Crime / Stanley Mensah Kodia, Man Who Insulted Akufo-addo Over NAM 1 Arrested For Fraud by Africafooty: 10:30am On Jan 14, 2021
A Ghanaian born British soldier Stanley Mensah Kodia who insulted President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over Nana Appiah Mensah alias NAM 1, embattled Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the defunct gold dealership firm has been arrested by the Property Fraud Unit of the Ghana Police Service.

The suspect was picked up on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, by police investigators after an official complaint was lodged at the unit by a businessman and an Estate Developer over the conduct of the suspect.

According to the facts of the case, the suspect and his father one Nii Okpoti Kodua in November 2015 sold 20 plots of land to the complainant at Oyarifa Gravel Pit in the Greater Accra Region.

The complainant is said to have walled the plots of land with the intention of developing them but was left in shock when he visited the area recently only to observe that the lands have encroached and resold.

A fence gate on the walled plots of land was also pulled down and several gates fixed and demarcated of which the secured lands were being developed by new owners.

An official complaint was therefore lodged with the police leading to the arrest of the suspect who is alleged to have played a key role in the entire transaction.

Police who confirmed the arrest to MyNewsGh.com, reveal that he was released on bail on Wednesday afternoon but is expected to report back as investigations.

It would be recalled that the same Stanley Mensah Kodia in 2019 accused the former Executive Director of Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) Mr. K.K Amoah of taking money and mobile phones from Nana Appiah Mensah.

In a series of posts on Facebook, the young man accused the then EOCO boss of taking over $400,000 and expensive mobile phones from Nana Appiah Mensah, adding that he also bought lots of cars for several staff of EOCO and that he’s surprised they are now describing him as a ‘Ponzi’ operator.

The man who looked confident in the Facebook video he posted, stated categorically that, he has video evidence to back his claims and that he’s ready to expose the EOCO boss and several others on radio and TV.

According to him, the Executive Director, KK Amoah took mobile phones from Nana Appiah for his girlfriend and lots of money from him. He dared that anyone should ask him, if he will deny ever taking money from Nana Appiah Mensah.

Politics / Stephanie Foundation Continues To Provide Sandals For Every Nigerian Children by Africafooty: 5:23pm On Jan 03, 2021
STEPHANIE FOUNDATION CONTINUES TO PRIVIDE SANDALS FOR EVERY NIGERIAN CHILD GOING TO SCHOOL*

As we all know, the African child is jostling to attain the most minimal education. As such it is not always easy for their parents to fend for both their education, and other tools that will aide a successful educational drill.

See this gap, Stephanie Foundation launched Sandals for every child project in 2014. Since it emergence, the foundation has produced over 63,000 sandals for children for free. This has afforded them the opportunity to keep their feet protected as they go to school.

This project is meant to help kids who cannot afford good shoes for school and those kids who cannot afford shoes atall to go to school. It will interest you to know that so many kids go to school without shoes and that can be very dangerous because they could sustain injuries on the feet which can give tetanus entrance into the body.

Tetanus which is a serious fetal disease caused by the infection of an open wound can easily enter the body through cuts and cuts can easily occur when one walks around without shoes.

Sharp objects that are rusted and infected can be stepped on easily and this can lead to tetanus gaining access into the body. So sandals for every child is a great project aimed at encouraging kids to want to go to school.  This is so because, when they remember that they have a shoe for school, they get exited and before you know it, they are getting dressed and going to school.

This project is also a means of protecting the feet from cuts.

Sandals for every child project, protects the child's feet which in turn protects the health of the child. It's only a healthy child that can live, acquire the needed education and become the leader of tommorow.

Politics / Group Tackles Ebonyi Govt Over Viral Rice Video by Africafooty: 9:51am On Dec 30, 2020
A governance and accountability group, Association of Ebonyi State Indigenes in Diaspora (AESID) has expressed shock, displeasure and downright condemnation over a viral video of bags of rice alleged to have been mistakenly sent to Human Rights Radio, Abuja by the Ebonyi State government.

In the said viral video which recently flooded Social media platforms, a yet-to-be-identified and distressed driver who reportedly conveyed the said rice where it was meant to be delivered to a serving Federal Director was seen lamenting that his payment for the delivery was stalled because he delivered the rice to the wrong address.

The boss of Human Rights Radio, Abuja is popularly known as Berekete family, Ahmed Musa is also seen in the video footages asking the young man never to lament or fidget as he would pay for the rice when and if the state government comes up to make claims.

Musa, who is known as “Ordinary President”, had while asking that the driver be given N50, 000 being payment for job done lambasted the Ebonyi State government for giving out 300 bags of branded 25kg rice to just one rich individual when poor civil servants in the state are living in abject poverty and want.

But reacting to the development through a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday by its President Amb. Pascal Oluchukwu, said his group is troubled by what he described as “uncommon but shameful Father Christmas behaviour.”

The group said the action has betrayed every logic of compassion.

“We condemn this wastage of Ebonyi’s scarce resources by a man who claims to be a father but has preferred to focus his attention on mere frivolities while using multiple decorative flyovers to deceive some gullible Nigerians.”

The group, however, called on the Ebonyi State government to speak up and tender an unreserved apology to Ebonyi people within 48 hours, adding that silence was not golden.

“Finally, we demand a more humane approach to governance issues by the Umahi-led administration that has already caused our dear people so much penury. Enough, we believe, should really be enough.”

Speaking on the development, the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Information, Uchenna Orji, described the video as a blackmail and a distraction of the real value of giving.

“I’m in charge of giving and I cannot recall gifting bags of rice to Bereke Family.

“The governor of Ebonyi, David Umahi is a man with a large heart. He is a giver and very selfless leader. It beats me as to why anyone would venture in blackmail with much pettiness.

“Sharing the rice is not the problem, but having someone dwell on the minor is unfortunate.”

Politics / Timi Frank Commences Legal Action Against FG Over Appointment Of Administrator by Africafooty: 9:29am On Dec 23, 2020
NDDC: TIMI FRANK COMMENCES LEGAL ACTION AGAINST FG OVER APPOINTMENT OF SOLE ADMINISTRATOR

Political activist and former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Comrade Timi Frank has instituted a case against the Senator Godswill Akpabio led cartel in the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC following its refusal to rescind its appointment of a Sole Administrator to pilot the affairs of the Commission.

Frank, in a statement, had warned the government against the appointment of a Sole Administrator for the NDDC as it is contrary to the Act establishing the intervention agency.

Frank, in a letter written to the President of the Nigerian Senate by the Law firm of Graylaw Solicitors; Legal, Corporate and Property Consultants and copies distributed to the media, is Protesting Against The Spending Of #453.2bn Being Approved 2020 Budget For The Nigeri Delta Development Commission (NDDC) By Effiong Okon Akwa As Sole Administrator.

According to the letter; copies were also sent to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila, the decision by Mr. President to appoint Effiong Okon Akwa as Sole Administrator to “oversee the ongoing forensic audit of the Commission”, is alien, illegal, void and seriously offends the fine provisions of Section 2, 3 and 4 of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) (Establishment Act, 2000”.

The letter further noted that there is no gainsaying the fact that the NDDC is a creation of law and cannot be operated based on the whims and caprices of President Muhammadu Buhari or any other person for that matter.

“That previous administrations allowed certain persons to act as Sole Administrator at different times while awaiting the confirmation of a Board, does not make the process legal in any manner whatsoever. What had happened in the past is simply a bad precedence set out of ignorance or negligence of the law and must not be allowed to continue. After all, illegality twenty years ago remains illegality today and forever”, the law firm stated.

The letter further cautioned that as lawmakers, the legislators must not allow themselves to be seen as lawbreakers, reminding that the Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC)
(Establishment) Act, 2000 was enacted by the National Assembly and it is only natural that same be respected both in spirit and letters.

The law firm of Graylaw Solicitors therefore DEMAND that the President of the Senate should use his good office “as a matter of urgency STOP Effiong Okon Akwa from expending the approved #453.2 billion being 2020 Budget for NDDC or any part thereof for purposes of running affairs of the Commission”.

Similar letters addressed to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and Office of the Chairman, Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs.

Politics / Timi Frank Urges Lawan, Gbajabiamila To Withhold NDDC’s 2020 Budget by Africafooty: 11:28am On Dec 22, 2020
Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has called on the leadership of the National Assembly to withhold the 2020 budget of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) it passed on Monday to a Sole Administrator recently appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Frank in separate letters to the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, said releasing the 2020 budget of the agency to an entity unknown to the NDDC’s law would amount to supporting illegality.

Writing through his lawyer, Edward Omaga, Esq., who is a Principal Partner at Graylaw Solicitors, Frank argued that on no account should the 9th National Assembly under the watch of Lawan and Gbajabiamila “be used to sanction the illegality committed by the President of Nigeria, which is clearly not in the interest of the Niger Delta people.”

The letter titled: “Protest against the spending of N453.2billlion being approved 2020 budget for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by Effiong Okon Akwa, as Sole Administrator” reads in part:

“We submit on behalf of our client that the decision by Mr. President to appoint Effiong Okon Akwa as Sole Administrator to ‘oversee the ongoing forensic audit of the Commission to its completion’ is alien, illegal, void and seriously offends the fine provisions of Sections 2, 3 and 4 of the NDDC (Establishment) Act, 2000.

“There is no gainsaying the fact that NDDC is a creation of law and cannot be operated based on the whims and caprices of President Muhammadu Buhari or any other person for that matter.

“That previous administrations allowed certain persons to act as Sole Administrators at different times while awaiting the confirmation of a Board does not make the process legal in any manner whatsoever.

“What had happened in the past is simply a bad precedence set out of ignorance or negligence of the law and must not be allowed to continue. After all, illegality twenty years ago remains illegality today and forever.”

Frank said that failure to heed his warning by the leadership of the National Assembly would leave him with no other option than to contest their action in a court of competent jurisdiction.

“Our client strongly believes that the illegal appointment of Effiong Okon Akwa as Sole Administrator of NDDC must fail when tested before a court of competent jurisdiction in the coming days.

“We therefore demand that your good offices should not for any reason authorize the spending of the approved N453.2 billion
being 2020 Budget for NDDC or any part thereof by Effiong Okon Akwa for purposes of running the affairs of the Commission.

“Take notice that our client shall be seeking redress in court against your office in the unlikely event that his demand herein is not adhered to or treated with levity.

“Whilst exercising the option of litigation, our client will neither have recourse to your office nor take into consideration the damage that may be caused by his action. We do hope that wise counsel will prevail!” the letter added.

Politics / Timi Frank Gives FG 14-day Ultimatum To Appointment NDDC Sole Administrator by Africafooty: 8:43am On Dec 21, 2020
Timi Frank Gives FG 14-day ultimatum to rescind appointment of sole administrator for NDDC

...Says Akpabio’s defense insult to Niger Deltans

Political Activist and former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Monday, gave the Federal Government a 14- day ultimatum to rescind its illegal appointment of a Sole Administrator for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) or face legal consequences.

Frank in a statement in Abuja also insisted that the defense put up by the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio for appointing his cousin, Effiong Akwa, as the new helmsman of the NDDC, was an insult to the people of Niger Delta Region.

He warned the Federal Government to immediately nominate a substantive board for the NDDC as provided for in its establishment Act or face massive streets protests in the Niger Delta region and lawsuit after the expiration of his ultimatum.

He described Akpabio’s claim that Sole Administrators had overseen the affairs of the intervention agency in the past as untenable saying “illegality 20 years ago remains illegality today and tomorrow.”

The Bayelsa-born political activist insisted that that there is no law that says that a statutory board of the NDDC cannot be in place while Akpabio is carrying out his phony forensic audit at the Commission.

He called for the arrest and prosecution of Akpabio for violating his Oath of Office by working against the interest of the people of Niger Delta and the development of the region.

He called on the Governors of the Niger Delta states, Ijaw Leader, Chief Edwin Clark, traditional rulers and all federal lawmakers from the zone to speak up in order to rescue the NDDC and stop attempts to destroy it and by extension the hopes and aspirations of Niger Deltans - living and those yet unborn.

“I appeal to all leaders in the Niger Delta to break their silence on this criminal hijack of the NDDC by Akpabio and his collaborators in the Presidency as God will not forgive us if we allow the future of our children to be mortgaged by greedy ambition and illegal scheming at the Commission,” Frank said.

He equally called on the National Assembly, especially the leaders of the opposition caucus - Minority Leader in the Senate, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe and his counterpart in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ndidi Elumelu - to ensure that the 2021 Budget of the NDDC is not approved or handed over to Effiong Akwa for onward delivery to his uncle, Akpabio.

He said that failure to act in the public’s interest on this issue would make the National Assembly an accomplice in the ongoing anti-Niger Delta arrangement to illegally divert the resources of the NDDC by one family.

“Minority Leaders in both chambers must ensure that the budget of the NDDC is not passed except they have chosen to aid and abet a ploy to arrest the development of the region.

“They must use their positions as opposition leaders in the National Assembly to ensure that the people of the Niger Delta derive maximum benefit from the Commission in terms of concrete socio-economic enhancements,” he said.

He said that the hijack of the NDDC by Akpabio portents doom for the Agency and people of the region who have continued to languish in abject poverty occasioned by environmental degradation following decades of oil exploration in the region.

He said: “The NDDC is not a family empire where Akpabio can appoint his cousin as Sole Administrator.

“It is disheartening that the primary objective of setting up the NDDC was abandoned immediately Akpabio took over as Minister and made sure that the agency was removed from the Presidency and placed under his ministerial portfolio.”

He equally vowed to legal action against the leadership of the National Assembly should they proceed to approve the 2021 budget of the Commission under the present illegal management being supervised by a Sole Administrator.

Politics / Timi Frank Condemns Appointment Of Sole Administrator For NDDC by Africafooty: 8:57am On Dec 14, 2020
Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Monday, condemned in strong terms, the appointment of a Sole Administrator (SA) for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Frank who made this assertion in a statement in Abuja, insisted that the appointment of SA to manage the affairs of the NDDC is illegal as there is no such provision in the Act establishing the Commission.

He urged the governors of States in the region and elected representatives of the people in both Chambers of the National Assembly, as well as the people of the area to outrightly reject the abnormality.

He warned that appointing SA which is against the Act establishing the Commission is “detrimental, unproductive and will end up in further destroying the already worsened situation in the NDDC.”

He vowed to challenge the appointment of the Sole Administrator in a court of competent jurisdiction should the Federal Government refuse to rescind its decision.

He noted that following the assumption of Senator Godswill Akpabio as the minister of Niger Delta Affairs, there has been an alarming rise in acts of illegalities in the Commission some of which were exposed by Committees of the National Assembly that recently probed embarrassing corrupt practices in the agency.

Frank, a consistent advocate for good governance, rule of law and equitable development of the Niger Delta region and her people, added that the already discovered cases of looting in the NDDC will get worse with the appointment of a Sole Administrator “who will ultimately be used as tool for personal gain by the cabal that facilitated his appointment and thus create ample room for more fraud, impunity and illegalities in the intervention agency.”

He urged the leaders of the Niger Delta region to reflect on the sacrifices of their leaders past, while he insisted that, “this was not what the likes of late Isaac Boro and Saro Wiwa paid the supreme price for.”

Frank said: “I want to use this medium to call upon the elders, governors and youths of the Niger Delta to reject this appointment of a stooge by Godswill Akpabio and his cohorts in the Presidency to further do their bidding in the continued impoverishment of our dear region and people.

“The reign of impunity, fraud and illegalities in the commission must not be allowed to continue.

“Why is Akpabio and his cohorts in the presidency refusing to appoint a substantive Board for the NDDC, but instead, they have moved from an Interim Management Committee to a Sole Administrator that is not known by the Act establishing the NDDC?

“If Akpabio is honest, transparent and has no skeleton or ulterior notions, why appoint a Sole Administrator from Akwa Ibom state that is against the extant Act which clearly states that the Managing Director of the NDDC must come from either Delta or Bayelsa states?”

He further warned that the appointment of a Sole Administrator was against the growth and development of the region as those behind the reprehensible development are only interested in the continued pillaging of the resources of the NDDC.

“No government since the return of democracy in Nigeria has ever stood against the development and prosperity of the people of the Niger Delta region like the regime of General Muhammadu Buhari and this, we must resist.

“The refusal to ensure that the right thing is done, will lead to protests by the good people of the Niger Delta because despite the claims of conducting a forensic audit of the NDDC, no report has been issued till date.

“This is condemnable, despicable and an outright deviation from the purpose of establishing the NDDC which is to ensure an even development of the Niger Delta region and her people. What we have today is the Niger Delta Sharing and Impoverishment Commission.”

“The NDDC is not a platform for the settlement of cronies but a commission that will help accelerate the development and growth of the Niger Delta region.

“Akpabio is only taking advantage of the people of the Niger Delta region through the Commission knowing too well that there is no President in charge of this country.

“Therefore, the needful must be done if we, genuinely, want the development and growth of the Niger Delta,” he declared.

NSCDC COMMENCE PROTECTION OF FARMERS AND FARMLANDS, AS NIGERIANS SEEK MORE FUNDING FOR THE AGENCY

In line with the killings and recent Massacre of over 40 rice farmers in Garin Kwashebe, Jere Local Government Area of Borno State on Saturday, by suspected Boko Haram terrorists, one would be forced to wonder what the Nigeria Military is doing to protect lives and properties, especially with the huge funds consistently provided to fight insurgency and insecurity in the Country.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps-NSCDC, has therefore made a huge step in managing the problems, as they decide to henceforth support the protection of Farmers and their farmlands in Communities across Borno state. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps-NSCDC commenced the operation of protection Farmers and Farmlands in a bid to stymie the incessant killings and attacks on Farmers and Farmlands in Borno state and across Nigeria.

In a remark by one of the Farmers in Jere LGA, name withheld, he stated that the new operations by NSCDC to provide security for farmers in their farmlands was indeed commendable. He however called on Federal Government to support the operations through funding and other relevant necessities, so as to encourage the Initiative.

Another angered Farmer who also spoke with our Reporter, however used the medium to call on the Nigeria Army and other military agencies to emulate such innovative security Initiative developed by NSCDC. He however called on more funding for NSCDC, as it appears that they are underfunded, though working proactively to improve the security of lives and properties in Nigeria.

Politics / #endsars: Ex-apc Chieftain Lauds CNN’s Report On Lekki Tollgate Shootings by Africafooty: 9:20am On Nov 19, 2020
Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Thursday, commended the Cable Network News (CNN) for its in-depth report on the Lekki Tollgate shooting of innocent #EndSARS protesters by men of the Nigerian Army.

He thanked the international news medium for helping to expose the truth about how soldiers invaded the Tollgate and pumped live ammunition into peaceful protesters that killed and wounded scores of Nigerian youths on Tuesday October 10, 2020.

He noted that by the well-researched investigative story, the CNN has helped to put a lie to the false claims by the Nigerian Army that its soldiers fired blank into the air on that “bloody night of bullets.”

He said it was a good thing that the news outlet helped to uncover the cover-up of the Major General Muhammadu Buhari-led regime, the Lagos State Government, the Nigerian Army and the police concerning the gruesome massacre of peaceful protesters at the Lekki Toll Plaza.

The Bayelsa-born political activist, said he was optimistic that the overwhelming evidence unearthed in the report would aid the International Criminal Court (ICC) in prosecuting those who perpetuated the dastardly act including Buhari, Governor Babajide Sanwolu, Chief of Army Staff, General Tukur Buratai and the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu for aiding and abetting the commission of Crimes Against Humanity (CAH).

He called on the ICC to carry out its own diligent investigation on the massacre as well as ensure that officials found culpable are brought to justice anywhere in the world they're are spotted outside the shores of Nigeria.

He noted that the Buhari’s regime has been doing all it can to suppress the truth about the Lekki massacre before the CNN exposed their satanic lies with graphic evidence.

He lamented that despite the international opprobrium that trailed the Lekki Tollgate massacre, the Federal Government has continued to threaten Nigerian youths by vowing not to allow a similar protest rather than show remorse.

He further lamented that the present anti-people’s regime of Buhari has continued to violate the fundamental human rights of innocent Nigerian youths through myriads of inhuman acts meant to intimidate and oppress those believed to have taken part in the #EndSARS protests.

He called on the genuine #EndSARS protesters not to give in to arrests, intimidation harassment, court trials and imprisonments in their struggle to make the country a better place for all Nigerians.

He said even if the present crop of uncaring and corrupt government officials escape justice in the courts of men, the blood of those killed and maimed by SARS on the one hand and soldiers at the Lekki Tollgate shootings would hunt them and their families forever.

“The blood of the innocent lives lost will hunt all those that connived and killed peaceful protesters at the Lekki Tollgate. They may may thwart the justice of men but will definitely not escape the justice of God,” he declared.

Politics / Fuel Price Hike: NLC Out To Deceive Nigerians, Says Timi Frank by Africafooty: 9:28am On Nov 18, 2020
Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has called on Nigerians not to be deceived by the empty threats being made by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) over the recent additional increase in fuel price.

Frank who was reacting to the accelerated increases in the price of fuel within few months by the Federal Government, said it was sad that the NLC that is supposed to fight for the welfare of workers and by extension the masses, has betrayed Nigerians.

He said rather than champion the cause of the ordinary Nigerian, the NLC has sold out and thus become a tool of deception and oppression in the hands of the government.

He described the NLC’s statement rejecting the present fuel price increase as a “Nollywood script” as “Nigerians know that they have connived and agreed to the increase before it was announced by the Federal Government.

He called on Nigerians to take their destiny in their hands by resisting the anti-people, anti-democratic and wicked policies and programmes of the Major General Muhammadu Buhari’s regime.

He challenged the NLC to make public its agreement with the Federal Government following the last sharp increases in electricity tariffs and the pump price of petrol in September.

He said: “It is clear that the present leadership of the NLC and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have traded the welfare of workers for their personal enrichment.

“The NLC has since abandoned the struggle after prolonged winning and dinning with King Nebuchadnezzar. It has lost its mettle as the guardian and protector of workers’ interests.

“Their voices are silent because their throats are filled with inducements. They now mewing like cats instead of roaring like lions. They have lost their Aluta venom and sting.

“The NLC claimed to have entered into an agreement with the FG when the latter surreptitiously jacked up the price of fuel and electricity tariffs.

“Today, those prices did not only stand, the Federal Government has gone ahead to again effect a new increase in the price of petrol at the time prices of crude oil have plummeted at the international market.

“Let the NLC leave Nigerians alone. Nigerians can fight for themselves and they will fight to defeat this evil regime in the next election.”

He however warned the Federal Government not to take the patience and long suffering of Nigerians for granted.

He also urged Buhari and his hirelings now holding Nigerians hostage not to forget the fate that befell past African despots who impoverished and inflicted pains on their people, history will judge all oppressors harshly, negatively and poorly just like it has done to Charles Taylor, Mobutu Sese Seko, Omar al-Bashir, Laurent Gbagbo, etc.

“A day is coming when Nigerians will fight and they will fight hard to reclaim their country from this evil and corrupt cabal now illegally occupying public offices and oppressing the people,” he declared.

Politics / Timi Frank Condemns Suit Against Yesufu, Davido, Falz, Tiwa Savage, Banky-W by Africafooty: 11:57am On Nov 11, 2020
...Says hold Buhari, DSS responsible for any harm that befalls Nigerian celebrities

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Wednesday, condemned, in its entirety, the suit purportedly filed by an activist against 50 prominent members of the #EndSARS protesters at a Magistrate’s Court in Abuja.

Frank in a statement in Abuja, insisted that while the plaintiff claimed to be an activist, he has credible intelligence that the APC’s administration is behind the suit which aims to indict the peaceful protesters and pave way for their unlawful incarceration.

He called on Nigerians to hold President Muhammadu Buhari and the Department of State Services (DSS) responsible over any harm that may befall any member of the #EndSARS protesters, including activists and celebrities now listed in the proxy suit.

He said that the Buhari’s regime has perfected the filing of court processes by proxy by engaging gullible quasi activists as fronts to move against perceived opposition elements as evident in a similar petition to the Code of Conduct Tribunal that led to the illegal removal of the immediate past Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) from office.

Nevertheless, he called on Aisha Yesufu, Folarin Falana (Falz), David Adeleke (Davido), Bankole Wellington (Banky W), Tiwa Savage, Nwankwo Kanu and Sam Adeyemi, and 43 other #EndSARS protesters not to be intimidated by the shenanigans of the Federal Government through the kangaroo suit.

He urged them to remain resolute in their quest to end brutality and impunity in the governance of the country, as no victory comes cheap and easy.

He urged Nigerians to pray for all #EndSARS protesters so as to thwart the evil machinations of the Federal Government against them.

He urged the Federal Government as they embark on this vindictive and frivolous voyage of prosecution of #EndSARS protesters to be mindful of recent uprisings in Mali and Sudan where security forces, backed by government, killed and arrested scores of protesters but at the end of the day the will of the people prevailed.

He wondered why the Buhari’s regime would seek to prosecute peaceful protesters who were demanding for their rights to be safe from harassment, torture and brutality in the hands of the recently disbanded Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the Nigeria Police while killer Fulani herdsmen, bandits and Boko Haram insurgents are not being prosecuted with similar zeal.

He said that it was ironic that while the Lagos State Government has ordered the unconditional release of over 250 persons believed to have hijacked the #EndSARS protests to perpetrate criminal activities, the Federal Government is moving against those who protested peacefully.

According to the Bayelsa-born political activist, majority of present APC leaders including Buhari protested against the administration of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan in 2012 and 2015 but the government did not attack, harass, intimidate, arrest nor prosecute any of them like they are presently doing to peaceful #EndSARs protesters.

He declared that members of the Buhari administration would not escape justice at the international community even if they cloak themselves with official power to hide their excesses.

He revealed that following the ongoing witch hunt of #EndSARS protesters, Nigerians in Diaspora have set up a 14 member committee to identify and document properties owned by present government officials.

He said after the collation, the list would be attached to petition to the Governments of countries where such properties are located.

He said such governments would be expected to probe the sources of funding for the properties and to call for the forfeiture of those acquired illegally.

He called on Nigerians to be firm in their resolve to end looting, corruption, cruelty and impunity in the country irrespective of any act of aggression against them by the present administration.

Politics / Biden-harris Election: Frank Urges Nigerian Voters To Take Cue From Americans by Africafooty: 1:20pm On Nov 08, 2020
Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Sunday, congratulated former United States Vice Present, Joe Biden, as President-elect.

Frank in a statement in Abuja also congratulated the first African-American woman Vice President-elect of the United States, Senator Kamala Harris.

He called on Nigerian voters to take a cue from the US voters especially the way they have used their ballots to rewrite the history of their country and redeem her dwindling international image.

He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to borrow a leaf from the US Presidential Election how elections can be conducted transparently and every vote made to count.

He called on President Donald Trump to accept the results of the US 2020 presidential polls and to bow out gracefully having made his mark in the last four years.

He thanked Biden for lending a voice to the EndSARS protests which is a sign that he is aware of the Mis-governance in Nigeria.

He called on Biden and the American government under the new administration not only to strictly implement a VISA ban for soldiers who killed innocent protesters at the Lekki Tollgate, but to also indict state and federal government officials who ordered and aided the massacre, and also to push for Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) Buhari’s trial at the International Criminal Court (ICC) for crimes against humanity, as well as take other strong measures to ensure justice for Nigerians who are victims of SARS brutality and other harsh economic policies of the present administration.

He thanked a former Secretary of State of the United States, Hillary Clinton for her role in the emergence of Biden and for speaking out against impunity and oppression in Nigeria and Africa at large.

“Nigeria is looking forward to, not only to strict enforcement of the US VISA ban already in place for elections riggers in our country but that America should push for the prosecution of General Buhari (rtd.), top presidency officials, military authorities and their families at the ICC over their complicity in the Lekki massacre,” Frank said.

The Bayelsa-born political activist added: “During your time as Vice President, the US played a major role in making Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) the President of Nigeria, it is now imperative that your administration equally help to checkmate the excesses, bigotry, human rights abuses, impunity and massive corruption inherent in the Buhari’s administration.

“Let this election mark the beginning of a new chapter in the America-Africa relationship especially by opening up more economic and immigration opportunities for poor and vulnerable Africans especially Nigerians, into the United States.

“As US President-elect, your soon to be inaugurated administration must help to hold Nigeria political office holders accountable for their impunity and illegal detention of citizens including journalists who are agents of good governance.

“The US under your leadership must ensure that Nigeria resources are not brazenly looted. Above all, it must make it impossible for present political office holders in the country to criminally stash Nigeria's money away in any country of the world, going forward.

“I want you to help Nigeria get it right democratically by making its institutions work for the people, notwithstanding the political party in power or the individual that is President.”

Politics / Timi Frank Urges EFCC, ICPC To Probe Governors, Agencies Hoarding Palliatives by Africafooty: 4:52pm On Oct 25, 2020
...Demands distribution of COVID-19 donations to Nigerians

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Sunday, urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) to probe and prosecute Governors and Government agencies hoarding COVID-19 palliatives
meant for Nigerians.

He also called on the President, General Muhammadu Buhari to urgently share all the money donated to the Federal Government as COVID-19 support to poor and vulnerable persons in the country.

Frank who made these assertions in a statement in Abuja said that both the Federal and state governments should be blamed for deliberately keeping away what rightly belong to the people.

He said that videos on social media showing thousands of Nigerians besieging government warehouses and forcefully helping themselves with such food items underscore the level of hunger and deprivation in the land.

He warned Governors and Federal Government agencies who still have such food items locked up in their warehouses to immediately release them for distribution to the hungry masses or face the wrath of the people.

Frank said: “Why should Government continue to warehouse food items donated to it while the people are hungry? Did they forget the saying that a hungry man is an angry man?

“The action of government in keeping food items meant to cushion the effects of the ongoing pandemic among the poor and vulnerable, I dare say, speaks of their callousness, insensitivity, wickedness and man’s inhumanity to man.

“Government should not forget that most Nigerians lost their jobs and other sources of livelihood as a result of the pandemic.

“Must they be reminded that Nigerians are dying silently under the yoke of bad government policies, corruption and the greed of those that are today in position of authority?

“Where they by any chance keeping the food items for the 2023 campaigns as some state governors did in the past with relief materials meant for flood victims?

“We demand that all monies received by the Federal Government as support from international agencies, local businesses and philanthropists should immediately be distributed among vulnerable Nigerians who need to survive the current hardship in the country.

“Again, it must be noted that the sheer multitude of persons seen around government warehouses in the past few days show that the Buhari’s administration has driven over 100 million Nigerians into poverty rather than fulfilling its mantra of taking 100 million Nigerians out of poverty.

I also urge on the President to immediately and urgently setup a presidential panel of enquiry to probe the governors and the federal government agencies responsible for this heinous and careless act and anyone found culpable must face the full wrath of the law unlike previous lip service enquiry reports that were swept under the carpet.

“We call on the Federal and State Governments to retrace their egotistical steps and embrace policies that would give the youths jobs and put bread on their table.

Anything short of urgent measures to pacify the youths and address the growing hunger in the land would amount to another disaster waiting to happen. God forbid.”

Politics / Nigerians In Calgary Stand Together Against Police Brutality In Nigeria by Africafooty: 7:48am On Oct 20, 2020
On Saturday, October 17 2020, a group of local community members will come together
to peacefully protest the ongoing police brutality of innocent citizens in Nigeria, and call for the end of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) as well as the overall restructuring of the Nigerian Police Force.

This peaceful event will take place at the Peace Bridge in Calgary and will start at 12noon.

The ongoing peaceful protests stem from a repeated pattern of harassments and extra-judicial killings mostly of young Nigerians by armed police officials, particularly those from SARS.

Attached to this press release is a list of
some of the victims.

We will continue to advocate for justice for the victims of SARS and their families, as well as track and document other victims with our ongoing #VictimsOfSARS campaign.

Curiously, since the peaceful protests against these atrocities began about a week ago across major cities in Nigeria, at least 10 protesters have been killed according to Amnesty International.

They include Jimoh Isiaq (20, killed by a stray bullet in Ogbomosho) and Ikechukwu Ilohamauzo (55, killed by a stray bullet in Lagos).

Despite pronouncements made by President Muhammadu Buhari (on October 12, 2020) as well as the Inspector General of Police - Mohammed Adamu - (October 11 & 13, 2020), the situation has not improved. Indeed, their utterances suggest a fundamental disconnect with the youths seeking a lasting peace and genuine reforms of the country's security architecture.

For instance, the IGP on Tuesday (October 13, 2020) announced a new squad, the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), to "fill the gaps" left by the notorious SARS unit he had officially banned two days earlier which doesn't address the immediate concerns.

Though the 5-point demand of protesters seem to have been accepted by a Presidential Panel on Tuesday, its full implementation is yet to be realized which include the psychological evaluation and retraining of all disbanded SARS officers.

We hereby use this medium to request the support of the international community particularly the Prime Minister of Canada (Justin Trudeau), the Premier of Alberta (Jason Kenney) as well as the Mayor of Calgary (Naheed Nenshi) to use their good offices and invaluable influence to prevail on our elected officials back home, through any means necessary, to do what is right by our people in ensuring a lasting peace is reached and human rights (which Canada is known globally to stand firmly for) are respected.

We thank everyone, both home and abroad, who has extended their show of solidarity to us at this challenging moment in our rich history.

Confirmed SARS Victims
1. Solomon Yellowe (killed March 13th in Port Harcourt by officers Samuel Sunday, Friday Ikoko and Mike
(team leader of SARS) in Rupkokwu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State)
2. Chijioke Iloanya
3. Tunde Nafiu
4. Tina Ezekwe
5. Ayomide Taiwo
6. Fredrick
7. Christian Onuigbo (28 years old, shot by SARS in Abuja on March 19, 2009 and died 2 days later)

8. Chibuike Anams (23 years old, a student, shot to death on July 24, 2009 by SARS in Elimgbu, Rivers
State)

9. Kolade Johnson (killed by Police on March 31, 2019 in Lagos while watching an English Premiership
match between Liverpool & Tottenham)

Politics / Oil Mogul, Jack Rich, Accused Of Stealing N2.1billion From Sales Of Crude Oil by Africafooty: 11:59am On Oct 17, 2020
A criminal oil company illegally sold 137,629 barrels of Bonny Light crude in June 2020 from OML 55 through the black market, pocketed the proceeds after reporting to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, that they had no production.

Belema Oil owned by Tien Jack-Rich defrauded Nigeria of over N2.1billion in the month of June 2020 alone from the illegal sale of the Bonny light Crude which sold at N41.80 per barrel as of June 2020.

The approval limit granted BelemaOil by the NNPC is 10,000 barrels per day but in the month of June, the company told NNPC it recorded no production when its records showed that four of the oil fields that make up OML 55, indeed produced thousands of Bonny Light Crude.

Pointblanknews.com investigations reveal that Jack Rich, a notorious oil fraud who has been promised the 2023 Presidential ticket, shipped Bonny Light crude produced from his OML 55 through unmarked vessels in the coastal depot belt of the Niger Delta of Nigeria to countries in Europe.

The proceeds according to sources, are shared with Babagana Kingibe, the Sultan of Sokoto, Mohammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, Ibrahim Gambari, the Chief of Staff to President Mohammadu Buhari, and other influential members of the Cabal who have promised to ensure he gets the All Progressive Congress, APC, Presidential ticket ahead of the 2023 elections.

Jack Rich is obsessed with becoming the President of Nigeria in 2023 and has lobbied everyone close to President Mohammadu Buhari. He recently built a Mother and Child Hospital in Daura, Buhari’s own town in Katsina State, North West Nigeria.

Sources confirmed that as of the last count, Jack Rich has made over $70million in cash from illegal sales of Bonny Light Crude through the black market.

Pointblanknews.com gathered that in the event he is not paid cash at the point of delivery of the illegally sold crude, jack Rich provides account information of proxies who are paid by the buyers.

“He has been doing that for a long time since the dispute surrounding the OML55 was resolved. In the month of June alone, he told NNPC that there was no production when in actual fact OML 55 produced thousands of barrels,” a source told Pointblanknews.com

Documents from Belema Oil obtained by Pointblanknews.com shows that the Quantity of crude produced in the month of June is as follows: 5th June 2020, 5,571 barrels net, 7th June 2020, 5,767 barrels net, 9,189 barrels net 8th June 2020, 9th June 2020 9,745 barrels net, 10th June 2020, 9,946 barrels net, 11th June 2020, 9,862 barrels net.

And 20th June 2020, 8,184 barrels net, 21st June 2020 9,490 barrels net, 22nd June 2020, 22nd June 2020, 9,471 barrels net, totaling 137,629 barrels of bonny light crude oil stolen only in June, sources in knowledgeable with his schemes told Pointblanknews.com that he does that every month.

OML 55 current producing Fields are Robertkiri, Idama, Jokka, Inda, and Belema North. It has an estimated hydrocarbon reserve of circa 350 mmboe. It was previously operated by NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture (JV) but handed over to Belemaoil Producing Limited, in a joint partnership with NNPC in February 2015.

OML 55 is about 40km west of Bonney Terminal and located in the mangrove swamp to shallow water offshore in the south-eastern part of the Niger Delta and covers an area of 852km² approximately

Pointblanknews.com is in possession of financial records of Jack Rich and Belemaoil and would release details of findings, how funds were being laundered, and the details of vessels used for the illegal sales of crudes in coming days.

Timi Frank: U.S. Govt’s VISA ban on election riggers will strengthen Nigeria’s democracy

...Urges UK, EU to follow suit

...Wants INEC Officials, Security Agents, Judges, party leaders included in Visa ban

Comrade Timi Frank on Tuesday commended the Government of the United States on its ban on election riggers in Nigeria, especially during the conduct of the November 2019 governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa States.

Frank, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in a statement in Abuja, described the announcement by the US Government as a commendable step that will further strengthen the nation’s democracy.

He also called on the US Government to include the wives and children of all affected politicians, security operatives and judges who help validate fraudulent elections results at Tribunals and the appellate courts.

He recalled that he made a similar appeal in a statement in July 2019.

He noted that election riggers are enemies of Nigeria as their actions are responsible in part for the insecurity, poverty and social dislocation in the country.

He said: “The US Government must be commended for this move which is in furtherance of its commitment to strengthening democracy in Nigeria as it would help checkmate individuals who have operated with impunity at the expense of the generality of the Nigerian populace.

“This Visa Restrictions should also be extended to recalcitrant Judges, INEC officials, Security agencies and political party chieftains who aided and abetted the rigging of the Kogi and Bayelsa States governorship elections while those who perpetuate similar crimes in the Edo and Ondo polls should not be spared.

“For our democracy to survive, all true lovers of democracy must ensure that the elections in Edo and Ondo states produce genuine leaders who will pilot the affairs of these two states.”

The Bayelsa-born political activist also urged the Government of the United Kingdom and the European Union to emulate the action of the United States’ Government by placing a similar visa ban on judges, security agents and their leaders, and appointees of government who have been undermining the nation’s democracy through subversion of election processes.

He said they should also ensure that members of the National Assembly and other persons who would want to partake in the destruction of the nation’s nascent democracy are prevented from doing so.

Politics / Frank Urges Nlc,tuc, csos To Shutdown Nigeria Over Fuel Price, Electricity Tariff by Africafooty: 3:05pm On Sep 03, 2020
Frank urges NLC, TUC, CSOs to shutdown Nigeria over fuel price, electricity tariff hike

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank on Thursday urged the leadership of the organised Labour in Nigeria to mobilise and shutdown the country in reaction to astronomical hike in fuel price and electricity tariff by the Federal Government.

He also called on the National Assembly to urgently reconvene and speak on behalf of Nigerians who elected them just like the 7th National Assembly did in 2012 when fuel was increased from N65.00 to N140.00 by the administration of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, in January 2012.

Frank who made these assertions in a statement in Abuja, also strongly condemned the increase in the price of petrol from N148.50 to N151.56 per litre by the Pipeline Products Marketing Company (PPMC) and electricity tariff from N22.00 to N66.00 per kilowatt by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

He called on the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigerian (PENGASSAN), Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Nigerian Median Association (NMA), Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and other Civil Society Organisation (CSOs),to rise up and defend weak, poor and helpless masses in the face of this massive and unbearable onslaught against their very being.

“The NLC has rejected the evil price increase through a statement, it is now time for the Ayuba Wabba leadership of the Union to match their words with action on the streets just like ex-NLC President, Abdulwaheed Omar, did in collaboration with the Change Nigeria Group (CNG) in 2012,” Frank said.

He said that the fuel price and electricity tariff increase are most untenable especially at a period when crude oil prices have plummeted internationally and while majority of Nigerians who are unmetered are languishing under the yoke of estimated billing respectively.

“The action of the Federal Government in hiking the prices of essentials goods and services, like fuel and electricity, is tantamount to removing economic ventilators from majority of Nigerians on life support due to COV-poverty.

“This is manifestly anti-God, anti-people, unacceptable, provocative, oppressive, insensitive, wicked, satanic and a total negation of the social contract between a people and its Government,” Frank declared.

According to him, since the primary function of Government is to seek the welfare and security of its citizens, the Federal Government must as a matter of urgency increase the nation’s minimum wage to N100,000.00 to mitigate its induced rise in the cost of living.

He called on the Major Gen. Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to urgently reverse the increases as well as reduce its over- bloated cost of governance by 50 per cent in order to conserve scarce resources.

The Bayelsa-born political activist lamented that rather than follow international best practices in giving Nigerians stimulus packages to cushion the harsh effects of the current economic downturn, occasioned by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Federal Government has chosen to deliberately inflict pain and impoverish Nigerians.

“The duty of Government is to shield its people, especially the poor and vulnerable population, from the harsh effects of market forces and not to heap pain and anguish on them under the guise of full deregulation.

“Why have they chosen to increase the burdens of Nigerians rather than lighten them?
Why have they chosen to give Nigerians stones instead of bread? Why have they chosen to give Nigerians snakes instead of fish?

“It is dangerous for the Federal Government to aid a tiny cabal in preying on the people in order to satisfy their ostentatious cravings,” Frank said.

According to him, the Federal Government should be mindful of political upheavals in Sudan and Mali following its kind of anti-people policies and actions.
