Politics / Nigerian Army Generals Corrupt, Steal Weapons, Sell To Terrorists – Economist by AllahIsSatan: 3:01pm On Oct 22, 2021
Nigerian Army Generals Corrupt, Steal Weapons, Sell To Terrorists – The Economist Report
“Nigeria’s army is mighty on paper,” the London magazine added.

The Nigerian Army is filled “with corrupt generals and unable to protect the country from the mutating violence,” The Economist newspaper reported.

“Nigeria’s army is mighty on paper,” the London magazine added.

“But many of its soldiers are ‘ghosts’ who exist only on the payroll, and much of its equipment is stolen and sold to insurgents.”

The Economist in an extensive report on Thursday said Nigeria had not been able to address its insecurity because military chiefs plundered much of the country’s combat resources and the rest had stretched thin with little capacity to forestall the crisis.

“Little more than six decades ago, as Nigeria was nearing independence, even those who were soon to govern Africa’s largest country had their doubts about whether it would hold together.

“British colonists had drawn a border around land that was home to more than 250 ethnic groups. Obafemi Awolowo, a politician of that era, evoked Metternich, fretting that Nigeria is not a nation. It is a mere geographical expression.

“The early years of independence seemed to prove him right. Coup followed coup. Ethnic pogroms helped spark a civil war that cost 1m lives, as the south-eastern region calling itself Biafra tried to break away and was ruthlessly crushed. Military rule was the norm until 1999.

“Despite this inauspicious start, Nigeria is now a powerhouse. Home to one in six sub-Saharan Africans, it is the continent’s most boisterous democracy. Its economy, the largest, generates a quarter of Africa’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

“The army is also stretched thin, having been deployed to all of Nigeria’s state,” the paper said in its upcoming October 23 issue that was published on its website today.

The paper also said Nigeria police has become demoralised due to poor training and endemic corruption.

“The police are understaffed, demoralised and poorly trained. Many supplement their low pay by robbing the public they have sworn to protect,” it said.

Nigerian soldiers, especially those deployed in Operation Lafiya Dole in the North-East, have always complained about poor welfare.

Some claimed they had not been given fragmental jackets (bullet-resistant vests) since they got drafted into the war theatre.

Some soldiers, who spoke to SaharaReporters in May, 2021 also lamented that the army owed them in uniform and boot allowances and also made deductions from their salary in the name of a housing scheme.

They added that they had not been eating and feeding well since their deployment to Borno.

“There was no housing scheme in the pipeline that the new Chief of Army Staff met when he assumed office. No soldier was consulted, and questionnaires were not shared to sensitise or sample the opinion of troops.

“Our salary has not been increased; we still buy uniforms and boots for ourselves; we live in dilapidated buildings. We've not been paid a uniform allowance and boot allowance. You are deployed to a company, the company pays the sum of N150,000, but the Commanding Officer will pay each soldier N30,000,” a soldier had said.

Politics / Lai Mohammed: Bandits Are Simple Criminals; Have No Flags Like Boko Haram, IPOB by AllahIsSatan: 3:32pm On Oct 18, 2021
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has said the armed bandits terrorising North-West and some other parts of Northern Nigeria are common criminals.

He said unlike Boko Haram and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who have ideologies and flags, they are simpler criminals.

According to him, bandits are just common criminals who believe in Nigeria’s unity and sovereignty, unlike Boko Haram and IPOB.

The Minister made this known on Monday during an interview on TVC's 'This Morning' programme.

Mohammed, one of President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministers, therefore, noted that bandits should not be compared with Boko Haram insurgents and IPOB separatists because they cannot be attached to a religious or an ideological goal.

“The difference between IPOB, Boko Haram on one side and bandits is that, while IPOB and Boko Haram are driven by ideology, a belief that they don’t want to be part Nigeria, bandits have no flags.

“Bandits have no flag. Bandits are simple criminals. There’s no difference between bandits and other criminals other than their ferocity,” the minister said. “Bandits have never said they don’t believe in Nigeria, they are just pure criminals,” he said.

The comments of the Minister came amidst growing calls for Buhari to declare bandits and killer herdsmen as terrorists.

Earlier in October, Mohammed on the Nigerian Television Authority programme, “Good Morning Nigeria,’’ said the accusation the Buhari government was treating bandits with kid gloves was erroneous and misleading.

Speaking on the issue during the programme monitored by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, the minister said the approach of the Nigerian government through the military in treating criminals is not to make a distinction between bandits and terrorists.

“I think we have been dancing around nomenclature, a criminal is a criminal whether it is a bandit or terrorist and the same measure is being meted out to them.

“That is why we find it ridiculous, the accusation that the federal government is softer on bandits than the separatists and other criminals.

“This is a fallacy, a fake news and misinformation all into one, and this is the kind of divisive rhetoric being promoted by some naysayers."

"It is senseless for the military to treat bandits, who are killing soldiers and policemen, with kid-gloves.

"The method of the military in fighting criminality through the land and air would not allow for any distinction between bandits and other criminals," he had said.

Religion / Re: Nuns Raped Little Girls With Crucifixes!!! by AllahIsSatan: 3:24pm On Oct 18, 2021
If a man has sex with a virgin who is not betrothed (regardless of whether or not it was rape or consensual) he is obliged to marry her. He should have sought her father’s permission first, negotiated a bride-price, and taken her as his wife. Because he did not, he is punished for this—he now must pay up (he can’t opt out any more) and marry her (which could be a major punishment in itself if this was a foolish, spur-of-the-moment act and she really wasn’t the right woman for him!).

Also note that "he may not divorce her all his days" – this initially doesn’t seem significant but is actually a major punishment. Deuteronomy 24:1-4 (restated more clearly in Matthew 5:32 and 19:9) allowed for divorce, but only in the case of sexual immorality (the word "uncleanness" refers to this and was translated as such in the LXX). This man now may not divorce his wife even for this reason, but is obliged to continue to support her all his life whatever she does.

But her father is ultimately in authority over her, as her head, until he hands this authority over to her husband. If the man is unsuitable, the father can refuse to give his daughter to him. How many fathers would give their daughter to a rapist? Not many. So, in general, a rapist would actually have to pay a 50 silver shekel fine to her father, and not get a wife at all.

The answer to the question is in Exodus 22:17 - the woman does NOT have to marry a rapist, she must only do what her father says.

Exodus 22:17 says:

If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he shall pay money equal to the bride-price for virgins.

haekymbahd:

New International Version
Deuteronomy 22
28 If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered

29he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.

If you have a lady you have crush on just rape and she will be yours you just need to spend little money

Politics / Scores Of Villagers Feared Killed As Suspected Bandits Attack Market In Sokoto by AllahIsSatan: 1:30pm On Oct 18, 2021
Suspected armed bandits have attacked villagers in the Goronyo market, Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

According to a report by NewsWire, the assailants attacked the market in large numbers on Sunday night, shooting sporadically and killing several persons.

Meanwhile, the number of casualties could not be ascertained at the time of publishing this report.

In the past two weeks, bandits have launched attacks on a village market in Sokoto.

Earlier this month, at least 19 traders were killed by bandits who raided a weekly market at Unguwan Lalle in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area of the state.

The attack also left several others injured, the majority of whom were taken to the General Hospital, Sabon Birni, for treatment.

Unguwan Lalle, a community located along Goronyo-Sabon Birni Road, has suffered a series of bandit attacks in recent months.

Five soldiers who were on a rescue mission in the area were ambushed and killed by bandits a few months ago. A resident had said the attack happened during market hours.

For several weeks, troops have been conducting air and ground operations on bandit camps in neighbouring Zamfara State where authorities have shut down telecoms services to disrupt communication between the gangs.

Bandits fleeing the military operation in Zamfara have set up camps in the Sabon Birni district from where they raid villages.

The influx of bandits from neighbouring Zamfara State prompted authorities in Sokoto to suspend weekly markets and shut down mobile phone services in border areas, including Sabon Birni.

Last week, some youths of Goronyo town in the Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto State flooded the streets to protest against the abysmal level of insecurity in the area.

A source said the youths were demonstrating against the insecurity in the area, which had forced many residents to flee the town.

He said, “Protest is going on at Goronyo town in Sokoto state. The youths took to the streets protesting rampant insecurity that is forcing people to flee the town. The protest is currently ongoing.”

Photos obtained by SaharaReporters show roadblocks and burning tyres as the youths expressed their displeasure with killings and kidnappings going on unchecked in their area.

Sokoto is one of the states ravaged by insecurity in the North, a situation that has worsened under President Muhammadu Buhari-led government. Just recently, the state government ordered the shutdown of telecommunications services in some parts of the state to curb the prevailing banditry in the state.

The ban on mobile phone services is effective in Dange Shuni, Tambuwal, Sabon Birni, Raba, Tureta, Goronyo, Tangaza and Isa local government areas amongst others.

Meanwhile, some bandits operating in the Eastern Senatorial District of the state recently resorted to writing letters to reach out to families of their victims to demand ransoms.

A source, who was privy to the bandits’ new antics in Sokoto, said a letter was written to a traditional ruler in Burkusuma, demanding a ransom to secure the release of 20 persons kidnapped from two communities in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area.

They just live on unemployment benefits and kill each other every day. Even the handful of them who have a basic junior high school education can barely read or write. It's a very sad situation.

Jakumo:
The term "wasted generation" has been used to describe Nigeria's youth now and then, but after viewing this short video clip, most readers will concede that regardless of how far from sanity Nigeria's youths have strayed, they are positively angelic in comparison to inner-city Chicago's truly lost generation of pistol-toting, drug-crazed, ghetto-dwelling angry young men.

Despite all my years as a USA resident in good standing, I found it virtually impossible to even understand a single word uttered by these glassy-eyed ghetto desperados all dressed up to display their buttocks in prison-love-inspred gang attire. These mannerisms and this idiotic dress code are clearly being aped by Nigeria's Yahoo boys, but Nigerians can at least count their lucky stars that handguns are not as easy to procure in Nigeria's south, as they are in Chicago's south side.

Check out these cretins boasting about their illegal guns for the world to see, and drop your comment.

Career / Re: Where Can I Gain Experience In Electrical Engineering? by AllahIsSatan: 1:05pm On Oct 18, 2021
As an electrical engineer, no experience is necessary to get an entry-level role, meaning, you'll have to start from the bottom.

In this position, you may design, test, build, and repair electronics and other electrical systems, research the most effective way to install wiring, and use a variety of tools and equipment to get the job done.

Your employer will most likely use this role as a type of training or apprenticeship where you work under the supervision of a senior electrical engineer to gain additional experience.

Entry-level electrical engineers often help prepare complex calculations, measure power flow and system impact, prepare design reports and material specifications, and inspect completed work to ensure it meets all safety and system standards.

As long as you have the basic educational qualifications (like at least a bachelor's degree or an OND), you'll be fine.

You may have to ask your solicitor to take First Bank to court. They usually cooperate if a court order is made against them because they will be scared of the bad publicity it will give them. Perhaps you may also want to publicise your case and make it trend so that their reputation will be at stake if they continue to act irresponsibly.

Best978:
This might be a long read and I'm hoping I get a solution out of this.

Someone used my first bank MasterCard and funded over 95k to his/her bet9ja account. First bank being awful as it is only started giving me the alerts a day and 2 after or I'd have long blocked my card earlier. What's making it even worse is this person I trusted them enough to have maybe used my card to fund them making it easier to fund without requesting an OTP.

I've reached out to First Bank countless times. Calls, emails, even been to the bank physically yet somehow they're claiming they cannot give me the full details of the transaction and I have to get it from Bet9ja. I've already gotten a police report to nab this person.

Bet9ja either are not being helpful. Keep saying it's my bank and they cannot track this person without me getting extra details from my bank.

It just seems as these companies are indirectly promoting fraud. This is really frustrating as the country is hard enough as it is, and having your hard earned money go is even more painful.

Please who knows a way out of this?
