One Daniel Sunday who said he was allegedly brutalized by one Chief Lawrence Okuru at Nembe waterfront, Bonny Jetty at Old Porthacourt township, Rivers State has called for justice.

In an interview with our reporter, Mr. Sunday said “what Happened on 8th September,2022 around 9pm when I was going to waterside to carry my wood to give customers, Chief Okuru met me at Nembe water front, Bonny Jetty that I should pay ‘matching’ ground. I told him to give me sometime that I will pay .He said no, that he wants to collect the ‘matching’ ground money now

“As I was walking he hit me on the ground and brutalized me, I did not know myself until later when I knew myself I was in the hospital .

“They asked me, I explained to Borokiri Police Station what happened .Nobody took action until today. That is why I am calling on the Police to arrest the man. My 2.5million naira also got missing in the process”.

The Rivers State Police command  through credible intelligence has rescued fifteen children abducted from different parts of the state and kept in a suspected fake orphanage home suited at Aluu in Obio/Akpor LGA of the state

The Commissioner of Police in Rivers state CP Eboka Friday Briefing newsmen said on  3rd September  2022, Operation restore peace personnel of the Command, acting on credible information regarding hideout of child traffickers, stormed Omuigwe Abuja Phase II, Aluu, in  Ikwerre Local Government Area, where a lady who claimed to be Rev. Sister Maureen Wechinwu aged 44yrs was arrested. CP Eboka disclosed that fifteen children were rescued and  case transferred to CP Monitoring Unit for discrete investigation.

CP Eboka said one of the children Master Prosper revealed that he was abducted at Ikpazasia market in Bayelsa State on 31/10/2020, together with two others whom he do not know their whereabouts and was taken to the suspects. Rights group calls for thorough investigation

One Binla who said she is 17 year old and resident of Rivers State has alleged that a Police Officer known as Salihu Kazeem with his boys stripped her and her friend naked took video of their nude and raped them after accusing them of stealing his 500,000 naira.

In an interview with Journalists, Binla said "it was on March this year, I was discussing with my friend about Job that, I am looking for a Job, she told me that she is going to visit her friend that I should come with her, that may be I can talk to the man he will be able to help me. So when I saw the man I talk with him, He asked me my age, I told him, I am 17 year old.
He told me that since I am 17 year old there are some jobs that I cannot do. That he will see what he can do and get back to me.

"After then, he asked us if will have eaten, we said no, he gave us his ATM card that we should go and get anything we want to eat, we went and bought food and came back with the ATM card and gave him his ATM card.

"So he started claiming after we gave him his ATM card that he has many debt alert in his phone, we asked him the amount he refused to tell us. Some commercial sex workers has deserted some brothels at Azikiwe street Mile 2 Diobu Porthacourt following the arrest of some suspects in one of the brothels in the street where Police on Saturday 6 August,2022 rescued some underaged girls forced into prostitution.

The Rivers State Police command on Wednesday morning arrested about four alleged Policemen at Cedar Wood estate off SARS road, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area who are into business of land grabbing and collecting illegal levy from land developers in the area

Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command have arrested a total of six (7) notorious criminal suspects terroring Port Harcourt & environs in offenses of armed robbery, and organized crime of vehicles snatching from owners who are mainly BOLT/UBER drivers. One (1) revolver pistol, two vehicles, amongst others, were recovered from the suspects in different operations.

Notable among the cases is the arrest of one Saviour Gbarale ‘m’ aged 24yrs and Onyedikachi Uhala ‘m’ aged 18 yrs, at No 12 Etche Street Borikiri, Port Harcourt City Local Government Area by operatives of C4i Intelligence Unit of the Command. The suspects specialize in house breaking and have been linked to series of recent armed robbery in the Port Harcourt metropolis and environs. Investigations also revealed that the suspects also rape and sexually abuse a pregnant woman in the cause of their nefarious operations.

The Rivers state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and its affiliate union on Tuesday embarked on a two-day  warning protest , to register its displeasure over the lingering ASUU strike and other issues affecting the country .

The protest which took off from the 10 Igbokwe Street about 9: 30 in the morning saw workers marched through fruits Garden to Okija Streets, , then to Ikwerre road and terminated at government house on Azikiwe road. where various union Leaders expressed displeasure over the lingering ASUU Strike and other national issue boldly written on the  placards with different inscriptions.

Report says terrorists operating in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja are getting emboldened by the day as they ambushed men of the Guards Brigade.

Sources confirmed that the troops of the elite Guards Brigade, whose primary responsibility is guarding the FCT especially the Presidential seat of government, were ambushed along Bwari-Kubwa road.
