Happy birthday to your hubby...I have silently followed this page since the days of yme, Kanwulia & co. Your hubby is such an amazing man & amazing men get only the best wives (such as you) that treat them like Kings. May his days be very long & always filled with joy. Well done nne, you are a good woman.

Wike means business.. He's really keen on protecting his people but this border gate won't work because there are other ways to enter the state without using this route.

Okay, you know Rivers State much more than Wike right? Continue..

@All you can not change your status with visitors visa since 2014. Please we need people with this information to comment. Thanks

Unless Shembe can provide a link about his above statement, please follow this. I also learnt it is difficult to change Visitors visa within SA...

My advice would be coming via Study permit...choose a school, pay the tuition fees, and organically get into the system by upgrading your permit slowly till PR. Good luck!

It better to go through that process and get your PR than other that will make you regret. I gone through Critical skill work permit when I got to SA in 2O15 I applied for my PR and it came out Dec 2016 with God on my side.

Good to hear & congratulations on your PR. Yes, will go this route. If you wouldn't mind, can I PM you? I can be lazy cry sometimes, so I need a bit of push grin

Hi alkaline, I don't understand your question. Did you married and divorced SA? If your marriage is 5 years before you divorced i believe you can apply for your permanent residence permit but if not you can not apply. But if you have valid work permit and you have work in SA for 5 years you can apply also. Then if you are on Critical skill work permit you can apply for permanent residence permit when you get job offer or contract.

No, I wasn't married for 5 years. I was trying to say: I had general work permit first, got married and got on Spousal visa with work notorization. I do understand that since I am now divorced without being married for 5 years, I cannot get my PR yet. Thankfully, my skill is listed as a Critical skill in SA so going that route. smiley

You can try volunteer work permit or critical skill if you have SAQA

Yes, going through Critical Skills, as I can then apply for PR immediately. Just that the money involved ehn, hmmm...My professional body fees alone hmmmm

Is your permit still valid or it has expired?? If its still valid you look for another spouce to add to your work permit when you're submitting for the renew and when its out then you can submit for your Pr.
Yes It is still valid...look for another Spouse where? Haha...I may just go another permit route...

I understand everyone talking about Visit visa and all. I have a different question:

Anyone have an idea on routes to go for PR in SA? Especially if one has been here with a work permit and then spousal visa+work permit (but divorced from PR partner) for more than 5 years? Thank you.
