Beginning from August, 2020, we shall also be looking at some of the traditions that are still in practice in Uneme Communities with the view of documenting them. Uneme operate four days (4) weekly calendar and each of the days has specific dos and donts. For instance, 1. On Ewo day (Market Day), Uneme don't collect Usomikpigho (brideprices) from their soon-to-be son In-laws. 2. On same day, Uneme don't bury their corpses and if for any reason such corpse must be buried, not all the sand will be returned back to the grave till the following day. 3. Still on same day, Uneme don't gather for Obesa (9th day) for the dead. 4. On Ewo day, Uneme don't celebrate Ukpe Festival. And many more. Keep your tabs with The Explorer Magazine as we set to unveil the rich cultural heritage of the people highly revered for blacksmithing, Uneme Kingdom. The above relate precisely with Uneme-Erhurun community. For contribution or inquiring contact us on: 08067500548, +234 806 112 0602 theexplorermagazine.press.com.
