Phones / Re: How To Recover Money From A Scammer by Alex00001: 7:51am On Sep 12, 2021 |
Thanks for this Janet. I hope you don’t mind me doing a rider on this. I just want to expatiate a bit on some assumptions in the writeup so we can advise others too as the sheer number of these incidents these days is quite alarming. The major assumption here is that the scammer runs a legitimate bank account that can be flagged in the event of fraud for recovery or whose details can be traced easily from his KYC records with the bank. Facts however present a different story. *Most* frauds of this kind are done using what we call *‘Wallet accounts’* which can be opened in any bank. The account type came from an initiative of the CBN and the industry in a bid to deepen financial inclusion. Account is opened only using a phone line and nothing else. Yes, nothing else is required as none of the information provided is verified. This means one can open a Wallet account with the name of Wole Soyinka(Well maybe the system of some banks might flag such a name) or Shina Peters; just about any name can be used. The accounts require no BVN, no passport photograph, no ID card etc but can only be operated using USSD as long as the transaction threshold(N50,000.00) is not exceeded. Typically the withdrawals can only be made in tranches of N20,000. Well, maybe we’d look at the pros and cons of this account type another day but let’s stay within the framework of the discussion-online vendor fraud. If you’re scammed by anyone using these accounts, the steps outlined would hardly be of help unless you were fast enough(like within seconds of your transfer) to get in touch with the bank and report the fraud. Who discovers a fraud seconds after really? So what advice would I give? Shopping online… • Once the product being purchased or service being paid for is less than 50,000 let your *fraud alert be on Red*. One would have thought the higher the value the more you should worry but like I said in the context of our discussion the opposite is the case. If the funds go beyond 50k, then the receiver must have BVN which is at least a step forward. If you can risk following up with the anti-fraud unit of a bank that receives thousands of reports or with the police that gets countless reports of this sort then you can lower your alert flag. • How well do you know this vendor i.e. did recommendations come from friends who know him/her? Convenience of online shopping here will have to be weighed against losing your hard earned cash. It’s better to let the deal go than lose the cash and the deal all together. • Try the phone number on Truecaller and see if the result is the same as the identity the person is selling to you. • Check if there’s a payment gateway such as Interswitch or Swiftpay etc on the seller’s site or page, where that is present then you can move up your trust gear. • Be very ‘very’ careful when you are asked to pay into another account for one reason or the other. While someone may have an issue and request such in genuineness it’s a flag you shouldn’t ignore until you are totally convinced. Why would Jumia ask you to pay into an agent or staff account? • There’s much more but in all don’t ignore that inner feeling that tells you it’s too good to be true. You’d notice I didn’t say anything about getting your money back. Yes, that’s because in most cases where such accounts are used, you likely would not. Jobs/Vacancies / How To Get A High Paying Job In 4 Months In Nigeria by Alex00001: 10:24pm On May 30, 2021 |
When I say I will show you how to get a job in 4 months, I literally mean 4 months! But the fact is that the mindset must start from you. How must it start? They basically lied to us that all we needed was going to school, become an Engineer, and get a job that makes us a millionaire. The end result is seeing Engineers becoming marketers in the banks or cashiers. Others who aren’t so lucky are still searching for a good job to survive until this point in time. The ones who have a job are mostly earning less than 50k Naira monthly. This is bad and you can’t achieve anything tangible with that amount. In the coming months, inflation would increase; what are your plans to deal with that? I will show you how you can get a good job in 4 months. It has worked for almost everyone who applied the same steps. You want to know how? How to get a high paying job in 4 months The secret is that every 4 months (i.e the start of every quarter), most companies recruit people to add up to their staff force. How can you be among those recruited? Let me show you; Change your mindset Thinking of getting just any job shouldn’t be your target as a young graduate. You should aim for the best jobs that have a massive salary structure. Most people come out of school and NYSC, hoping just to get any job to survive. It might be true that there are no many jobs, but there are jobs for qualified people on how to have the skills. Gain a Lucrative Skill As funny as it may sound, I will tell you that I have never seen any software developer that is looking for a job in Nigeria. A female friend of mine graduated with accounting and searched for jobs for 8 months without success. I convinced her to learn Software Development as a side skill. Despite not any knowledge of ICT, she pulled through. Now she works with a new generation bank and earns more than 350,000 Naira as her monthly income. When she gets promoted, the salary would surely increase. Looking at the job market in Nigeria, I can only recommend two skills for you; - Software Development (Java, PHP, Python) - Mobile Application Development Any of the above is lucrative and would give you a job within 4 months after learning it. Rewrite your CV Now you’ve got a new skill, it is time to flaunt it like no man’s business. You have to use a good format to showcase your new skills and attract employers to your CV. Add a cover letter to your CV You can write a cover letter around the new skill you have acquired and the related job role. A cover letter is what explains your skills, capabilities and what you have to offer. There is a standard to write a cover letter, and I have explained that before in this post. So you can read it and get to know the tactics. Use Legit Job Sites I would want you to know that so many of the job sites available are filled with scams and non-existent jobs. There are few job sites to follow, and you can see them where I wrote it by visiting this page. Doing all of these, I guarantee you that within 4 months, you will get a job. It has been tested, tried, and proven. I wish you all the best in your hustle and life endeavors. Drop a comment and I will respond to you immediately. Crime / Woman Raped Man At Gunpoint; Took His $200, Credit Cards And Iphone(videos) by Alex00001: 10:07am On Mar 28, 2021 |
A 33-year-old man was allegedly held at gunpoint and forced to have sex with a woman in the backseat of a car after the woman’s female companion offered him a ride on the Near North Side over the summer. The man begged one of his tormentors — who demanded he place his hands on her breasts and buttocks during the July 26 attack — to stop, Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Amanda Pillsbury said Thursday. He eventually escaped, running out of the car naked from the waist down and into a taxi where a cabbie helped him and drove him home to the suburbs, Pillsbury said. The man had been walking in the 400 block of North Kingsbury early that morning when 25-year-old Cierra Ross allegedly pulled up to him and offered to give him a ride, the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting. While she was driving, Ross pulled out a black revolver and ordered the man, who was in the passenger seat, to get in the back and have sex with her friend, Pillsbury said. The two women also took $200 from the man, his credit cards and iPhone, according to a police report. When the victim noticed a nearby cab’s headlights, he decided to flee and seek help, Pillsbury said. The cabbie let the man use his cell phone to email himself a picture of Ross’ license plate number, Pillsbury said. The victim later identified Ross in a lineup, Pillsbury said. Ross, who also uses the alias Octavia Brown, was arrested on Tuesday, the police report said. The other woman has not been charged. Ross, who appeared in court Thursday in Jordan gym shoes and a black and red striped shirt, has previous misdemeanor prostitution convictions. The mother of two currently is a waitress at Denny’s, her defense attorney told Judge Israel Desierto. Desierto described the facts of the case as “somewhat unusual” before ordering Ross, of Olympia Fields, held in lieu of $75,000 bail for aggravated criminal sexual abuse and armed robbery.
