Politics / Re: LASTMA Official Dies Chasing After A Vehicle by AnotherOkija: 11:48am On Jul 19, 2012
ypzilanti:

The man was a foot soldier, doing his job as he was trained to do it.

Its not his fault that the government has no data base.

LASTMA with all it's flaws is an agency that Lagos State cannot do without, and many of them are proffessional and dedicated in carrying out their duties.

Imagine if na only 'yellow fever' dey conduct traffic for lagos state.

Please remember that a man just died working to feed his family. No allegation of bribe taking has been alleged here.

The man is a foot soldier.. However, what he was doing was more about selfishness than it was about doing his work.. I can bet my bottom dollar that when he jumped that vehicle, he was more intyerested in the bribe he would extort from the driver than he was in getting the driver to obey the traffic laws..

Its not his fault that the government has no Data base, however, its not the governments fault that he stood in front of a vehicle.. I can bet you thats not in his scope of work..

LASTMA is an agency that Lagos cannot do without and I absolutely agree with you, but however, it dosent negate the fact that LASTMA is only there because the Traffic unit of the Nigerian Police and the FRSC which are a better and more professionally trained outfit, have both neglected their duties hence the use of untrained touts to molest drivers..

The man died working, however he died foolishly and inasmuchas no allegation of bribery has been indicated, all drivers who have experinced the molestation of LASTMA know that its a case of Guilty until proven innocent..

Okija_juju is not igbo. He only pretends to be, but I can smell him from here. He is a fake.

@POST, if rochas performs, he would get the votes to rule Nigeria. Wether detractors like it or not. It is a case of the corrupt and the incorruptible.

I am not Igbo, I agree.. I am a Pharisee..

But that not withstanding, Rochas will never rule this country.. Not even if we decide to do the presidency state by state..

The list of more credible individuals ahead of him are just too darn much..

If rochas performs... Like you said 'IF'.. And I know he wouldnt.. Anyways.. No point debating this, Rochas will never rule this country..

Mr Everest: I dont give a damn which ever hell hole he escaped from, he can hide under that fettish psydonim 2 vituperate gibberish, but honest Nigerians like you n me can see his good deeds, that irresponsible dude adds credence 2 d statement dat people deserve the kind of gov they have!

EXACTLY.. Imo State deserves the kind of government they get.. If Rochas is the best thing to happen to Imo State since Mbakwe, then your state must be the nesting ground of Charlatans.. Just because yourself and Ebere hold similar views, you have tagged yourselves responsible.. I laugh if Ohafia..

Esss asked you a question, what has Rochas done for your state so far... List them..

I'm not a fan of jail breaking!! All my shit is legit!

I have a jail broken Itouch though and its not fun!!

Since I found the app to download straight off the internet to my Ipad without a PC, I am fine. Now I can get my 4shared songs on my Ipad direct.. And I didnt jailbreak it!

afam4eva: My guy, it's better you come back. There's a whole lot you can do with that money in Naija. So many business opportunities waiting to be tapped.

I couldnt agree more.. Target a City like Ekiti State.. Buy like two Pickups for 1.5 million.. Employ some Ekiti State boys, go to their GRA and offer to come 3 times a week to carry and dispose of their trash for a fee.. You dont even have to touch the bin.. Just have your boys do it. EKITI is a poor state so they work for less than minimum wage.. Just one idea..

I want to believe that the reason is because the apps suited for the Ipad are rather small in size... Its hard to find a 500mb app.. so it would take you forever to fill an Ipad with 64gig worth of apps or even 64 gig worth of songs purchased from Itunes...

cold:

Lol,are you done ranting or you just getting warmed up?'All he did was build a church' you say?Did you miss the part where he kept piling debts upon debts that he had no plans of servicing? In any event, why build a church? What purpose was that meant to serve? So we can have more senseless & directionless people,to add to the already out of control list of the mentally enslaved. Why not refurbish a school,a hospital or something more meaningful.
I reiterate, good riddance to bad rubbish. It's nothing personal Mr Okija

Dude!!

I think Church goers are delusional fhucktards just like those diaper head muslims up North.. But thats there s'hit so I let it be. I can criticize but not hate.. The Nigga piled debts but to say he had no 'PLANS' of repaying would be an unfair statement as the article did not state that nor alluded anything like that.. Building a Church might have had an underlying motive of currying favor but lets not forget that the Church would belong to the common people of Otuoke.. If every person offered such publicly beneficial bribes, I think Nigeria would start to take a fine shape.. Maybe the next contractor would do same.. Also, most of these public facilities require alot of bottlenecks to overcome in order to touch them... I remember this one guy whose wife was saved by a Health center (as she delivered there on her way to the hospital)... To show ggratitude, he decided to build a new wing that would be better furnished and all worth not.. Guess what?! The local Government said he should give them the money that its their job to do such..

Please dont hate on a dead man... He came, he Hustled and now he has moved on...

Travel / Re: What Motivates Diasporans To Relocate Back To Nigeria? by AnotherOkija: 1:48am On Jun 17, 2012
Because it only dawns on them after spending time abroad that the grass isn't actually greener..

I am one of those who made that bold decision to return after spending 1 year in Canada (as a permanent resident).. I applied to all the big companies and they kept turning me down for one useless reason or the other. The county then employed me to carry dustbins.. Then I got another job as a construction site cleaner.. Omo life wasn't easy and that wasnt what I bargained for when I took up the offer to live abroad..

Then I saw a medical doctor that was flipping burgers at a mac donald, saw my friend who worked in an oil company that still had to work in a bank on his off days to meet payments on his credit card bills.. OMO!! I immediately realised that I just left a gold mine to come pick scrap metals..

The taxes back home are not as insane as it is abroad.

I booked my flight and returned home to a better life jor. We may not have steady electricity, but I have an inverter and a big generator and can afford diesel.. I may not have government water, but I have a borehole.. The roads may be ridded with potholes, but thats why I drive a brand new car so it lasts longer, the security may be bad, but thats why I also have a dog, a single barrel remington shotgun (registered).. and I have a job that pays for al my bills and leaves me enough to save..

I do not know this Otedola fellow but let me just state this, if he is so open about this, he is as clean as a butterfly..

Its very sad what the Reps are trying to do. The whole subsidy report should have been thrown into the bin. Putting Otedola back on the list and asking the EFCC to investigate them is absolute rubbish and reeks of vengeance.

What the Reps should have done was suspend Farouk and hand him over to the Police for investigation and subsequent prosecution and set up a new panel of inquiry into the subsidy probe. Another could have also been set-up to determine how many oil marketers apart from Otedola paid bribes..

All the members on the Subsidy probe panel should have been suspended alongside Farouk.. Like Otedola said, a tree no fit form forrest...

Otedola is a business man that has somehow managed to survive the murky waters of doing business in Nigeria... If you think that a group of half literate, crooked senators would outsmart him, then you underestimate what it takes to become a billionaire in Nigeria and the world over.. Fools dont last that long at the top..

The House of Reps have indeed shown that they are a band of thieves.. Its a surprise that not one of them thought of throwing out the entire 210page report.. Its a surprise that they cant collectively think past Otedola to see that their must be others who paid this bribe without video taping it..

Kudos Mr. Otedola... I hope you win the Billion and that this saga exposes more crooks in the assembly..

She doesn't look old... And even if she did, whats the big deal.. Its a natural process of life.. I'd rather have a pretty wrinkled wife than an Ugly sweet 16.. You are yet to make a point that I can reason with on any level... My fiancee isnt the finest, pretiest, sexiest woman in the world, but I have never felt prouder in my life like when I have her beside me in any gathering.. Men stop and stare... In the sack shes amazing, in the kitchen she is unrivaled, intellectually she is sound, spiritually she is balanced and domestically... Her mama raised her right!! wendytilda: It’s interesting someone mentioned that majority of the people living in Imo-State are civil servants. Though I don’t know that this is completely true , what I do know is that my mum is a civil servant and Rochas refuses to pay their salaries of last month. Saying that the salary of the month before is a loan, and should therefore be refunded before they get another loan (salary). Also he’s obligating civil servants to go back to their villages and farm. Just like that. Not that he created some farm projects for them to work on, even if he did, why not employ jobless youths scattered around the state instead of disrupting people’s lives? I just can’t wrap my mind around this!

Thats what you get when you vote for a fat ugly father christmas and his 50,000 Liters Gongoro of a wife (who should be at a farm trying to lose weight).

DONCHUKS: Let us not take a look at this issue sentimentaly, even though Rochas Okorocha is doing all this for political reasons, i still have to give him the kudos because his legacy will ever live on in the life of the less preveleged and the middle class. I pray that God will reward him with long life & overflowing grace, Amen.

Kanu Heart foundation has been saving poor diseased children for years.. I dont hear anyone signing his praises.. Atleast in his case, I know he made money from playing football, endorsement deals and genuine ventures..

Rochas is a philanthropist whose magnanimity is all geared towards scoring cheap political points. Problem is people are not seeing him as a crook. He is part of the people who stole our money in this country. He has no known business ventures yet splashes money everywhere. I am not impressed at all. He shoud focus on the business of governing and stop all these his father christmas and TV shenanigans.
