Politics / Re: FG, States Can Pay Minimum Wage With Recovered Loot — Falana by Alsenora: 3:57pm On Jun 14
Recovered loot will hardly do a month one off payment of salaries. It is not even a sustainable source like you pointed. States should be generating revenue internally by establishing capital projects as against expenditure mostly on consumption with Abuja handouts or borrowed funds.
SoNature:
Recovered loot is not a source of income anyone can plan with. Governors should be borrowing money and investing in productive ventures that yield money for the states. That's how you grow your IGR and depend less on Abuja handouts.

Agriculture / Re: Step By Step Improve Way Of Cultivating TOMATOES by Alsenora: 3:12pm On Jun 02
It's just the weather that changed the narative. The period you did the seedlings would be on point last season. The ones i transplanted in batches were result of failed nursery replanted twice. Henceforth i will prefer sowing in batches to combat the unpredictable weather.
REUBEN010:

Nursed mine early February. Learnt my lessons and currently making plans for a better production with next batch.

Agriculture / Re: Step By Step Improve Way Of Cultivating TOMATOES by Alsenora: 5:52pm On Jun 01
The ones in my field are not this bad though could be better. But similar to what you experienced, seeslings I transplanted late march weren't so good, the one done early April better while the last set done in late April had the best fruit set compared to the rest. Like you pointed, adverse weather had its toll on tomato plants, especially those planted early in the year.
REUBEN010:

This year's climate is the worst I've ever experienced. I lost all my 50g Cobra 26F1 seedlings although can't tell if the seed quality is compromised this year because 2 other tomato farmer friends also experienced the same with Cobra. One lost 3 tins of 50g each while the other lost 4 tins. Same Cobra that gave us good production last year.
The Diva that managed to survive aborted over 75% of its flowers. Tomato has dealt with me this year. My succor is in the 2acres of rodo I have that's currently fruiting else, I would be lost completely.

Crime / Re: Hilarious Conversation Between A Scammer And The Person He Scammed by Alsenora: 5:04am On May 31
Most police stations are den of vice from personal experience
Dogalmighty17:
It appears funny right? But in a society with established systems that work that scammer will be cooling off in a police cell.

They told us every line has a NIN and every bank account has a BVN. They made Nigerians suffer under the sun qieuing up to submit biometrics for all this rubbish and yet scammers have increased. They operate freely without fear.

If at all you choose to involve the banks and the courts, you will be frustrated. All of a sudden, the bank tells you it doesn't have the details of whoever scammed you. You involve the police, they will demand outrageous sums from you in the name of tracking. You pay the police to do their job.

This is not how society should operate. Nigeria is a shame and a disgrace.
Politics / Re: Tanzania Surpasses Nigeria To Become India's Second Largest Trading Partner by Alsenora: 5:41am On May 30
It's even better for the 2 countries in terms of proximity for trade relations(both are linked directly by Indian Ocean) unlike Nigeria. It's really no big deal...
Reflect7:
Which one is ''Tanzania surpasses Nigeria in trade with India''?

Is Nigeria competing with anyone to be ''largest trading partner with India''?

Does Nigeria's existence or prosperity depend solely on trade with India?

Is India the only country on Earth?

You (Emergency) Nigerians need to start using your damn heads.

The most important thing for us in Africa is to increase INTRA-AFRICAN TRADE.

In other continents like Europe, Asia, and the Americas, internal trade within their continent accounts for upwards of 50% or more of their total trade.

For Africa, that figure is 16%.

And you wonder why there is poverty?

Colonialism disrupted the buoyant pre-colonial intra-African trade ecosystem and redirected our focus to shipping raw materials to Europe.

Sending our wealth and capital to Europe instead of rotating it within the continent.

We are now re-addressing that through the African Continental Free Trade Agreement.

But OP and his ilk are still stuck in the past, making silly posts like this.

Wake up.

This is a motivation for every hustle out there. The pay day will surely come.Just keep grinding in your work of choosing.I wasn't born with a silver spoon but I never looked down on myself. I've been a hard worker right from when I was a kid and now at age 20, I have a place to call my own.

I have done menial jobs from clearing farms for people, going on errands and fetching firewood.I did all these while squatting with friends. They fed me because I washed their clothes and kept the place tidy.In this life, you always have to prove your usefulness to people so that they in turn can help you.

In the course of doing my menial jobs, I met a man who linked me with a fuel attendant job late last year.I was able to save up and secure my house.

Always believe in yourself.

Next thing is to save up and apply for my ND.

It can only get better from here.

Very true of you to point out the writer's opinion is that of a non economist....
Volksfuhrer:
Mr Kperogi Farook, it’s too early for all this. When you restructure an economy, it gets worse before it gets better. Mobility of resources isn’t instantaneous, it takes time: hence the externalities we are witnessing now. A little research on your part would have done you a lot of good even if you had never taken a course in economics! The Freudian slip you inferred was petty; you are a PhD, you should know better!
Politics / Re: Ben Murray-Bruce Talks About The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway by Alsenora: 2:43pm On May 05
Many opposing the project are just ignorant or simply see no good in present administration for reason known to them. Bat and his team should ignore their rants as works are focused on.
casualobserver:

Most of you are ignorant illiterates. Dave Umahi has stated many times that all federal govt roads are being repaired. The problem is we do t have the money to repair all the roads quickly so work is slow. He stated categorically there are just under 3000 awarded road contract and there is none where work is not on going.

Now a private company comes with a proposal to build a new transformational road with their own money. The road will cost $15b, the government will put down $1b, they will finance the rest and recoup their money from tolls. Mind you the entire budget for Nigeria is just under $30b. Should the govt say no?

Is the $15b for Lagos Calabar govt money? No!

Is they don’t build the Lagos Calabar road will the $15b go towards existing roads? No!

Are they repairing existing roads? Yes
But at a slow pace because we have no money!

If they don’t construct Lagos Calabar will it make repairs on existing roads faster? No!

Know the facts before you comment.
Existing roads are being repaired but govt has no money so it is slow.
The money for Lagos Calabar is not govt money and if you cancel the project the money will not go to existing g roads because it is not govt money.

Curly leaves isn't an issue...just a kind of way the plant reduces surface area...conserve moisture due to harsh/hot relative humidity. You should get rid of the wilted ones. The doulble rows will give poor aeration...

Keaton:
Unknown Igbo and yoruba actors feature in Hollywood blockbusters all the time. This right here is not news. It would've been news if they had been identifying with their roots like John Boyega or Chiwetel Ejiofor. These ones will not even mention Nigeria in any part of their biography. Stop all this famzing for the sake of tribalism. I'm sure that if they were Igbo, you would never have brought this yeye news to NL.

Nigeria is regressing daily and you're coming here to tell us about by force "Nigerians" who dont even identify as Nigerians.

Politics / Re: Michael Chibuzo Replies Obi's Criticism Of The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway by Alsenora: 6:59pm On Apr 30
The 4th Mainland bridge will further ease congestion of vehicular movement....and will have synergistic effect with the coastal road, especially within the Epe/Ikorodu/Ogun State axis...it will have similar impact along the entire 700km coastal stretch boosting myrads of businesses in its wake. To imagine some persons see no good in the laudable project attest to their level of myopism.

There are alternatives to get you to the mainland or island. Perhaps, you have never been to Lagos.

God bless you bro. I similarly belong to one and hardly ever comment but would never view or describe my peers who do as jobless. Life shouod never be viewed only in someone's perspective.
Sheuns:
You that have a job, I want to believe you work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 30/31 days a month, 365/366 days a year.

It’s childish to think that because people talk about trends on your group means they’re jobless or you that don’t talk is more busy than some of them there.

I am on several group chats of old school friends, I barely say anything cos I don’t have what to say or just contribute to discussions that are important. It’s not that I’m the busiest person or those that discuss are jobless.

My secondary school Alunmi group is very useful and helpful to me. I remember a few weeks ago my younger brother's phone was stolen at gun point, I had to call the guy that added me to the group to ask if he knows anyone that works in the bank my brother banks with. He got me a contact in less than 3 minutes and the contact successfully helped me put the account on PND. This was around 10pm at night.

Several other connections are there to be made and used.
