When a poor man hears about debt, they run helter-skelter and even go to the extreme to avoid one of the world's basic secrets to prosperity... The rich view debt as a very strong financial instrument to accumulate wealth as they know everything the bank claims to have as cash reserve is nothing but figures and are only propped up by the gullible ones who think saving money is the right way to accumulate wealth... When you save money, you barely make any reasonable interest on it rather the bank invest your money in well-calculated high-risk debt funds and other financial instruments, make interest on your money but share little to no profit with you, that's why savings interest rate are always the lowest in the history of financial appropriations When money is borrowed for the right reasons under reasonable repayment structures and invested in capital expenditures, servicing such debt becomes less of a burden as the project under every reasonable circumstance will have a service life that far exceeds human life.. Mr Jandor either knows the truth but playing to the gallery to appeal to the emotions of the uninformed or he is not well informed financially..... 26 Likes 3 Shares |

Nigerians and conspiracy theories....No one bothers to think outside the box but what ever silly or lazy narrative that suits their ideology is pushed to the fore and when lies are allowed free hand for so long, they start sounding like the truth..... Who was Funsho Williams's business associates? If he was killed as a result of political issues, his wife won't want to be nominated in his place.... Politics / Re: Fuel Subsidy: NAIRAXI To Digitize Public Transport To Mitigate Adverse Effects by Arelyn: 8:59am On Oct 15, 2022 |
When I see the implementation of technologies like this in Nigeria, I am always happy and at the same time concerned about an average Nigerian exploiting these systems. One easy way to digitise payment is via an NFC-enabled contactless payment system which has been around since 1995, the fact that almost everyone nowadays has an NFC chipset embedded in their smartphone makes it a simple technology to implement, but you see our dubious nature will always prevent banks and other financial institutions to deploy these on debit and credit cards and also deprive our nation from future emerging fintech systems in the future... There are a whole lot of financial technologies that our nature as a group of people will prevent us from benefiting from. These technologies can make us an almost cashless society and help us fight our perpetual increasing inflation rate but you see, our overly "hustling" nature won't allow companies to bring this to our domain This is a step in the right direction from NAIRAXI... 9 Likes 1 Share |

I love the Quoran's effort in trying to paper over the crack but haven led a good number of Digital forensics investigations as a Cybersecurity expert, I can boldly say "Nigeria is the scam capital of the World"... There is no large-scale scam syndicate in the world that won't have a single Nigerian at the top tier of their structure..... I was opportune to work on the Kinahan group case and as small as Ireland is both in terms of size and population, the group have a huge flow of cash transactions made possible by over 100 Nigerians working with them either as foot soldiers or signal module managers...The largest representation is from the over 1000 people that were indicted. They are quite smart that it took a combination of resources from Ireland, the UK, the US and Switzerland to get to the root of their deals In all fairness, we represent the biggest and largest scammers colony per capita in the world and that's not anecdotal experience it is statistically correct You may feel bad reading this but " fact don't care about how you feel".... My anecdotal experience is that often you won't know but if the mood around her intimates sexual arousal, you may see her blush; this is easy to see in light-complexioned girls while the ones that get wets heavily may request to use the bathroom. Truth be told, only a few ladies will behave like a guy when they are aroused, the majority of them will still carefully select who they lay with and only a sizeable number amongst them are randy and won't mind especially if there is an instant gratification be it money, quest to satisfy the immediate urge, fame, power, vengeance, fun etc 4 Likes |

I have tried as much as possible to be neutral and access each presidential candidate based on previous performance while in power and their current wit in managing the numerous issues that confront us as a nation but I am not only disappointed but shocked to share the same country with some people. I guess it's Prof. Wole Soyinka that first said the level of intelligence across the length and breadth of the country is a concern for the future... For a group of people to believe that the president of the most populous black Nation in the world was Dead and was replaced by a Sudanese Double baffles me and the way they won't give room for any modicum of knowledge or logic while debating important issues is a slap on the body of Education that produced every one of us... We need to do something with this intellectual decadence that is roaming across the Nation, let's put Logic above emotions first in all our dealings 2 Likes |

Do not be deceived, we ( not only Nigerian, the black race in general) are behind in the best metrics used to measure progressive races in the world... When I was doing my transition programmes into IT, I was the only black person in the class, two-thirds were Indian, a couple of Vietnamese guys and the rest were whites It was a very intensive programme, I was proud to say I held my own among the ranks but to give credence to where it belongs, those Indian guys are beast of logical and analytical thinkers and anyone that knows one or two things about coding knows that's all you need to be a good programmer... In all fairness, they are dominantly well represented in major fields of the world and they are a force to reckon with any sector you find them but the Naija spirit lives on..... Travel / Re: Mixed Reaction Trail FG's Choice Of Ethiopian Airlines As National Carrier by Arelyn: 11:14am On Sep 23, 2022 |
We are not so intelligent a group of people which is obvious in the way we express our folly thinking emotion overrules logic on matters..... If you don't understand or can't comprehend a matter, just move to the one you understand there is no shame in it..... The simple explanation is that Nigeria wants to set up a National Carrier in a 5: 49: 46 per cent ( it is a well-documented fact that National airlines run by Governments are financial potholes) so they want it to be an almost privately owned investment, so they invited tenders from the public and only Ethiopian airlines ( which is the biggest airline in Africa run as a 100% private entity) showed interest. In FG's wisdom, they don't want Ethiopian Airlines the full control of the " proposed Nigerian Airline" hence they sought out private investors to bring 95% of the investment fund while they control 5%, which is a sensible deal in as much as it will be an odd number of investors.... This is the crust of the matter..... Now let the "mention" begin and let's see how far people are to logic and how close people are to emotion |

My heart has been broken many times and I have broken people's hearts too such is the irony of a dating life and from those situations in life I have learned and unlearned ideologies that have moulded me into a good man...You don't need to take my word for it as you don't know me. I live in the part of the world where more often than not men are judged or even incarcerated in tandem to report from female folks. A society where you are judged irrespective of the truth but on the quality of the accusation legal team... This is not a battle of who is right or wrong but you can bear me witness, women most times will enjoy sympathy or empathy over any situation compared to men, this is not to portray women as weaker vessels but it's like an instant obligation placed on the society to protect this gender. Over time, the very bad of this gender have learned how to manipulate these obligations in their favour with all sorts of emotional appeals I will stop here for now!!! |

I don't mean to discredit his legitimacy to contest for the presidency but listening to him from afar depicts a man who I thought is transitioning us from the materialistic old-fashioned campaign strategies to an issue-based campaign but from the moment I devoted some time to follow up on his antecedents and live interviews, I realised he is a proper Nigerian politician and a one-trick pony at best He has become highly predictable in his speeches that it's very easy to liken him to those students who memorise irrelevant vocabularies to impress people with lower mental capacity than them. There is no sense in quoting figures that a basic google search will prove wrong, you can go away with that in a beer parlour argument but not when you are contesting for the presidency of a country. 8 Likes |

Must everything be politics to Nigerians?.... I know people working in two of the radio stations, they are being owed more than 14 months' salary and you expect NBC not to revoke their license... A radio station that can't pay the salaries of its staff, how will that station be able to renew licenses. Rechargeam247: I know this question will pop up, but if those agitations were genuinely for the emancipation of the Niger Delta people, why have we not seen any improvement in the standard of living of an average Niger Deltan...What you fail to recognise is that rebels only use the frustration of the common man as a reason for their agitation whereas in the real sense, the leaders of those groups are only after their very own pockets and that is common in the history of insurgency against any nation in the world... I have attached a link to the activities of major rebel groups in the world and their transformation over time for you to understand my point and most especially read about the Sudan Liberation Movement of Abdelwahid El Nur (SLM-Nur), who has a similar objective as the MEND group... https://www.researchgate.net/publication/281323629_What_explains_former_rebel_party_name_changes_after_a_civil_conflict_ends_External_and_internal_factors_and_the_transition_to_political_competition |

Most people wonder where the genesis of insecurity in this country started and students of history will say the "moment rebels from a particular region were rewarded with an amnesty program by Presidents Musa Yar'adua and Goodluck Ebele Johnathan" was when the Federal Government lost control of the security rudder of this country. We have seen how a certain Northern Cleric; Sheikh Ahmed Guni has been soliciting for Amnesty openly, the same way leaders of the South-South region; the likes of Chief Edwin Clark openly championed the course of amnesty for the different groups with the MEND movement. The reward for those movements is cash disbursement in exchange for pipeline security, a well-crafted siphoning of money into the hands of a selected group of people who have not in any way created any worthwhile infrastructure in their region upon the amount granted to them so far but thankfully we don't hear of pipeline bombing or kidnapping of expatriate again. Having said this, I wonder why people complain about Guni, his foot warlords and their actions without seeing what the end goals of their movement are. I am very sure, the social vices of these groups will be reduced if not stopped, the moment a full-blown amnesty is declared for them. Insecurity from the South East is gradually rearing its ugly head and from all indications, there will need to be an amnesty to be declared at some point which most likely will start with a Presidential pardon for the movers and shakers of the movement. Disbursement cajoled in the form of security contracts like this will continue and if care is not taken, there may be rebel groups formations in other regions of the country but I am almost certain that the South West will probably be the last due to their liberal approach to issues; I guess that's why they were regarded as cowards... 13 Likes |

Dr Kemi Olunloyo suffers from psychotic grandiosity which is one of the symptoms of Schizophrenia which explains why she often thinks outside the box and won't follow the bandwagon perspective of an issue... Listening to her with an unbiased prejudice, you will hear an intelligent, coherent and educated personality with bits of self-exaltation mixed with financial adjuration that slightly derails her off topic but always gets herself back on track as soon as possible. She gives a different ideology and provides conspiratorial reasoning to those who care and she is more than ready to say the truth than any other Nigerian journalist out there. Lagos is head and shoulders above every other state in this country; my state included. You can argue it's because it was formerly the Federal seat of power but let's be truthful to ourselves, the kind of political leaders and administration that have Governed Lagos since the inception of democracy are more progressive than any other state in Nigeria. It is glaring to see that each administration in Lagos always outperforms the previous administration which suggests there is a Grandmaster plan drafted somewhere that guides their modus operandi. Lagos is truly a centre of excellence that is so synonymous with the progress that it's now more of a cultural thing to leave your state to make it in Lagos and our Nollywood movie Industry is full of tales of individuals relocating to Lagos to "make it". Though not everyone will follow this route to success a large number of us will be forever grateful to the architects of modern-day Lagos. I had my breakthrough in Lagos, started as a conductor up to "HERE" in a FAANG company working in a team of 13 outstanding professionals who paid fortunes for their education while I enjoyed the most subsidized quality Federal Government of Nigeria education from the University of Lagos. I guess this premise will enjoy a good quantitative exploration to suggest reasons why Lagos remains the undisputed financial, social, and Entertainment capital of Nigeria...
