DECISION TO TRAVEL

In December 2017, my brother got his PR and this inspired my hubby and I to embark on this beautiful journey. He showed us his COPR/VISA to clear our doubt that this express entry is damn real. No time to waste as everybody don dey japa….and the state of this nation wasn’t encouraging . I don’t want my children to face all these naija wahala, the future looks scary. I had been privileged to have lived abroad before and I know how the systems works over there. So we rolled up our sleeves and started this Canada journey in 2018.

ECA (WES)

We registered for WES before they started asking for waec arround June 2018. I used etx to process my transcript, but those guys really disappointed me , story for another day. Until a friend introduced his contact person who assisted me to process my MBA transcript & verification despite ASUU strike. My spouse wes was smooth as a result of UK degree , the process was faster than mine.

IELTS
The fear of IELTS is the beginning of wisdom . I thank God for his mercy, my first & only attempt November 2018 LRWS- 8.58.578. Yayyyy oya jo soapy !!. I was so delighted with my results seeing how people are retaking the exam and the cost implications. I fear o!
However, hubby didn’t have to write IELTS because our CRS score was high enough to get us ITA.

MEDICALS:

I started calling Qlife for upfront medical December 2018, I was able to get 2 slots in February and May 2019. We later choose the February date for our upfront medical , everything went well for family of 4. The following month I got a call from Qlife if we still wanted to use the May date, I told them to give it out to another family.

PCC
We used ASP Moshood a very fine officer indeed. Spent like an hour for the whole process and we paid 10k ( 5k each for hubby and I) .

WORK REFERENCE:

My manager who is my direct supervisor gave me my job reference letter on a plain sheet in CIC format , he signed the letter and I went to notarize it. Meanwhile, the day I went to collect the letter my manager was asking me to explain how this Canada express entry works, I just smiled and we gisted about the process small. Oga sef won Japa from naija….hmmmm!

POF:

100% GIFT deed from my dad , he transferred the money into my account and I bought TBILLS for 181 days and printed a month bank statement joined.

POST AOR
I got two ADR for schedule A and Passport renewal. I called CIC after 3 months was told criminality and medical pass , VO Ottawa while others not started . Hmmmm, the wait no be small thing we prayed , fasted and sometimes got angry with myself as if something was wrong with our application. Lool, if man can see tomorrow ehn , I for no put myself on so much worry. We ordered GCMS note everything looked good , except a note file packed due to review required on client information.
Longggggg silence from CIC for 4 months , no ghost update . I just left everything to God and move on with my life. I got another ADR in October for passport renewal and submitted on time. First ghost update on November 1st .

The ultimate golden mail came in on November 5th , dated November 4th. My good people it’s has ended in praise for us AOR to PPR 6 months and 1 week . Even when I wasn't asked?....haha....that one is over-syllabus. The guy basically asked one question "what food did you declare?" Please how should I have answered the question?

You did not inform the CBP at POE that you were going to birth in the US?

No, he did not ask.

Hello NL, here's my story So far...

I got a B1/B2 visa in 2015, was asked if I was pregnant then, responded no. used it sometime in 2016. became preggy after the trip so we started planning on coming here to deliver.

Got most of my info from NL, gathered all my documents...doctor's correspondence, appointment letter, change of intent letter and their generic response, bank statement, medical records, fit to fly and cash.

Booked VA to New York, 6 hours to Heathrow, 2 hours stop over, 7 hours to JFK. The flight was a comfortable one although entertainment wasn't impressive.

Landed at JFK at about past 11pm. My POE story is almost non-existent, except for the fact that the place was crowded like Oshodi and I had to queue for almost 2 hours, just because I declared food! But we know that God works in mysterious ways...
Meanwhile I had brought out my envelope of properly arranged and labelled burden of proof.

CBP: Hello
Me: Hello....I handed over my passport
CBP: Oh I can see youre holding something, *points at my envelope*....
Me: Yes, my documents. *he didn't ask to see it*
CBP: I can see you have the declaration card, May I see it?
Me: I didn't know it was meant to be filled so I just used the self-service machine.
CBP: what food did you declare?
Me: Nuts and herbs.
CBP: ok....*says nothing else, stamps my passport(6 months) and said bye*
Me: thank you very much!
I went straight for my bags!

It was a good thing that I went prepared but I'm elated I didn't have to go through any 'rigourous' interrogation.

Many thanks to everyone who has contributed on this platform.

My missionary journey contines and it will surely end in praise.
