Please guys... Can someone certify his document in Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and Embassy with a proxy.

I don't stay close to Abuja, so I'm considering a friend, who stays in Abuja, doing them on my behalf.

Warning!!!!!

If you don't belong to Category A, pls don't make Germany your priority. You might be disappointed. All this new moniker make waves up and down, don't wait and hope.

In a few months, these new monikers will disappear(i.e after waiting and hoping), while another set of hopefuls will appear.

The consulate shut the door, soon German Universities will also shut the door on Nigerians (offering priority to other nationals), because Nigerians keep flooding them with application but when the get admission they don't show up.

Have other plans and priorities, but Germany shouldn't be number one, if you're not cat A.

Do you want to study in Germany

this is what you need;

1) First Class Degree not older than 2018
2) Scholarship
3) PhD offer

if you don't have or can't provide any of the above...pls forget about Germany. Channel this energy into another plan!

There are many scholarship opportunities in Deutschland. I'm not taking about DAAD alone.

The question is, are you willing to learn German (up to B2)? are you willing to engage actively in volunteer service?

Bitter truth: if you don't belong to Category A, forget about Germany....I repeat, forget about Germany!

Good morning friends. I believe sharing my testimony here can help someone else's faith and encourage everyone.

Blessed is the man whose trust is in the Lord and whose hope is the Lord's.
Those who believe on God shall never be confounded!

I qualify for CAT A and I booked last December, precisely Dec 13 and I didn't receive a date just like almost everyone here. My hope and belief were getting detailed cos of the unexpected delay but I kept on praying and kept believing God. Last week, I got so tired with everyone that I started to lose hope and started winter applications. In fact, I already started applying to schools, about 5 schools already. On Friday, I eventually cancelled my appointment with the plan that I would rebook for winter this monday just as almost everyone is planning but I didnt have rest and peace deep down that I was not believing the words of God he had already told me, which is human of me.

A big congratulations to you bro. And thank you very for sharing this wonderful uplifting news/testimony.

Winter hopefuls we're expecting similar (AD alert) news from you guys. Best of luck guys.

please is it advisable for someone with winter admission to apply for appointment now, knowing that embassy stated on their website that they would reset their website by then?

Therefore we will reset the B-list registrations at the end of September and at the end of March before the beginning of the new semester and delete all at that time existing B-list entries.

It's clearing and boldly written.

If you for cat B, then have a little patience, April is around the corner (you can book from April 1st). Meanwhile, if you're for cat A with admission letter, you can go ahead and book.

bro wats the hope that i will even get appointment in Winter??
im wondering how the people who are getting dates are doing it oh. seriously!!

I don't really know for cat B. however if you belong to cat A (priority cat) and you don't have a scholarship, try and book with nothing less than a space period of 4 or 5 months. I mean, if you book for AD today ensure that your start date is in next 4 or 5 months. That way you improve your chance of getting AD.

You can't book for AD in January with a start date of March or April (with a space period of less than 3 months) and expect the embassy to give you AD.

Judging from the present conditions, AD takes nothing less than 4 or 6 weeks sometimes even 2 months to come (I.e. if you don't have a scholarship). And when one gets AD, one has to wait for another 4 to 6 weeks to go for interview. After that Visa takes 4 (if you're lucky) to 6 weeks, and sometimes even 2 months to get issued. That's total of 5 months max.

We have to be smart about this. And like @princekck adviced if you are for summer semester without AD try and defer your admission to winter (if it's possible) and then rebook. i.e if you still meet the category A requirements. Don't fold your hands. I don't know the fate of cat B and but they can as well try.

And in few months time the consulate would make degree issued after 1st Jan. 2019 one of the perquisite for meeting Cat A. So guys act fast and smart. If better have a plan A,B,C. Hopefully ADs will roll out this winter.

just my 2 cents sha.

But bros una cone dey get AD but una no even tell anyone for this group to lift peoples spirits...e no fair oo cos this waka have been dull since last year, una go just get date but wont even say Jack to encourage those still waiting.... then you'll still cone back to ask for more help here...you reason am na e fair at all ??

That's just it bro. A lot of people getting AD but none is speaking up. But you can't really blame them, most of them are not on nairaland. They don't see it (AD) as a big deal, only applicants on this trend know how much of a big deal AD is.

Terms like AD Alert is now extinct.

Hi, gurus.
I'm making the enquiry for my brother.

My brother booked an appointment for category B, since last year and he got a mail for the appointment date on Monday.

But when I read the mail, I noticed he used his old international passport no to book instead of the new international passport no as he has a renewed passport already.

Has anyone here made such mistake and what's your experience at the German embassy?
Will this error affect his visa application or will he be turned back from the embassy gate to get another date?

Your advice is needed as appointment date has turned to Gold.

Thanks you all

wow!!! Category B getting AD. A very good news. It makes one wonder how many people who are getting AD but aren't in nairaland. Good News. Congrats.

Do as @princejck said. Your brother will be fine.

Congrats

What Cat. Did you applied for?

Pattern is showing slowly, if you re summer applicant and you didn’t get AD by end of Feb...i think you should defer ur admission to winter semester, cancel ur appointment and book again with a later enrollment date.

Just my thought...make nobody attack me

Lol.. nobody will attack you bro. You said well.
Sehr gut gesagt!!!

Please o o. Who and Who done interview here. We would like to have a transcript of your interview. I believe that is the culture of this thread. Besides, who knows your experience might help future applicants.

This thread has always benefitted from inputs of previous applicants sharing their experiences. And nothing minding the current AD wahala, we certainly need some positive vibes here.

Congrats in advance on your AM.

I honestly don't blame them. We Nigerians are serial abusers. I bet 70 percent of us booked for appointments even before we submitted our applications/got admission letters.
You can argue that it's safer to do so becos others will do so but everything Nigerian is a struggle and it is frustrating..

If the consulate doesn't introduce a system that makes AL, SL or BA a prerequisite for booking for AD. Then, this abuse is certain to continue. If this continues then more crisis is imminent.
Besides, some years back you must upload your AL will booking for AD.

Why are Nigerians being suffered like this?? Went to Ghana visa site.. They can choose AD of their choice.. March dates available.. Na to look for Ghana citizenship ooo

While it's fair to say that the number of applicants from Nigeria is massive. Nonetheless, it's also fair to say that, we are prone to and fond of abusing every working system we find ourselves in. A series of abuse committed by previous applicants and then passed down to us.
I believe this is just an effect of an abused system. And finally, they are trying to show us that visa is a Privilege and not a Right.
I pray everything gets sorted out eventually.
Good luck to everyone.

Hello everyone,
I finally met with the career adviser of my school, a young and beautiful lady.
She asked me why I want to leave a prestigious school like RWTH Aachen University to start a BSc program at 29yrs old?
I told her that I want a degree with which I can easily get professional job after graduation, a degree that has more opportunities in Germany and that's why I want to change to computer science.
She said that there are opportunities in my course and most courses in Germany if I possess the right skills and speak the langauge well, that I don't necessarily need to start afresh from BSc. That even if I want to go into IT field, I should learn the skills of interest somewhere in Germany or even online while still undergoing my MSc program, that German companies usually employ you base on what you can do and that's why you see graduates of Microbiology working in the IT firm simply because they possess the right skills. cheesy

Thanks bro for sharing this wonderful piece.

Like they always, hard skills makes one employable not degree.

Good luck with your future endeavors bro. God's grace.
