Politics / Nigerian Army Killed 348 Shi’a: Report by angeljc(m): 5:24pm On Aug 01, 2016
Lagos - Nigeria's army killed 349 people from the minority Shi’a Muslim sect last December in a series of clashes for which troops involved should be prosecuted, a judicial inquiry has concluded in a report.
How the authorities respond to the inquiry's findings may indicate the extent to which reform is being implemented under a drive by President Muhammadu Buhari, a former military ruler, to root out human rights violations by soldiers.

The United States blocked arms sales to Nigeria and ended training of troops there under Buhari's predecessor Goodluck Jonathan, partly on concerns over human rights such as the treatment of captured suspected insurgents.

Crime / Fleeing B’haram Relocating To Border Areas –MNJTF by angeljc(m): 2:29am On Aug 01, 2016
SOME Boko Haram disguising as civilians have fled to remote communities in the border areas following their dislodgment from Damasak, Borno’s northern town and recapturing of the town by the military troops.

Spokesman for the regional military force; Multi- National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Col Muhammad Dole said the force bombardment and eventual liberation of Damasak, a Boko Haram stronghold, last Thursday had compelled the insurgents to flee to communities around the Lake Chad. He said the terrorists also disguised as displaced civilians to take refuge at the border area.

“Sequel to the capture and subsequent occupation of Damasak town and surrounding villages by Sector 4, MNJTF, the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole (Nigeria) have successfhttp://mp3musicfree2.xyz/2016/08/01/fleeing-bharam-relocating-border-areas-mnjtf/ully linked up and are currently consolidating their defences in the cleared town and stabilising the general area.

“Despite this high valued achievement, remnants of Boko Haram terrorists fleeing the general area of operation are said to be relocating to remote settlements along the borders of the MNJTF member countries, mostly disguising as normal civilians,” Dole said in a statement yesterday from the force operational base in neighbouring Niger Republic.

Politics / Oyo To Restructure 105,000 Workforce, Says Ajimobi by angeljc(m): 1:45am On Aug 01, 2016
Oyo State is to restructure its 105,000 workforce and will not retrench as being speculated, Governor Abiola Ajimobi said yesterday.

Ajimobi, who clarified this in Ibadan, said restructuring of the workforce was aimed at enhancing its productivity.

He put the workforce at 105,000, saying many workers were unproductive.

Ajimobi said the restructuring would place each worker where he or she would be more productive.

“You know we have three types of workers. We have workers, who have the expertise and are ready to work. We have those without expertise, but are ready to learn and work. We also have those who don’t have the expertise and are not ready to work or learn.
“We want to ensure that every worker has something doing and doing well for government to justify his or her salary. Today, we need to drive our revenue to be self-sufficient,” he said.

He said restructuring was also reason for the government to strengthen its educational system, because development is knowledge-based.

On their first night of performances, the top fourteen contestants performed without the fear of being on probation and the Judges forgave whatever imperfections some of their performances carried. However, the same will not be said of today’s show as four contestants who were not impressive enough landed on probation.

The evening saw the contestants serenading the audience with some of the finest songs from the R n B and soul genre. Some of the performances had the crowd cheering and applauding the contestants endlessly, while some even left the Judges speechless in admiration, but not all the contestants achieved these.
