Imagine being denied fellowship into a Saudi University.Suspecting the university authorities surmising that as a Nigerian one is interested in having a slice of their Oil money.Nice to see how other countries jealously guard their resources from outsiders, concentrating on their welfare and wellbeing of their citizenry.Imagine waiting at a bus stop in Saudi and seeing a refrigerator stacked full of soft drinks just for free refreshments.Any family fortunate to own land situated on oil deposits automatically becomes multimillionaire as land and their resources belong to individuals not government as the case in Nigeria.Which has interesting outcomes like Funsho Alakidja with no oil well in her community having concessions to the tune of billions of naira in joint venture agreements due to political connections. Saudi Arabia boasts that even if Oil stops flowing now, They have enough money to last them comfortably for the next 50 years.Notwithstanding their investments in Foriegn assets in developed countries like France,England, USA.They own major football clubs in France-PGS as well as England.
Meanwhile, The government gives excuse of drop in oil revenues as if significant developments occurred when Oil was as high as 120 dollars to a Barrel. Why didnt we make significant savings and investments then.In summary, let's take a cue from the Middle East.Though I have a feeling it's getting a bit late for that. Just Surmising.

I am fully in support of the means people here have carried in order to pressurise the PTDF people to either publish the list or give us a feedback on why they haven't done so and when they will be doing so.

On my part, I have tried all means available to reach a family friend who ranks high in the hierarchy of the PTDF in order to ask him about when to expect the list, but it has been to no avail. He was the one who informed me about the test date which I communicated to the house in June. The silence from the PTDF is actually worrying.

We all have our various plans to undertake, but all these plans revolve around the outcome of the scholarship. For my part, I have a graduate fellowship in the U.A.E which I'm wary of accepting, all because my eyes are set on PTDF. Given that the school resumes in late August, I have upto the end of next week to make a decision, or else I lose the fellowship. I prefer PTDF because the benefits are better. And I believe a lot of us here are in the same dilemma.

The key thing to do now is for us to legitimately demand for the publication of the list. I'll continue trying to reach that person at PTDF. If I am able to reach him & get any vital information, I'll duly share it here. If I'm not, then I hope our mails wakes PTDF from their slumber to give us a response, hopefully a positive one.

For now, all I can say is best of wishes to us fellow compatriots.

Do you know if article publications especially international publications count in favour of a PhD Scholarship candidate during the interview stage.
Also is there any negative connotation attached to single authored articles as opposed to multiple co-authored articles by the ptdf interview panelist in their scoring process.Thank you
