Programming / Re: Are You An Advanced Software Developer? Pls Lets Talk Business by Afam(m): 3:15pm On May 27, 2010
Sounds interesting. Can handle any software project regardless of complexity or level of sophistication.

Seems it's going to be a tough one determining a developer to choose because there is usually a disconnect between what people or even organizations promise and what they deliver especially after payments are effected.

Good luck though as I don't do free demos even though there is nothing you want set up that I cannot handle in a matter of weeks not months.

@davidylan

I like the way you completely demolished the lies some tried to potray as accurate history. They come here with absolutely zero knowlegde on the history of Palestine and try to argue about how it is Arab land.

Once again well done.

That you admit to be intellectually inferior to davidylan is your own problem.

On this forum the same person that has severally claimed that Palestine did not exist until 1964 when PLO was formed came out and told us that Palestine has been there since the time of the bible.

I disagree with this writer.

PSC could not be seen as following laid down rules and procedures in dismissing Ribadu when in actual fact it did not raise any objection when Ribadu was promoted alongside others.

You don't begin to sound or look credible in the second half of a football match when in the first half you benefited from favored officiating and putting your opponent in an impossible position to defend.

Though I am not texazzpete I will answer the questions and see if you can stop justifying illegal activities.

Joanna.T:

@ texazzpete

Thank you for your answer. I used the word "undocumented immigrants" because (like many others) I reject the expression "illegal immigrants". I see that our views on the deportation issue are very different. I will not try to convince you to change your mind. I will limit myself to three questions (which I don't expect you to answer): 1. Are you of the same opinion if the immigrant has lived in the host country for years ? If s/he founded a family in this country ? Or if s/he simply fell in love with someone living in this country ? Would you be of the same opinion if you knew that the immigrant is universely considered as a good-hearted and hard-working person who brings a positive contribution to his/her community ?

Undocumented immigrants should get documented and until they do that they are illegal immigrants. It seems you are more interested in supporting illegal immigrants and counterfeit business.

Joanna.T:

2. Would you say the same if, say, your brother or sister, or a close friend, was an undocumented immigrant in danger of deportation ?

Yes. No sentiments. In fact I tell my friends and relations to always do things right to avoid running foul of the laws of any land they get to.

Joanna.T:

3. Have you ever seen the film "Blame It on Voltaire" by the French-Tunisian director Abdellatif Kechiche (it is also known under the titles "It's Voltaire's fault" and "Poetical Refugee" ? If not, I warmly recommend it to you (and all others). Not only it is a magnificent and profound film, but it also asks very important questions on undocumented immigration and the deportation of undocumented migrants.

I have not seen any film and do not need to see anyone to address the issue of illegal immigrants. I may as well ask you to go and see some Nigerian home videos for you to understand this issue.

Joanna.T:

@Afam: It seems that you haven't read my post on this killing or that you have read it very unattentively. The man who was killed (his name was Maxwell) was not the one who was chased by the police. As to your questions: it is the first Nigerian the Polish police have shot. Why was he shot ? Of course the policeman himself could answer this question, but he has not said anything on this subject. However, there is at least one witness (most probably a Nigerian) who has described this event to the media. In a minute I will post here the link to the video with the witness's story (he speaks in English and it is translated into Polish).

As I stated earlier, I don't believe in blame games, we need to know what transpired.

Pharoh:

That is the translation from google

Thanks for the post. From the post.

Another black man - We are not criminals. Do not trade in drugs, cigarettes, alcohol. We sell najki and trainers. Counterfeit goods are everywhere, but why shoot at people for selling counterfeit goods? Do not give up, we want justice. Killed our brother. We will go to the European Union.

While not supporting the killing I need to ask why people find it difficult to obey simply laws. If a country says no to counterfeit goods why engage in them? I had always asked why the guy? Why not the others? Are there reported cases where law abiding Nigerians are picked up, chased and killed by the police?

The lesson here is that some nigerians are so unsympathetic towards diasporan nigerians. They are so quick to bash them at any given opportunity. There is need for change of attitude.

Being sympathetic or not is not the issue but the fact that someone was killed and the person was not stopped on the road and shot on the spot.

How many Nigerians have they shot in Poland? Why didn't they shoot others instead of arresting them?

Why the guy? Until someone is able to tell us what really transpired especially why he was even being chased I guess we will be basing our comments on newspaper reports.

I must apologise for this.  One of the first things I learnt about social interaction is to spell, remember and pronounce people's names properly.  I understand your being touchy about the issue.

I thought it was a typographical error intially but I have now since found out it was not. In both cases when I mispelt your name, I was responding to you via my smart phone. For your information, Hamas brutally and forcefully took over power in Gaza.  This is a fact!!!

Now we are getting somewhere. Hamas won a free and fair election, in fact the election was landslide.

Fatah encouraged, funded and supported by the West continued to undermine the mandate of Hamas.

Do I really need to reproduce all these? How you make these statements that are obviously lies in the face of facts is what I cannot understand.

I can understand a mistake but when the act is deliberate with the intention to deceive, confuse and lie about an issue then there is danger.

noblezone:

hahahaha! ( I'll keep on lafyn each time we have these type of "breaking news"wink.

We shall continue to have them, as long as we refuse to address the issue of this fradulent structure called Nigeria.

The problem is not Ribadu, its beyond Ribadu and beyond the police.

Our fraudulent system empowered OBJ to use Ribadu to do his personal biddings.

Our fraudulent system empowered the likes of Ibori to influence the persecutaion of Ribadu.

Our fruadulent system has now seen Ribadu suddenly restored to the force and to the rank.

Was Alamesiegha more corrupt than Ibori? Was Joshua Dariye more corrupt than Odili?  Even Ngige was invited by the EFFC, yet no body has invited OBJ.

Ibori is now on the burner because he has lost out of "favour", yet the corrupt are waxing stronger by the day.

Tomorrow, if the President that will emerge loves to see Ribadu fried; our fraudulent system will permit him to do so. Ribadu might be "re-dismissed" with an excuse that his restoration did not follow "due process".

Its not about the rule of law, its about who is in charge. The one in-charge dictates the tune and not the law. Perhaps, if the likes of OBJ is still in charge, the likes of Peter Obi would never had got a second term.

Am I excited? NO!. For behold, one far worse than the dictator OBJ might emerge and we all shall continue to the backward journey.

Nigeria is not working: Let us come together and renegotaite the whole thing.

There are thieves in the banks, but the structure makes it hard for them to steal. And if I may borrow from Obama, "we dont need strong me, we need strong institutions".

I agree with the above.

In the interim, that is until we are ready to renegotiate we will support what makes the most sense as we cannot grind the nation to a halt just because we have not sat down to negotiate.

And yes, even in the developed nations the person in charge to a very large extent determines the policy direction of the nation so Nigeria is not really an exception.

You asked questions that are irrelevant to the discussion and proceeded to answer them based on the wrong premises you have been promoting and defending.

Israel has always been at war with Palestine and as such any authority Israel had was based on force, brutality and killings aimed at subduing the people of Palestine.

On the other hand Hamas was elected by overwhelming majority of Palestinians.

If you cannot understand the difference in the 2 cases then with all due respect I think you have a very big problem. I am not ready for this type of blind argument and irrelevant diversions.

Tayo-D:

Otawa,
Are you saying Hamas is terrorizing their own people?

Maybe you can answer the question that Adam has been avoiding. Why did the affected residents liken this action to Israel and not Fatah?

My name is Afam not Adam please.

Tayo-D:

Afam,
Again you are majoring on the minor. A set of questions should put this in perspectives for you.
1. What Government did Israel usurped when they issue or deny permit in Israel?
2. How many homes has Israel demolished in Gaza since Fatah and now Hamas became the governing authority?
3. Why did the residents accuse Hamas of doing the 6same thing as Israel?
4. What's the difference between what Israel was in Gaza and being colonized by a foreign power?

Only question number 3 is relevant here and that is what I will attempt to answer.

They believe that their homes should not be demolished regardless of who is doing the demolition.

Even in Lagos here there are people that have been affected by the demolition exercise and no matter the explanation or justification by the government they feel that their homes should not be demolished.

Hope I have answered the relevant question properly.

NB: I opted to leave out the other questions so as to avoid an endless debate where everything under the sun would be introduced in other to divert attention from the core issues.

davidylan:

It would be best if you provided proof of this clearly libelous claim. Palestine, as an entity and name, did not exist until Emperor Hadrian renamed the land of Israel following the revolt of AD 70. An ARAB PALESTINE (as a NATION) has NEVER at any point in time existed. That is a FACT you can check out yourself.

There is no way i could have claimed "palestine" did not exist until the creation of the PLO in 1964, infact Israel at some point contemplated calling itself "palestine" in 1949 and the Jerusalem post was once called the "palestinian post".

The fraudulent claims you read here are just astounding.

Now to your claim that Palestine was never colonized by Israel

- then what is the problem if Israel is not a colonizer of "palestine"? A land that was once named Israel before the Roman colonizers?

If you think I will get into another round of inconsistent and deliberate lies with you on this then you must be high on drugs.

I am glad I have pointed out the inconsistency in your position.

You lack what it takes to debate issues meaningfully so don't waste your time expecting any exchanges here.

Your response (that prompted mine before this) goes to show how you think through issues. Using google and wikipedia now will not make you knowledgeable on these issues but it could lead to confusion.

lol Palestine was a colony of the Roman Empire even as far back as the bible days.

the kind of disgusting misinformation you read on these forums makes you weep.

Palestine was never colonized by Israel was what I meant to write considering the fact that this thread was about Israel, Palestine and Hamas.

With that clarification out of the way I must thank you for providing information that proves that you are a lying hypocrite.

On this forum you and your friends have argued repeatedly that Palestine never existed until the formation of PLO in the 60's.

But to support a position you have indeed agreed that Palestine existed as a colony under the Roman empire as far back as the bible days.

Many thanks for doing this to yourself.

Tayo-D:

Afam,

We are talking about the principles here, and not trying to nail it to the minutest irrelevances. What next, are we going to say both cases are different because Hamas used a different bulldozer?

Let me make this clearer for you. We may consider the colonization of Nigeria morally reprehensible, but the fact remains that the government in Nigeria prior to independence was the British and they could have issued permits as necessary. Same applies to Isreal.

Do you wonder why the residents likened Hamas to Israel and not Fatah? You think you have a better understanding of their plight than they do?

And by the way, have u considered that Hamas actually seized power in Gaza?

Palestine was never colonized, Palestine is under occupation by a foe. Nigeria was colonized and was never at war with Britain. Is this clear now?

Hamas won a free and fair election but that did not matter to those who push and promote democracy and instead chose to recognize the very corrupt Fatah government.

Hamas had to fight their way to take what rightly belongs to them.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to clarify things.

There is no logic that can equate Israeli action to that of Hamas unless that logic is standing on its head.

An unarmed person can disarm a fully armed policeman. That is not saying he did that but to answer your question about an unarmed person being shot.

Was the guy mentally deranged? Why would they shoot the guy and not shoot those that were actually stoning the police while they were chasing the guy?

Why didn't the police kill those that actually stoned them instead of arresting them?

same was said of jean charles de menezes the alledged suicide bomber after the july 2005 attack in london. After he was murdered by 9 shots to the head by M15, the media claimed he was wearing a suicide vest, that he was running away from police, that he behaved suspiciously etc.

What happened later is now history and the poor guy has been vindicated. Its easy for you guys to criticise this nigerian, wonder if you will be this cold hearted had he been your brother or father.

Do you have anything to show or prove that he was sighted and shot by the Polish policemen? If your answer is in the negative then please focus on what can be referenced or even inferred at this point.

I always advice my people (friends and relations) never to run away from the police let alone fully armed policemen so your last paragraph does not apply to me.

If I am a policeman or soldier and you run when I ask you to stop I will fire at you without wasting time considering the fact that every single time I am on duty my life is at risk of being taken by criminals.

Again I ask - why run from the police if you have nothing to hide? Reports talked about people even stoning the policemen when they were pursuing the guy.

Tayo-D:

These cases arenot different because Isreal demolishd those houses when they were the governing authority.  They do not do so now. It will be wrong for them to do that at the time Fatah or Hamas came to power.  If you can prove such was te case, then I will concur with you. The only other demolishing that I know that Isreal carries out is the homes of suicide terrorists who kill the Jews.

The cases are different because Israel was at war with the Palestinians and as such was an occupying force with laws made by them violated, opposed and for against.

On the other hand Hamas is a legitimate authority in Palestine and they have the right to do what makes the most sense for the people of Palestine.

Tayo-D:

This is still the same as what you wrote above. Anybody could have slept with your wife legitimately before you two got married.  It is only wrong when they do so after you gys are married.  Get it?  Isreal was the rulr of Gaza up until Fatah and now Hamas.  They carried out the legitimate destruction of houses with no permits. That was a function of th govt, which Isreal was.

I clearly stated wife and I believe only a married woman qualifies to be called someone's wife.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Hamas Destroying Homes Of Palestines. by Afam(m): 11:21am On May 24, 2010
Tayo-D:

@otawa,
I believe what El Razur is trying to say is very simple.  Maybe it was just lost in the heat of debate.

Gaza has been under the rule of Isreal, Fatah and now Hamas.  Under Fatah rule, there was no report of destruction of homes by the ruling authority hence no accusation at Fatah.  However, there has been the destruction of such homes under both Isreali and Hamas rule.  These desturction in both cases came about because of invalid permits or lack thereof.  This is the simple accusation levied by the affected residents as indicated in the above report: For years, Palestinians have criticized Israel for destroying houses, mostly because they were built without permits issued by the military. Now, Rafah residents complained, their own government, run by the Islamic militant Hamas that seized power in Gaza in July 2007, has done the same.

So you see, as far as the affected residents are concerned, Hamas and Isreal are guilty of the same crime - pulling down homes for lack of permit.  This fact is simple enough that it takes Ayatollah Ikomi and co to help people misunderstand it.

Every single state has a right to demolish homes that do not have permits.

Israel seized Palestinian lands and continues to kill and maim them so they do not have any rights whatsoever to destroy their homes because every single permit issued by Israel is invalid.

Hamas, as an elected government in a free and fair election has every right to demolish homes that do not have the correct permits because it has the right to do so as the government of the people.

There is a clear difference between the two cases unless of course blind support for Israel is making it impossible to see the obvious difference.

Another example that will clarify this is

Lagos state has a right to demolish buildings within Lagos that do not have correct permits.

Benin Republic does not have such rights.

Or will any man be justified to sleep with your wife simply because you sleep with her? The issue here is the right to do anything not the act itself.

What will you expect when competent hands are not allowed to handle projects from state to private institutions it is the same story.

I was asked to do a project (alternative energy backup) for a back less than 2 years ago for N300M and after looking at the requirements and expectation I told them that even at N400M I will not go near the project as the amount would never deliver on quality project. They told me that as we were talking 6 companies have already agreed to do the project for N300M and that they were only asking me to do the project because one of their top ogas recommended me based on past projects.

I asked them to go ahead and give it to those guys as I have a name to protect and only provided facts and information to prove that the N300M will not work. After 1 month they added extra N200M to the N300M and with N500M on the table the politics and scheming became something else and I washed my hands from the dirty games via email that was copied to those that needed to know what was going on.

Suffice to state here that the project became a failure just a little after 1 year even with the N500M.

This is the type of nonsense that goes on in Nigeria and it is a huge shame.

A lot of companies and service providers lack relevant knowledge, experience and most importantly professional integrity.
