ufotunang: Tinubu is working and he’s trying. Healthcare is cheap and free in some places, education is free in Nigeria, housing and rent is very very cheap. But food prices is high and I’m very sure Tinubu is working around this so we can get food at an almost free price like we used to do in the past |

fuckingAyaya: Hmm good for you. But while this is your reality, and things are way cheaper in your own state, that doesn’t mean things aren’t expensive overall tho. Tinubu is working and he’s trying. Davsidoo: Your best bet is actually Optima hotel. I think it’s the only hotel that is very very close to the embassy. Google search it. |

Danburuwa: Failures like you are actually very dangerous! You’ve been on @OyoTunjiUSA neck for some times just because you feel he’s shinning more than you? How evil can anyone be? Why are you evil? Why can’t you chart your own way instead of creating hatred in your mind against someone who obviously is doing better than you? I know you’ll say he also create this account to reply you. But are you unfortunate? |

Gerrard59: Yes. It really is a surer game of luck than the highly competitive H1B. You might not hire a lawyer, but sometimes last month I consulted someone who’s very vast with helping people file their EB1/EB2 paperwork, and he quoted around $4000 for me, na the amount scare me. 1 Like |

Gerrard59: And graduate students especially PhD students. Try and publish papers too in high reputable journals. EB1/EB2 category seem like a good alternative to PR in the USA. I think the profile you quoted had an MBA from CBS first |

VanuatuWycombe: Are you sure people are still getting US visa these days? Out of like 10,000 people that show up at the US embassy every week, only about 100 probably get issued. If you have been at their Lagos consulate before, you’ll understand what I’m saying |
Travel / Re: How Are People That Fall In This Category Able To Travel Abroad? by Alakoriomo: 2:24pm On Apr 15 |
VanuatuWycombe: US visa is getting really hard to get. They should tell us if their government no wan give us visa again make we find somewhere else. You go hustle pay almost 1M in visa fee and SEVIS fee, yet they go deny u in 30seconds for Walter Carrington embassy Lagos |
Travel / Re: How Are People That Fall In This Category Able To Travel Abroad? by Alakoriomo: 2:16pm On Apr 15 |
Gerrard59: But you need to tell the guy that getting graduate fellowship in the US is extremely competitive even for those that have first class. Imagine a school having to defray $51,000 for you in tuition and cost of living for the first year. The question is people that don’t have competitive profile and doesn’t have parents who can bring $70,000 , how are they doing it? |
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by Alakoriomo: 3:43am On Apr 15 |
dgee1: Please don’t take MPower loan to the US consulate in Nigeria. That can work in other countries The best would be your own money, follow by sponsors money like your parents While it’s important that you take proof of funds to the embassy, the VO won’t necessarily look at it. So it depends on how well you’re able to articulate your case when asked about how you’re going to pay your deficit. Likewise, $8k deficit isn’t that much. Stop panicking, your visa will be approved by Gods grace 6 Likes |

kes4glory: Congratulations. This is huge. All glory to God first. Now, please don’t look for any alternative funding source yet. Ask your department whether they have GA/TA position in place. Usually, department have this fund for you so that your tuition can be waived and you can get paid stipend every month while u study. Also, the chance of visa approval is high when u secure some funding. Email the graduate coordinator. I think for u to secure admit at this time when it’s already late mean that you’re on to better things ahead. Congratulations once again. UF is no mean feat 2 Likes |

Greatkenny2: When’s your interview? Actually, God did it. However, having funding helps. Because she didn’t even ask me questions more than four or so. And when she saw my funding, she said “ohh, you’re a fully funded PhD student”. And I said yes. Then she asked what would u be doing when u come back, and I gave some very stupid answer which wasn’t even coherent..lol..I wasn’t really vocal (was tense and tired and anxious and I was fasting Ramadan too) while answering her, and she was the one that ask me to relax ☺️ lol She already decided to give the visa after she saw excess funding on my i20. Funding helps , even if it’s little, it will save you from too much talks and unnecessary salaye 1 Like |

OyoTunjiUSA: Lol..laughing at your last point 😂.. but then, do you think a VO will grant a woman a B1/B2 visa having known her husband is in the US as F-1, and that it’s difficult that she’ll come back. And the reason I’m scared about the F-2 is that I already told them that I’m not married. |
