I suggest you go to the OIS office for your appointment on the 2nd of October. I’m guessing you thought it was physical interview because the address on the appointment letter was Walter carrington.
If you have a visa that expired within the IW validity period, then do the drop off at OIS after booking an appointment on the oisservices website.
Best of luck!

Adaeze24:
Hello All,

I am eligible for interview waiver and had interview waiver appointment on the old platform but when I was migrated to the new one it seemed like a regular interview appointment on the appointment letter which was on the 19th of September. I couldn’t attend the interview cause of the confusion with the platform and other unforeseen circumstances , so after reading this thread I went on the OIS platform and scheduled a drop off appointment for the 2nd of October. Will there be any issues since I missed my old appointment for the 19th of September.

Please help 🙏🙏

You should select US visa delivery services for drop off and pick up of IW/Dropbox.

Mjolnir:

so the mail finally dropped in my inbox over the wkend. and my appoinment IV is there as well, so from what i have gathered here, am to proceed to ois website - https://www.oisservices.com/services
and schedule another appointment for dropoff?

wondering what if i wil be able to get same date as my original date from the now closed US traveldocs....or if i dont get same date, wch date should i honor?

Also for IW/dropbox..is it visa services or us visa documents delivery....i should choose?

Please how do you get OIS dates? I thought the AVITS was being managed by OIS.

primusmaximus:

If you live in Lagos or Abuja, then still try and submit using the OIS date. It's possible they have stopped AVITS appointments for drop-off as it may no longer be relevant (as mentioned by OIS)

If you stay outside Lagos/Abuja, then wait for someone to confirm using OIS date only.

The OIS staff I spoke with actually said they have taken over the appointment booking process from US Embassy.

Hi,
Check your Spam email, you might have missed an email from ustraveldocs or Avits. I received the email instructing me to attend my appointment on the same day I booked a few days before the appointment day.

Sparks12:
Please i need help.... I had booked my IW appointment on the old platform for first week in september. I have been waiting for the mail from the new site but still have not gotten any mail.I have created a profile and still have not received any mail and i also cannot explain how the old appointment confirmation mail disappeared from my GMAIL. I have mailed them severally, no response, had a chat with a representative through the chat option, but nothing concrete.

Even with the email confirmation from the embassy, OIS is still charging 48k for drop off.
Also from what I have gathered they are charging that 48k to anyone who comes to pick up their passport as well even those who selected to pick up at DHL.
It is a rip off in my opinion but where do we direct our complaints?

Your question is being asked in the eleventh hour.

1. It seems you will be opting for paid service drop-off since the confirmation email is not forthcoming from the embassy.

Visit this (new authorised company) website to register:

www.oisservices.com/services

2. On that page, locate "US VISA APPLICATION DOCUMENTS PICK UP/DROP OFF" section, scroll down to the page and click on "Click Here" button. They have staffs you can chat or talk to but i think it's a paid service without the embassy email.

I had my IW appointment yesterday (29th August) at OIS Services dropoff centre in Lagos. I was scheduled initially for October 2024 then the embassy automatically rescheduled me for the 24th of July but I was out of the country so I had to reschedule that and it was on the 29th August.
Following the communication that the DHL will no longer be used for dropoff, I got an email last week Friday to go to OIS on the day of my appointment 2 hours after my initially scheduled appointment.
I got to the OIS centre at 11am (my appointment was at 9am) and there was a crowd outside. I was told I had to get a number and I was given number 108 meanwhile they just called number 80 to come in.
I was not called in till 12 noon and we were kept waiting in a room till about 1pm when we were called into the room where the drop off was being done. I was there till 2:45pm and the process was very slow with few people attending to the large crowd of people.
Additionally, we all had to pay 48,000 Naira which they called service fee for using the OIS facility.
It was a long and tiring process and it is obvious the OIS team are not fully ready to take over this process. The office is not fully furnished and they are just taking it as it goes for now.
Hopefully, it will normalise within one month. If you have IW to schedule, I advise to wait till they get themselves before scheduling.

PS: I am still not able to create an account on the website so I am unable to track my application.

Yes you are right. I have been issued multiple entry visas before and I used it well.

Ashirioluwa:

Getting one-year or three-year travel insurance doesn’t guarantee that you will get a three-year visa.

The 3-year visa is granted to applicants who have obtained and lawfully used a previous multiple-entry visa valid for one year within the previous two years.

Apart from the above-mentioned condition, you must have also applied for a multiple-entry visa, not a single-entry visa.

I guess @Ajala444 must have been previously issued a one-year visa, because that’s the main condition.

The French consulate usually responds within 15 days. It can be much quicker though.

Yes I applied for multiple entry when filling the application form.

Drinky:
Oh wow! Congratulations!
Please did you apply for multiple entries?

Seeing as you plan to go to France on this trip, it’s best to apply through France and include all the required documents.
All the best with the application.

Good evening, everyone. I find myself in a bit of a quandary and could use some guidance. Several years ago, I traveled to Italy on a tourist visa, and now I have plans to visit France, also as a tourist. I'm currently unsure whether I should apply for an Italian visa and then access France from there.

Both countries are part of the Schengen Area, so I'm wondering if it might be easier to obtain a visa through Italy, or if I should persist with my application for a French tourist visa. Your insights would be greatly appreciated.
