Intellectual scam? Will you like to go back to where we all came from?
I don't think k any of us were promised automatic jobs.
We are all from a 3rd world country, not everyone will be lucky to come and start at same professional level he or she was at in Nigeria, in Canada a 1st world country.
Most people will have to start afresh, or start at a lower level, or even go back to sch.
No one lured us, we all searched for better environment and found Canada.
There are success stories all around. My frnd was a bug guy in Halliburton years ago in Nigeria when he left and started as a security man because you cannot practice engineering without licence here. After his licensing he got 180k role and after two he realized 180k is too small for him. Today he drives truck and owns two trucks and decides how much taxes he pays as a business owner. Will u say the country has scammed him?
If we are complaining, what should Doctors do? After years of study and they have to write exams for three years? Nurses have to write exam as well?

There is a reason they say they want highly educated people, people who will come face the challenge and intellectually carve a way for themselves and survive. Not because there are jobs on the street waiting for us from Nigeria.

Hey guys. Some of us without any higher degree from any institution, but what's our chances of migrating to Canada without going through the study route? Although I just got certified as a data analyst, and I also have a digital marketing certification. Must I be a graduate before going this part? Because I understand if I want to go through the study route, it's going to cost a lot, and also age is not on my side. Please someone help me clerify this issue for me.

Whao. We learn each day. I only know RNs that won't consider traveling nurse option.

The $5K a year is the Canada child benefit for a family of 4 with family income of $140K irrespective of the province they reside. One child is less than 6 and the other is between 6 and 12. The amount changes with age.

That must be gross. With net 117k na $1900 for under 2 baby in Alberta. If you consider GST, AFCB.. All don go cry

Those nurses making 200K must be nursing practitioners. I have not met RNs making 200K. A hard working doctor will easily make 200K no matter when they migrate to Canada provided they are qualified and have full license.

A family with $140,000 income may still get around $5,000 child care benefit a year.

RN (travel nurse) : Depending on experience. Some earn above 250k per year.

5k in which province..

Mr director,How many Nigerians in Canada earn above 200k a year? Stop deceiving yourself and live your life so you don’t give yourself high blood pressure chasing unrealistic wages as a new immigrant!

True, most managers do not earn 200k. Range is usually between 80-160k. Manager na just tag. Though some senior senior managers may get big bonuses and extra cash from profit sharing taking their total earnings above the 200k mark.

I work in the health sector and we have Nigerian doctors, nurses earning 200k-500k

99% of them immigrated 15-30years ago.....make new immigrant chasing 6figures no kill themselves o.

100k is 68k at the end of the year grin 50k is 37k. grin

50k may get around 6-10k from the govt depending on family size. Taking total earning to 47k.

100k gets nothing.. cry

To add to what you already said,

I don’t PERSONALLY know anyone that works 2 much less 3 jobs. I know it’s a very common saying on NL but the people I know have one job and it’s enough.

But then again I have to put in a disclaimer that things can be different from state to state. Some states are notorious to be low wage states hence it’s possible the two-three job phenomenon might be more prevalent in their areas. I stand to be corrected on that.

Just saying it’s not the norm they’ve made it out to be on this forum. People still have a life from my probably limited observation.

I have got some couple of friends that work 2-3jobs, mainly IT jobs and most of these roles involves doing zoom meetings in different time zones. It's very hectic, I am still battling with a single job, having 2 will be the end of my working career.

I wash dead bodies because I'm a 4th Class Citizen and I need to earn money.

All Nigerians abroad either wash dead bodies, drive taxi or delivery services or are security guards. The highest aspiration beyond that is nursing. All Nigerians are also heavily in debt for car and mortgage and after paying taxes, there NOTHING left, no savings, no money to spare.

If you don't know this then you're not well informed. Do a Google search and see how Nigerians abroad are suffering. Don't you read Nairaland? Ask Treadway & Ahiboilandgas.

Good Luck to Nigerians

What is the point of this discussion you started? That Nigerians abroad are stuck in poverty. They can't get good jobs? They live beyond their means?

Wetin you dey yarn? The vibes I got from your post is that you're already far richer than my kind of immigrant, you're way above my level.

See me, I've lived in North America for over 30 years and I'm still a 4th Class Citizen subjected to systemic racism, police is hunting to kill me every time I leave my house to go wash dead bodies for a living. Don't you watch CNN? You're much better off in Nigeria, I can only dream of living your kind of life. I've put it in prayers.

Good Luck to Nigerians

Why are you washing dead bodies? Do you have certification to do this? Are you a path assist? If you've been washing dead bodies for over 20years. You should be earning nothing less than 150k per year now o grin why police dy hunt you? You thief something?

I don’t need a breakdown of this, everybody knows the reason why people work in weathers like this , is because of increase in pay.

In my village here in chitown I have never experienced such before the least I have seen is -13(I can’t even stand it) As for Nigerians they like money very well. They don’t care if it’s -90 or whatever.

So keep enjoying buddy it’s your money it’s your life.

I was only quoting you based on what you said

Bro it’s just a fabricated story. Who goes out to dine or hustle when temperature is -40c.

But you're going to opposite way now. Accepting that yes people go out at those temperatures

Canada, for sure. Last year it was even below -40 degrees C in some provinces. People deliver with SUVs because it runs better on the snow, 4WD things. Additionally, delivery pays a lot during winters, if you have a good car.
