It’s Possible to get her a visa on arrival, cos I could remember In Nov 2019 when my fiancée came into Nigeria (From America to be precised) to visit me she came in through Visa On Arrival. But the Immigration officer who did that for me never wanted to do it cos of how boys do treat foreigners bad by exploiting them and carting away their properties and making them stranded when they get here... But a hood Immigration officer will do it for you base on trust.

To be on a safe side. I would suggest she gets the visa at the nigeria embassy in the US.

You should be concerned, not indicating you had a child and then she has your name on her passport? wouldn't she have had to show a marriage certificate or some other evidence to do that change of name?

Didnt know how she went about that. The deed is done already. Just trying to look for a solution now is what matters.

Hello gurus in the house. I really need help on this. I came to the US 2017 but before leaving i got my baby mama pregnant. When i got to the US. I fell in love with someone else and got married but never indicated i had a child (Personal reasons). I got my gc and i am a citizen already. Everything went by so quick. So i will say its grace. Now the issue is. Am separated with the woman i married and we re in the process of divorce which will be over soon. Feb 2021 i travelled to dubai for 2 weeks to meet up with my baby mama and my daughter. And now i want them to come over here. Can i still apply k1 & k2 visa for both of them. Considering the fact that my baby mama is her mom so she qualifies for k2 but she already has my surname in her passport. Am just confused if that doesnt pose a threat as to why she has my surname on her passport and i didnt declared i have a child through out my gc and citizenship process.

Nope. No hotel. But we were taken to a place where they served us food. Layover lasted from 10AM to around 9PM. I think hotel accommodation is for those who pass the night at Casablanca.

Ok.
Thanks

Port of Entry (POE) Experience

Good day, e-family. Greetings from Indiana. I left Naija on Friday at about 6:30AM, Nigerian time. Arrived Casablanca around 10AM. Layover lasted for 11hours. My connecting flight departed Morocco around 9PM and arrived JFK on Saturday at about 4AM, Nigerian time. I traveled with Royal Air Maroc. My journey was relatively smooth except for minor bouts of turbulence experienced from Casablanca to JFK.

On arrival, I headed to Customs and Border Control (CBP). We were to verify our visas with one machine like that, but it turned out the machine doesn't recognize F1 visas and a couple other visa types. So my verification had to be done manually by a CBP officer. The
queue for manual verification was longer than Mugabe's term in office. Had absolutely no problem waiting though.

Finally, it got to my turn. The CBP officer was a light-skinned man of South American extraction, presumably in his mid-thirties. I presented my passport (had my boarding passes inserted at the visa page), my I-20, and the declaration form given to me on the flight from Casablanca. He returned my boarding passes, verified my visa, took a brief glimpse at my I-20. I even forgot to sign my declaration form, so he gave me to sign it and collected it afterwards. Then he asked me to put the four fingers of my right hand on a biometric machine. After that, he took a snap shot of me and proceeded to stamp my passport. BAM!

There was no much exchange. He did not ask me any single question and he didn't even say "Welcome to the US". I sha carry my passport examined it and saw the stamp. It read, "ADMITTED". A smile of pure satisfaction spread on my lips. I bounced off happily to Baggage Claim.

The journey begins...

Were u offered hotel at casablanca by air maroc. Am also going tru JFK to Michigan by mid August.
That long layover nah die o o o o if hotel no dey.

I confirmed here at a branch in Ibadan...
@scoreall Also stated he confirmed from the UBA HQ in Marina 2 weeks ago that return ticket z not needed.
Like he said, Maybe u didn't explain yourself well to the staff.

gaviria:

What branch? Because I just left a UBA branch close to me and they said they only give PTA to students/anyone with a return ticket.
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by ark4sunshine(m): 3:14pm On Jul 06, 2017
Not all banks. UBA and access bank gives PTA to students with a one way ticket.

cmbagwu:
Banks don't give BTA and PTA unless you have a return ticket. Since yours is a student visa and a one way ticket.. you may have to look else where. You can meet with BTC to buy dollar from them.

Yes, i have really learnT Alot from this thread and it encouraged me to do everything by myself without using any agent.

I got my i20 and admission letter sent from the school to a friends address in newyork and he helped me to send it down here to Nigeria. I filled out my ds-160 and did all necessary things myself. Though my friend helped me to pay the sevis fee over there and I paid him the equivalent in Naira.

Note:
Age: 28
i finished high school 2005.
Finished OND 2009 (civil. Engineering)
BSC from KAMPALA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY UGANDA. (Information Technology) 2016

Was admitted to the CC in Michigan (computer science )

I just want others to learn from this regardless of whatever age they are and also the Most important thing is to be PRAYERFUL AND BE PREPARED.

At first i was denied at abuja and my Transcript goes thus.

VO: good morning
Me: good morning.
VO: why are you going to the us
Me: i am going to the US to study at ******cc so that i can have more technical expertise in my field which is going to help me after my course to be able to secure a good job back home here in Nigeria
VO: what is your highest qualification
Me: bsc in information technology from KIU uganda
VO: (cuts in) why are you going for an associate degree since u have bsc already.
Me: yes i am going for the degree because i really want to have more technical knowledge than what I have been thought. ( i knew i messed up there).
VO: are u trying to tell me you were not taught any practical during your years at school. AM SORRY YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO GET THIS VISA. hands over the blue paper and retured my things.

I left, not so disappointed and the only thoughts in my head was what to do next. I left abuja the following morning back to lagos and reapplied 2 days after. Had to pay the visa fees again but my sevis payment was still valid and i could still use it. I filled the form myself again and didnt change anything. Because i dont want to lie about anything so that this doesnt affect my application.
I booked an appointment for the following week in lagos 6:30 am.

Got to the embassy around 5:30am and waited till the whole process started. This time around i was feeling more confident and not nervous like the first time. When i got in i was the fifth on queue but i got scared and prayed in my mind that I want to be interviewed by the person that would definitely approved my visa. So i had to excuse myself to use the toilet and joined the queue from behind because i believe i was still a little bit shaky so i needed more time.

My transcript in lagos embassy goes thus.

Vo: good morning (with all smiles on her face)
Me: good morning

Vo: pass me your passport and i20 and asked why are you going to this school.
Me: i am going to *****cc because it is a school with a well structured curriculum which has a good student ratio and according to what i have heard about this school it is really a good school which definitely suits what i have been looking for.

Vo: did u apply to other schools.
Me: no i didnt

Vo: why
Me: this school was recommended to my mom by my uncle who has been in the us for over 10 years and more also 2 of his sons went to this school.

Vo: where does your uncle lives now.
Me: he lives in michigan but presently right now he is home here in nigeria.

Vo: what about his sons. Where are they presently.
Me: they are done with their prospective courses and they are back home, working in a good company and doing well. I still saw them 2 weeks ago and they reminded me of how good the school is.

Vo: who is funding your trip and expenses
Me: my mom.

Vo: what does she do.
Me: she is a retired principal laboratory scientist from one of the government hospital but now has her own pharmaceutical store she is managing.

Vo: what have u been doing since u finished high school.
Me: i have been working for my mom in her store and i also managed to get my bsc

Vo: what will this course do for you on completing it.
Me: its really going to help me gain more technical expertise in my field and more also the us is a big market where we have the best companies in the technical field like IBM, DELL, LINUX and also it is a place where all the best student in the whole world converges and share their knowledge with each other. So this is really going to help me have more international relations as well and i believe all this will really help me to get a good job back home here in nigeria.

Vo: what courses would you be taking
Me: java, c+, basic programming, linux

Vo: cuts in. Am approving your visa. Pick it up at the circled location in the next 3 bussiness days. Do not forget. You will need your i20 at your point of entry.
Me: thank you. Packed my things and left. Was not even interested in any other things she was saying anymore.

Was just smiling while walking out.
I was so happy, at least. No agent helped me.
I just want others to learn that with a cc you can still get a visa even though the chances are very slim. But the main key point is just to be prayerful and let the Almighty God lead you.

Have been a silent follower on nairaland for a long time and i must say that it has really helped me in getting my F1 visa approval last month. I am glad to be on a thread like this. My question goes thus:

(1) i will be resuming school mid august at a CC in Michigan and i plan leaving probably the first week of august, i checked for flights going to MI is a bit expensive so i got a 1-way ticket on Royal Air Maroc to JFK and would be taking a bus from NY to MI via Greyhound. I hope this doesnt bring any redflag at the POE or do i need yo fly direct to MI and what are the likely questions one could be asked at the Point of entry. NOTE: I got a 1-way ticket because its a 2years course and ticket would have lapsed by the time am completing the course.

(2) can i get my PTA from Gtbank or any bank now during this month of May or wait till around July to get it. Just thinking bank might not want to sell out till its time for me to leave.

To all gurus in the house.
Your suggestions and advice is needed.

First of all you must check with the embassy if it's alright to get a One(1) way ticket to U.S and whatever they say will be what you will have to do.. although you can still reach them and let them know if you can get a one way ticket and give a reason.
Most bank will give you PTA a week or 2 before your intended trip.

@seyewest. I confirmed about the ticket already. Thanks a lot.

1. As a student on a 2 year course. Getting a one way ticket is normal. The CBP will only be interested in confirming your admission and maybe school fees payment.

2. If you have all the necessary document go ahead and apply for your PTA now.

@ekpotek. Thanks for this information.
