The battery is fully charged to 100%.

Live Review of Itel S15 Pro - On August 25, 2019, itel Mobile launched its latest Selfie series smartphones S15 and S15 Pro. The two devices are powered by a waterdrop display and a powerful 16MP selfie camera and Android 9 OS.

The two devices suffered market activation here in Nigeria as the Itel S15 was made available in the market on September 5, 2019, with a retail price tagged of N23,400 while the Itel S15 Pro was just made available in the market with a retail price tagged of N29,500.

The Itel S15 Pro has been my daily driver since I unboxed it on September 24, 2019. So i will be putting the Itel S15 Pro on a LIVE test and my LIVE review will focus on the battery performance, software, camera, and hardware just like I did in my previous LIVE reviews featuring itel S13, P32, P33 Plus, S33.

For this test, I will set the automatic brightness and I configured one email box in a push. I will also use several social apps including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. During the day, there will also be duration tests for playing games, watching movies and others.

About Itel S15 Pro

The Itel S15 Pro sports a 6.1” HD+ IPS Waterdrop FullScreen Display with a 720*1560 resolution. The water-drop at the top houses the 16MP selfie camera with 4in1 Big pixel and a flashlight which is within the top thin tiny bezels. The device also has a plastic unibody and a stylish Lapland Aurora design. At the back of the phone, we have a triple rear camera setup.

Under its hood, the device is powered by Octa-core 1.6GHz SC98634 processor paired with 2GB RAM and a 32GB storage capacity which is expandable up to 128GB via the micro SD card slot. It also boots the latest Android 9 Pie.

The Itel S-series are known for selfie-focused and here on the Itel S15 Pro, we have a powerful 16MP front-facing camera with LED flashlight. At the back of the phone, the phone has three cameras featuring 8MP + 5MP + 5MP with LED Flash which combines together to deliver a powerful final photo output.

The phone has Fingerprint and Face unlock security features with other connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.2 and WIFI. The Itel S15 Pro uses dual Nano-SIMs. In terms of juice, it has a 3000mAh non-removable lithium-ion battery which should offer a decent uptime amount.

The much-anticipated device, Itel S15 Pro has been launched into the Nigerian market with a priced tag of N29,500. The S15 Pro was launched alongside the S15 which is the normal variant. Both devices are the latest addition to the Itel S-series.

The Itel-Series are known for selfie-focused and here we can see a bigger upgrade from the company as they have successfully unleashed both devices with a 16MP selfie camera with 4in1 Big pixel front selfie camera with a waterdrop display.

So in this post, I shall be sharing with you my unboxing and quick hands-on review of the Itel S15 Pro.

The Box
The box of the Itel S15 Pro is just like the regular boxes we are used to but here again. On the top, we have the name of the device written alongside a 4G logo telling you that the device support 4G.

Alongside that, we have the images of what the device looks like and few specs written on it too on the front side of the box while on the other side of the box, we have some highlight specifications of the phone written on it and the free 1.5GB 9Mobile data activation guide on it.





But here I noticed that the box actually comes in two, the first one is just like a dummy box while the other box is the one that houses the phone. So it is required of you to remove the first box to get you to the main box.



But what’s inside the Box?

To unbox the box, you have to, first of all, unwrap the box and cut out the sealed. Now open the box, you will be greeted with the 6.088-inch IPS Waterdrop Fullscreen itel S15 Pro appears on top and after then, you will see its other accessories inside the box, which are:

– 1 USB Cable

– 1 phone case

– 1 Adapter charger

– A pair of earphones

–1 removable 3000mAh Li-Ion battery









Quick Hands-On Review

One of the things I noticed here in the device is the big display and the water drop feature. Yes, the Itel S15 Pro is the first of its kind to come with a waterdrop display and it also packed a 6.088 inches HD+ IPS FullScreen. The device still has bezel both on the top of the device and the bottom. The screen resolution is 1560×720 which can handle Full HD movie movies well.




I really loved the User Interface of the device. Clean and the apps are nicely arranged. It preloaded with Google apps and some other social media apps. The device runs on Android 9 Pie.



Under the hood, it has Spreadtrum 9863A Octa-core 1.6GHz alongside whopping 2GB of RAM that can handle multi-tasking so well. I tested it out and it and the result were just like I wanted. Someone can now log to Twitter, Instagram, play games and don’t worry about the device lagging or hanging. The internal storage is 32GB and Interestingly, it can be expanded to 128GB via using a micro card. This is just so mind-blowing.





At the top of the waterdrop display, we have the 16MP front-facing camera which is one of the selling points of the device. The camera can be used to unlock your phone when you activate the Face ID. The camera is quite amazing. It gives brighter selfie in low light, in my review article I shall be sharing pictures taken with the device in low light.

On the top of the device, we have the 3.5mm headphone jack and beneath the phone, we have the micro USB port and guided with a dual loudspeaker.




On the right side of the device, we have the power button and the volume rocker when nothing is on the other side of the device.



On the rear side, we have the 8MP Triple camera with Flashlight then accomplished with Finger Print scanner. This is the first device from Itel coming with a triple camera. I tested the camera out and its shots are amazing.



The phone supports dual Nano-SIM and both SIM support 4G. The 4G Bands supported by the device are B1, B3, B7 and B20 which are the bands used by major network provider here in Nigerian but does not support Glo 4G bands at the moment.



The phone also supports OTG connection that gives you access to connect your external devices like Flash drive, fans and other devices to your phone.

The whole device is powered by 3000mAh battery capacity which the company says can give you full day usage. Well, I will prescribe that you get a standby power like a power bank to give you more power usage.

Itel Mobile was kind enough to have sent a unit of the Itel S13 a week ago for a deep feature highlights overlook. So, in this article, I shall be unboxing the device, Itel S13 and also dropped my first impression.

The box which housed the Itel S13 and its accessories look so much like the other latest released from Itel Mobile. If not looked closely, someone might mistake it for another smartphone, especially the Itel P32.

As usual, the device also comes with mouth-watering data offers which can be found on the left side of the box. The data offer gives you FREE 1.5GB of data and 150% double data for the period of 6months from 9mobile.

But what’s inside the Box?
To open the box, you have to pull the top upwards to reveal its contents and once that is done, you will be greeted with another small red box and opening this small box, you will be greeted with the Itel S13 and after then, you will see its other accessories inside the box, which are:


– 1 USB Cable

– 1 phone case

– 1 Adapter charger

– A pair of earphones

–1 removable 2400mAh Li-Ion battery

And as usual, the device comes in three colors – Champagne Gold, Midnight Black, and Bordeaux Red). Here with me is the Champagne Gold looking breathtaking.

Quick Review & First Impression

When I held the Itel S13 for the first time, the Itel P32 comes to my mind because they look much alike. The screen, cameras, fingerprint, and speaker are in the same position. Well, a quick review of the Itel S13 revealed that comes with a 5.5-Inch IPS 18:9 Full-screen display and screen resolution of 480 x 960 px and has 16M color.


On the top of the screen, we have a 13MP front-facing camera with LED flash and speaker.


At the top of the device, we have the 3.5mm headphone jack and at the bottom. At the bottom of the device, we have the microphone and MicroUSB port.



On the right side of the device, we have the power button and the volume rocker.


Flipping to the back, we have a dual 5MP rear cameras and LED flash. Underneath, we have the Fingerprint, which is positioned at the appropriate position.


A brief look at the software and the performance of the device also revealed that the smartphone is powered by a Quad-core 1.3GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, running on Android 8.1 (Go Edition), all backed on a 24000mAh battery.


The mobile OS will smoothen the phone’s usage to give a fast experience to the user. The pre-installed apps; Google Go, YouTube Go, Google Maps Go, Gmail Go which has smaller app size, consume less space, as well as consuming fewer data will play a big role to optimize the performance of the phone.



I also observed that the devices packed a sleek body which measures 8.mm and a plastic build finish with curved corners.

The back cover is removable and so is the battery therein. The dual SIM slots are hidden in there, as is the microSD card slot for expandable memory.

With all these features and specifications, the Itel S13 goes for the economic price of N23,800 and is available both online stores and offline stores nationwide.
