The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, recently revoked the operating licenses of some banks in Nigeria including Heritage Bank.

Yesterday, the Apex Bank said there are banks that have met its operational standard and requirement.

The safe banks CBN has no plans to revoke the operating licenses were Fidelity Bank, Wema Bank, Polaris Bank and Unity Bank.

The Senate President and the Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District at the 10th NASS has come under attack over his comment during the plenary.

In a clip that went viral on social media, Godswill Akpabio, while rounding off the sitting told the senators that a token would be sent into their respective bank accounts by the clerk to enable them enjoy their holidays.

Amazon Summit Urges Developed Nations To Fulfill Climate Obligations

Twelve countries, representing the Amazon, Congo Basin and southeast Asia, have joined the treaty for rainforest funding.

The countries called on wealthy nations to meet their climate funding obligations, on the final day of the Amazon Summit in Belem, Brazil.

In a joint statement, the body called for the development of a financing mechanism so the international community could pay for the critical services provided by forests.

“Our countries must wield more influence over the management of resources allocated to the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity,” the pact said of developing nations.

The First Bank Head of Non-Financial Transaction, Warri branch, Delta State, Andrew Nwadiashi, and eight internet fraudsters have been convicted and sentenced to prison by Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City.

They were sentenced by Justice M. Itsueli on August 04, 2023, following various charges brought against them by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Edo State Zonal Office, Benin City.
