hello Great nairalander.
I'm trying to reschedule my appointment which is 8th jan, 2018 to 29th dec,2017, but it came up with this message:

" If you cancel this appointment, then you will have exceeded the limit of appointments canceled, and will not be able to schedule another appointment until another MRV fee has been paid"

I have not cancelled any appointment since I booked the appointment. I don't know why this came up.
I'm reapplying and the school resumes on 10th Jan.
Anybody with any clue if there is something I can do? Thank you
why not call their agent & ask if u can reschedule or send a mail to support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com

Thanks. Still trying to figure it out tho.
.....do you want me to spoonfeed you?
Anyway, after opening the link & reading the requirement, go to the bottom of the page and click 'schedule an expedited appointment', then login with your details, it will take u to ur visa page. Finally, fill in d necessary details and attachment like I-20, admission letter, etc and write the reason(s) why u need a new date

Pls I wasn't attended to on dec 8 for my visa appointment & was told to book another date after 72hrs but the date I saw is Jan 31st which i have booked but my school resumes Jan 10 and I'm now hearing one can only use the gtb bank receipt to book only twice & that if I want to book any emergency appointment, I have to go pay another 64k. Pls how true is this considering I've not even attended any interview yet despite having booked twice?
Pls disregard that "hearing" 'cos I've just been sent an email to reschedule for emergency appointment to a closer date
....can u believe it was the us customer service that told me that earlier statement? & I began to wonder how I'll have to get another 64k despite not attending any interview. If not for JESUS that helped me take the bull by the horn & table my case to their e-mail address, I would have given up.
THANK YOU JESUS

Mine was 58 Hours and I was afraid too and called the customer care and they said if the Bar code number of both DS160 and confirmation number is he same then you can go....i went today and everything was fine they never quoted anything about it...
Pls oooo mine was also corrected before going and I was not attended to. It's safer to call first & let them verify before going

Hello nairalanders,
I submitted my Ds-160 form yesterday and later made a mistake in the field 'Intended lenght of stay in the US', on realising this after submission, I quickly filled another form and updated the new confirmation number in the appointment website and generated another confirmation page.

This was done less than 72hours to the date of my appointment (14th Dec), and there is a bolded caveat that says:If you are updating your profile less than 72 hours prior to your appointment day, you may be turned back. Please ensure all updates are done at least 72 hours before your interview day
please what should I do? by the time i ll be going to the embassy, it would only be 48hours (not up to the said 72hrs). I considered rescheduling my appointment but the next available date was 30th Jan, that is many days after the start of classes for spring.

or is emergency schedule an option here?

How on earth can you book appointment without completing the most important part of your application? Sigh..This is not a case of your village people, its your own handiwork. Anyways, you might have to wait till after 72hours like they said and try to request for emergency Appointment if you cant find any earlier date.
Thanks but pls does it mean I will be paying another 64k for d emergency appointment?

Hello nairalanders, pls i need your help. I was sent back today at the embassy. It all happened that I book my appointment more than a month ago and I just recently completed the ds 160 form but the barcode on the appointment and ds160 are not the same. So I sent a mail to support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com for it to be corrected which was done yesterday but when I got there today, I was sent back that I will have to wait till 72 hours to book another appointment but my fear now is my school is resuming early January and I don't know how I'll get a date in december without paying another 64k

Please is it always necessary to tell the VO that u applied to more than one school, because I applied to just one and got the admission..
Yes, you say that and name the others schools to show that you're a genuine student

Good morning people,
I have been a silent follower on this thread, my profile goes thus. On May17th 2017 I went for my first interview and I was denied the reason the VO gave then was my school Park University Missouri is a "very small school". I got admitted for spring 2018 into Bowie State University, Maryland and I have gotten two denials again. I am really confused as to whether to give up on this dream. My last transcripts goes thus

VO~ why are you going to USA?
Me~ I'm going for my Masters degree in public administration at Bowie State University Maryland.
VO~ why Bowie state University?
Me~ The scope of the corriculum at Bowie state university is deep, courses like public budgeting, public personnel management and human resource Managment will expressly address the problem of lack of expertise in the Nigerian civil service.
VO~ Have you ever travelled out of Nigeria before?
Me~No, I have never had any reason to leave my country.
VO~Do you have any international degree?
No, I don't.
VO~Did you write any standardized test?
Me- I wrote TOEFL on September 23 2016 and I handed the result over to her wished she viewed and after that stated I'm ineligible.

Please I will really appreciate, advises on whether to pay another application fee and fire back since school resumes January 22nd.
God bless.
that is not the reason, it's not even a 'small' school at all. Even if the VO told you that, you should have corrected him/her. The school has thousands upon thousands of students. The VOs don't know all. You just have to prove you're a genuine student regardless of whether it's a so called 'small or big ' school & ask for God's favour. Moreover, there is no 'big or small' school as long as you can prove your worth
Stay blessed

@poster
I quite understand your plight and I must confess I'm really disappointed with the ushers' behaviour but note the following:
(1) The SCOAN church is probably the only church where the demand is far much more than the supply( I'm sure you saw the mammoth crowd)
(2)Unlike some churches, there is only one single service per day
(3) Foreigners alike are also jostling to attend this single service
(4) If you are a keen observer on Emmanuel TV when Prophet tb Joshua is ministering live, you will notice he himself normally shouts on them, trying to put them in line to correction
(5) Those ushers/workers I believe, are either not trained or are themselves overwhelmed.
(6) Finally, no matter how good any organisation is, there remains areas of imperfections that needs ammends
Hence, when visiting SCOAN, don't be distracted by the treatment but focus on what you came for.

RentedReality:

It will be a steep climb but you can.

I would advise you to go for technical certifications for an offshore technician role, from there you can build experience and switch into a more specialized function before you hit 35.

At the end you can defend your teaching background in an interview by saying; that your broad theoretical knowledge coupled with your work experience as added depth to your understanding of the role and also allows you the flexibility of either a field or office based work function.

Check on PTI's website for a list of technical courses and the price per course.
.........thanks
