whitebeard:my dear what you are saying makes no sense. Salvation is a personal race so comparing him to other people who do bad things doesn't make his action right or doesn't justify it. No man is a above sin, pope or pastor and God's mercy is not far from him. All he needs to do is to ask for forgiveness and it is done, but you can't and shouldn't compare him to Evans or corrupt politicians. He is a doctor and a teacher, these are special callings and to whom much is given, much is expected. |
Religion / Deeper Life Pastor In Serious Scandal by Animosityiskey: 8:59pm On Jul 23, 2017 |
Dr Olutayo James a deeper life pastor, who is also a consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon in LUTH and the Faculty of Dentistry, UNILAG, and the Sub-dean of the faculty has been implicated in a serious scandal. Recently, pictures and videos of the very deliapited dental school in LUTH surfaced the internet and the site was very gory. Dr Olutayo James has been fished out to be one of the contributors of this decay in the school. They usually hold meetings with the students and tell them to lie to the regulatory officials (MDCN) to tell them that there are no problems in the clinic. On the 19th of May 2017, he had a meeting with the students in the laboratory on the last floor of the dental building. In his(Dr olutayo James)own words he said : "the MDCN will be coming for inspection and they want to see students, I want as many of you to show up on the day they will come. Tell them that you don't have any problem, if you tell them that you do not have water or electricity, they will collect the accreditation and you won't graduate, I have my liscence already, I'm doing this because of you.(students )" they were forced to lie for fear of victimization by the lecturers even though all isn't well. At the end of the day about 55 the students were not able to do their clinic work because of lack of facilities and this same man that called for this ungodly meeting insists that all the 55 students do not write examinations and should therefore repeat the year. "it's just unfortunate how these young children are suffering", a member of staff said putting Christians in positions of authority has not changed anything as they are usually brain washed by others. He could have allowed these children at least write the exams since he knows there are no facilities. he just stained their conscience for nothing" she lamented it's not about having the lisence to practice, it's about having the fear of God and standing out to say the truth. if money had not be provided by the government to fund the school activities, the meeting that held on that day shouldn't have held!

kindly follow @that_Samaritan on twitter! tweet using the harsh tag #saveourfuturedentists lets create awareness for this...lets not keep suffering and smiling! One needle ,6 patients!! this is so sad...if Nigeria isn't ready to train dentists please let them close down this place and let's "import" dentists! |
Education / Re: Yawa Don Gas For Luth!! by Animosityiskey: 12:04pm On Jul 19, 2017 |
my take on this is simple; training of dentists is very expensive everywhere in the world! And Nigeria as a whole is not ready to train dentists! the school authorities are claiming that they training standard dentists meanwhile the facilities are not there to train the students. how can doing 2 extractions be the standard? even at that, the hospital isn't able to provide facilities for all the students to do 2 extractions? the students repeating are not getting anything out of it! the system remains the same! if the school can't manage with the facilities they have to train all the students, they should shut down the school! there is no need of making people's children to suffer and make them repeat! |

Over 60 students are now to repeat a session in the school for not meeting up the requirements to sit exams. Part of which is to make procedures. To make procedures in this deplorable learning conditions is an herculean task. Students pay patients' bills so they can meet up. On order to meet up, the students do a lot of unethical things. A student once told me that he had to use a single syringe for 6 patients. Yes!,6 patients!. They pay for all these materials( ideally, they shouldn't) yet they aren't provided by the Authorities. Nothing is working in LUTH. 'I call my patients on phone, go to their houses to drag them down to the clinic, buy them food sometimes because they are not encouraged to come to LUTH due to bad facilities. But I must treat at least 25 to qualify for exams', a medical student said almost crying. 'Even if we spend 15 years in this College, we can't meet up with the standard practice. We have done so many unimaginable things just to pass exams. This school is training criminals not doctors', a student protested. Whenever it is time for the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) officials to come inspect the School, the Management hold meetings with the students, asking them to lie to the inspectors that 'all is well'. Some of these officials are also bribed not to report what they see during inspection. Please watch, comment, share and lend a voice to save Public Education from Corruption and High-handedness of Authorities. Viva Aluta! newafricanman:your number 7 point amazes me.."new chairs and other equipment were fitted in few years ago, and many people grapple under the same challenges" 1st of all...if you are a dentist, you don't work In LUTH because the chairs that my sisters and i sat on when we came to the clinic were definitely not fitted few years ago. if it were it must have been brought in as "tokunbo" 2nd hand. and no form of maintance has been done on it...lol. The chair is just a piece of furniture. its function is to differentiate the clinic from an animal house. "many people grapple under the same conditions". Mr New African man please change your name to "obsolete African man" because your mentality does not indicate that of a new African. how can grappling under poor working conditions like water and electricity be an achievement? is this the level Nigeria has gotten to? where we take pride In suffering for our right? Aye mi ooo instead of looking for how to make things right we are taking pride in struggling for the basics of life. it's a pity! I'm very sure that if other students who made the proceedures had to grapple for the basics, then they are definitely not getting the right training. 1 Like |

newafricanman:wow...somebody said standards!! congratulations to the Dean...This is your standards and the standard of the college. The only incompetence I see is that of alumni and professors seeing infrastructural decay and turning a blind eye to it. and if anybody should kill anybody, the blood of that person will be on the heads of the people who we are congratulating for "upholding standards". I'm pretty sure you didn't learn under such derogatory conditions so why put your future colleagues through this? as humans our journey on earth will definitely come to an end, what will you have imparted on this people? even the guys that did the proceedures are you confident of their ability outside? with what im seeing, definitely not. Encourage this students to graduate because the college of medicine UNILAG lacks the very basics to train people and let them go and seek advanced knowledge else where..in this situation if you keep them there till the 2nd coming of Jesus, they cant learn anything. Mr Do good, you and your colleagues should rally round and look for funds to revamp your infrastructure, since you are so concerned. and congratulations once again to the members of your team who are "upholding the college standards" I'm very sure the provost of your college has a trophy for y'all! 1 Like |

This is a section of the dental school that they are shouting about ooooo This is the place that they want people to stay in for one year. This place isn't fit for animals to be attended to Look at the dirt in the cupboards MDCN please come and save the Nigerian population!!! my question is that even of they stay in school for one year extra...what can they possibly do? limited facilities, dirty environment and poor patient inflow with limited staff also. The clinic is under equipped and the students in there are more than the facilities can ever take, about 160 clinical students. The plan by the school authorities is to prevent some people from graduating so that there will still be students who have to bring in their patients thereby generating money for the clinic. This is a terrible viscous cycle MDCN please come and save LUTH before they pack hepatitis and put in people's mouth. Who knows if the instruments are sterile? be careful of where you go to open your mouth for check up. The people in charge fail to realise that there is a thin line between being healthy and being a patient. so this is the place they want to keep students all because of proceedures? it is a shame because even the students that did the procedures clearly don't know what they did.. they'll be rearing animals lowkey and say they are training people to be good dentists

The authorities don't want to do anything..they believe it will not affect them. The school over admits students, then prevents over half of them from writing exams because they didn't meet their patient target. The Dean insists that it is a school rule when you don't make your patient target you should not be allowed to write exams forgetting that the school rule was made when the structures were still intact. will anybody want to be treated in this kind of place? so where will the patients come from students to learn. these people on charge of running the place are simply dirty and wicked people! |
Education / The World's Dirtiest Dental School/clinc by Animosityiskey: 8:53pm On Jun 28, 2017 |
This is the world's dirtiest dental clinic/school. The dental section of the Lagos University Teaching hospital (LUTH). Very dirty sight to behold. This is a place where people who have problems with their mouth go in to be checked. This is also the place where they train students to become licensed dentists. The general public should beware because you'll go to these kind of places and get the infection you didn't come with. The regulatory bodies MDCN, MDCAN and NDA should come and intervene and stop collecting bribe from the people in charge, because you people know that you'll never be attended to in this clinic. No human being deserves to be treated or trained in such a place! I wonder what these students are learning!
