts and federal constituencies are fortunate to have a lobbyist, energetic and visionary representatives in the the National Assembly, while others are not so fortunate.

Ibadan North in Oyo State is one of the fortunate federal constituency that is currently well represented by Hon. Akinremi Olaide Adewale, a first-term parliamentarian like a fourth-term legislator in the green chamber of the National Assembly.

It's often been said that a first-term legislators are aways a learner in the chambers of the National Assembly, Federal Republic of Nigeria but Hon. Akinremi Olaide Adewale has proved it wrong as he's currently a parliamentary teacher in and out of the National Assembly.

Hon. Akinremi was elected to represent the good people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency in 2019 and as we all know, it is very difficult for a first-term legislator to be a Standing Committee Chairman or even a Deputy Chairman of the House as the Standing Committees of the House is about 107 against 360 total numbers of the Honourable members.

Amazingly, Hon. Akinremi Olaide Adewale break the record, he was appointed as the pioneer Chairman of House Committee on Science Research Institutes, providing over diverse public hearing on many bills for the establishment of several Institutes and Agencies for the advancement of Science and Technology in Nigeria.

As a plus to the good people of Oyo State, specifically Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Akinremi Olaide Adewale was appointed member of the National Caretaker and Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee of the APC, representing the House Representatives.

Consequently, the House of Representatives set up an Adhoc committee to look into all arms purchase for security agencies in Nigeria since 2011 to 2021 and Hon. Akinremi Olaide was appointed Chairman of the Committee with the responsibility to review the purchase, use and control of arms, ammunitions and related hardware by the military, paramilitary and other law enforcement agencies in Nigeria.

Do you still think opposition parties in Oyo state, Ibadan North Federal Constituency need to contest against him in 2023? The answer is NO, unless the state wish to shortchanged her chances in the National Assembly.

Hon. Akinremi Olaide Adewale is a lobbyist per excellent, he has positioned himself beyond the imagination of men and I am very sure, in the 10th Assembly, he will be a principal officer in the House of Representatives.

Ibadan North Federal Constituency must be guided and be careful not to contest against him irrespective of the political parties as this goldmine in their hand must be guarded jealously in their own best interest.

Politics / Hon Jagaban Advocate For Prompt Release Of 4 OPC Men Arrested Over Wakili by ADEKUNLE475: 10:14am On Mar 10, 2021
Hon. Olaide Akinremi, MHR.

Hon. Jagaban sir, I write to appreciate you for your effort and contribution in resolving issues around the detaining of OPC members who arrested the Fulani Wakili Iskilu in Oyo state.

Your move in immediately reaching out to the office of the Inspector General of Police and the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, in addition to the steps also taken by the Oyo State government, as well as Aare Gani Adams was instrumental to the release of these men.

It gladdens my heart that you made yourself available to render support to these men at this pressing time, and thank you for leveraging your contacts to assist in resolving their case.

This silent yet positive act of yours is a further conviction for me that you are always touching the lives of your people and those around you without making noise. We are watching.

Politics / APC Tackle Seyi Makinde Over His Planned Defection by ADEKUNLE475: 3:57pm On Mar 09, 2021
Oyo APC Knocks Gov Makinde Over Alleged Defection Plans Denial

The All Progressives Congress in Oyo state has taken a swipe at Governor Seyi Makinde over his alleged denial of clandestine plans to cross carpet from the Peoples Democratic Party for known political reasons describing the development as shameful, immoral and regrettable.

The social media platforms were awash, on Monday, by speculations about Gov. Makinde perfecting plans to join the APC having reached out to some powerful stakeholders within and outside the south west but this was denied by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, who claimed in a statement that Oyo APC was the one wooing Gov. Makinde in views of his personality and achievements in office.

While reacting through a statement issued on Tuesday and made available to journalists in Ibadan by the Personal Assistant (Media) to the State Caretaker Chairman, Chief Akin Oke, Olawale Sadare said that “Gov. Makinde played the ostrich by denying apparent moves to join the APC through the back door.

“While we appreciate the fact that there is free entry and free exit in party politics, we are disappointed that a governor can turn a desperado in his bid to be an overlord in the entire political space in a state like Oyo. With what Gov. Makinde has just done, genuine democrats and other stakeholders in the nation’s democratic environment have a good cause to renew their fear for the future of democracy and the rule of law.

“Available facts indicate that he (Makinde) had established contacts with a former governor from the Niger Delta region who now lives in Abuja. The same former governor also co-opted some influential gladiators within the APC at the national level to penetrate the south west ostensibly to whittle down the dominance of others who they consider a threat for their own inordinate ambition ahead of 2023. It is on this premise that Gov. Makinde’s overtures were considered and given some backing in principle.

“Even if we were to agree that Gov. Makinde, just like every other person, has the right to join any party of their choice at any point in time, we must set the record straight that Oyo APC cannot consider him an asset or good addition for obvious reasons. With virtually all the gladiators involved in the unfortunate coalition arrangement which gave victory to the PDP in the 2019 gubernatorial election now in the APC after deserting him for tenable and justifiable reasons which revolve around insincerity, selfishness and undemocratic traits.

“Meanwhile, Oyo APC has kept intact the machinery with which we won two Senatorial seats out of the available three as well as nine out of the available fourteen House of Representatives seats in the 2019 election. If anything, the population of those elected on the platform of our party has increased while more people are coming into the fold in their large numbers. Is it then that we would begin to woo somebody who has been deserted by 90 per cent of his key political benefactors in less than two years in office?

“And with the fate that has befallen members and supporters of the PDP in the state who had hoped for a fair dealing in the build up to the illegal local government election slated for May this year, the Makinde political anthill risks further depletion. Therefore, the truth remains that Oyo APC would not need a character like Gov. Makinde who still has a long way to go if he desires to emerge a strong, credible and popular political player during and after his four year tenure.” APC concluded.

Empowerment: Hon. Olaide Akínrẹ̀mí Jagaban Facilitates Techno-Entrepreneuship Training for 175 Constituents

In line with his self sufficiency agenda, Prince Akínrẹ̀mí Jagaban representing Ìbàdàn North Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives has facilitated capacity building programmes focused on cassava processing for his people.

These training programmes are set to teach and enhance the capacity of entrepreneurs in the aspect of agribusiness, ensuring they have the requisite skills needed to successfully convert cassava into various beneficial products.

100 participants divided into batches have been undergoing training at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in the last three weeks, while 75 participants will be trained by the Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi (FIIRO) from today 22nd to Wednesday 25th Feb. 2021.

Interestingly, Hon. Olaide Akínrẹ̀mí has perfected plans to ensure each participant is empowered with start up capital to kickstart their individual agribusiness interests at the end of the capacity building training sessions.

The goal of facilitating these entrepreneurship programmes according to Hon. Akínrẹ̀mí Jagaban is to assist the beneficiaries in achieving financial independence and individual sustainability, with an overall effect on the economic growth of Ọ̀yọ́ state and Nigeria on the long run.

Politics / Ibadan North Federal Honourable Meet With IGP Over Insecurity In Oyo State. by ADEKUNLE475: 8:51am On Feb 05, 2021
On The Rising Insecurity Incidents In Ọ̀yọ́ State.

The spate of terrible, sad and heinous incidents which is been witnessed in Ọ̀yọ́ State these last few months is one which breaks the heart of our people.

Frequent and somehow coordinated activities of recalcitrant herdsmen, thugs, bandits and street urchins among others has suddenly turned our not so long ago peaceful pacesetter state into a dreadful habitat.

Lives are being lost, farms are being destroyed, public infrastructure are getting vandalized, people are getting robbed and shops are being looted. From one zone to another, cases of unrest continue to threaten the peace of our people.

Quite a number of these incidents has occurred in my Constituency, with some coming to my personal attention, and within the confines of my capacity, I have financially supported a few who were victim of these rogues.

In addition, I have through my office reached out to relevant stakeholders in a call for support for our dear state, and this I have done from the lowest cadre of law enforcement to the Inspector General of Police, IG Mohammed Adamu.

I have since followed up my initial engagement with the Inspector General of Police, bringing to his attention updates which I am certain has also reached him from the Ọ̀yọ́ State Commissioner of Police. I also have made it a point of duty to reach out to the Ọ̀yọ́ State Commissioner of Police personally, as well as to some DPO's in my Constituency too.

This move of mine is imperative for anyone who wants the progress of Ọ̀yọ́ state, as we only stand to lose if these series of occurrences continue unabated. We all are affected by these torrid events irrespective of political, social, and religious delineation among others.

More so, it is important that we sustain the legacy of peace left by late Sen. Abiola Ajimobi's administration. The last administration laid a solid security foundation, one which is worthy of being consolidated upon in the best interest of our people.

At this point, all hands need to be on deck to successfully checkmate our security challenges. The Ọ̀yọ́ State Government needs to wake up, and with immediacy implement strategies that will bring lasting solution to all our insecurity issues.

We can't afford to allow a total breakdown of law and order as the current state of things isn't encouraging, and I want to charge the ruling party of our dear state not to view this as being opposed, but as a clarion call for expedite action to protect the people of Ọ̀yọ́ state.

Our farmers in Ibarapa and Oke-Ogun, business owners in Ìbàdàn, Ogbomoso, Ọ̀yọ́ town and indeed the entire people of Ọ̀yọ́ state in general need a safe environment to live, as well as to carry out their daily activities.

I want to appreciate and also encourage all law enforcement agents in Ọ̀yọ́ State, especially members of the Nigeria Police Force for their dedication and hard work.
The task may seem arduous, but I have no doubts in your capacity to tame all forms of unrest just like you did in the times of Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

Lastly, I commiserate with the families of those whose lives has been cut short by unpatriotic and unscrupulous members of our society across Ọ̀yọ́ state. It is my sincere prayers that the departed souls find eternal rest.

God Bless Ìbàdàn North Federal Constituency.
God Bless Ọ̀yọ́ State.
God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Prince Akínrẹ̀mí Jagaban.
MHR, Ìbàdàn North Federal Constituency.

Politics / Hon Akinremi Jagaban Looking Back And Leaping Forward by ADEKUNLE475: 10:19am On Jan 03, 2021
HONORABLE PRINCE OLAIDE AKINREMI LOOKING BACK AND LEAPING FORWARD.

The real and enduring business of leadership is to have leaders capable of raising hopes in their people in moments of despair. During stormy and threatening times, serious mandate holders must not join the people’s wagon where there is a dirge that all is over. While a leader would not pretend all is well, he must not be with the people on the same page of dearth of hope. As he acknowledges the seeming universal helplessness, occasioned by a sad past, he is expected to point his fingers at a bright future. He must be realistic about this optimism, and chart a promising path for his people and the society at large.

That was the lesson we learn from Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi "Jagaban" representing Ibadan north Federal constituency at the national assembly. His activities in the constituency in the last quarter of the year 2020 ,which includes distribution of palliative and sponsoring free eye test and treatment and free recommended eye glasses for constituents is remarkable meaning that good and reasonable development is coming in the year 2021. Of course, But there was more: he broached perspectives for the citizens of Ibadan north federal constituency to see that a radiant offing is unfolding in the constituency. Honorable Prince Akinremi "Jagaban" performed the feat by the simple but the discreet act of looking back to leap into the future.

There were unsettling spells in 2020: the devastating invasion of Covid-19; destructive EndSARS protests, insecurity, economic recession that made Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi "Jagaban" conclude that the period was the most challenging year in human history upon this he was able to provide equitable and adequate services for the people of the constituency and prove that even in the face of gross adversity and crass challenges, Honorable Prince Akinremi was able to secure the people of his constituency.

Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi is working for the progress of Ibadan north federal constituency .

Honorable Prince Olaide Akinremi is working and Ibadan north is moving forward.

Politics / Hon Akinremi Jagaban Celebrate With Youth by ADEKUNLE475: 12:32pm On Nov 02, 2020
National Youth Day: Hon Olaide Akínrẹ̀mí Jagaban Commemorates With Nigerian Youths, Charges Them On Participation In Governance

A member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Olaide Akínrẹ̀mí Jagaban representing Ìbàdàn North Federal Constituency has commemorated the 2020 National Youth Day, which is the very first in Nigeria with our teeming Youths across the country.

In a release made available to journalists to mark the November 1st National Youth Day, Hon Jagaban noted that Youths are important part of any nation, as the future and sustainability of a country rests on their shoulders. Youths have integral roles to play in the development of Nigeria, and they have to start participating in all processes that determines their future.

Hon Olaide Akínrẹ̀mí further stated that the #EndSARS protests was a proof that our Youths have all it takes to participate in governance, they only need to kickstart the process of full participation by each and everyone of them, getting involved and making contributions to policies and procedures that affects them as citizens.

"I was impressed by their level of coordination and management of financial resources, they handled the protests perfectly until the unfortunate influx of thugs and hoodlums who capitalized on the movement to commit crimes", Hon Jagaban said.

Maolud Nabbiy: Exemplify the Morals, Virtues and Teachings of Prophet Muhammed in your daily life - Hon Akínrẹ̀mí Jagaban Urges Muslims

HAPPY MAULUD NABBIY CELEBRATION!

Today we celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), one whose reverence is at the core of our Ima'an. We should remember that celebrating Mawlid an-Nabi is an act of expressing our love and happiness at the birth of Allah's most exalted Prophet.

This year has been unique, with unprecedented happenings all over the world. The terrific effect of COVID-19 on humanity further showed us why we need to move closer to Allah, become more prayerful, shun sin and live a life worthy of emulation.

As a country, Nigeria also faced its own challenge with continuous cases of Police brutality and fatality leading to the #EndSARS protests across the nation which lasted for almost two weeks. It was a phase like never before in our history.

These incidences and their aftermaths call for our reflection as humans, and the need to show kindness to fellow men cannot be understated at this point, as both incidences this year has led to loss of lives and source of living for some of our people.

As we identify with this auspicious Mawlid al-Nabi occasion, let us exemplify the morals, virtues and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in our daily life.

Wishing all Muslim Ummah in Ìbàdàn North and the Entire World a Happy Maulud Nabbiy Celebration.

Prince Akínrẹ̀mí Jagaban.
MHR, Ìbàdàn North Federal Constituency.
