Crime / Re: Should Ibrahim Babangida Be Tried For Killing Vatsa His Childhood Friend ? by alheri(f): 10:56am On Aug 18, 2006 |
Mr. Big B, whether the vasta family are been engineered to bring up this issue or not is not the case here. The point is, is there an issue to bring up? Do they have a rigt to clarification on thier father's execution? Besides, did they conduct the interview where Gen Bali(who is por-IBB by the way) opened his big mouth to confess what they did? Look, your sins will always come to hunt you. So whether OBJ is happy or instigating them now is by the way as far as am concerned, but ask yourself, why has IBB himself not come out to deny or confirm the allegation? I am not an OBJ fan, never have been. On the other hand, I have always liked IBB but I feel if he wants our mandate, He should come clean about certain things and stop pretending they never happened. That is very callous as far as am concerned. And I beg to disagree, it does matter who rules Nigeria. If IBB is sincere then He should answer to the people. He had an oppurtunity during the oputa panel to set alot of things straight but he felt too big and even went to court to challenge thier right to invite him. Now he wants the people's mandate! HAAA! |
Crime / Re: Should Ibrahim Babangida Be Tried For Killing Vatsa His Childhood Friend ? by alheri(f): 10:48am On Aug 17, 2006 |
Exactly odeku! Mr Big b, Vasta was not a coup plotter, Gen Bali just confirmed He was wrongly accused, pls get your facts right. No proper investigations were carried out and why were they executed secretly which isnt the case normally? All those invovled should answer, not just IBB. But if he was the leader at that time, He should be man enough to own up to the consequencies of his decisions. |

He's doing all that in his father's company, he wont come to your sitting room and be rude to you. If you cant stand the heat, get out of the kitchen, pls, and stop complaining! |

otoks, why don't YOU tell us who gave the order yourself since you seem to Know so much about it (abi where you there when the order was given?). Well, I read the article in SUN(i think) by an obviously pro-IBB ex-military man,but unlike you who swallowed it hook, line and sinker, I have my reservations about that story. First of all, was the writer of the article present when the order was given? Does he know anyone who took the orders and who is ready to testify PUBLICLY to such? How come he is just bringing it up now? Does it justify anything? Vasta may have not been a saint, but he was publicly accused and killed for a crime someone has just admitted he never commited. Our children are taught in schools till today that he was invovled in an aborted coup plot, And was executed a criminal. Are you telling me the family does not have a right to set the records straight? To erase their fathers name from the list of people executed as enemies of the state and as common criminals? Are you telling me it is wrong if IBB admits to have made a mistake and publicly asks for forgiveness from these people? OMG, I really get amazed sometimes! |

OMG, LMFAO! When I saw the topic, I thot you were talking about Ebuka of BBN show(You know, the Helen, Francisca triangle). What can you do dear? He's made his choice. What I want to know is if your friend has agreed to date him and did she know you were crazy about him? |
Crime / Re: Should Ibrahim Babangida Be Tried For Killing Vatsa His Childhood Friend ? by alheri(f): 9:47am On Aug 11, 2006 |
Well, for me I dont think IBB should neccessarilly be tried per say. But if Vatsa was innocently killed, the appropriate quaters should be made to apologise to His family,His name should be cleared from History as a coup plotter (because children are still been taught in History that he was executed for been invovled in an aborted coup plot), he should be reinstated back into the Army and His entitlements as a late army officer be payed to his family. They should also be compensated monitery wise. Trying IBB wont bring succour to his family, theyve always known he was responsible for thier husband's, father's death. But if He wont take the initiative of making a public apology, He should be made to do that. He has been sending emisaries to the widow in secret to ask her to forget about the whole matter, family friends she has not heard from in over 15 years are calling her on his behalf. Why cant He just come out and publicly apologise to the widow and her children and clear thier father's name ? You see, that is the problem with IBB, He belives he can eat his cake and have. Life doesnt work like that. You pay for your sins nomatter how much you think you've changed. IBB has done so much harm to alot of families in Nigeria and the best thing he can do for them all and himself to, is to forget about contesting. |

Its not like they cant show the premiership at all ever again. They still have the right to re-apply for the license to air it, but not have "sole" rights. Just like twinstaiye said. |
Phones / Re: Your Phone Stolen? Share Your Experience by alheri(f): 10:25am On Aug 08, 2006 |
Well, my fone was stolen from me once on Falomo bridge. Every one who stays on the Island in Lagos knows that place is dangerous. It happend last year, we had a flat tyre and stopped to change it when, yes, the guys on okada came for a visit. My husband was on the outside and I was inside the car with the baby. My hubby said I should lock the car from the inside. Well they were four and they had this giangantic hammers which they used to break the car window(with me and the baby inside) and they took my bag and everything in it. It was an awfull experience. |
Politics / Re: Who Is Really The Giant Of Africa? by alheri(f): 9:53am On Aug 08, 2006 |
My Dear slimnike, you misunderstand the GIANT OF AFRICA. That term is expressed in terms of potential. And Nigeria has the most potential Africa! You better in recognise. SA is more advanced infastructurally, I agree completely but at whose expence? Where is the average South African of African origin in SA today? Still doing menial jobs and living in the not so trendy part of SA, right? I guess you don't know the meaning of illitrate(spell check pls). What do you mean most Nigerains will be illiterate if not for Mnet? YOU are beginning to sound illiterate, Haha, I wont even dignify that your statement. I want you to tell me now, in all those African countries going through one war, civil unrest or the other, which country has has SA sent aid or personnel support (military or orthewise) to? What help has SA given to its brother and sisters in other African countries, I would really like to know. Nigeria is not as advanced as SA when it comes to telecommunication, yes. But that is because of our military past. And everyone knows the military was never concerned about giving the populace the right info. And that is what is been corrected now by this sanction on DSTV. SA has always been like the devil, who has no free gifts, they always take back much more for everything they give to you and thats a fact! Its no news that Multichoice staff in Nigeria are been payed far less than thier SA counterparts. Is it because they're doing less? Of cos not! Its because as usual, SA is very opputunistic in its approach, always trying to suck out the life in its habitat. That is why NBC is trying to nip and I feel its a good step towards giving other local Nigerian companies the opputunity. DSTV or not, Nigerians were watching the premiership before DSTV. Have you ever heard of ABG communications? |

Religion / Re: Celestial Church of Christ: Your Experience And Opinion by alheri(f): 9:18am On Aug 07, 2006 |
Nobody is badmouthing cele. The thread says, ccc:your experiences and opinion, and thats what people have been doing. But because most of the experiences are bad ones, the celes in our midst are taking it personal. Agreed every place of worship/church has its own problems and yes, we should be helping one another. But I think the best way one can start is by accepting that there is a problem before help can come, not trying to counter-argue what alot of people here have experienced first hand. |
Politics / Re: Funsho Williams, PDP Lagos State Governor-to-be, Killed! by alheri(f): 9:10am On Aug 07, 2006 |
@christino. The other times he contested. the the house besides his was occupied so gaining entrance from there wouldnt have been that easy. And also, this is Nigeria not some developed country ok?Having a CCTV will only help if the killers were known faces. Its not like the Nigerian police has organised data on all criminals and there finger prints and all that. Havent you heard that they've been raiding area boys in Lagos and taking there finger prints? What if the killers are not even from Lagos. In Nigeria, a wanted person is hardly ever found. Na today? @odeku. My dear knowing the killers of their breadwinner can never give them comfort. It will only make them develop bitterness and resentment for the rest of their lives. Believe me, they are better off not knowing. I know! |

Politics / Re: Funsho Williams, PDP Lagos State Governor-to-be, Killed! by alheri(f): 9:25am On Aug 04, 2006 |
@christino, you know, having a camera in his house does not gaurantee that he wont get killed which I believe is the main issue here. Yes, it would have been very usefull in tracking down the killers if there was one but that would still have been after his death which is what should have been avoided in the first place. Get my drift? You know, something occured to me while I was passing through dolphin estate yesterday. We all know that politics everywhere is a very dirty game and though noone who goes into politics prays to get hurt, its a possibility they should all face. Now looking at the lay out of dolphin estate, I think it was rather careless for Late Engr. Funsho Williams to be in active politics and reside in Dolphin. There is really no general security in that place. And the block he stays in is right beside another of his which is empty. Any one could have gained access to him that way. Now they're suspecting the killers came in through the empty house and the gatemen has not been seen since the murder. Honestly I think all the noise they're making about this is only going to make it worse for his family. With all this it would be harder for them to move on. Am not been insensitive but if I was a part of the family I would request that they stop all the investigation. It wont bring back their son, husband and father. What would knowing his killers do for them? It would only make worse there emotional state. What if the killers are known but cant be found? What if the perpetrators have already left the country? What if they now find out its close friend or member of the family? what if this, what if that? There are so many what if's and it will never end. After all the hullaballoo, everyone will go back to thier house and they'd be left alone to pick up the pieces. |
Fashion/Clothing Market / Re: Buying Sarees In Lagos by alheri(f): 9:03am On Aug 04, 2006 |
Well I cant tell you where to get them sarees for sure but I could give you an alternative. Why not try the "Laffaya" worn by Kanuri women on Borno? Its about the same thing and it comes in 6 yards. Prizes vary depending on the quality. Its almost the same thing as a saree, really. I dont even know the difference sometimes. So if youre interested in that, let me know. 1 Like |

Does it matter who killed him? The fact still remains, they've left his children fatherless and his aged mother is gonna have to bury her son. People are so heartless, they didnt have to kill the man. I dont know him personally but it hurts me real bad. God will deal with the perpetrators of this crime! |

Look I understand everybody's emotions on this Kaduna issue, but lets all chill for awhile. Shango you seem to have had some really bad experiences with Kaduna and I can understand that. But truth be told, Kaydee of not that bad, haba! Like ishmeal, I am also beginning to wander if you actually lived in kaduna. You keep saying G.R.A, which GRA? There is nowhere like GRA in kaduna. And what do you mean by kaduna city? If you say I stayed in Malali GRA or Barnawa GRA, i will understand. So which GRA are you talking about becos there is nothing or nowhere like GRA in Kaydee, abi Ishmeal? You sound like you know alot about the town, but you dont sound like you actually lived there. Kaydee is ok and like I said, I can hook anyone up if they want to serve there. 1 Like |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Is Actually Disunited! by alheri(f): 11:32am On Jul 06, 2006 |
And no offence taken under18. But like I said, it takes more to be a football fan. I am not aware of the thread you were convinced to migrate but I am aware of this one and so am posting in it. You say most man u fans here don't write facts but only critisize, I guess youre speaking for yourself when you were still a Man U fan? So you see, if YOU had the facts, you wouldnt be an arsenal fan now. Thats why I said been a fan takes more than moving with the flow of things at a particular time. I don't have to prove to you or anyone what I know or don't know about football, but I know that REAL football fans just don't change camps like that! Noone needs to convince you to stay or change, you make up your mind based on your own personal analysis of your clubs performances. Thats been a fan! |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Is Actually Disunited! by alheri(f): 10:39am On Jul 06, 2006 |
Ill temper, Mr. Skidoc?Look whos talking Like I said in my post,i didnt mean anything as an insult but am sure you were too occupied with your own need to criticize you didnt read that part of my post. I said what I said in the spirit of good sporstmanship and anyone who is a real football fan would not find my post offensive. If under 18 finds my post insultive, I'll apologise to HER, but I wont be taking back anything I said or making any modifications to my post. If you think your own post was even more intelligent then a bigger clap for you! I maintain, been a football fan takes more. You just don't jump from club to club because some "females have made very intelligent remarks" about thier own club. |
