You sought my advice and i rendered it to you my own way; you asked me to explain, and I explained it in all honesty. I said nothing of offensive nature, so, it is not my fault that you are unable to accept my own opinion, that is your own problem.
Now, this is a display of an ungrateful character, I gave my time and efforts answering your numerous questions, yet you have the mind to show this attitude...: by the way, I'm not interested in how extremely rich you are, just save the bragging for someone who may be interested in your wealth

Well I'm really really sorry Vicjustice, I must commend your effort, justwise and everyone here , didn't mean to sound rude or bragging honestly, but you know most times we can act human and make mistakes. I just understood the statement as insulting to me cos you on your own part didn't understand my fear as this ECO's could just deny an application with little excuses, i have already faced so much disappointments and this time , i'm trying to be extremly careful please accept my apologies and i would like to get a reply from you that you've let it be as we are Men.
God bless you

It is simple, N20k paid into your account is insignificant if the money in the account is imposing, but for the fact that you are bothered that it may raise a question, I am of the opinion that there is not much money in your account

You shouldn't conclude just like that, you are not here with me to know my circumstances, what are you thinking? That anybody that comes here to seek for advice is poor or something, I have to be honest with you, somehow you should work on your public relation, You sound harsh at times if not always, I have over a million naira in that account with regular and consistence income, I also have investment worth millions not bragging anyway, you should try to correct the manner in which you answer or follow people's post here, NOBODY KNOWS IT ALL. Thanks for your reply and I appreciate.

If you have someone to do the reservation for you with a foreign credit card (from abroad) it would be a better choice because, it sometimes happens (but not necessarily the case) that reservations made using Nigerian credit cards (or using foreign credit cards from Nigeria) are automatically cancelled even though there was initial auto confirmation. Ensure that you contact the hotel management for human confirmation.

As for your second concern, that individual is definitely guilty of MONEY LODGEMENT, it is very different from your case in which the monies paid into your account are regular and consistent cash payments by your employer.

Addressing your third concern: N20k is very insignificant.
But hang on a second, are you making me understand that N20k paid into your account is an issue to you? If so, I am of the opinion that your financial circumstance is below what is acceptable for tourist visa application.

I'm not sure i quite understand that bolded part vicjustice, the 20k is not an issue to me, I'm just asking to know if the ECO will see it as an issue since i have never had anyone depositing or transferring money into that account except my employer, access bank was having network issues that day so i requested my friend to pay the money into the account. So what you mean by that bolded part once again
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Asorock1: 1:08am On Nov 10, 2013
Vicjustice, justwise and the house please I intend to book a hotel reservation for 7 days ,will I be able to do this with my ATM visa debit card either with the access bank or fidelity bank, I activated I pin for the access bank card but haven't tried to use it for any online transactions yet. Or should I tell my brother in US to book it for me. Will this pose a problem in anyway?

Again I printed my statement of account clearly showing my salary payed in into my account by my employer though on cash deposit but on my employers name, I was going through the previous post and I saw where somewhere stated the reasons the ECO refused his application and mention cash deposites though i don't know if is money lodgment.

I have a friend of mine whom I lent 20,000 naira and he paid the money back on June and that also reflected on my statement of account , and its the only money credited on a different name other than to my employer's name. I hope this wont be a problem

justwise:

funkybaby that will be a risky thing to do because the balance in his account is material to his visa decision, if an applicant presents a bank statement showing 1m for example, he/her is basically saying that this money is available for me for the trip, going ahead to withdraw significant amount of that money even before the visa is out is misrepresentation/deception.

Yes he can pay more money into the account which can only be a good thing but withdrawing to reduce the balance is risky.

So what are you saying justwise? What's the best thing to do now ?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Asorock1: 8:59am On Nov 08, 2013
funkybaby:

You can go ahead and withdraw the money after printing your statement. The same way money can be deducted from your account doing the application process is the same way money can be credited. What happens if you make a deposit of 350k?

There's no requirement in the guidance docs for visiting visas that you should have money in your account for a certain period of time.

My only concern is the 5 months bank statement. The rules ask for 6 months bank statement prior to your date of application. Right?

I will be printing June to November(6 months) but I might not have my salary for november reflecting in the statement if i print today.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Asorock1: 6:06am On Nov 08, 2013
Vicjustice:
You shouldn't have any problem with a 5 months bank statement especially if the Visa Officer does not see any cause to suspect that you're hiding a recorded transaction. But however, I should warn you that it is risky to present a bank statement to the embassy and then to withdraw a significant amount from the account... This could (but not necessarily) be judged as deception which could result in a 10 years ban from the UK.

I understand , but there is no deception on this, the money is for the land, which i will also present the papers but my fear is that the ECO might not take into consideration the value of the land and will only look at the balance on my statement at that moment to come to a conclusion, that's why i'm thinking if i could print it from june to date ( 6 months) which will also show that 800000 naira was already withdrawn on wednesday and thursday before i do the final withdrawal this afternoon to complete the 1.1m naira I need.
1.)can i print the statement of account today and use it for application in a week or 2 weeks time
2.) Is there a specific date for a SOA to be considered unacceptable
3.) should i go ahead and withdraw all the amount i need and print the statement when I'm ready to apply with balance of 800k or 750k , won't this amount be seen insufficient that's my problem and I don't know if I should wait and receive November salary by 26th to boost the account before i apply, my fear is that the visa might not be ready before 24th which is my intended date of travel to UK should incase the visa is granted, please justwise, vicjustice and good people of nairaland advice is needed as i have just 3 hours to meet for the land deal.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Asorock1: 1:49am On Nov 08, 2013
Please justwise, Vicjustice and other gurus in the house, I want to ask if i can print a statement of account from my bank today and use it for UK visa application in a week or 2 weeks time

Or alternatively if the UK embassy will accept a statement of account from June to October (5 months) showing my regular monthly income and withdraw cos I'm afraid that the balance in my account will reduce to 800,000naira ( exlusive of november salary) which might be seen as insufficient for a week trip once i pull out the 1.1m naira I intend to use to finish up the deal on my 2 plots of land worth 3m naira and Note i will also include the receipt , power of attorney and paper surveys of the land.

I'm thinking of printing the statement at 1.1m closing balance and will withdraw another 300000 today after the statement. Is this a good idea Or it doesn't matter

SOTAJ:

@Asorock, scanned copies of the documents (invitation letter, utility bill, biodata pages etc) will suffice. Just ensure the printed documents are very clear and legible.

That's what I always do.

Cheers

Thanks so much SOTAJ, I will request for a scan copies as that will be faster for me, You mean you've used scan copies and the visa was granted
Travel / Re: Main Reasons Many Are Refused Visas by Asorock1: 6:28pm On Oct 31, 2013
Vicjustice:

1) Normally, and in a normal country where documents can be trusted without verification, it is ok to use your pay-slips alone, but because of the distrust of the Nigerian documentation, the embassy requires further proofs of tax compliance.

2) No, payment doesn't necessarily have to be made by electronic means.

3) This has more or less to do with the visa officer discretion, but be advised that VO does not like to think that an applicant trip will vastly affect his financial stance. And as for your expecting a support from another person, that alone is enough to result in the refusal of your application.
3b) If you write a note together with the application, the note shouldn't need an address, simply enter your reference number at the top. But if need be, address the note to the ECO including your GWF or/and VAR number.

4) That is not necessary, ITINERARY means travel plans and associated arrangements that you have put in place, that is what is required, not just flight ticket.

5) No, as long as it is not fraudulent, what they care about is the genuineness of tax compliance.

6) That won't be a wise thing to do, N145k by is about $1000 which isn't bad in world standard therefore, it is plausible in Nigerian standard: besides, there are people with half of that income, they still get visas with good financial circumstances.
Be warned that your intention would get you banned from the UK and may result in a life ban from the USA.
I should inform you that the information that you see in your passport are the things that you can visibly read, but 75% of the information that your passport contains are machine readable, meaning that they can only be read by diplomatic machines which are used by embassies and immigration authorities, therefore, they will definitely see that you are married
Furthermore, you may NEVER be able to rectify your marital status with the UK or the US as future attempts to correct this would result in complications

7) Give honest answer, gone are the day's that people can get visas by using deception, now-a-days, it is extremely difficult to use deceptive measures, you would be caught with grave consequences

Thanks vicjustice for that information, God bless you.

Please justwise, what's the best way to send all the neccessary documents from an invitee in UK to Nigeria here like the bio data, invitation letter, bank statement etc, through courier or scan copies ?
Is a clear scan copies of all these documents accepted by the british embassy as that wi be faster
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Asorock1: 10:49am On Oct 31, 2013
Sorry for the disturbance justwise, please just this questions below

4.) the personal note, what format should write it with, I mean do i have to also use my company letter head, and whom do I address it to and the address to put there , or should it be just a type note and my signature

5.) Again do I have to explain everything together in one note or separate like reason for my previous trips Dubai and Ghana, bank statement and other things

6.) Is it ok if I also get a sworn affidavit from court to return back to Nigeria Will that help too
7.) what about the balance in my account when I withdraw the 1m naira will be enough for a co-sponsor trip ?
8.) does UK visa requires medical insurance

Thanks and God bless
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Asorock1: 10:36am On Oct 31, 2013
justwise:

7) Lying about your immigration record will not help you now or in the future, don't do it else you will regret it when you get caught.

6) If you are married put married and if you are single put single, don't make things difficult for yourself, there is no point telling some meaningless lies because they will definitely going to dig it out now or in the future.

5) Tax payment does not come into picture if you are an employee as far as the UK visiting visa application is concerned, so in your case its not needed only if you are a business owner.

4) You are advised against buying flight ticket until your visa is not, having a ticket is not part of the visa requirements.

3) Adding a personal note is good as long as it addresses any missing info in your bank statement, e.g the huge withdrawer and don't forget to add the receipt of the property you bought with that money.

2) There is nothing wrong with cash payment by your company since it shows the name of the depositor but it has to be consistent.

1) = 5)

Thanks so much just wise for the prompt reply , I need a better clarification on the bolded part.
1.) I'm not saying I'm paying for a flight or my invitee before the visa, I'm asking if i will still need to submit a confirmed flight reservation booking(not paid) if i have my invitee to take care of that or will a letter indicating that he will co-sponsor my visit and taking of the flight cost be ok

2.) you mean I don't have to submit a tax clearance but my pay slip will show that PAYE is deducted from my income every month right

3.) Then In the employment verification letter what income should be stated there, gross or net And should I include my employment appointment letter too

Justwise good morning please although I already asked Vicjustice and good people of nairaland, at the other thread but i do like to seek your opinion too. Please I want you to clarify me on the following issues for UK visit visa;

1.) if my tax is been deducted by my employer at the end of every month as PAYE, when applying for UK visa do i need to present income tax clearance cert. or just my pay slips to show the gross and net and tax deduction, or both tax clearance and pay slips

2.) my company pays my salary into my account through cash deposits every month and not transfer but showing the name of my company as the depositor, this is the company's policy does it have any negative effect on visa application or could be seen as normal

3.) just like I explained in the US visit visa forum, I intend to withdraw 1m naira from my salary acct to complete the purchase of a 3m naira plots of land, and I will make this withdrawal before applying for the UK visa so it will appear in my statement of account leaving about 900,000 in my account, will this amount be seen as little for a 7 days trip I intend to have my friend inviting me to co-sponsor the trip maybe take care of the flight.

3.) i have some personal notes/explanations to make when submitting my application, like why I will withdraw that huge some amount from my account, my previous travel to Dubai and Ghana, my long term future plans as why I need to come back to Nigeria, how and what address do i refer to when making the notes/letter Do I need to include all this notes in one letter or separate

4.) Will i present a flight reservation confirmation in the application if i have my friend inviting me to be my sponsor for flight

5.) Does the CO take into consideration how much percent tax one pays , cos my employer deducts 5% of my gross income as PAYE or does this percentage varies

6.) I won't lie to you my brothers but this is what I want to do, please no abuse , just advice me and whatever you say i will follow ,I intend to put single in my application when applying for the UK visa, I'm married with a kid but considering the fact about UK, I won't get the visa with a 145k monthly income and with a wife who is not up to a year with her present job and a dependant too. I put married in my passport, but I only need to boost my travel history with UK visit so i can better my chance for US visa next year. Please if i put single in my application form won't the embassy find out the information from my passport even though marital status doesn't appear in my passport bio data page

7.) i have been refused US visa and france once but in my UK application i intend to say NO that I haven't been refused any visa since i have no rejection stamps from these embassies. Is it ok I say No or yes Will the UK embassy find out

I'm sorry this is long i believe others will learn from this too but if nairaland and God doesn't help me, WHO WILL

Anticipating your urgent reply justwise and belove brothers and sisters.

God bless you.

The account statement you're presenting shouldnt have a problem with bal b/f of #900,000, the problem will only surface if a deposit along the line, then show that an amount to the above figure was deposited with no clear source of origin.....

Thanks tzetzefly for the information. I'm grateful.

No eyebrows will be raised as long as your receipt is intact to show where the huge money was transfered to or used for (especially for visas to UK, and the Schengen )

A standard account statement is such that can show all verifiable income and expenditures over a period of time. All monies going in and coming out, must be accounted for. No bogus transactions....

Thanks so much tzetzefly for the prompt respond, please , I didn't understand that bolded part clearly, does it mean the account is standard or not A 6 months statement from from this account will of course show income and outflow from my employer paying my salary into the account, but my fear is if by mathematically i shouldn't have up to that balance without money lodgment because the account is just about a year old, and i have monthly expenses too, but you know when opening account you could use higher amount especially if maybe you want to close up an initial account. So in visa application like UK, what do you advice i do Would withdrawing the 1m for the land and a little note to explain that initial lodgment was done when opening the account for this future plan

How best can i put this in writing. Please help Tzetzefly and beloved brothers in the house.

God bless.

Tzetzefly and everyone in the house please I want to know if there will any negative effect on any visa application in future if i withdraw 1million naira from my account which serves as my salary account and is same acct that I have been using for visa applications, I intend to complete the deal on purchase of my land. I already paid 2m for the land and the agreement is to pay the balance payment on or before November, won't the CO see it as huge some withdrawal expecially if is not an interview visa application where I could explain

Secondly I opened this account last year November with 800,000 naira from my previous salary account i didn't want to continue with the initial bank, now the account is about 1.9m naira, will this be seen or sensed as money lodgment even if the initial amount doesn't appear in a 6 months statement of account owing to the fact that it was just opened within one year and with such balance

God bless you.

Fill ''yes'' since you have been employed at the same organisation for that long . And also be ready to answer questions relating to your job. [/quote]

I will do all you said Tzetztfly , please what about at the previous application where I mistakenly put NO, because I didn't understand that part well? Won't it be seen as inconsistency in application

How do I make the VO understand. By writing or Oral during the interview. Because some may not ask you but will think you lying.

Tzetzefly thanks for the reply, I'm really grateful, please how do I go about the conference, I went to their website but didn't understand the process , I know it does requirement payment but other things like submitting abstract, call for paper, I don't really understand that part, please can look into it and help me.
-When is the best time to go for the interview since the conference in Orlando Florida is march
-please what are the likely questions and best answers to give during the interview for conference purpose.
-When filling the application, on the part of we're you previously employed for the past 5 years, i should still fill NO and then fill the details for the present employer, note once more i have been on my present job for more than 6 years now.
Sorry I'm asking a lot . I think others will also learn from my case.

Hello tzetzefly and everyone
in the house, please I would like some clarifications on this issues, please advice and immediate replies are needed.
1.) I read from a post from someone here about putting NO at the place on US ds160 form when ask if previously employed for the past 5 years, since he is still working with his present employer for more than 5 years now. I think this is my case as well , when I filled my application last few months , at that place i filled NO, and then filled my present employment details because i wasn't previously employed , I have been working with my present employer for more than 6 years now, and during the interview the CO asked me how long I have been working i said 6 years and 4 months as at June. Please is this a mistake, does it pose a treat to my future application, and how do I correct this when applying again , because the form will ask from date of attendance to end date

2.) I intend applying for UK visit visa by the end of October to travel for Christmas holiday but alone without my family because my wife will stay to look after my sick mother in-law as she wants them to come during this Christmas and stay with her. Is it ok for me to apply As to also boost my travel history.

3.) I have decide to go with a conference as a reason for applying for a US visa next year. But my questions are; won't the CO see it as inconsistency in reason to visit US are what are the likely questions and best answer to give during interview for conference.

4.) Please tzetzefly, you said something about a conference on Global Marketing Strategy or Business Consultation/ Development, I have been able to see some conference that required payment on business and economics relating to my field on some sites like allconference.com, conference alerts etc for next year but i don't know how to go about this, like submitting abstracts etc, I have never been to a conference before. These are the conferences;
a.) International Business Research, Economics , Finance and Management, location is Honolulu , Hawaii, US. From jan 6th to jan 9th 2014 again another one from feb 14, 2014 to feb 16, .14.
b.) Orlando winter conference- Research/teaching excellence in Business and Economics conference , Orlando, Florida, US. From 16th to 18th of march, 14.
I want to know if these conferences would be recognized by the US embassy as important and is there any other conference i might go to be seen relevant , which one do I choose how do I go about it, what is the best time to apply

5.) last, a friend of mine wants to apply to UK for the Christmas holiday and he ends 95k monthly after tax, he put married as a marital status when he went for his international passport early this year, and now he just wish to put single as his marital status in his UK application since he doesn't have documents and pictures to support it and owing to the fact that he thinks his income is low for a family person since UK normal ask a lot in their form like how much you spend a month from bills and a lot, so now is it ok for him to just state single in his application
Does the embassy verify the informations on the passport like marital status apart from the one on the passport data page

Is it ok for him to just state single, note he hasn't applied for UK visa before, but has been to some African countries.

God bless you.

My good people of nairaland, just like I said, I will keep you guys posted on my france visa application issue.
Well I arrived so late here in lagos yesterday being thursday, I had no option than to sleep at the ABC terminal, I just managed to brush my teeth and changed to my suit there is no place to bath, the bathroom is for drivers only, it started raining heavily here in lagos very early in the morning, for those of you who stays in lagos can testify to that, after waiting so long for the rain to subside, I had to go under the heavy down pour to avoid the lagos popular traffic jam, even though it later turned out to be what it is. I was so soaked with my suit cos i dressed well thinking it will be an interview issue. I arrived at the france embassy at 8:25AM with wet body, there was a man waiting as well, the security men told me i have to wait till its 10AM. At the said time the back door was opened then i realized that its a Nigerian girl that we have to meet at a counter just like the US embassy counter. By then we already have so many people waiting, I was the second person. The man ahead of me was allowed in , though I don't know the reason, when it was my turn , I explained to the girl why I'm there, she took my passport and the refusal letter with my name and the other names glanced through it, she asked me to wait and she also took the receipt of the woman behind me, she left the counter and went into the consulate . We waited for like an hour or 45 minutes before she showed up and gave the woman her passport , returned my passport to me without any refusal stamp but with another letter this time having my full name with my surname and other names. I was speechless, disappointed , and I felt the pains more than I did initially , what I was actually afraid of really happened, I left my job, time , spend money, the stress and all i passed through both under the heavy rain and so on to come to lagos and collect a corrected sheet of paper. If not that I'm a man really i should have cried. But I remembered the music our driver was playing on our way to lagos. The music said " no matter the struggle, God does his things at the right time". I explained to the people around me who cares to know what happened because i later asked the girl to give me back the initial paper with my name and the other names , she went inside again stayed for 30 minutes came out and told me that the main Oga has taken up the matter that the system showed i was refused, i think she became mean because i told her i want to petition with the paper as i strongly believe there is a mix-up with my application and someone else. But after the argument with the Nigerian girl, a lady and a man called me aside and told me that the truth is that France hardly replies to appeals except in an extreme circumstances, the reply to 2 out of 100 petitions. That I should go an apply for UK visa as that will be easier for me then if I apply again they will give me. I left, I'm
Still here in lagos but will be leaving with the first bus tomorrow.

NOTE: a lot of people who were there actually came to withdraw there applications , I think I didn't even see anyone work out with a France visa on his passport maybe the woman behind me.
A police DPO came shouting that his application has stayed for almost 2 months, same with one other guy who already has a Mexico visa but needed a France transit visa decided to withdraw the passport as he intends to travel with it today the Nigeria girl after consultation with the useless france consulars inside told the guy to get a copy of his ticket so he could be issued a visa, his application already stayed for months.
So many people were complaining that France embassy presently have a very big technical issue. I regretted applying there.

I don't know what to do next. I can only change the things which I can change and to live with those things which I cannot change.

I strongly believe that one day i will write my testimony so long as this.

Opinions and advices are welcome. Thanks and God bless.

bro you have a good opportunity to right what has happened.

1. they wont call you to come and collect rejection stamp. i'd think for using someone else's information on you, you would be compensated; maybe 3 months visa.

2. you have an opportunity to present a case and have a wider knowledge of the circumstance. i'd say go, the risk is worth it and odds may be in your favour

Thank you so much bro , we all are GURU's in our own ways, your words gave me so much strength and courage, I will be on my way to lagos tomorrow.
God bless you.

Tzetzefly and other gurus i called the vsf France Lagos this morning concerning my passport without any rejection or acknowledgement stamp then with another persons name and mine. And they said i have to come to lagos and visit france embassy at ikoyi to rectify the issue as this doesn't require email. This is now so stressful, frustrating and money as i have to leave my work and travel to lagos. I don't even know what the outcome will be, I might just spend money, time and the stress and go to france embassy just to get the rejection stamp on my passport and return back home or could it be that my visa was issued. A lot of questions in my mind

blawi1: @ tzetzefly, I did an SA trip in March and a France application in September of d same year so it is possible to make 2 trips (whether vacation or not) in one year.

@asorock, I'm sorry you didn't get d visa. Indeed Tzetzefly is right, you need to clarify whether that refusal was indeed meant for you. If you were denied and your passport is not stamped, pls don't deny it in any future schengen or uk visa application. The schengen system is interconnected and so all applicants' info enter 1 data bank. It will come up that someone with the same names +/- fingerprints was denied in d past. I had an Italian visa refusal in 2010 and my passport was stamped, d following year I got d France visa.
It will all work-out, and you will go to America by fire by force cheesy just be willing to try again. All the best.

Thanks so much Blawi1 for that wonderful contribution, I will contact the embassy or vsf tomorrow as its independent day today, and I will also send an email to them to know if the denial was for me. Of course i don't have any reason not to indicate that I was previously denied a visa by a shengen state, but my question is what if I was asked by US if I was previously denied any visa , what will be my answer ? That's if after If I don't travel to Europe before December that I intend to apply again.
Secondly will turkey or any other European visa boost my chances for US visit visa, like you said by fire by force i will surely visit America or do i just forget about any other trip and reapply for US visa by December this year with just the Dubai and Ghana trip. Will that show changes in circumstances within 6 months of rejection since I was denied US tourist visa on June 11th this year.

Please tzetzefly I know you want me to ractify the issue at hand with my france application first before any other thing but please let's assumed that it is what it is at the moment rejection. Please look into my above questions and contribute ok, justwise and other gurus don't a let a brother to be frustrated. Happy independent everyone
Anticipating your replies.
God bless

tzetzefly:

When you receive a feedback from them after your e-mail, it should be clearer to you. It is not something we can claim knowledge of.

You need to know the decision on your treated case at the France embassy. As other countries will ask you if you'd been refused visa before. And a clear knowledge of your case is necessary, so as not to have someone else's ban on your file.....

Is very very obvious that you are a blessing to this generation and I hope that one day I will be here giving people advice just like you. I will keep you posted on this.
God bless you.

Send me a message on my nairaland profile....

Ok I will just that tzetzefly , you didn't say anything on the side of them not stamping any refusal on my passport does it mean something is wrong or they mistaken my application for someone else ?

What about Turkish visa? Would that help to boost my travel history as they issue visa sticker as well as being European country though not fully shengen now.
