Even the bible advocates beating. Spare the rod, spoil the child.

I find it hard that parents these days want to stray away from the discipline that made them who they are today.

Politics / Re: Dangote Refinery Sells Petrol At ₦‎960/Litre To Ships, ₦‎990 For Trucks by alt3r3g0: 2:44am On Nov 04
“Post deregulation, NNPC set the pace by selling PMS to domestic marketers at N971 per litre for sale into ships and at N990 for sale into trucks. This set the benchmark for our pricing and we have even gone lower to sell at N960 per litre for sale into ships while maintaining N990 per litre for sale into trucks.

Is this not greed? How do you benchmark against someone's cost that includes international shipping to and fro when yours is manufactured locally?..then remove 10 naira for ships?

Either you want to protect the person's business (Malta Plant) or just plain greed.

At the end the grass (Nigerians) suffer for it

Family / Re: How Are Young Married Men Coping In This Economy? by alt3r3g0: 12:46am On Oct 29
There was a thread recently that 500k a month is no longer middle class and people were against the OP.

10 years ago when USD was around 120, 500k a month was over 4k USD.

Getting visa was a breeze with that income

Now that it's 1700. That's far less than minimum wage at under 300USD.

Guilty conscience.

Who does not know that naija is "fantastically corrupt"?

Only a guilty conscience would make it look like a personal attack when fact is spoken.
Politics / Re: Tinubu Is In France & Shettima In Sweden, While Nigerians Face Hunger —Peter Obi by alt3r3g0: 1:56pm On Oct 18
Again, since the President is reportedly in Paris, France, which is just about 833 nautical miles from Stockholm, Sweden, one wonders why he did not just attend the 2-day working visit to Sweden. He could simply have done it on his way back from France with his new powerful jet, which would have taken him a little over 2 hours.

This would have saved time and the very scarce national resources we need critically at this time. Instead, he delegated the Vice President, who needed to travel 3055 nautical miles, over nine hours, and (about 4 times the travel time from Paris to Stockholm, Sweden, to represent him at the event.

This is the main point...if vacation is over, why call someone from 9 hrs away to represent you that is 2hrs away? Makes absolutely no sense.

But then again in naija, common sense is not common.

Who is the State CSO?

Its unreasonable to mention Wike thats in Abuja in such case and I dont see anything wrong in what PBAT did

You are responsible for your state, bro.

Last I checked it's on record that a minister under Tinubu, not only threatened violence in the state, he threatened other governors that will intervene.

Last I checked, state police is not constitutional so who gave the orders for the police to hands off their duties?

In a sane society, not only should Wike be sacked and disciplined for threats of violence, but whoever gave the orders for police to go on holiday and be derelict of their duties (Igp or whoever) should be sacked as well.

But here we have the president asking them to "return" to duty.

What a disgrace!

As long as they have sycophants like you that applaud every nonsense (hopefully you are being paid to do so) nothing will ever change.

Cost of freighting and customs duties should surely impact the cost of sale.

Expert in what sef?

Exactly!

Sometimes, I wonder if these "experts" are really this ignorant or they are just shamelessly reading a script.

You see some defending OVH monopoly of the petrol claiming it's because they sell crude in naira, import duty since refinery is located in trade free zone etc Ignoring the fact that diesel is handled differently.

OVH must protect their Malta plant and that is all this noise is all about.
