Politics / Re: Divisional Police Officer Killed In Kano by Ama28(f): 3:26pm On Mar 19, 2013 |
I have a feeling that any unsolved crime can now be labelled Boko Haram especially if its at the North. I hope this will be investigated and perpetrators brought to book. These are some of the things that de-motivates our police officers. Such gruesome murder. I hope Mr Jonathan is still in charge because from where am standing it looks like terrorists are! May God console the family |
Health / Re: Facts About Malaria!! by Ama28(f): 3:10pm On Mar 19, 2013 |
~Bluetooth: No dear the funders are shying away from malaria. Do you know if one tenth of funds going to HIV goes to malaria it will be a history in Nigeria. Look at some funders on HIV in Nigeria, Gate and the wife, Clinton foundation, PEPFAR, Global fund, ENCAP, USAID, PPFN among others. Most donors has withdrawn from malaria, now its in the hand of our government whose only feasible program is roll back malaria. And they have no interest in the program even because malaria no fit enter aso rock but no try HIV! Government cannot do it alone, we all have a role to play in preventive approach abi government fit come clean gutters on our streets? |
Health / Re: Facts About Malaria!! by Ama28(f): 3:02pm On Mar 19, 2013 |
onyxo76: i read somewhere as a medical student then that malaria originated from the old roman empire, then it was called mal-air which meant "bad air" , this was linked to polluted air from the marshes and swamps which bred the mosquitoes. Thanks for your info filled response but I had an experience with this malaria thing sometime ago. I had to work in another state and was sick after the job. I was diagnosed as having malaria and given drugs. I had that drug and for two days couldn't sleep. I was in a meeting and a collegua said, girl what's up with your body? Ur all red! I went to a mirrow and saw that I had rashes all over! She happens to be on anti malaria drug too and the same I was taking, when she brought out hers, behold I had a fake one. I took poison. This was few days to an event of a lifetime! My synopsis dear is, fake drugs producing and drug companies are having vested interest in malaria programs in Nigeria. And until we deal with malaria issues holistically, we will be seen more glaring data |
Politics / Re: Senators Are Worse Than Robbers –suspects by Ama28(f): 11:29am On Mar 19, 2013 |
So we are now on stealing spree? People now steal because politicians are stealing? And they show no remorse? More over they weren't armed! I wonder what our society is generating into! Oga thieves na sanko una dey go, talk of guts! |
Politics / Re: Senators Are Worse Than Robbers –suspects by Ama28(f): 11:00am On Mar 19, 2013 |
I can't stop laughing, ok so because the politicians steal we should all take to the streets and steal? No! That's not the ways its don't brothers, we also wasted our fund chasing you for months before recovering the items. The way its done is that the law will take its course and you guys are not even remorseful! You stole those items and your feeling that its your right not to be prosecuted. |
Politics / Re: World’s Most Crime-ridden ISP Is In Nigeria by Ama28(f): 10:53am On Mar 19, 2013 |
Who is surprised at this report? The west also played a role so let's put all our cards on the table. They can curb this menace from the Netherland point or they are also enjoying the dividend? But seriously our guys need to stop this global embarrassment, its going way too much! |
Politics / Re: FG Lifts Flight Suspension Of Dana Airlines by Ama28(f): 10:37am On Mar 19, 2013 |
"Nigeria's Aviation Ministry has lifted a brief flight suspension against Dana Air, the airline involved in the country's deadliest plane crash in the last 20 years. The ministry said on Monday it reversed a Saturday decision to suspend Dana flights over "safety issues" with one aircraft after a meeting with the Nigerian airline's staff." Ministry of aviation did not tell us why that ban was lifted. That ban was supposed to save more lives and serve as a deterrent to other airlines. How come its looking like money has changed hands? So safety issue with one aircraft is not enough reason to suspend an aircraft? Let's put it more accurately so one hundred and sixty lives is not worth the ban! Ok airlines you have heard |
Health / Re: Facts About Malaria!! by Ama28(f): 10:22am On Mar 19, 2013 |
This malaria data is scary men! I wish funders can invest more into malaria prevention than HIV because from the data we are bearing more of the burden in Africa. But one always invests where his business lies. They need to sell their ARV hence fund us to contribute our counterpart funds. Another thing is, with this high rate how many of our homes have mosquito treated nets? Not the average homes, I mean our rural and sub urban (ghetto) dwellers? And they are the hardest hits! We need to start making our intervention approach to be preventive/proactive and not reactive The ones they shared how many people got and how many are using them correctly? No one hears about malaria again! Even the anti malaria drugs are fake. My poor nation! E go beta |

Politics / Re: FG To Invest N1.6trn In Railway by Ama28(f): 7:49am On Mar 19, 2013 |
Sincere 9gerian:I agree with you on the terror on figures but I strongly think its intentional because if its fake news of arresting one ghost boko haram leader, there won't be error. Let's think of it how can an issue as sensitive as a capital budget of Ministry of Transport prepared by statisticians be error filled. Anyways that's expected in Nigeria. Look at it more closely this project has time over run, cash over haul and now it still budgetted for every year, any project management expert will crash this project to get results but because people are benefitting from this billions as annual tax free income we still see it in our national budget! This is so irritating |
Politics / Re: FG To Invest N1.6trn In Railway by Ama28(f): 7:47pm On Mar 18, 2013 |
Fraud fraud fraud! A project that was initially planned for and fully funded has time over run and had a fresh allocation and is still having time over run. It is costing us the sum of N195b to conduct a feasibility study. Even the feasibility study conducted before going to the moon is not this cost intensive! Out of the 1.09billion only 200million was provided as what percent of the total budget? And people are dancing azonto on this topic Accord to this write up "It recalled that N1.09bn was allocated to the project in the 2011 budget; N626.69m was released but only N195.47m was utilised as at the end of the third quarter of 2011. Six hunddred and something million was released, one ninety five million was utilised please where is the rest of the released money cos till date we are still budgetting on that project! Mr Jonathan is purely fundraising for his presidential ambition come 2015, we will wait for him at the voting point, then shall he understand what it means to be a fraudster! This is so sad, yet he is here licking the spit of bill gate for fund for polio. This money could kick polio out of Nigeria and Pakistan! 1 Like |

This is disheartening! Again Mr Jonathan will express his value for his people and their lives with his silence. We need a leader who can stop this mayhem. my heart goes out to all casualties and their families! No one deserve such death! And tomorrow we will hear debate for them to be applauded and paid billions in the name of Amnesty to congratulate them for these lives! Jokers! 5 Likes |

Politics / Re: Former Abia Policeman Sentenced To Death By Hanging by Ama28(f): 12:01pm On Mar 12, 2013 |
I have a problem with the headline of this news! What is former Abia Policeman? The police is Nigerian police and we don't have state police? It looks like our media just keeps decaying by the day. |
Politics / Re: Boko-Haram Kill Four People In Kano Drive-by Shooting by Ama28(f): 9:41am On Mar 11, 2013 |
It still baffles me how FG cannot curb these guys. The government have had a lot of breakthroughs and other things that they showcase and parade at the media. So my question is this, if you have caught politicians with houses full of arms, have found bomb making factories and even their sponsors pls what else is our president waiting to control these guys from the top? Or are the news of their discoveries fake? Why are we still loosing lives here? RIP to the dead |

Genevive's dressing is a disappointment seriously. She is too old to wear that. And Denrele! That was a very embarrassing question you pulled there. And then cat ate her tongue!!! 1 Like |

I didn't feel the dress a lot, it just ok but not eye rolling or fabulous like I expected. Rita's sense of fashion has always being exquisite but she was more decently dressed than Genevive so for that I give her a plus. But seriously what's with all the quarky dressings? Mid life crisis? 1 Like |
Family / Re: Teen Pregnancy Prevention Ads: Too Harsh?! by Ama28(f): 11:18pm On Mar 09, 2013 |
I strongly think this ad is stigmatizing on the teenage parents who needs their emotional stability to raise better kids than themselves. This message might not really sound as a deterrent to the teens because it takes a little pressure from peers to do wrong. It all boils down to sex education which empowers them to have an opinion and be assertive. So my take is that this ad is like burning down your house to catch a rat. A teen that is pregnant today is not a totally loss case, she has a greater chance of getting pregnant again and again than a fresh one! How can an administration cut down on sex education budget and not expect to get such pact from the children |
Politics / Re: Weapons And Bomb-making Devices Found At Politician’s Residence by Ama28(f): 5:21pm On Mar 06, 2013 |
I don't think the name of the so called politician should be with held. How can someone have such ammunition and the Nigerian Army and media is with holding His identity, please who is he fighting with? This also points out to how porous our borders are. If the Nigerian Navy and immigration gets serious with arm smuggling the way NDLEA is serious with drug trafficking then this will drastically reduce. This again is the point where our supposed president will not make public statement like in other serious matters in the past! Long live Nigeria |

Op, I want to start by admiring your sound analytical skills. You are a good writer. I read this out to my hubby as we were going out now and guess what? For the first time we are on the same page on a sensitive issue like this. I say thumb up for our girls and for holding their head high! Sexuality right and education is still a constant issue in the world. We need not judge them, we encourage our women to become better.
