Hello House, I did my biometrics since the 14th of June 2022 and I checked the status of my application today and it still says "Application Received By DMC". I put my travel date for the end of August but I need my passport to apply for another visa for a work trip. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Did biometric on 18th May in Ikeja, Got refusal on 7th July, so confirming that post on if you did biometric earlier with no response yet then most likely you have good news coming.

Professionals please what is your counsel on this refusal, provided dorm account statement with about $5k and stated in cover letter that the dorm account is my savings. Access statement & payslips showed other allowance i get aside salary but it appears the ECO didnt take time to assess application

This is just sheer refusal without any reason.very unfair. THey just don’t want u to come to the UK as the first country from ur fatherland. It’s a critical time applying to the U.K. just for tourism at this time. Why not an open day instead.


Look for an open day letter from University of Hull, Leeds, Glasgow Caledonian or any other and apply for that ......(next open day is in September and October)....rather than visiting Just for tourism. I believe getting a conditional offer from the University as part of ur document is apt too

Depends on your income and travel budget. Everyone's case is different according to their situation. You might choose to sort the below differently.

1.Accomodation (UK Host or Hotel)
2. Flight (Direct or Stop in between)
3. Feeding+Funding Expenses while in the UK

Make sure your travel budget is much less than 2month disposable income because of Disposable Income ECO's if you don't have good travel history to convince in addition.

Good day

Am assuming ur the alone going on the trip?

The embassy not only looks at ur account balance in ur statements but also ur inflows and outflows. So u will need to study ur bank statement to know the averages across board. Any lump sums should have an explanation. Ur salary inflow (if ur employed) should be regular monthly remittance. If ur self employed, the inflows need to explained by way of the nature of such transactions.

As for ur 2M adequacy question, let's check it out

£1100 is about 825k which it seems is for accomodation and some shopping. U didn't input money for ur return flight wch ranges from 350-500K. Give or take ur spending between 1.2-1.4M which about 70% of ur 2M leaving u with 30% of ur total balance which won't sight right with the VO.

As a rule of thumb, make sure ur total money to be spent on ur travel (flight, hotel, shopping etc) is less than 40% of the sum available on ur bank balance. The lesser percentage the better.

I work with a bank and am surprised this was raised, my salary was changed sometimes last year but I didn't include the letter used to advise me in my application and pay slip in my application. Kindly advise because I want to send administrative review. For those that have send administrative review kindly help out with sample used.

U don’t have to book for a hotel as this is not the prerequisite for getting visa... what is the guarantee that u have all u require as all cases are different

For your information my leave allowance alone is N1.1M credited since March 2022 without me touching it.

The income from my consulting job is by the way, and it has nothing to do with the refusal. What about the CAC documents submitted ?.was that also clown or what ?. Ogbeni learn how to keep quiet if you have nothing reasonable to say

I have a balance of N3.5 in my statements as a result of my salary, my monthly salary alone is over N800k.

I have to respond to you so you will not confuse other people with your over Sabi.

It's UK lost as am going to another country for my vacation.

I think you could have been more sensitive in your response, the poster is clearly hurt/ annoyed due to the refusal.

Also, It’s possible to work in an organization where your emoluments are paid in tranches, and that was his explanation (a job and his personal business), it doesn’t mean that he was trying to boost his account.

I will suggest that the consulting firm should have its own bank account, for a clearer picture of the poster’s income. It will also help decision making because he can decide to use only the salary account for subsequent visa application.

The only payment into the salary account was the fees paid for a consulting job am doing.

I sent my CAC documents registering the company since 2016.

Transaction details with documents from the company was sent as evidence.

Above is aside my paid employment with evidence oh

Confirmation was done by them and they got a positive response.

Honestly, am pretty sure they goofed in refusing me the visa

I wnt bother re applying. Case close for UK

You state that you intend to come to the UK for 5 days as a business visitor.
You have indicated that you are self-employed and receive an additional income of 1200000.00 NGN (£2,304 @ oanda.com) from other sources per year. In support of your application, you have submitted supporting documents including your personal bank statements and certificate of registration from the Corporate Affairs Commission. However, the supporting information does not demonstrated you pay tax on your income earned with a recent income tax clearance certificate for me to be satisfied of your personal circumstances. In addition, the documents presented are not evidence that your business has current assets or profitably, there is no evidence of the trading activity of your company, its liabilities. The supporting information provided does not clearly establish your personal circumstances for me to be satisfied of your intentions of entering the UK. This damages the credibility of your application and raises concerns about your intentions to travel to the UK at this time.
In determining your application, I have to consider whether you intend to leave the UK at the end of your visit. After an overall assessment of your visa application, am not satisfied if you granted leave to enter as a visitor, that you will comply with all of the conditions attached to any such leave or that you will leave the UK on completion of the proposed visit.
In the light of above, I am not satisfied that your personal and financial circumstances are as stated by you. I am therefore not satisfied that you intend to leave the UK at the end of your visit and that you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor. Your application is therefore refused under Paragraph V4.2 (a) and (c) of Appendix V of the Immigration Rules.

So their excuse is Tax payment but not specific if is personal tax or business

My cousin needed my statement of account to support my sponsorship.....Access bank just issued me a one page note with ticket No and password and stamped DELIVERED to Embassy of united kingdom NG.

They said that's what I need to upload as my statement of account. How does this work? anybody with similar experience from access bank?

If you send a bank statement to the embassy, the embassy will send it to the bank to confirm all the letter on that statement if it's genuine as at the day you printed it. So it not like the embassy will mail the bank to confirm if the funds is there or not.


Very correct... scanned copy would be sent to the Bank head office...
