Sports / Mikel Obi- The Media Always Picks On Me by Anamachi3(m): 6:31pm On Nov 23, 2015 |
Chelsea midfielder, Mikel Obi has said he is not at
war with the Nigerian media, but the only problem
he has with them is that they do not do things rightly.
The Nigerian media have always described Mikel as
been arrogant, proud and a snob, but Miklel says they
need to let all that go and do their job professionally
instead of giving him a bad name. He also said, he
believes most of the papers like picking on him to
sell their stuff and make money, just because every
sport lover wants to read about him.
Interestingly, he also spoke about marriage and still
finding it very difficult to pick a woman to marry. He
says only God can help him choose now, because he
does not even know who is being honest, or who is
just with him for the money. Below is what he told
thebossnewspapers.
“I am not angry at the Nigerian Media when they
sometimes write what’s wrong, it’s like they are just
doing their job. They want to sell their papers.
I am not saying Mikel is anything but when people
see Mikel on the front pages of the papers, they go
and buy it and I think they are making quite a lot of
money from that.
“I love to speak with the press but I love it when
things are done properly, I love to speak to the press
but I am a busy person as well who has got schedules
as well, you can’t just come to me and say Mikel I
want to interview you, things are not done that way,
if things are done properly, I will respect people, I
will do interviews, but if things are not arranged
properly, can’t just meet me at the lobby of a hotel,
you meet me in the streets and say I want to speak
to you, it doesn’t work that way.
On picking a woman to marry, Mikel says;
‘’I know, normal people don’t go through what I am
going through now when it concerns finding a woman
to marry, normal people don’t at all. Believe me it’s
so so difficult, very difficult, it’s so so difficult you
just have to leave it to God. To find someone who
truly loves you, there might be someone who really
loves me truly for who I am but I may not be aware
but maybe you don’t know but you may think she’s
one of those people that loves you for who you are
or what you have, because of your money, but maybe
she’s there for you, you never know, you get so
confused, now I have decided I will just leave it to
God to decide who I get married to’’.

Romance / Re: As A Nigerian Man, Can You Do This?? by Anamachi3(m): 9:46pm On Nov 20, 2015 |
Well the truth has to be said no matter hw bitter it may sound. If one ev entually marries a lady who hasn't got any cooking skills, it will be a wise idea to help her to learn how to cook and also marriage is about partnership. A husband can still train his wife to cook if he knows how to cook and the wife will be glad to learn how to do so and she will enventually become a pro. But am begging ladies not to distance themselves from kitchen when they are still@home,they should try to learn how to cook delicious meals from their Mother becoz it will be useful in their marital home. But it pains me to see dat some ladies will prefer to see telemundo movies while there mum is at the kitchen or their elder sister is cooking at the kitchen, that is not really good. That's my humble submission |

Sports / FIFA 2018 WC: No Player Is Guaranteed A Shirt, Says Oliseh by Anamachi3(m): 6:59am On Nov 20, 2015 |
Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh said that no
player in his team is guaranteed a place as Nigeria
continue in their quest to qualify for the 2018
FIFA World Cup.
Oliseh, was speaking against the backdrop of heart
warming performance put up by Sunshine Stars’
Paul Onobi in place of John Obi Mikel in their
second leg tie of the qualifiers against Swaziland
on Tuesday in Port Harcourt.
“What I feel about Onobi is that he’s a home star.
“I said it from the onset that I don’t care of you
play at home or abroad.
“If you are good enough and you can adapt to the
tactics that we play, we will do it.
“I am glad that the whole world has witnessed a
vindication of that policy that I will always adhere
to.
“He’s solid. He’s strong on the man (tackle). He’s
solid. He’s clairvoyant and one thing I like about
him is that he’s very hungry.
“And that’s what we need now.
“However, I must use this medium to state that
Onobi did not play at the expense of (Mikel).
“Nobody has a fixed spot in this team,” he said.

Nairaland / General / Governors Crys Out- We Cannot Pay 18,000 Minimum Wage by Anamachi3(m): 9:58pm On Nov 19, 2015 |

By Levinus Nwabughiogu
ABUJA – Thirty-six States Governors have said that
they can no longer pay the N18,000 minimum
wage to workers owing to the poor state of the
economy.
Rising from a crucial meeting on that ended at the
early hours of Thursday at the Old Banquet Hall of
the Presidential Villa, Abuja under the umbrella of
Nigerian Governors Forum, NGF, the governors
said that the dwindling prices of oil had drastically
affected their States’ income.
Specifically, they said that the burden of the wage
was lighter when oil sold at $126 as against the
current $41 per barrel.
They therefore sought to have audience with
President Muhammadu Buhari on the economy,
resolving that the only way out of the quagmire
was to diversify the economy to agriculture and
mining.
Reading the communique issued at the end of the
meeting, the Chairman of the Forum and governor
of Zamfara state, Abdulaziz Yari hinted that the
Forum also backed the Nigerian Communications
Commission (NCC) over the N2.1trillion sanction
on MTN.
According to him, the governors agreed that the
fine must be paid in full.
He said that they received briefing from the
Acting Executive Chairman/Chief Executive Officer
of NCC, Professor Umar Dambata who explained
the matter to them.
He said: “We resolved that we must look at ways to
enhance revenue generation and at the same time
look at ways to cut our overhead costs more
especially the political office holders’ salaries and
other overhead expenses.
“The situation is no longer the same when we
were asked to pay N18,000 minimum wage, when
oil price was $126 (per barrel) and continued
paying N18,000 minimum wage when the oil is
$41 and the source of government expenditure is
from oil, and we have not seen prospects in the oil
industry in the near future.
“We will diversify our economy in the area of
agriculture and mining. But at the same time, we
should understand our situation where some of us
(states) today are taking N100million take home
(monthly allocation) and then have salaries in
particular of over N2billion to pay.
“We therefore agreed here to take this suggestion
to NEC in our meeting tomorrow (Thursday) so
that we can be able to find ways to tackle this
problem.
“And we are looking at coming together to
discussing with Mr. President and his team, with
governors, technocrats and experts in the
economy to see how we can tackle our troubled
situation. We are working harder to deal with it.
“Hence the MTN has accepted that they committed
the offense and has apologised, and they are
looking for leniency, we the governors forum
decided to support the NCC to abide by the laws of
the land and the laws of our land do not not give
leniency to deliberate offense to our nation.”
Yari also revealed that the forum also received a
presentation from the National Agency for Science
and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) which will
help in boosting mechanised agriculture and
improve small and medium businesses especially
in the rural communities. |

Nairaland / General / OMG! What I Witnessed On An ATM Section Of Union Bank. by Anamachi3(m): 10:59pm On Nov 16, 2015 |
Some dudes are so funny, We were on a queue @ ATM section on Union Bank this morning. Before me was a plumpy-looking lady, as she was approaching the ATM machine, one sharp guy started to discuss with her and this guy comes after me in d queue while the lady was before me. What baffled us all @ the queue was that this particular guy immediately gave the lady in question his own ATM and said that he had never done that to anyone but because he just saw her and liked her and trusted her. All broke to laughter, he was even bold enough, d next thing was that he whispered to d lady his ATM pin and told her to withdraw for him more than 15,000 The lady withdrew the money and also did her own transactions after which he gave the guy d money. All started laughing, when I was through with mine I later saw both of them branched to an eatery. I was dumbfounded, I asked my self- Is this Love@first sight or what? For those that said am lying, pls pardon coz I am not, I well knw that ATM can't pay such. Thanks to u guys for your observation cc: lalasticlala |
