Education / Re: A Federal University Where Over 99% Of The Admitted Students Are From 1 Tribe. by alimain10: 8:39am On Sep 21, 2016
Emilokoiyawon:
So, I was just in my office in the US relaxing (jejely) after a meeting, when I saw the post of UNN, Nsukka's provisional admission list released by the registrar Chris Igbokwe. So, I took a few minutes of my break time to peruse the names. I observed that over 99% of all the newly admitted students are ALL Igbos. Out of the over 15,000 admitted students I could only count about 10 confirmed Yoruba names. In fact, many of the departments do not have a SINGLE non-Igbo student admitted. This is a federal University for God sake! 99% from the same region! We understand that its situated in the East but haba take it easy Igbo people. When the Hausas do it, you are always the first to condemn them. The problem is that my Yoruba people in the SW will be the ONLY ones admitting people based on merit from across the country to the detriment of our own people - because we want to be seen as decent human beings. The Hausas and the Igbos do not give a fvck. The are just too tribalistic. We should start doing in the SW what the Igbos are doing in Nsukka - No more admission for Igbo students in UNILAG etc. until the Igbos change their ways.
Dear poster , u are So dumb to understand that even the so-called western Universities need igbos money from igbo students to survive as the igbos are always ready to pay any price for education. Unlike the yorubas who still want education free as it was in the Awo days. Left for quota system, igbos will dominate all the federal universities in Nigeria. This is fact.

Go and play for shiit. Is it not where one applied that he would be given admission, if fulfilled the requirements. So IGBOS should go and pack bus in ibadan, abiokuta or oshogbo and ask yorubas to come and study in the east? How many yorubas or hausas in the east are into schooling or seeking for admission to study there rather than the businesses that took then to the place unlike the Igbos in the west and north. Do u know what is catchment ... Or let me not talk to u, you said u are in america, just face ur america there.
Well said. NO ADMISSION IN TO LAW BCOZ THE SCHOOL IS HAVING LITTLE PROBLEM ADMITTING THEIR STUDENT INTO THE LAW SCHOOL SO THEY WANT TO RESOLVE IT BEFORE ADMISSION INTO LAW WLL CONTINUE ON DIRECT ENTRY YES THE DO BUT U WLL HAVE TO COME WITH A FIRST DEGREE RESULT BFORE U WLL BE OFFER ADMISSION FOR IT BUT FOR NOW ALL HAS BEEN STOPPED
Thanks a lot @dungas. This actually answered my question and my dilemma as well. Cos my major concern has always been whether their Law graduates are admitted into Law school. Cos it doesn't worth it If after spending So many years in the school studying Law you Won't be admitted into Law school. But I Hope the resolve it ASAP. For the direct entry, Yes I have a first degree already. But you should please keep us posted as well when they start admitting again. One Love!

FOR NOW, THERE IS NO ADMISSION FOR LAW IN NOUN. NOT EVEN FOR DIRECT ENTRY.
AS A MATTER OF FACT, NOUN DO NOT ADMIT DIRECT ENTRY FOR LAW.
OK. Tanx. But what could have been the reason for not admitting Law students currently as you said? Secondly, in the school website there is provision for direct entry in Law. How can We reconcile that when you said that noun do not admit direct entry in Law ? Sorry If I'm asking much But I really want to know before I make my choices. Tanx in anticipation.

Any Law student of NOUN in the house?
I wish to apply for Law as a B.Sc holder But I don't know If they take direct entry. If they do, how good is the programme and what level will I be admitted as a direct entry student? And lastly, have they been given admission into Law School?

The whole recruitment process is really taking too long...it makes me kinda wonder....what could be the problem??
I think. it could be because of the recent changes of baton in the Nigeria Police Force camp. U know.. this is Nigeria. The newly promoted officers would want to incorporate their own interest and that of their constituencies. But let's keep our fingers crossed.

This may be true. Cos my brother called me 2 days ago that he heard over the news that d PSC was saying that they have successfully concluded d first stage of the recruitment exercise.

] The breakdown was 7,500 Constables, 1,500 Inspectors and 500 each for ASP general duty and specialists.

The police are recruiting 10,000 candidates
7500 constables
2000 inspectors and ASP general duty
500 ASP specialist
This was the breakdown given by the IG 3 weeks into the application process.
I believed what former IG mike okiro said on media of 12 ASP per state was a typography error...because even the presidency confirmed the recruitment of 10,000 men and officers into NPF.
I stand to be corrected.
