They don’t.

brymorla:
Good evening everyone. Please, I need urgent reply to the question below.

Please do schools send information you submitted while registering to the embassy for interview?

The issue is that my husband forgot to update something on his CV while processing his admission. Now he is worried that the Info supplied might be sent to the embassy and he shouldn't say something contrary to what is in his CV.

Pls, your reply will be appreciated.

VO: Have you left Nigeria before?
ME: No I've not. The reason being that we work so hard in our law firm throughout the year. During holidays we do probono prison visits to assist some indigent prisoners to be able to be with their families.

*VO directs me to do Biometrics

VO: I can see you're going to Washburn University. Why this school?

ME: I chose the school because they offer me a flexible curriculum to be able to choose courses that are best suited for my aspirations. The Global Legal Studies is an umbrella name for LLM covering international students in the school. I'd be specializing in Corporate and Commercial Law.

VO: I can see you have some scholarship from the University. Who is paying the rest?

ME: My elder brother of full blood would be paying. He sponsored my Law school after our father's death.

VO: *cuts in*. what does he do?
ME: He's a Doctor in the UK. I also have some money of my own (as seen on my i20) which I will be taking with me as a buffer.

VO: What do you do?
ME: I am a legal practitioner at ***** in Nigeria. We are fully into litigation and at the office I settle briefs and represent clients in both criminal and civil courts.

VO: everything checks out

*Hands me the white paper* Though it's like a few days to the 120 days (124th day) to your resumption, I'd be keeping your passport rather than giving you the yellow one and you taking the stress of having to mail it back to us.

ME: Thank you Sir.

*Leaves the embassy*

My passport was recieved 2 weeks later. so anyone going before the 120 days resumption should expect some delays in the reciept of their passport.

Thanks to God for his kindness and grace
All these happened in less than 2 minutes.

I didn't believe I'd get the visa after having no travel history and that being the first question. I dropped my file on the side of the slab and didn't even look at it. No documents were requested.

Tips
1. Fill your DS160 yourself, be as detailed as possible
2. Your story has to make sense to you first.
3. Watch you-tube videos from ARGO VISA, this really helped a lot.
4. You will be nervous and it would be understandable.
5. You will see how ready you are when you start watching others in the interview room.
6. If you have no travel history, try and give a reason (if you have one). A simple 'No' without more may have resulted in a different reality for me that day
7. Lastly, PRAY for GRACE. that was my only prayer point.

Congratulations.

The school I will be attending offers me 50% scholarship for the first quarter of my MBA programme and also stated that I am eligible for merit based scholarship that covers 30% of my tuition fees. The was stated under remark on my I-20. The school sent me a letter titled Scholarship letter in reference to the remark.
Please, do I tell the VO I have a scholarship and how do I call this type of scholarship because I don’t know if it’s the same as partial scholarship/funding?

Hi everyone. So my family and I just got our visas! I’m f1. Husband is F2 and child F2. I had a child in the U. S back in 2019. The lady who interviewed us was scary. Lol. African American. We wer praying for the white lady to interview us cus she was nice to others especially students… but yea we got the African American lady. She thrilled us! Lol first question- why University of Saint Thomas? I told her that’s where I got my master of liberal Arts degree from back in 2014 and the school does more than teaching, it focuses on morals and ethics and it’s a tight knit community cause it’s a small school that makes it easy to interact with lecturers … She then asked when last I visited the US… I said 2019. She said how long did I stay? I said 5 months. She said why did I stay for that long? I said cus I gave birth. She asked if I told the consulate officer that I was going to give birth? I said yes I was taken through secondary interrogation where I showed them my doctor’s invitation letter and receipt of hospital bill… I then had to back track and explained how I went for my sister’s graduation and during the visit I had to do a doctor’s routine checkup. Then the doctor told me he could help me through the pregnancy with ease as I had gestational diabetes that he wanted to control through diet…. So long story short, she said my visa was revoked when my husband applied for his visa while I was in the U. S then. I told her I wasn’t aware that it was revoked because I didn’t commit any offense. That The consular officer then thought I wasn’t going to come back and that I have no reason to overstay. Then she said ok. Do you know that it’s now illegal for foreigners to give birth in the U.S that hope I don’t plan on having kids during my program. My husband and I said no o that we have two for now and we are ok until after the program…. Then she asked Who will be sponsoring your program? I said my dad. Then she asked what he did. I told her… she then faced my husband and asked what he does… my husband said he has a restaurant… then I whispered to him to add Cotonou that our restaurant is in Cotonou… then he added it. Lol. She asked who will be running it when we travel… he said he has staffs that run the business. She said staff as in? He said he has staff and a brother that will be running it on his behalf. Then she typed and faced me again. What do I plan to do with the program… I said to add to my current business which is for African youths and that I plan to use my doctor of education program to create a training institute for young adults… plus she asked if I had any relatives in the US. I said yes two sisters. She asked if my two sisters are citizens. I said no they are non immigrants. She said what are they doing there. I said one is on H1B and the other is a student. oh I forgot to mention that she noticed I didn’t write my full name when asked for other names used… I thought I was meant to write any other name I’ve been called so I used my short name and maiden name instead of using my full name… anyways she was like she was going to correct it manually from her end…. So yea she gave us the Visa… we packed soooo many documents and she didn’t even care to look down at any… I even tried to show her some , she didn’t even look; she was just looking at the system…

Congratulations.
I remember you shared you and your husband’s profiles sometimes ago.

Good day Scholars,
Please, I need your intake, experience and professionalism in this as it’s really giving me a huge concern.

My F1 interview is in 2 weeks time.
My concern is I applied for a B1 Visa in 2019 which was denied reasons best known to the VO. Although, I had no knowledge on how to go about the application then. So, it was an Agent that processed it for me when he told me there was a conference I could get an invite on and attend the conference which I agreed. I studied law and graduated in 2018. I was working in a legal department in 1 of the popular insurance companies in Lagos. Unfortunately, the Agent put my designation as a Clerk. I didn’t get to check until the application was completed and submitted. After I worked there for 9 months, I changed to my parents’ company, where I presently work as a Human Resources Manager cause I decided to have a career shift from Law to Management which led me to want to take an MBA program. I acquired 3 online certifications to consolidate my new career.

My concerns are won’t it raise an eyebrow as per working as a Clerk for a Law Graduate to now partaking in running my parents’ company?
Secondly, what do I tell the VO if he/she asks why I was working as a Clerk as a Law graduate, and do I relate my B1 purpose of travel to the clerical work or I should find a way to connect it to my new career which is taking me to embark for the MBA?
The conference was on safety & health management and everything happened in 2019.
I resigned from my former place of work after the B1 interview and started working in my parents’ company in PH before we expanded to Lagos. My father is my sponsor,

Thank you as I read from you all.

Please, what does COA mean?

@Fairheart

Please, how can I reach you one on one Sir?
PecAbby:

Hello Fairheart

Thank you for all you do in this forum.

Please I need your advice.
I'm in a dilemma.

So my husband and I booked US Visa appointments.
Note: My husband is F1 with 3 dependents (me and our two kids).
We have full funding.

However we made a mistake of applying for emergency visa outside of our '60days to start date' window and we were denied.
We took this decision because a friend of ours did same and he was approved.

Now our regular appointment is for Feb. 2023.
And the emergency appointment option is no longer displaying in our dashboard.
What should we do ...

Can we cancel the appointment and pay a fresh visa fee...will it guarantee that the emergency window will come back?

Or any other solution we can choose.

Thank you in advance for your kind response

Good morning everyone.

Please, I need your input on this.
My appointment is next month.
I was supposed to resume on the 4th of this month but I couldn’t secure an appointment date on time.
I requested for a new i-20 from the school for summer resumption since my programmes is open for it but I don’t know how soon the school will reply.
Do I proceed with the interview if the school doesn’t reply me before then and go with the old I-20? Please, what do you suggest I tell the VO or what do you think I should do?

Thank you as you reply.
