A 26-year-old National Youth Service Corp member, simply identified as Ernest, has committed suicide after being jilted by his girlfriend, Chioma Okewuru, who is also a corps member. Vanguard Newspaper reports



The two corps members met and fell in love while serving in Redemption Secondary School, Ofombogha 1 in Obubra Local Government Area of Cross Rivers State. Vanguard Newspaper reports that the deceased, a graduate of the University of Benin, went berserk when the lady came back from her village over the weekend with a ring from a man she had promised to marry.

Mr. Noah Ntuen, Acting Divisional Police Officer for Obubra confirmed the incident saying “the girl had told the guy that she would not marry him, but that they could be friends. The wife, Taiwo, was on Tuesday delivered of a baby boy who had no arms.

The baby boy, our correspondent gathered, was born around 2pm at a private hospital, Majotal Medical Clinic at the Ilogbo area of Ado/Odo-Ota Local Government Area of the state.

It was further learnt that the baby weighed 3.25 kilogrammes at birth.


The mother of the baby told our correspondent that immediately she gave birth to the baby boy, her husband took to his heels on hearing that the baby was born without arms.

Am very disapointed with what Nigeria president in which he said; Koli should come out to subtantiate d recoding tape. The Buhari Support Organisation has said Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, needs medical help to cure him of his negative obsession with the All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.).

Director of Media and Information Technology of the BSO, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, who trained as a medical doctor, said this in response to Fayose’s claim that Buhari was too frail to govern Nigeria.

According to him, ordinarily the BSO would have ignored his claims as the ranting of a threatened species of a drowning politician but because the governor was a leader of the party in the South-West geo-political zone, it would be difficult to ignore him.

Madukwe said, “The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayo Fayose, is suffering from what we call in medicine obsessive compulsive disorder, based on an appetite and a wish to see General Muhammadu Buhari dead.

“He is a psychopath, whose obsession has alter his sense of rational analysis of situations whenever he hears the name, Buhari. Unfortunately, he is not God and does not have control of the life of our revered General.

“Fayose should go back home and prepare to defend himself in the case of the massive rigging that led to the stolen mandate he currently enjoys and leave our general alone.”
