She has also assured the people that the Commissioner of police has immediately deployed force to the scene.

Bauchi State Government has begun a one-week headcount of prostitutes, commercial sex workers operating in the state.

Present at the inauguration of the enumeration exercise on Wednesday was the Permanent Commissioner, Bauchi State Hisbah Command, Barrister Aminu Balarabe Isah. He said it was designed to support the prostitutes with economic empowerment in able for them to quit prostitution.

He stated that the state government would also assist the identified sex workers who were willing to be reunited with their families. Also adding that the exercise was not meant to witchunt or discriminate against them.

The Commissioner further said the government had initiated the exercise after careful deliberations and considerations of the plight of the sex workers.

“The state government decided to provide them with the necessary empowerment skills and seed capital to enable them to quit the immoral attitude of prostitution. Some of them who are not indigenes of the state will be reunited with their parents if they so wish. The state government will contact their state governments for proper handing over of those affected,” he said.

“Biodata forms will be distributed to the sex workers to provide their personal information such as state of origin and the reason why they ventured into prostitution. They are also require to indicaate the type of trade or occupation of their choice. The state will also sponsor the marriage of those willing to marry or remarry. We are fully committed to implementing the Sharia law as provided in our legal code but with full consideration of fundamental human rights of every citizen”.

United States District Court for the Central District of California has said, Hushpuppi bribed IGP’s team leader, Abba Kyari, to jail a co-conspirator, Chibuzo Vincent.

This was contained in a statement released on Wednesday by the court titled. ‘Six Indicted in International Scheme to Defraud Qatari School Founder and then Launder over $1 Million in Illicit Proceeds’.The court said Hushpuppi, who pleaded guilty to charges including money laundering, wire fraud, used Kyari, a leader of the Inspector-General of Police’ Intelligence Response Team, to jail Vincent.

According to the indictment, Hushpuppi allegedly conspired with five others to defraud a businessperson. By claiming to be consultants and bankers who could facilitate a loan to finance construction of a school in Qatar.

Republic of Benin has filed new charges against Nigerian Yoruba nation activist Sunday Igboho.
Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, was arrested in the Benin last Monday and has being present in court.

Ibrahim Salami, one of the Cotonou, Benin Republic-based lawyers of Sunday Igboho, disclosed the new charges. Although revealing this after Monday’s hearing, where Igboho was ordered to remain in police custody in Benin Republic.

Before the hearing, Salami had said that the legal team was expecting extradition charges from the Nigerian government against the activist.

However, he said Adeyemo was confronted with fresh charges when he appeared on Monday.

The professor said Sunday was further remanded to allow police to conduct a thorough investigation into the charges. These charges include illegal migration, dubious connivance with immigration officers and an attempt to cause civil unrest.
