@ Jisola, Tot the question you posed refers to you as you still have a lot to do the last time I checked.

@ Edjebites, I look forward to seeing you all. Cheers and one love.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 9:12am On Jul 15, 2009
@ all, looks like aspiring hopefuls have taken over this thread. It is expected. It appears its about time to sign out as we count down to Edjeba. This thread has by itself transformed into a hall of fame for SITP.

COUNTDOWN TO SITP 2009
16 DAYS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 1:41pm On Jul 11, 2009
Good to be back and happy to learn that some persons are being called for medicals, thanks to IPS students who opted out. I know one IPS student who did his medicals and I am wondering why go through the whole process and reject it at the 11th hour? Could it be the fear of job loss or militancy?

Let me try to dispel every fear, as had been expressed herein in previous posts, that SHELL is still recruiting up till this moment. Yes, it is true that production is low owing to the ceaseless sabotage in the delta. Yes, its also true that there are job losses in SHELL, but let me quickly add that those of us been recruited now are members of staff of the future as post SITP would still be about capacity building (training and classes) to mould us into decision makers of very expensive high tech projects in no less than 3-5 years.

Be rest assured that those been sacked are members of staff who fell short of the basic PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL minimum. We can only be appraised after a smooth integration into SCiN.

Let me join douecho in the countdown campaign:

SITP 2009,
20 DAYS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 8:33pm On Jul 04, 2009
@ Edoblakky, let me first throw a belated congrats your way. I've been a bit occupied in the last two days hence my getting the news rather late. Praise be to God.

I want to use your 'miracle' as a point of contact to others who are still on the 12 months waiting list. God's placement and timing with respect to shell shall be made manifest in your lives. Did I hear many Amen(s)??

It is well.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 9:03am On Jul 02, 2009
@ ti-ebe (funny pseudonym), thanks 4 your candid advise. It is noted and well taken by all I suppose. Are you an offer holder, hopeful, had gone through SITP, or know someone who had/works there? Give us an insight into what inspired your thought/admonition so much so that you thought it wise to share it with the rest of us-many of whom are largely gullible. You'll do us a whole lot of good if you told us more. Thanks in anticipation.

To @ all who have similar experiences or have heard from some other persons, dont you think it is an interesting recipe for this thread, more so for the times we are now. I think it would be an interesting twist to the thread now, but of course not 4getting our countdown buzz as strongly administered by @ osina wata, douecho et al.

Look 4ward to seeing/reading more contributions. Many thanks.

@ 10gGod, welcome back from your journey. I admire your faith and enjoin others who so believe to toe your line and trust that we shall all meet @ Edjeba come 1st August, all things being equal.

@ all, hw far?
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 7:10pm On Jun 28, 2009
I enjoin you all to join the bandwagon;

COUNT DOWN TO 2009 SITP
33 DAYS TO GO

There appears to be a phobia 4 this thread. It is festering and contagious. Lets all reject it and revive the same old spirit.

@ douecho, opensame, osina wata, nkenke, babake, otr, Jisola and the others where are you all?

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 8:45pm On Jun 25, 2009
I hope @ all have not begun to develop apathy for this thread? Its begging for appetizers!!!!!!! I hope the intensive training bug has not caught up with everybody so much so that we have begun to jack at the expense of the thread that, only recently, was a daily tonic? How things change. Or perhaps we are still absorbed in that job for which resignation is increasingly becoming a taboo. Anyway its a pill we'll still force down our throats somehow.

Some of us who got the non-core technical job offers, I understand, would not be involved with the rest of us at Edjeba, rather they are starting their first assignments immediately. How free they are of the much dreaded 'intensive training' even though our compensation and benefits remain the same. Well, for me, its the fulfillment of doing what you are passionate about that's the catch.

I join Osina wata to thunderously echo COUNTDOWN TO 2009 SITP: 36 DAYS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 9:14pm On Jun 23, 2009
@ Godeagle while not overflogging the issue, I'm sure that those of us who were given offers, and those to come,  were/are not necessarily the best, neither were/are we the smartest. Its just God's placement relative to His timing for each and everyone of us. He sure has a placement for you some where that just suits His purpose for you or His timing for shell is yet to come. Either way, do not waiver in your faith in Him. I admire your courage. Pls keep in touch. We love you.

@ all, keep the flame burning, the countdown is on.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 9:21pm On Jun 22, 2009
The thread is becoming drab. Anyway its understandable in view of the paucity of info. Looks like the militants have shifted their base to Rivers where they attacked three facilities (of course shell's). While it seems like mixed feelings (in the sense that they've left Delta 4 Rivers), the fact remains that its still SHELL that bears the brunt and remotely or otherwise our income ultimately. It is my hope that the olive branch, in the name of amnesty, that the Govt is extending to them would be enduring and bear fruits, AMEEEEEEN,

@ Nkenke, I guess you are leaving more gaps/spaces to be filled. Otherwise hw can one explain ;d ;d ;d :d as advertised on your post. Please you owe us some explanations. Don't you think?

@ Osinawata, I'm sincerely sorry for not including you in my countdown gratitude. It remained incomplete until now that I've acknowledged it. My sincere apologies. Once again, MORE GREASE TO YOUR SHELL-LIKE ELBOW.

@ douecho, babake2020, opensame, otr, I no forget una o. I hail o!!!!!!!!

@ all, I wish us all, bystanders inclusive, a nice and fruitful week ahead as we anticipate some respite across the Delta.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 12:25pm On Jun 22, 2009
Hussyhassy, You are always going adrift. Why? Take time out to follow the trend of issues b4 making any post so that we dont jump into wrong conclusions. Anyway, No yawa. The countdown is for offer holders.

House, Any news or gist. Lets keep this thread alive,
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 8:52pm On Jun 19, 2009
@ babake, I agree with you. The link on your post is quite revealing and scary. I however take solace in opensame's post and hope that his/our collective expectations with respect to its not disrupting the SITP programme comes to pass. Did I hear many amen(s)?

The countdown continues with the above in mind even as we expect to hear more IV med hopefuls give testimonies of what could perhaps be dubbed a miracle. Miracles really do happen, even in our times.

Nkenke, Hw u dey? Haven't heard from you lately. Hope all is well?
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 5:57pm On Jun 18, 2009
@ Jisola, you too? I didnt know I sounded tough. One thing I know for sure is that I am in many ways meek hence my surprise at bn described as taking a tough stance. It may well be that its just in response to the issues as they arose. Again, the issue of taking a lash does not arise. I am amazed. I guess you hv a wrong perception of my person, no thanks to innocently contributing to issues I thought needed to be responded to.

I am also surprised that Jisola used the pronoun hs rather than hr as Babake2020 had assumed. Could it be that its the male gender that is associated with 'toughness'. Alot of spaces to be filled then.

Whats the fuss abt resigning as I've been privy to the thoughts of a number of offer holders who have chosen not to be a part of this thread. There seem to be a desire for caution amongst some persons who have referred to incidences of offers that have been kept in abeyance (not shell though) in recent times. I, however, understand that shell gave us ample time to resign HONOURABLY with due notices. I cant seem to understand why the fears. Could it be the tension in the Delta? Perhaps.

Fellow Med hopefuls, we love you and still look forward, with faith, to hearing from you abt good news of IV's. Its my hope that it shall be so.

Fellow offer holders, I think we could do well to post info, as we have them, as preps for S.I.T.P and in the spirit of the countdown that Nkenke has so graciously taken upon himself. @ Nkenke, Good job. More power to your shell-like elbow.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 8:47pm On Jun 17, 2009
@ Nkenke thanks for your reassurance(s) and its good to know that at some point the said document would still be tendered. That a witness is required for a document, in itself, presupposes that its a three party issue. So I concur when you alluded to the fact that the document would still be tendered.

@ Babake2020, while I'd not want to join issues with you, I do want to thank you for the concern expressed regarding sending my mail(s). I've since done that.

On a lighter note and talking about filling blank spaces, your guess(es) was/were far from accurate. A nice try though but could have been a lot better. THE SPACES REMAIN BLANK UNTIL EDJEBA FILLS THEM or don't you think
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 9:19pm On Jun 16, 2009
@ Nkenke, Thanks for the concern and comeradeship you have shown thus far. I must however express my reservation about having the contract documents for keeps without giving your employers the courtesy of having their copies. In my small employment experience, this (TERMS AND CONDITONS) is one document employers jealously request and guard. If you read the offer letter as much as I am sure everybody else did, I am confident that you'd have a change of opinion as it was expressly stated that that document, among others, should reach SHELL on or before the 22nd.
While I do not doubt AGNES OKE's position, curious though, I believe she did that inadvertently, or she mistook your submission for the required documents for the 18th (or rather 17th).
Whatever, I dont think it would cost anybody anything if you sent photocopies of that duly signed and witnessed document. That way you would absolve yourself of any blame or omission.
Nkenke, since you are in PH, you would do us well to revisit Agnes and raise the issues mentioned herein. That way you would have done us, you inclusive, a whole lot of good. Many thanks in anticipation. Pardon my use of space.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 9:22pm On Jun 15, 2009
One love. Cant wait to see you all (hopefuls inclusive) at Edjeba. I guess my concerns as to who/where to return the terms and conditions document has been overtaken by events. Nice work Nkenke and Jisola.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 8:25pm On Jun 13, 2009
The reply to Bernard Enahoro's mail required by the 18th is quite straight forward and in line with douecho's position. What is of more concern is the terms and conditions document in the courier (UPS) package to be signed, witnessed and returned to them? The question is return to them HOW? By courier or the same means as above? If the former, to what address? The offer letter was silent as to the means of returning the said documents by the 22nd. I guess these questions can be answered by putting a call through. But to whom? The Phone number on the offer letter (enclosed in the courier package) is not tied to any particular office. Its worth the try anyway. Can anybody proffer solutions?
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 3:30pm On Jun 12, 2009
@osinawata, opensesame, douecho, Nkenke and others, Yeah, same here. I havnt got the time to check my mail cos I am busy @ work. I got info from home that I got a UPS package. Wish us luck in the days ahead.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 10:13am On Jun 12, 2009
Good morning all, I've been so busy lately to, as usual, contribute on this thread. But to my utter amazement I noticed that alot had transpired behind me so much that I had a three page catch up to do.
@ Godeagle, I salute your courage. I am humbled. To think that you discovered a regretted status and still had the courage to post on this thread is to say the least quite humbling.
@ Med hopefuls, I also salute your courage to remain steadfast in your quest to achieve that dream but elusive job. I am believing God that with your strong faith, your wishes shall come to pass.
To the rest of us, offer letter hopefuls, we remain expectant and hope to meet @ Edjeba with the spirit of comeradeship expressed herein.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 1:19pm On Jun 09, 2009
@ hopefuls, our expectations and patience is being stretched. I thought we were hoping for this week? Why the inclusion of the next?
Is it a fact or a rumour that militants/ MEND had given an ultimatum to oil companies in the delta to vacate or face the consequencies? I understand that the JTF had, however, allayed any fear as they claimed they were on top of the situation. What are the implications of this development, if true, on SHELLS protracted recruitment exercise.
No matter hw long circumstances stall the process, I was hoping shell would inform 'successful' hopefuls of their status so that no matter hw long commencement of training lingers, every anxiety would have been doused.
@ Edoblakky, Cheksa, Nkenke, Bimolowo. Thanks for your contribution. I enjoin us to avail us of info. as they unfold.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 8:42pm On Jun 08, 2009
@ onDcrox, thanks for your comments. No one could have been daft enough as to suggest that Shell could call someone and send same an e-mail on a weekend. I did say(write) that he informed me on a Sunday morning. Could that have meant that he heard from Shell on a Sunday? Anyway he heard from them on Friday.
@ Osinawata, we cant be referring to one and the same person as the guy I was referring to got the call on Friday and not Thursday as yours. Your info. only suggests that a number of persons got similar calls. Where are they? MAKE UNA SHOW FACE NOW!  Your claim as to the fact that 'our offer go show this week' requests for clarification. Do us all that favour. We'd be glad if you are proved right. Please, hopefuls, do not starve us of info. Its the least any of us could do. CHEERS
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 2:55pm On Jun 08, 2009
@ babake2020, I did not suggest that the guy I referred to was northern, neither did it imply that the commercial positions were being filled. Sorry, I am not privy to any info about offer letters. I'd be glad to get info. on that too.
I'm hoping shell takes everyone out of the misery this week as you have suggested. Wish us luck.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 10:27am On Jun 08, 2009
Good morning fellow hopefuls, I'm surprised that I've not heard of any latest development in view of the information I now have. A fellow hopeful in my SRD group (I happen to be the only one in that group who has done medicals) informed me, on Sunday morning, that he got a call from shell. He was asked if he was interested in Logistics-Remember we filled a form for alternative non core technical positions during SRD- as the spaces for core technical positions had been filled up. He acceeded and was immediately sent a med IV for tommorrow. I guess the good news we were expecting to hear, as echoed by pepperyboy, was what prompted the response the guy got. I was surprised that thus far none of the hopefuls on this thread has posted anything in this direction. Pls HOW FAR? I expect a whole lot of you to get this. SHARE THE GOOD NEWS WITH US.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 11:54am On Jun 04, 2009
@ pepperyboy, You cant imagine hw much that info would stir up excitement, anticipation and anxiety in the minds of hopefuls. Pls do let us into the source and perhaps the authenticity of it so as to guide our expectations for next week. I am hoping you are proved right.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 9:17pm On Jun 03, 2009
@babake2020 Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate. No be God!!!!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 4:22pm On Jun 03, 2009
@ hussyhassy by his admission had implied that he did not know which thread he was, or rather he mistook Federal Govt. recruitment for the very obvious shell thread. Thats very curious. Anyway lets give him the benefit of the doubt as we hope shell would, in the spirit for which it was known in the past, handle this issue on its merit. One is tempted to suspect that some untoward or rather sharp practices are underway in view of the fact that it is taking them eternity to wrap up a process it took them less time to conclude in the immediate past.
again, let me reiterate the fact that we should keep an open mind even in the midst of anxiety.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 11:35am On Jun 02, 2009
@ hopefuls, We are starved of information. Can someone please wet our appetite wit info.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by aguyemd: 2:39pm On Jun 01, 2009
@ Cheksa, I insist that the e-mail has been sent. In any case I have resent it.
