The Kogi State Capital, Lokoja has reportedly made a list of the fastest growing cities according to a report by the world recognized Canadian firm, Visual Capitalist. Visual Capitalist is one of the most recognized online publishers globally, focused on topics including markets, technology, energy and the global economy.
According to the report released by the organization on August 13th 2021, the inclusion of Kogi on the list is attributed to the increasing foreign direct investments of the state, agricultural exploration, young population and rising workforce.
Kogi state was also awarded number one in FDI by the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission in 2020,after generating over a billion dollar worth of foreign investments in the year 2020.
2023: Nigerians In Diaspora Endorse Yahaya Bello, Open Campaign Office In Germany
Ahead of 2023, group of Nigerians in foreign countries under the aegis of Nigerians in Diaspora Network whose membership cut across Europe and America have opened a campaign office in Germany in support of the presidential ambition of Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello.
Speaking during the world press conference organised by the group in Germany, the spokesperson for the group, Engr Odijie Irabor, noted that the country needed a leader with charisma, character, and quality that will unite the nation across ethnic and religious lines.
At the campaign head office in Oberhausen, Germany, the president of the group mentioned that the governor of Kogi State has shown the needed qualities to lead the country from 2023 moving forward and therefore calling on all Nigerian citizens home and abroad to join hands in birthing a new Nigeria that will guarantee the needed security and economic growth
He said the position of the governor in the aspect of fighting insecurity, youth and women inclusion in governance; education development and others caught international attention, hence, the endorsement.

Bayelsa blogger apologises to Kogi over fake N7b isolation centre’s report
A blogger based in Bayelsa State, Saint Mienpamo Onitsha, has apologised to the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, following his report alleging that he intended to spend N7bn on the Kogi Isolation Centre for COVID-19, which was destroyed by a rainstorm.
The report published in May 2020 on his blog, www.naijalivetv.com, generated controversies, led to his arrest and arraignment at the Federal High Court.
But Onitsha, in a statement on Tuesday, admitted that the publication was false and begged the governor and the state government to forgive him.
He said: “I hereby render an unreserved apology over a publication, which I posted on my website, www.naijalivetv.com on May 2, 2020, entitled, ‘it will cost us N7 billion naira to build and equip the Kogi Isolation Centre for Covid-19 which rain destroyed, says Yahaya Bello’.
“I further express my deepest regret for the post and publication which was false and I regret my action for any embarrassment it may have caused you and your administration. I am sincerely sorry and kindly find a place in your heart to forgive me”.
Army General Commends Gov. Yahaya Bello for Brutally Fighting Crime in Nigeria
The Nigerian Army has commended the Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Yahaya Bello for his efforts in fighting crime and insecurity in the nation.
Msj. Gen. MG Ali, Commander of Special Forces Battalion of the Nigerian Army made this known yesterday during a session.
In his remarks, "I must appreciate the contributions of the vibrant young Governor of Kogi state, who detests crime and have always been rendering helping hands to nip crime not only in his state, but across the country at large".
The Army General also said, "I doff my hat for Governor Yahaya Bello for the support the Special Forces have been receiving from him", saying "If all Governors could emulate him in terms of providing strategic information, I think the peace we have been yearning for will soon be close to us".
The Governor of Kogi state have been notable for his support to the Nigerian Army and security agencies within Kogi state and across the country.
He has donated funds, vehicles and other forms of support to the military, drastically reducing crime in the state to clinch second most secured state in the country.
Governor Yahaya Bello has continued to make Kogites and Nigerians proud especially with his giant strides in fighting insecurity, zero tolerance for negotiations with criminals, networking and approach to Intelligent information, and most remarkably his on-ground presence in crime zones.
Massive Jubilations as Kogi Workers Receive Salaries before Christmas
Following Gov. Yahaya Bello's order, Kogi state civil servants have started receiving their December salaries since 22nd of the month.
Over the past one year, Gov. Yahaya Bello has topped list of Governors who have been consistently paying salaries to her civil servants.
Recall that the Yahaya Bello's administration initially inherited a 4months salary debt from the previous Government, but within some months as Governor, he started massive staff verification and today, the story is different. He has also paid all outstanding salaries to Kogi workers owed by the previous administration.
Yahaya Bello of Kogi state have been paying full salaries to all state workers and they usually receive salaries before 24th of every month.
One of the state workers, Mrs Alami Sunday told our correspondent that Yahaya Bello has impressed her a lot with the current salary structure and prompt payment. She said " I'm grateful for what we are experiencing in Kogi today. In the previous Governments, it used to be percentage salaries, but today, Yahaya Bello has changed our story".
Another state worker, Boniface Achimugu also said that the prompt payment of salaries will make the festivities interesting for his family.
Gradually, the state civil service reforms by Gov. Yahaya Bello has gained massive commendations from Kogites and Nigerians, especially the automated system introduced.
Kogi state civil servants have long taken to banks to receive their payments ahead of the Christmas and new year celebrations.
