Celebrities / Re: Real Reason For High Rate Of Divorce In Entertainment Industry – Actor Nedu by ademajek(m): 11:25pm On Jan 22
As somebody once said "Don't take marrital advice from somebody who is suffering from a marrital issue"

It is however sad to find out these days that lots of people view marriage as a relaxation lounge where you order for whatever you like. Or like a convinience room where you do your stuff and don't care to clean up your mess. Most couples enjoy or are willing to endure the stress that comes with wedding preparations just to show off to friends and family, but are quick to throwing the towel when face with marrital stress.

Bunch of immature individuals parading themselves as influencer and celebrities. Bunch of immature couples full everywhere. Heady and gullible individuals whose life coach are social media influencers. A fruit they say does not fall far from it's tree.
Career / Re: 400k Salary, but nothing. by ademajek(m): 10:22pm On Jan 10
Like someone earlier said, you need to have a plan. Set realistic targets that are achievable within a given time frame. If your wife is not working, encourage to get a job or you set her up in a business by taking loan. Let her be responsible for some bills while you pay back the loan. Hopefully she's prudent, unselfish and supportive, else you might need to put it in black and white signed by both of nna [ e get why o]. You can as well be her partner-in-business or support her in the business in every way possible. Note that nobody create or build wealth through saving money in the bank, it is through investment. It took me years to realise this.

A woman advised me about 13 years ago to ensure that I had built or own a house before any of my children enter secondary school. I was able to do so last year with my meager salary and my wife's massive support. If cost of accommodation in your state/area of residence is too high bros pls relocate. You can relocate your family to a less expensive state/area.

Lastly, pls you and your wife need to do family planning. The prevailing economic realities within country requires such. The larger the family the more the expenses. Quality education for children is not cheap anymore. With your family size, without making some uncomfortable life decisions/choices, it will be almost impossible to live well and also plan for the future with your 400k salary.

I bought mine from a blockmaker that's near iCast Hostel on Alaaka road. If you continue on Alaaka road from Teak junction to where the tarred roads ends, you will see him shortly on the left. I don't want to share his phone number on the web as I don't think he's an internet kind of a person.

Good luck on your project.

Think I should be able to locate it by description.

Thank you sir.

Hope I might be able to share my story here someday.

Doguwa is the Majority Leader of The House Of Representatives

Bola Tinubu Has Paid his dues as Far as political investment is concerned in APC

People like me and most of the members in the APC rep Caucus have taken advantage of his generosity and electoral support

He is one Nigeria whose name is synonymous to APC

We look at him as a major stakeholder in APC

Helping Tinubu Become President Is Like A Civic Responsibility To Rep Members.

Our position on Tinubu is the popular position in Nigeria

He is medically and physically fit to be the president of this country

There are some aspirants in the APC presidential race that have lost elections even in their wards

According to Doguwa, "a Paliamentarian has no business other than election"
That speaks volume about the crop of people who claims to represent the people of this country. That is if they truly represent the people or just their personal interests.

Health / Sleep Paralysis by ademajek(m): 12:38pm On Jul 14, 2020
SLEEP PARALYSIS

What is Sleep Paralysis

Sleep paralysis is a feeling of being unable to move, either at the onset of sleep or upon awakening. It happens just after falling asleep or upon awakening in the morning, in the time between waking and sleep.

People have long sought explanations for this mysterious sleep-time paralysis and the accompanying feelings of terror.
The individual’s senses and awareness are intact, but they may feel as if there is pressure on them, or as if they are choking.

Sleep paralysis have been described in many ways and often attributed to an "evil" presence: unseen night demons or territory spirits. We sometimes assume it being caused by by presence of wall geckos or cockroaches believed to have been possessed by an evil spirit. And then you wake up to start binding and casting by fire.

Other description of sleep paralysis:
1. Intruder: There are sounds of doorknobs opening, shuffling footsteps, a shadow man, or sense of a threatening presence in the room.

2. Incubus: Feelings of pressure on the chest, difficulty breathing with the sense of being smothered, strangled or sexually assaulted by a malevolent being. The individual believes they are about to die.

3. Vestibular-motor: A sense of spinning, falling, floating, flying, hovering over one’s body or another type of out-of-body experience.

Sleep paralysis is usually brief and not life threatening, but the person may remember it as haunting and horrifying. It may also be accompanied by hallucinations and intense fear.

Signs and symptoms of sleep paralysis:

1. Inability to move the body when falling asleep or on waking, lasting for seconds or several minutes

2. Being consciously awake

3. Being unable to speak during the episode

4. Having hallucinations and sensations that cause fear

5. Feeling pressure on the chest

6. Having difficulty breathing

7. Feeling as if death is approaching
sweating

8. having headaches, muscle pains, and paranoia

Reasons for Sleep Paralysis:

While sleeping, the body relaxes, and voluntary muscles do not move. This prevents people from injuring themselves due to acting out dreams. Sleep paralysis involves a disruption or fragmentation of the rapid eye movement (REM) sleep cycle.

The body alternates between rapid eye movement (REM) and non-rapid eye movement (NREM).

One REM-NREM cycle lasts around 90 minutes, and most of the time spent sleeping is in NREM. During NREM, the body relaxes. During REM, the eyes move quickly, but the body is relaxed. Dreams occur at this time.

In sleep paralysis, the body’s transition to or from REM sleep is out of sync with the brain. The person’s consciousness is awake, but their body remains in the paralyzed sleep state.

The areas of the brain that detect threats are in a heightened state and overly sensitive.

Factors that causes sleep paralysis:

1. Narcolepsy: a sleep disorder characterized by excessive sleepiness, sleep paralysis, hallucinations, and in some cases episodes of cataplexy (partial or total loss of muscle control, often triggered by a strong emotion such as laughter).

2. Irregular sleeping patterns, due, for example, to jet lag or shift work

3. Mental conditions such as stress or bipolar disorder

4. Sleeping on your back

5. A family history of sleep paralysis

6. Use of certain medications, such as those for ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)

7. Substance abuse

Treatment for Sleep Paralysis:

There is no specific treatment for sleep paralysis, but stress management, maintaining a regular sleep schedule, and observing good sleep habits can reduce the likelihood of sleep paralysis.

A. Understanding the physiology of sleep and the mechanism for sleep paralysis is an important step to overcoming it.
Strategies for improving sleep hygiene include:

1. keeping bedtime and wake-up time consistent, even on holidays and weekends
2. Ensuring a comfortable sleep environment, with suitable bedding and sleepwear and a clean, dark and cool bedroom
3. Reducing light exposure in the evening and using night-lights for bathroom trips at night
4. Getting good daylight exposure during waking hours
5. Not working or studying in the bedroom
6. Avoiding napping after 3.00 p.m. and for longer than 90 minutes
7. Not eating a heavy evening meal, or eating within 2 hours of going to bed
8. Not sleeping with the lights or television on
9. abstaining from evening alcohol or caffeine products
10. Exercising daily, but not within 2 hours of bedtime
11. Including a calming activity in the bedtime ritual, such as reading or listening to relaxing music
12. Leaving phones and other devices outside the bedroom
13 Putting electronics aside at least 1 hour before going to bed

B. Managing any depression or anxiety disorder

C. Reducing intake of stimulants

D. Practicing meditation or regular prayer

In conclusion, an ongoing stress and disruption in the sleep cycle can pose serious health implications. And Healthy sleep habits are not just necessary for sleep paralysis management, but for the overall health and wellness of our body system.

Family / Re: The Biggest Mistake In Marriage Right Now For A Woman by ademajek(m): 8:42pm On May 24, 2020
NoToPile:

You see ehn I am still waiting for the day a male will open a thread on nairaland and talk about the bolded how they too can take some nurturing responsibility.

Its just simple women are not wired to provide, its against the natural order, now that she's providing ( it makes sense for a woman to work nowadays) will you help out in the nurturing? No response from NL males, anyway reality is always different lots of guys in real life are beginning to shape up.

Thats why I laugh so hard when people people bash moniker Ybaby she's right on the point that men are to PROVIDE and PROTECT simple, dance around it, ignore it, call it another name but the fact doesn't change. I may not agree with all her points but hey she's right on this provider issue.

I also read the comment you quoted, I chose not to comment. But after I read your comment I had I feel I had to say this.
There are different kinds of men and women, ladies, guys, girls, boys or whatever you may want to call them. We have different background, experiences as well as exposure. These things often time influences our thoughts, perception and ultimately our decisions.

I'm married and I can proudly that there is absolutely nothing I can't for my spouse when it comes to house chores, just name it. Anything, anything you can think of or imagine. And still have to provide for everything to the best of my financial capability. The question then is, did all that changed her entitlement syndrome/mentality?

I'll keep that answer to myself. one is certain, I love my wife dearly and won't place any other man or woman above her.

During my little experiences so far, I have seen enough to tell you emphatically that a man or woman will always chose to be what or who they want be regardless of what you do or didn't do. That's the power of choice.

You mentioned something about how a woman is wired, although I do not totally agree with your postulation. I believe its one of those catches employed to douse tension or console. Let me ask, do you know how a man is wired? Can you handle or stand it. Nobody is wired in any such way that you may have your mind. What you see is who we have become due to experiences, information, exposure, background etc.

Be whoever you want to be, I can tell that there will always be somebody that thinks, reasons or see things the way you do in a man or woman. There are men with entitlement mentality just as there are in women just that nnà own too much abeg grin.
There are women building houses and empires through their hard earned money like men. And there are also men who only want to reap where they did not sow like some {most} women do.

Bottom line is: you are who choose to be.
Family / Re: The Biggest Mistake In Marriage Right Now For A Woman by ademajek(m): 9:27pm On May 23, 2020
KingSatan:

As a man, a father and a grandfather. I have lived life to an extent and this is my view on this subject.

The previous thread was simple and concise, "Never marry a woman who has no means of income".

But that is the truth!

Gone are the days when people marry "Obiageri's" according to the Igbos.
Back then, things weren't this bad. Considering the family setting in those days, women had no other role than to cook, birth, raise children and clean the house.

So their parents prepare them for marriage, teach them how to cook, satisfy a man and raise children. They also spend alot of time grooming their hairs, taking care of their skin (Some parents send their children to fattening rooms) and waiting to get married.

When we got married, we married to keep them at home and show off to our friends. Only a few of us married because of love. Some of our partners were not our choice but our parents.

So when you marry, your wife and children should always reflect your wealth and networth. Most especially, YOUR WIFE.

I repeat, back then things were not this bad and everyone knew their roles.

But in today's world, so many things have changed.

Women should bring to the table as much as they expect from the man.

Raising children costs alot of money and shouldn't be the responsibility of the man alone.

So many marriages have crashed on the alter of poverty or "One stream of income".

We must learn to tell ourselves the truth always.

Back then, you don't spend so much to raise a child. If he or she wants to go to the community school or follow the white man's way of life, you send them as a punishment. But those humble and loyal sons, follow you to the farm and when they come of age, you give them farmlands and wives if possible. But that's not the case anymore.

Apart from formal education abroad, I also encouraged my children to learn sellable skills. One of my son is a fashion designer and that is what puts food on his table in the UK. His college degree only reflects on his call cards.

I told this to my children (Daughters inclusive) never to marry a man or woman who has no verifiable means of income.

Money is needed to run a home in the 21st century. Alot of money!

We no longer live in mud houses or drink from pots.

As for "Entitlement", I think every couple should have that mentality depending on the context.

The man is entitled to his wife's emotional commitment. She is his wife and this also applies to the man.

I am tired of typing.

To be truthful, i warned my son's against mingling with an average African woman. They simply don't want to know the truth. They hate the truth with Passion and that is why true feminism failed woefully here.

In the Diaspora, most men who want peace of mind avoid African women because of their "Entitlement Mentality" and how exploitative they are.

Many of these women don't work but enjoy proceeds of child support from numerous partners. You think it's a coincidence? No it not. It was deliberate.

They just want to seat at home, get fat, enlarge their butts and walk up and down the street like a pussy cat that resides in Buckingham Palace.

Should I talk about Nigeria, where you meet an average Nigerian lady and realise that;

1. She is a college graduate because a "Man" sponsored her in school (Both of them are no longer together as a couple).

2. She has a roof over her head because a "Man" made that available (She has no intention of marrying him).

3. She uses the best smartphone because a "Man" bought it for her (Just another random man).

4. She has clothes on her body because a "Man" gave her money for shopping (Obviously he is "One of those mugus"wink.

5. She has food on her table because so many men send her money.

This same woman has no other skill but sexual skills. The only thing she can offer is "Sexual Intercourse", "Birthing Children" and "Companionship" but she expects the man to "Mark her birthdays with a brand new Escalade", "Buy her parents a new house and train her younger ones in school". Is that not exploitation?

This same woman hates her mother inlaw because she sees her as her rival. Anyway, women have always hated themselves from time immemorial, don't get moved when you see them shout in solidarity, it's just for a few seconds.

When asked about their contribution in the relationship or Marriage, some will say "I birthed children for him". But that's your natural default woman!

Even if you sleep with a sexually active mad man, you will get pregnant and birth for him.

Some will even say, "I satisfy him sexually. I gave him my body and soul". But that is same thing you did with your numerous ex lovers.

According to Pastor Sam Adeyemi, he said "If a woman does not help her husband financially, then how else does she want to help him".

In this age and time, it takes two adults who have a verifiable means of income to build a healthy family.

Cheers!

Sir
I'm really glad to have read your comment

May your live long enough to reap the fruit of your labor

The whole truth and nothing but the truth.

However the seller advised that I charge to Rim 17 due to the scarcity and price of Rim15. Rim17 is cheaper compared Rim 15 (used tyres), that he will give me 4 Rim17 {Alloy Rim) with tyre and take my own but I will add some money to it (45k).

But I am sceptic about the workability of the exchange with regards to the effect of such changes on the car, the fenders and fuel consumption and other possible effects.

A good writeup.

Although I don't want concur with everything mentioned. Many, if not all, of the things we buy goes out of fashion quickly, or a newer version is introduced while you saving up to buy it,

One of the things you can do is not to rush into buying those items when newly out, wait till the euphoria and craze about it die down. A good example is TV set. My brother bought his LG 42" for over 250k in 2009, I bought mine 104k in 2011 both brand new.

Another means of getting cheap items is during sales promo, clearance sales. Many of the dresses use see in some Nigerian boutiques are clearance sale from foreign shops.

This are just a few means to get cheap items, not necessarily buying use them as used.

That does not mean to say I don't buy used items.
