My point is, Messi isn't as prolific as before.

The psg days was not it cos of mpape and Neymar.
Messi needs a club where the players love him and have no envy.

That's why he's trying at inter Miami FC. They love him and don't care if he scores all the goals.

Y'all penadogs getting dvmber everyday dem no love am in France yet he never go trophiless still use the country lift world cup while penado never win spoon since he Comot Juventus...cry harder mf Ogun pa e danu

Foreign Affairs / USA - Saudi Petrodollar Pact Ends After 50 Years by Almiron: 2:46pm On Jun 14
The 50-year-old petrodollar agreement between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia was just allowed to expire. The term “petrodollar” refers to the U.S. dollar’s role as the currency used for crude oil transactions on the world market.

This arrangement has its roots in the 1970s when the United States and Saudi Arabia struck a deal shortly after the U.S. went off the gold standard that would go on to have far-reaching consequences for the global economy.

In the history of global finance, few agreements have wielded as many benefits as the petrodollar pact did for the U.S. economy.

The petrodollar agreement, formalized after the 1973 oil crisis, stipulated that Saudi Arabia would price its oil exports exclusively in U.S. dollars and invest its surplus oil revenues in U.S. Treasury bonds.

In return, the U.S. provided military support and protection to the kingdom. This arrangement was a win-win situation for both; the U.S. gained a stable source of oil and a captive market for its debt, while Saudi Arabia secured its economic and overall security.

However, the petrodollar’s dominance may be facing its most significant challenge yet. The agreement between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia expired on June 9, 2024. This expiration has far-reaching implications, as it has the potential to disrupt the global financial order.

The shifting power dynamics in the oil market are a critical factor in this development. The rise of alternative energy sources, such as renewables and natural gas, has reduced the world’s reliance on oil.

Furthermore, the emergence of new oil-producing nations, such as Brazil and Canada, has challenged the traditional dominance of the Middle East.

The petrodollar’s expiration could weaken the U.S. dollar and, by extension, the U.S. financial markets. If oil were to be priced in a currency other than the dollar, it could lead to a decline in global demand for the greenback. This, in turn, could result in higher inflation, higher interest rates, and a weaker bond market in the United States.

The expiration of the petrodollar agreement represents a significant shift in global power dynamics. It highlights the growing influence of emerging economies and the changing energy landscape.

While the full implications of this shift remain to be seen, investors should at least be aware that on a macro level, the global financial order is entering a new era. The U.S. dollar’s dominance is no longer guaranteed.

ThierryJay:

Spot on bro. Holland, Denmark and Greece have won the Euros, but never good enough to win the World cup.

Big European teams like Germany, Portugal, France, Spain, Italy could not even make it out of WC Group stage at various times. This cannot happen in Euros.

European opposition in Group stage Euros are weaker. All dem Hungaries, Austria, Georgia, Finland, Armenia etc. These are countries that are not even good enough to make it to the WC.

When Messi played Estonia like you said, he scored 5 goals in that match something wey Pendu never even do before in all his years of bullying awoof European villages. Imagine if he were to be playing similar European minnows every season, he'd be on 300 international goals by now.

And lastly, ask any Pendulum that between Euros and WC, which of them would they prefer for their asun, it's a no-brainer.

All their shalaye is just out of spite. No evidence.

Op has gone to manipulate the interview. MOU was talking about the best player he never got to manage. He then mentioned Messi, stating that the player is actually too good to be managed/coached in the real sense of it.

It was never about the best player in the world.

It's not a coincidence that most, if not all, of Penaldo's ex-teammates and coaches always recognize Messi as the best.

It should be common knowledge unless you're blind, because comparing Messi to that fraud should be a punishable offense. There's literally nothing to compare, aside from physical appearance.

Messi is thousands of miles ahead of the desert trash. Even José, his fellow countryman—I bet the f00l will unfollow him.

Sports / Mourinho Picks FC Barcelona Icon Messi Over Ronaldo As Best Of Generation by Almiron: 8:49pm On Jun 13
Football manager Jose Mourinho chose FC Barcelona legend Lionel Messi over compatriot and Real Madrid icon Cristiano Ronaldo as the greatest player of their generation, in comments made to TNT Sports.

Mourinho is currently set to take the reins at Fenerbahce when club football resumes after international tournaments such as the Euros and Copa America have taken place.

Messi and Ronaldo will feature in them for their respective countries Argentina and Portugal, in what could be the last time we get to see them at a major competition considering they are already on the road to 40.

On Tuesday to ESPN, Messi confirmed that Inter Miami will be his last club yet he also stressed that he's not ready to retire yet.

Mourinho on the other hand could only just be getting started as a head coach. Yet given he has already spent 20 years at the top of the game, which have yielded two Champions Leagues and a number of domestic championships, the 61-year-old has plenty to reflect on.

TNT Sports asked him the one player who he wished he had signed, and for the Portuguese there were no doubts.

"Of course I would have to say the little guy," Mourinho answered, in reference to eight-time Ballon d'Or winner Messi. "But the little guy was not coachable. But I have to say, in our generation, he was the best."

This means that Mourinho picks Messi ahead of his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo in an endless debate among football fans, which might not be well received by his ex-Real Madrid forward from 2010 to 2013.

CR7 was however chosen in a shortlist of the best players Mourinho has had the chance to work with.

"You know, it is very hard to say, to speak about [John] Terry, [Frank] Lampard, [Didier] Drogba, Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso, Man United, all the Inter guys, I don't know," Mourinho said.

As for the best supporters in the world, Mourinho remarked: "Old Trafford is Old Trafford, Bernabeu is Bernabeu, San Siro is San Siro, Stamford Bridge is Stamford Bridge ... But I would say for a team not used to winning, Roma fans are so, so loyal to the team."

Mbappe is right in my opinion. Euros is tougher. Because they are competing with World Cup regular contenders.
The so called two time winner Uruguay last won the cup 40years old, when last did Brazil win it, before Messi won World Cup when last did Argentina win it So that basis doesn’t count at all!!! Euros is tougher than Copa America by far !! Messi should rest.
No bragging it’s just facts
you no go cry keh!!! Greece won the Euros, they have only 3 world cup appearance in their history. The first time Messi played against Penado's favorite team Estonia, he scored 5 goals in that match

Sports / Messi Responds To Mbappé's Claim About Euros Vs World Cup by Almiron: 3:19pm On Jun 13
Lionel Messi is gearing up to compete in another Copa América with Argentina, where the primary goal is to defend their title and reaffirm their dominance by lifting the trophy for the second consecutive time.

To achieve this, they must overcome rivals including the likes of Brazil and Uruguay, as the tournament in the United States gets underway on 20 June

A few days ago, Kylian Mbappé, the new Real Madrid signing, made it clear that he aims to win Euro 2024 with France, believing it to be a tougher competition than the World Cup.

In my opinion, it’s a more difficult tournament than the World Cup. It becomes very, very challenging right from the group stage. We haven’t won it for 24 years, which is significant, but we’re not putting any extra pressure on ourselves. We’re focusing on preparing well for the group stage to perform strongly,” he stated to the media.

In response, Messi, in an exclusive interview with ESPN – where he also confirmed that Inter Miami would be his final club – addressed Mbappé's comments.

Everyone values the competition they play in. Obviously, the Euros are a very important tournament with the best teams, but it excludes Argentina, a three-time World Cup champion, Brazil, a five-time World Cup champion, and Uruguay, a two-time World Cup champion. There are many world champions left out, making it hard to claim it’s the toughest.

The World Cup features the best teams, including all the world champions generally, and that’s why everyone wants to become World Champion,” he concluded.

Sports / Lionel Messi Reveals Inter Miami Will Be His 'last Club' by Almiron: 2:48pm On Jun 13
Lionel Messi said Inter Miami is going to be his "last club" and admitted that "there's not a lot of time left" in his career.

Messi, 36, joined Inter Miami last summer, bringing an end to his 20-year stint in Europe in which he played for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner has scored 14 goals in all competitions for an Inter Miami side that is top of the Eastern Conference this season.

Messi has been joined by his former Barcelona teammates Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba at Miami and told ESPN Argentina in an exclusive interview that he thinks "it's going to be my last club."

Messi is Barcelona's top scorer with 672 goals and scored 32 goals and registered 35 assists in his two seasons at PSG. In a storied career that has seen him win 40 trophies for club and country -- including four Champions Leagues and a Copa América title -- its crowning glory is the World Cup he won with Argentina in 2022.

Messi told ESPN for the interview broadcast Wednesday that the triumph in Qatar gave him new perspective on his career.

"I've done this all of my life; I love playing ball. I enjoy the practices and the day-to-day, the games. Yeah, there's a bit of fear that it's all ending. It's always there. It was a difficult step leaving Europe to come here [Miami]," he said.

"The fact we won the World Cup helped, it helped a lot, to see things in another way. But I try not to think about it. I try to enjoy it. I do that more now because I'm aware that there's not a lot of time left. So I have a good time with the club, being lucky having good teammates and friends at my side."

"I enjoy my time with the national team, where I also have good friends, too, and a lot. I enjoy those small details that I know I'll miss when I stop playing."

While injuries saw Messi miss Argentina's games against El Salvador and Costa Rica in March, he remains integral to the team's chances of retaining the Copa América later this summer and marked his return to the international stage in Argentina's win over Ecuador on Sunday.

"Argentina is always a favorite and a contender, at Copa America as well as in World Cups," Messi said. "We're more of a favorite now because of where we're coming from, having won the last Copa America, the Finalissima and the World Cup -- and because of the group of players we have.

"I've been training for a few days and what never fails to surprise me is how they practice, the guys' attitude, the desire to win, the hunger to keep winning. It's going to be a difficult Copa America, very balanced as it's always been, but we have a good chance to again be among the best."

Foreign Affairs / Russian Naval Ships, Including Nuclear-powered Submarine, To Visit Cuba by Almiron: 8:43pm On Jun 10
Havana, Cuba CNNA group of Russian naval ships, including a nuclear-powered submarine, will visit Cuba next week as part of “historically friendly relations,” Cuba’s government said Thursday

The Russian “frigate Gorshkov, the nuclear-powered submarine Kazan, the fleet oil tanker Pashin, and the rescue tug Nikolai Chiker” will visit the port of Havana between June 12 and 17, according to the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces in a statement published by the Foreign Ministry.

Cuba says none of the ships carry nuclear weapons and insists their stopover does not represent a threat to the region.

Visits by naval units from other countries are a historical practice of the revolutionary government with nations that maintain relations of friendship and collaboration,” the statement added.

Last July, the Russian Navy’s training class ship Perekop sailed into Havana for a four-day visit.

The latest visit appears to be the largest of its kind in years.

Cuba is increasingly reliant on Russian oil and aid as the communist-run country weathers its worst economic crisis in decades.

Cuba’s announcement comes days after US President Joe Biden gave Ukraine permission to carry out limited strikes inside Russian territory with American munitions. In response, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Western countries “supplying weapons to a conflict zone is always a bad thing.

“Visits by naval units from other countries are a historical practice of the revolutionary government with nations that maintain relations of friendship and collaboration,” the statement added.

Moscow has not confirmed the information provided by Cuba. CNN has reached out to the Russian government for comment.

It’s not the first time Russian Navy ships have been sent to Cuba, a key ally to the former Soviet Union during the Cold War that briefly hosted nuclear missiles at Moscow’s behest during the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

Last July, the Russian Navy’s training class ship Perekop sailed into Havana for a four-day visit.

Putin warns Russia could arm enemies of Western nations supplying weapons to Ukraine
Cuba’s announcement comes days after US President Joe Biden gave Ukraine permission to carry out limited strikes inside Russian territory with American munitions. In response, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Western countries “supplying weapons to a conflict zone is always a bad thing.

In the end, if we see that these countries become involved in a war against us, what they are doing makes them directly involved in a war against the Russian Federation, we reserve the right to act the same way,” Putin said on Wednesday.

Putin added that as a response, “we will improve our air defense systems to destroy the missiles.” He also asked why Russia would “not have the right to supply our weapons of the same class to those regions of the world where there will be strikes on the sensitive facilities of those countries that are doing this against Russia?”

No direct threat

Russia’s military is expected to increase its naval and air activity near the United States this summer as part of routine maneuvers in the lead up to a global naval exercise in the fall, according to the US State Department and the Pentagon.

Alongside Russian ships this summer will also be one of the Russian Navy’s Severodvinsk II-class submarines, Dietz said. The port call for that submarine was approved “at least in part due to Havana’s displeasure” over the visit of a US nuclear submarine to the US’ Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba last year, he said.

Cuba has hosted Russian ships every year between 2013 and 2020, Dietz said, adding that the exercises “impose a significant cost on the Russian Navy, which faces challenges in maintaining readiness and conducting deployments with an aging fleet.

Given Russia’s long history of Cuban port calls, these are considered routine naval visits, especially in the context of increased US support to Ukraine and NATO exercises,” Dietz said.
