REVIEW THE RESUMPTION OF SCHOOLS
Cc: FG.

(FUTURE EAGLES DISMAYED)

It would have been bearable if "freedom of speech" wasn't included in human right for the student have a little or no voice today;
we're said to be the leaders of tommorrow but today the hopes of the students are all dismayed,we're said to have gotten the best opportunity to transform the world but today the strength and pillar have turned to be the dents.
It was crystal clear that education that holds more water isn't one of the interest and focus of our country today.
The generation today are being determine by the highest trending;
*we finds it difficult to sponsor the academic system(e.g cowbell competition) but of how little it is to fund and sponsor "BBNAIJA" audition.
*We finds it so difficult to play a role in resumption of schools but of much easier it is to plan for elections and make the affairs moving smoothly yet the leaders of tomorrow beckons on the shoulder of the student(youths).
*Is of good aim not to expose the students towards the virus but more comfortable to open interstate travels, markets, places of worships, hotels, airports and hosting campaign events yet we are adviced to stay safe and keeps social distancing.
Is high time students are left with strong believe that "Education is never in agenda of youth empowerment in our great country".
The youths are tagged to be "LAZY" yet we have little hope of where education will take us to,today students are grant opportunities to engage themselves in criminal act and being fraudsters as a result of being idle.
Are we developing the country?
Is Education really essential in the country?
Is Education inclusive in agenda of our great nation?.
If the answer to the above questions is "YES", then we have no reasons to withdraw the resumption of school!!

God bless Africa!!
God bless Nigeria!!
God bless Nigerian students!!
Long live our government!!

SOUTH-AFRICAS XENOPHOBIC ATTACK TO NIGERIANS

I join the voices of the 201.8 Million Citizens of Nigeria to condemn without
unnecessary retrospect the killings of the good citizens of Nigeria
residing at South Africa.
These show distinctly that We, Africans have lost our Consciousness and
Instinct of Unity and Oneness as Africans and the Pan-African Movement,
an initiative fostered to create a sense of Brotherhood and Collaboration
amongst people of African descent.
The same Peace and Unity upheld by our African Giants, likes of Nelson
Mandela and Kofi Annan all of Late Memories shouldn’t start now to
sunder away.
I call once more on Constituted Authorities to take charge of this Disaster
till all aggrieved Segments are settled.
At this moment, I Condole and Mourn with the Families of Victims that lost
their lives during this ungodly outbreak and I as well encourage every
Nigerian to promote Peace and Unity wherever we are or we happen to
find ourselves in, for that’s one of the Essence of Good Living.

To the people of South Africa

To the people of Nigeria
“Another should not occur again”

GOD BLESS AFRICA AS A CONTINENT!!!

Education / Ibekwe Arinze On Life After School by Arinze3600: 8:44am On Jul 11, 2019
LIFE AFTER SCHOOL
What are your plans after school?
Almost every finalist has been asked this question in one way or the other .So, unfortunate only a few have an answer or rather a reasonable answer to such questions. The transition from being an undergraduate to becoming a graduate is kinder funny and unimaginable to most students. The thought of being solely independent and taking up most of the responsibilities of your wellbeing or in severe cases your family. No more frequent pocket money from Daddy and Mummy, Uncles and Aunts, even Brothers and Sisters….is something we all have to deal with. It is a period when every decision you make counts and is very vital to your future because approximately everybody now looks up to you. After spending four, five to six years in school studying a course or the other, the question remains, what impact was made? What did you achieve?
To many, those years were years of reformation, to others, they were years of purposeful discoveries, while some see the years as wasted years borne out of frustration or disappointments, No Thanks to the education system in our country, Nigeria, So far we have a poor orientations and external tutelage on career choice and prospect .many fall victim to this circumstances, thereby masking their future with uncertainty.
What’s next after graduation?
The truth is that many students don’t have plans for life after school because they were either carried away by activities of their studies (their field of discipline) or didn’t just bother to plan ahead thinking that every plan made initially will definitely fall in place. Most students mindset is to graduate, go for NYSC,get a good lucrative job and live a happy life, but there’s certainly more to life .
Unfortunately our generations are victims of swindling and unstable economic quagmire, with countable job opportunities and cases of insecurity and many other challenges the country is facing. It’s no longer news that to survive in an economy like Nigeria’s, one has to be independent not waiting or depending on the government to come to your aid. Its only one without “SKILL” that cries out “NO JOB”. To this effect several questions comes up to reflect on, What skills do you have? What’s your Passion? What do you have to offer? If you have concrete answers to these questions, then HOPE stand to inhabit.
John F. Kennedy the 35th President of the United States of America Once said; “Ask not of what your country can do for you, Ask of what you can do for your country”. After graduation, it will be a time to account for the long term academic investment and exhibit results of a successful education you have passed through from Primary-to-Secondary-to-Tertiary Institution and finally a graduate. It requires we think deep on the next positive move; be different, be innovative, be creative, be industrious and be versatile. Surely you will be able to sail through the storming sea at the labor market.
Perhaps, you never had concrete plans while in school, the Nation Youth Service Corps (NYSC) should be seen as a blessing in disguise because it should be a period where you selflessly serve your country and as well sit to plan your life ahead of the future within a year. It fully transits you from life as a student to life as a graduate. The government on their part should ensure a conducive environment while it is our duty to create opportunities.
In conclusion, the transition from the university to the society and the rest of one’s life is enormous. If there have been no plans created and no ideas generated before graduation happens what looms around in the future can be devastating, discouraging and overwhelming. Academics are very vital but in looking to the future, what Skills in addition to academics are going to be critical for independence, happiness, success after school?

Nairaland / General / Ibekwe Arinze On The Principle Of Separation Of Power by Arinze3600: 8:33am On Jul 11, 2019
THE PRINCIPLE OF SEPARATION OF POWER
First of all, what is SEPARATION OF POWER?
According to Wikipedia,
Separation of powers is a model for the governance of a state. Under this model, a state’s government is divided into branches, each with separate and independent powers and areas of responsibility so that the powers of one branch are not in conflict with the powers associated with the other branches.
That principle was fathered by Montesquieu, a Frenchman, in the mid eighteenth century. According to Montesquieu, the executive, the legislative and judicial functions of government should be performed by different bodies. He did not notice that there could be overlapping or fusion of powers between the three main arms of government .Montesquieu based his argument on what he thought obtained in Britain. There, he thought, civil liberty was based on separation of powers.
In Brain, Montesquieu thought he saw the independence of the judges guaranteed by Act of Settlement of 1701.The two houses of Parliament enjoyed an authority independent of the executive with the Monarchy also enjoyed independent executive authority. The Conclusion was then that there existed complete separation of powers in Britain.
Merits or Advantages of separation of powers
If there is no separation of powers, there will be confusion and occasional misunderstanding between the arm of government as to which does what. Separation of power prevents unnecessary scramble or struggle for powers by the arms of government .It ensures that too many powers or functions are not concentrated on one organ of government.
Weaknesses of separation of powers
If there is absolute or too much separation, an arm that abuses its power cannot to be checked. Absolute separation does not allow people from different arms to learn from one another. Separation of powers may mean more people in governance and that may also mean high cost governing.
DIVISION OF POWER OR FUNCTIONS
Power or Functions are distributed among the central (federal) government and other units in a federation .The unit could be states, regions et cetera, as the case may be.
The Executive list: This shows areas in which only the central (federal) government can operate/legislate and in many countries, they include: arms and ammunition, census, citizenship, currency, deportation, prisons, export duties, external affairs, et cetera.
Concurrent list: This shows matters in which both the Centre and units can function. The idea is to enable the federal government intervene and help. For example, in Nigeria, the Federal government started paying primary school teachers, a matter that belonged to the Local Government. Such type of intervention by the Federal Government can be if the unit requests or without any such request and probable areas are; electricity generation, education, agriculture, et cetera. But one thing should be clear. If there is a clash between federal and state laws, federal law usually prevails.
Residual list: This refers to matter that crop up after the constitution has been prepared or matters that have not been taken care of in the constitution. Such matters are neither in the exclusive nor in the concurrent list. The states, most often, handle them.
In conclusion, ’’TRIAS POLITICA’’ or ‘’SEPARATION OF POWER’’ is necessary because the system divides the task of the state into three branches: Legislative, Executive and Judicial. These tasks are assigned to different institutions in such a way that each of them can check the others. As a result, no one institution can become as powerful in a democracy as to destroy this system. History has time and again shown that unlimited power in the hands of one person or group in most cases means that others are suppressed or their powers curtailed. The separation of powers in a democracy is to prevent abuse of power and to safeguard freedom for all.

Nairaland / General / A Note On Realism Redefined Ibekwe Arinze 2019 by Arinze3600: 8:24am On Jul 11, 2019
Style is the invariable mark of any master; and for the student who does not aspire so high as to be numbered amongst giants, it is still the one quality in which he may improve himself at will. Passion, Wisdom, the creative force, the Power of Mystery or color are allotted in the hour of birth, and can be neither learned nor simulated. But the just and dexterous use of what qualities we have, the proportion of one part to another and to the whole, the elision of the useless, the accentuation of the important, and the preservation of a uniform character from end-to-end these which-taken together constitute technical perfection, are to some degree within the reach of industry and intellectual courage ,What to put in and what to leave out; Whether some particular facts be organically necessary or purely ornamental, whether if it be purely ornamental, it may not weaken or observe the general design ,and finally whether if we decide to use it, we should do so grossly and notably or in some conventional disguise are questions of plastic style continually re-arising .And the sphinx that patrols the highway of executive art has no more unanswerable riddle to propound.
We talk of bad and good whilst occasionally overlooking the ugly. Everything ,indeed ,is good which is conceived with honesty and executed with communicative ardor .but though on neither side is dogmatism fitting, and though in every case the artist must decide for himself, and decide afresh and yet afresh for each succeeding work and new creation, yet one thing may be generally said, that we are of the last quarter of the twenty first century, breathing as we do the intellectual atmosphere of outrage , are more apt to err upon the side of realism that to sin in quest of the ideal. Upon that theory it may be well to watch and correct our own decision, always holding back the hand from the least appearance of irrelevant dexterity and resolutely. Fixed to begin no work that is not philosophical, Passionate, Dignified, Happily mirthful or at the last and least, romantic in design.
So as to be continued…………

Politics / Ibekwe Arinze On ASUU Strike by Arinze3600: 11:28am On Jan 06, 2019
ASUU—ACADEMIC STAFF UNIVERSITY UNION, NATION WIDE STRIKE EMBARKED ON 4TH, NOVEMBER 2018.
ASUU WILL RESUME NEGOTIATIONS WITH FG ON MONDAY, 7TH JAN, 2019,
ASUU STRIKE!!
An unprecedented trait to Nigerian Students that has within a short interval metamorphosis from DAYS to WEEKS and Sadly to MONTHS now.
During the course of this strike, ASUU has held Five(5) Meetings with FG on Dialogue & Negotiations of which in one of the meetings accommodate the EXECUTIVE OF NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA STUDENTS, NANS of which the opportunity was seized by the gallant executives to narrate how the strike has affected us and why it should be called off sooner.
I applaud the brave NANS EXECUTIVES led administration of Comr. Bamidele Akpan,
On their bold step towards participating in the bid to end the Seven (7) Weeks Academic Strike Action.
Below are the core reasons ASUU embarked on a Nation Wide Indefinite Strike Action ‚

• Collapse of the 2017/2018 Renegotiation of the 2009 FGN -ASUU AGREEMENT due to government's insistence on the introducing of exorbitant fees beyond the reach if Nigerians.
• Non Implementation of the component of the 2017 Memorandum of Action (MoA).
• Non release of over one trillion naira arrears of revitalization fund for public universities in Nigeria (2009-2017).
• Failure to mainstream the payment of earned academic allowances into the Annual Budget.
• Failure to pay arrears of shortfall in salaries in universities that have been verified under the Presidential Initiative on Continuous Auditing (PICA).
• Failure to release the operational license of the National Universities Pension Management Company (NupemCo) to present retirement problems.
• Poor funding of state universities, Non-implementation of the earned academic allowances ( EAA) and Non payment of arrears of consolidated university Academic Salary structure (CONSUASS) in various state universities.
ASUU UNION LEADER stated in one of the vital meetings, Two basic conditions that could make ASUU suspend the ongoing strike
1. Implementation of the 2017 agreement between both parties.
2. Disbandment of the federal government committee headed by Senior Lawyer Wale Babalakin.
The Negotiation was spare headed earlier by the Minister of Education, Mr. Adamu Adumu and was lately after much failed negotiation, adopted the experienced intellect of the Minister of Labour & Productivity, Sen. Chris Ngige.
Aminu Suleiman, Chairman of House of Representative Committee on Tertiary Education Service made a great note in one of the meetings held which I found important,
He said,
“There is need for both parties to go beyond resolving the current strike action and agree on lasting solutions that will make strike action in educational sector a thing of the past.
Yes, It is Possible, A THING OF THE PAST!!!
ASUU KEPT ON REPEATING THEIR SOLE REASON OF STRIKE ACTION
Noting that,
ASUU wants to rescue the educational sector from imminent collapse and to ensure that the children of the poor gets access to quality and affordable educational experience.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MY PATROTIC CONTRIBUTION ON THE EDUCATIONAL BUDGET ALLOCATION IS THAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHOULD SIGINIFICANTLY IMPROVE NATION'S EDUCATIONAL BUDGET AND FUNDING IN EDUCATION FOR RAPID SOCIO- ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.
Moreover, A SOCIETY THAT DOES NOT PLACE EDUCATION AT THE FORE FRONT CAN NEVER STAND THE TEST OF TIME.
