Romance / Re: Say No To Gambling by Akinfemmy(m): 7:18am On Sep 29 |
I can't quit gambling. Yesterday, two of my tickets were unsuccessful. The first ticket was ruined by two games that didn't go in my favor. The second ticket was cut short by young boys who disrupted the last match on the ticket. Currently, I'm jobless and financially struggling, and gambling has been my only means of survival. When I resigned from my job, I recall posting here asking for a loan of ₦20,000, but unfortunately, no one responded. Left with no choice, I turned to gambling and have been managing to get by since then. Interestingly, I only gamble when I'm financially down; when I'm doing well, I don't gamble. |
Family / Re: Is Akara An Igbo Word Or Yoruba Word? by Akinfemmy(m): 5:11pm On Sep 27 |
It's a yoruba word. I watched a video of a guy explaining the meaning of the word but it's a long time ago. If i find it I'll modify my comment. 3 Likes |

Romance / Re: If 39000 Naira Is Not Too Small For You. by Akinfemmy(m): 8:29am On Sep 27 |
SUPERBLOOM: Can't you see it's a simple question i was asking? And with the way the op is going about asking people to use his code, don't you see there's definitely something in it for him? Which could be, he wouldn't be able to withdraw if he doesn't refer people? Now i do not have problem with that but it's always good to let others know the terms and conditions of this platforms. That was how i was led to download one and i even paid membership, only for me to be told i need referrals to withdraw. Can you imagine that? |

Romance / Re: Please I Need Your Advice by Akinfemmy(m): 3:57pm On Sep 25 |
Thank God I saw your post. I'm a graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), where I studied Philosophy. However, Philosophy was not my initial choice; I had applied for Law, scoring 233 (above the cut-off mark of 180) in the entrance exam. Unfortunately, I was given Philosophy instead. That's when my life took a different turn. The following year, I retook JAMB, still choosing OOU - a decision I now regret. Despite scoring 215, I wasn't considered for any course. Now, I've graduated with a Philosophy degree, but there are no job prospects. In Nigeria, where job opportunities are scarce, having an unmarketable certificate feels devastating. I'm now using my adult life to rectify my past mistakes, while my peers are already married with their third child on the way. My advice: don't rely on OOU; consider other universities. Don't let OOU waste your sister's time and future. 2 Likes |

Romance / Re: Who Is Your Favorite Philosopher And Why? by Akinfemmy(m): 6:29pm On Sep 21 |
Onebabe: The question of why there aren't many renowned African philosophers is intriguing. However, it's essential to note that African philosophies were primarily transmitted orally, rather than through written documents. This doesn't mean Africans lacked philosophical traditions. As a Yoruba person, I'm proud to acknowledge the rich philosophical inquiries conducted by our ancestors. These schools of thought are embedded in: 1. Ifá corpus 2. Proverbs (Owe) 3. Folktales (Aló) 4. Mythology These wisdom-filled expressions often provoke deep contemplation. For influential African philosophers, consider: 1. Aimé Césaire (Martinique) 2. Léopold Sédar Senghor (Senegal) 3. Kwame Nkrumah (Ghana) 4. Julius Nyerere (Tanzania) 5. William Abraham (Ghana) 6. John Mbiti (Kenya) Let's celebrate and explore Africa's rich philosophical heritage! 3 Likes 1 Share |
