The Northern Youth Economic Growth Group (NYEGG) has frowned at the continuous insensitivity of satellite TV providers DSTV who they say are exploiting Nigerians and raking in billions monthly at the expense of the country’s economy.


The group expressed this in a statement jointly signed by its National President, Comrade Ibrahim Adamu and its National Secretary, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, made available to AUTHENTIC News Daily in Kaduna on Thursday June 6, 2019.


“We have been studying the economic implications of DSTV’s operations in Nigeria and are worried that it is not in the interest of individuals or the national economy.


“The charges besides being exorbitant on monthly basis, puts a burden on our foreign exchange as the South African based company has not been able to come out clear with what it does with the billions it makes from the country monthly,” they said.


They said from information gathered, DSTV charges as much as N5,400 for 29 channels and for their Premium, subscribers pay as much as N15,800 monthly, which they described as ‘wicked’.

The group said that they are not against the company but are worried that only few Nigerians are employed by the firm with the North not benefitting from such, in spite of the huge profit they make in the country and the North.


“We would have been praising the company if it uses a portion of the profit it makes in developing sectors like agriculture, which will translate to many jobs,” they stressed.


The group called on the Nigerian government to come up with laws, preventing DSTV and other investors from moving profits out of the country, if non exists presently.


They also advised Nigerians to find a local alternative that would provide cheaper services and help the economy.

A group, the Atiku Care Foundation has taken a swipe on the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Muhammad Buhari over what it described as perilous times facing the country.


This was expressed in a statement signed by the Spokesman of the foundation, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, made available to newsmen on Monday in Kaduna.


“It is saddening to see that Nigeria is heading towards a new precipice of a dangerous level, occasioned by the current level of economic uncertainty and harvests of deaths from preventable causes,” it said.


The foundation lamented that Nigerians now wake to receive sad news of suicide that is mostly affecting the youth, whom are expected to be the future of this great country.


It further stated that in spite of the abundance of human and material resources, the nation is gripped with economic woes, resulting from poor management by those at the helm of affairs.


“It is a sad awakening, Nigeria has never had it this bad, and as if they envisaged it, they overwhelmingly cast their votes for former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (GCON) in the 2019 polls, with most disappointed that his mandate was wickedly stolen.


“The now emboldened well armed bandits, kidnappers and other criminals are having a field day terrorising innocent Nigerians on a daily basis.


“The story is not different, from Zamfara to Kaduna, Katsina to Plateau, Delta to Anambra, it has been harvests of death in recent times, with most Nigerians wondering if the security agencies have gone on a long break,” it noted.


The group said that the soul of the nation is bleeding “as most highways have become grave yards for travelers.”


It pointed out that the Boko Haram terrorists which the government claimed to have decimated have become bolder, attacking military barracks at will, making more women widows in an already bastardized economy where even those with husbands find survival hectic.


“We call on President Muhammad Buhari and the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) to take urgent measures in tackling these challenges to prevent anarchy, ahead of Atiku’s victory at the tribunal, to prevent inheriting a comatose country.


“The message is getting clearer and we remain confident that, Atiku is coming!” It concluded.

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at Your Door Campaign Forum has congratulated the people of Zamfara State over the historic judgment delivered unanimously by the 5-man Supreme Court Justices, which paved way for candidates of PDP in the 2019 general elections as winners, saying the state has gained a significant independence.


In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, made available to journalists in Kaduna, the group said it has once again proven that the judiciary remains the hope of the common man.


“Zamfara has been held captive by a cabal for over 20 years, which through its bad governance impoverished the people, giving room for banditry and other vices to thrive.


“Zamfara people have gained independence and is on the threshold of prosperity, peace and progress,” it stated, while advising the All Progressive Congress candidates which it described as imposed to accept the outcome in good faith.


The statement commended Senator Kabiru Maraca for his doggedness and dexterity in taking the bull by the horns and blowing the whistle on the illegality of the APC primaries, assuring him that Zamfara people will forever be grateful for the sacrifice.


It recalled that since 1999, only one camp had governed the state, a development that has made power remain in that particular bloc.


PDP @ Your Door Campaign hailed the Supreme Court Justices, assuring that posterity will forever remember them.
The forum congratulated Zamfara Governor elect, Matawalle, senators-elevt, state assembly members elect, all expected to be from the main opposition, PDP.

Atiku Care Foundation has advised the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to be guided by its conscience in delivering judgment and not allow itself to be swayed by what it described as the tyrannical tendencies of President Muhammadu Buhari, which may lead to anarchy.

“What will be their attitude to deliver justice without thinking of the tyrannical hammer of Gen. Buhari who had wielded same on the immediate past CJN Onnoghen.


“Even though we now know that the Court of Appeal has declared Onnoghen’s mistreatment as illegal.


“We are afraid we might be heading for a charade at the appeals tribunal except the judges will keep to their conscience and let the wheel of justice grind to a truthful, factual and uncompromisingly compelling end.


“That is what all Nigerians are looking forward to. Any acts of heinous neglect of the true facts of the matter will erode the judiciary and leave space for chaos and anarchy.


“On this note, we call for truth and conscience to work as siamese twins on this matter and let justice not only be done but to be clearly seen to be done,” the statement said.


According to the statement titled, ‘JUSTICE BULKACHUWA AND THE CONSCIENCE TO DO GOOD IN ATIKU ABUBAKAR vs MUHAMMADU BUHARI et al’ the foundation said that this goes a long way in proving the quote, “Conscience is an open wound and only the truth can heal it” by Othman Dan Fodio true.

The group said that the decision to withdraw from the Presidential election petition tribunal honourably by Justice Bulkachuwa is an honourable act that will forever remain a shinning example for women in decision making process.

“This is based on the assumption that people choose how cooperative and how assertive to be in a conflict. In doing this, she has chosen not to compromise justice by rejecting the tortoiseshell complicity of the other judges on the panel. We commend her resolve and she is a shining example of the meekness of women in decision making process,” it stated.

The foundation said that conflict of interest is a situation in which a person has a duty to more than one person or organization, but cannot do justice to the actual or potentially adverse interests of both parties.


“In fact, a conflict of interest can exist even if there are no improper acts as a result of it. The conflict can be mitigated—but it still exists. In and of itself, having two roles is not illegal, but the differing roles will certainly provide an incentive for improper acts in some circumstances, like when a direct family member was an interested party in the situation. In this case, Justice Bulkachuwa’s husband has been recently elected Senator from Bauchi as a member of the ruling APC government.


“However, faced with the obvious question of personal conviction, Justice Bulkachuwa chose the high road and recused herself from the tribunal. Kenneth Thomas and Ralph Kilmann developed five conflict resolution strategies that people use to handle conflict, including; avoiding, defeating, compromising, accommodating, and collaborating,” it added.

The Arewa Youth For Good Governance and Economic Prosperity (AYGGEP) has warned those making untoward comments against the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha to desist from such or face their wrath.

They expressed this in a statement issued in Kaduna after their congress, jointly signed by the National President, Ibrahim Adamu and National Secretary, Kato P. Ladan, made available on Thursday May 16, 2019.


The group frowned at those it described as selfish for taking on the SGF, reminding them that the SGF’s role in stabilising the President Muhammad Buhari’s administration should not be undermined.

“Arewa Youth For Good Governance and Economic Prosperity (AYGGEP) has watched with keen interest the important role played by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Mr. Boss Mustapha in stabilising the activities of governance.


“We are surprised that some few individuals, perhaps for their selfish interests are bent on distracting him from the all important duty of helping our amiable President, Muhammad Buhari (GCFR) in taking our dear country to the next level.


“AYGGEP after our meeting in Kaduna on Wednesday May 15, 2019, resolved to make our support for the SGF public, in view of the resounding success he has recorded since coming on board,” they said.


The group further averred that they believe President Buhari means well for the country and equally needs support of great minds like Mr. Boss Mustapha.


“At a time like this that Nigeria is facing several challenges, the least we can do as patriotic citizens who mean well is to support those that are genuinely working hard at taking the country to the next level other than distracting or making attempts to pull them down.


“The SGF is loved and respected by youth in the entire North and we are wondering why few elements from his home state of Adamawa are the ones turning the heat on,” they alleged.


They further said that, “We are optimistic that Mr. Mustapha has a sound mind and would never be distracted by those with little mindset but wish to reiterate that Nigeria is greater than any individual or group of individuals, hence we call on such detractors to do the noble thing by supporting instead of seeking relevance.”
AYGGEP commended President Buhari for his genuine efforts at pulling Nigeria out of the woods.


“We appeal to him to only listen to his conscience and good judgment as he yet again embarks on the difficult task of appointing cabinet and aides.


“Nigeria must prevail above every individual, group or affiliation. The common good is what we pray for,” they vowed.

The Arewa Youth Forum is solidly in support of the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai over recent statements credited to him that godfatherism should give way in politics in Nigeria.


This was contained in a statement signed by the Acting President Arewa Youth Forum, Ahmed Mohammed Zagi, dated May 12, 2019.


“His call is a welcome development and should be supported by every youth in the country as it remains the only key to liberation,” the group said.


They said that they took our time to respond after brainstorming and unanimously agreed that such liberation can only be achieved if they vehemently resist and kick out godfatherism from Nigeria’s political terrain.


“Since our country attained Independence in 1960, we have had almost the same set of people dictating who becomes what in our country.


“These same set of people became leaders when they were youth but unfortunately, decades after, they greedily cling onto the corridors of power, constantly dictating who they think will do their bidding,” they said.


The group said that el-Rufai’s comment has excited them and he has emerged as a shinning example to the country’s youth.


“We are happy that Governor el-Rufai remains a shining example that Nigerian youth can win elections without relying on so called godfathers.


“With his success story, we as Arewa Youth in particular, and Nigerian youth in general can hold our own grounds and begin to dictate who becomes what, a development that will usher us into prosperity through fresh innovative minds that will propel industrialization and economic growth,” they added.


The Arewa Youth Forum therefore, frowned at those who they said may have misunderstood el-Rufai, who for now has demonstrated leadership ability and is a revolutionary step they can rely on especially now that the country is saddled with several challenges that require pragmatic solutions.


“We therefore, reiterate our support for Malam el-Rufai and call on him to be the leading light to liberate Nigeria from the shackles of godfatherism which has held our collective destinies captive for too long,” they concluded.

Justices handling the Presidential elections tribunal have been charged to remain firm, independent and resolute in the petition filed by former Vice President and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2019 election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as they remain the last hope of the Nigerian youth.

SA Youth and Support Groups to Atiku Abubakar, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas expressed this in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Tuesday May 7, 2019.


“Honourable justices, as hearing of the presidential election petition is set to begin, I want to kindly remind you that, we, the Nigerian youth have you as our last hope to restore democratic practice and principles in Nigeria and put the country back to the part of prosperity,” he said.

In the statement titled, ‘THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION PETITION TRIBUNAL: A PASSIONATE APPEAL TO THE JUDGES OF THE COURT OF APPEAL’ he said that in the history of Nigeria, the judiciary, which is the bastion and the pillar of every democracy and the most sacred institutions has never been under attack like it’s facing now.


“This government has shown in some cases, flagrant disobedience to court orders thereby undermining the powers of the court. This kind of behavior is very dangerous to our democracy.

“We see you as our last hope to believe and have faith in the Nigeria of the future. In my travels outside the shores of Nigeria, I have come across several Nigerians who left the country because they’ve lost all hope in the leadership of Nigeria.


“The last four years under the APC led government has been hellish to the Nigerian youth as millions of them have lost their jobs,” he added.


He lamented that this is obviously a trying time for Nigeria and only the honourable justices of the Appeal court, set to listen to the presidential election petition can restore the confidence of the Nigerian youth.

“This moment brings a clear opportunity for you to send a strong message to the Nigerian politicians that electoral manipulation and malpractices will not be tolerated in the temple of Justice regardless of the perpetrators.


“The presidential election petition also provides a perfect opportunity for you to write your names in gold and make a history. It has happened in Kenya under an incumbent, it can happen in Nigeria,” he pointed out.


He therefore, passionately appealed to the honorable justices of the Appeal court to exert their independence by every means legally necessary and stand firm even in the face of intimidation.

“Work for Nigeria and not for any individual. We, the Nigerian youth are solidly behind you because we believe in you and in your commitment and readiness to deliver justice without fear or favor.

SA, to former Vice President and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on Youth & Support Groups, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas expressed this in an open letter to APC, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday May 2, 2019.


“There’s a limit to what Nigerians can take. The younger generation of this country will not sit back and watch you desperately forcing a failed leader on them to destroy their future.

“Millions of Nigerians youth have already lost their jobs in the last four years, that is the main reason for this increase in crime across the country. Take heed because Revolution that will consume all of you is coming. Enough is enough!” He said.


In the letter titled, ‘AN OPEN LETTER TO THE ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS (APC)’ he expressed disappointment with the outcome of the ele tions as announced by INEC. “I wish to use this channel of communication to write you this open letter to Atikulate our utter disappointment and continued rejection of the total mess you called presidential election.

“Recall that in 2015, former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (God bless him immensely) promised to give Nigerians a free, fair and credible election that everyone would be proud of.

“He openly stated that election is not a do or die affair and he would not allow anyone to die for him just to cling to power at all costs. Here is a man with conscience who kept his words and lived to his promise.

“The 2015 general elections was adjudged by both local and international Observers as one of the best thing that has ever happened to Nigeria since June 12,” he said.

He further said, “Disgracefully and shamelessly, in 2019, the leadership of the All Progressive Congress was caught on tape saying “Those who cannot stand the pains of rigging should not contest in an election.”


“That was the word of a desperate Adams Oshiomhole. Because of his loquacious nature, the truth forced itself out of his stomach without permission.

“To prove that the you meant business with the threat to rig the 2019 presidential election, you gave Nigeria the WORST election the world has ever seen or witnessed. You connived with the leadership of INEC and rigged the presidential election at the collation centers.


” An election that was clearly in favor of Atiku Abubakar of the PDP. You and some criminal INEC staff manipulated the results at the collation centers by using the 2015 presidential election results as a template to return Muhammadu Buhari of the APC as president elect,” he alleged.


He emphasized that the government has failed in all ramifications and should quirky throw in the towel.


“We want to let you know that Nigerians and Nigeria deserves better than the current government of failure. This government has failed in all ramifications and everything from bad economy, corruption to insecurity keeps getting worse everyday since Buhari came into power.


“The last four years was a disaster, the result of which Nigeria is today, the World Poverty Capital and the most MISERABLE NATION on earth with an increasing rate of frustration, suicide and lots of other crimes. It is obvious, this government lacks direction and is completely lost at a crossroads.

” The government has shown clearly that it doesn’t have the solution to Nigeria’s problem. That’s why Nigerians kicked your government out, but you rigged the election to remain in office by force whether Nigerians like it or not.

“Note that we have heard on good authority that this desperate government is doing everything to cave in the justices of the Appeal Court. We have heard that many of them have allegedly been threatened to either do the bidding of the APC or be given the Justice Walter Onnoghen’s treatment.


“We want to strongly warn that you to desist immediately from this act of desperation to cling to power at all costs. The judiciary, which is the arbiter of Justice must be allowed to do their work without threats or coercion. You must allow them to deliver justice to the Nigerian people without fear or favor,” he warned.

The SA to former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on Youth & Support Groups, Amb Aliyu Bin Abbas has warned the Independent National Electoral Co mission (INEC) that it should not threaten Nigeria’s democracy which came through sacrifices made in spite of dangers that were staring the agitators in the face at that time.


He expressed this in an open letter addressed to the INEC Chairy, Professor Yakubu Mahmood, which was circulated online on Thursday April 25, 2019.


“Sir, I would like to start by reminding you that one singular path to cast into the abyss the democracy of any nation is to aid and abet rigging during elections. It’s a recognized fact that once democracy is undermined, it would take just a little time before it collapses.


“Kindly be reminded that Nigeria’s democracy did not come free of cost. It took the tears, sweat, and the blood of many Nigerians who matched to the streets to protest against the autocratic and tyrannical regimes of the military.

“Many people paid dearly with their lives, while those who escaped death became debilitated for the remainder of their lives. These uncelebrated men and women gave in everything hoping that the next generation would enjoy the dividends of a new Nigeria,” he said.


Also contained in the letter titled, ‘AN OPEN LETTER TO THE INEC CHAIRMAN, PROF YAKUBU MAHMOUD A REMINDER’ he said that sustenance of democracy begins with electing qualified candidates who will not undermine the rule of law.


“Sir, you will agree with me that the sustainability of democracy begins with electing qualified candidates who will not undermine the constitution, rubbish the rule of law and separation of power, disobey court orders, and drag down all other institutions of democracy.


“The system can only be sustained if the masses are allowed to decide who lead them devoid of any manipulation.


“The 2019 presidential election organized under your leadership is the WORST in the entire history of the human race to say the least.


“It is the most unfortunate thing that has ever happened to Nigeria. HURIWA described it as “a crime which is worse than that of Evans the Kidnapper.” Chief Femi Falana SAN called it a “total mess.” He said.


Ambassador Abbas pointed out that despite overwhelming evidence, which shows that INEC under his leadership rigged the February’s election in favour of the incumbent, Muhammadu Buhari of the APC, he went ahead and declared a cooked and fraudulent result, returning the candidate of the APC as the president-elect.


“The attitude displayed by your commission (INEC) has added credence to the widely held believe that INEC under your leadership has been politicized and will never for any reason be trusted by the good people of Nigeria,” he stated.

He further told Professor Mwhmood that there is nothing as disgraceful and more irritating than the shameless denial of his commission in respect of the 2019 presidential election results in the INEC server.

“The result in the server (PDP ~ 18,356,732; APC ~ 16,741,430) shows that Atiku Abubakar of the PDP is the true and genuine winner of the 23rd February 2019 presidential election.

“But INEC announcing a concocted and a fraudulent result proves that the commission deliberately worked in cohort with Buhari and the APC to rig out Atiku Abubakar of the PDP.

“Kindly note that under your leadership, INEC has made it very clear (in both videos & print) that the commission will electronically transmit result of the February 23rd presidential election across all the polling units in the country into a central server to enhance transparency and credibility of the process.

“They should better stop all these inconsequential issues and better face the court. It is obvious they know our judicial system will rule against the evil that was carried out during the general elections,” he advised.

Ambassador Abbas said that he was completely disturbed by the ‘new low level’ the APC is taking Nigeria’s democracy to.

“I have watched from a distance to see how Nigeria’s democracy has suffered from the hands of some tyrants and political riffraffs who hide under the umbrella of the APC,” he lamented

He continued, “In the history of Electioneering, Nigeria has never faced what happened in the just concluded elections,” he added..

He said the February 23 Presidential election is warming up to register in the history books as the worst ever the world over.

“It is the biggest fraud to happen in any political terrain. Now they’re jittery knowing fully well that the whole world knows what happened.

“How frustrated can these guys be by telling cheap lies and distorting the process of the tribunal with controversial claims about His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s Citizenship.

In its bid at fastracking the development of the game of basketball in Nigeria and Africa, frontline basketball team in the United States of America, Chicago Bulls has donated two hundred balls and some bags to the maiden Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria National/International Workshop for coaches.
This was disclosed by the Nigerian Coordinator of the workshop, Coach popularly known as Coach OBJ at the close of the training at the weekend at the gymnasium hall of ABU.
Coach OBJ said the support from Chicago Bulls was unprecedented and called on other public spirited individuals, teams and corporate organisations to emulate them and other sponsors of the workshop.
“We are grateful to them and other sponsors and calling on others to emulate them,” he said.

Coach OBJ said that the workshop which he described as successful, featured 54 participants, including nine ladies from all over Nigeria.

“Isa Umar Foundation donated two sets of jerseys to male and female basketball teams of ABU during the visit,” he added.
In an interview with our correspondent, Andy Kpedi, one of the coaches and also sponsor, said that with what he witnessed during the workshop, Nigeria is in good hands with basketball coaches.
“There are things they need to improve on, is writing things down and documents their progression.
“They have improved because we gave them the skills they needed to I prove on, I made them do a practice plan, which they did. They have been excellent,” he concluded.
As part of the workshop, a health fitness session was anchored by Dr. Funmi Dominic an Associate Professor of the University of Ilorin.
Funmi who is also the institution’s basketball coach and currently the Director of Sports University of Ilorin, said the session was to ensure the coaches are healthy.
“Its a workshop for coaches, but we need to check to ensure they are healthy. We also provided for them psychologically. We have also conducted medical tests and check ups on them.
“Through questions and answers we have discovered where they have health problems and provided possible solutions,” she added.
In separate interviews, coaches that participated expressed delight at what they have learnt.
Saratu Luga coach of FCT City Chiefs Basketball Team, said she learnt a lot from the workshop.
“Learnt that I must upgrade, I must move with time, stay fit to be able to impart in youth or basket players.
“I am optimistic it would impact on my team. Professionalism has been learnt” Luga, who spent last season coaching Nigerian Air force Warriors Team, Abuja said.
For Fatima Bashir Adetunla, Female basketball coach of Bayero University Kano, she said she will use all learnt to maintain winning streaks of her team.
“I will use everything I learnt here in maintaining my winning spirit to keep the gold coming.
“The university sponsored me here and I will pay them back by putting into practice what I learnt here for efficiency and better results,” she said.
Also speaking, Zamfara State basketball coach, Bashar Mohammed said that what he has learnt will make him a better coach.
“I have learnt all the drills, many things like what a coach is expected to do on the court.
” Also learnt that we have coaching problem but we are coming up. I learnt lots of things,” he said.
While commenting on the brilliant performance of his team during an exhibition game with the ABU Kings Basketball Team, he said he was amazed at the improvement recorded.
“Our players learnt some skills that we didn’t know about until the workshop, which we put into practice while playing the ABU Kings basketball team,” he said.

I am proud to be a Nigerian Soldier because everyday I wake up in the morning knowing that I help keep this country alive, that what I do makes a difference.

Only we are willing to make the tough decisions, to work the long hours, and make the sacrifice that is necessary to defend a country. Because we are Nigerian soldiers and that’s our job and our way of life.

I think you should thank us not just because we wear the uniform but, because we’ve chosen to spend time away from our family so that you can spend time with yours, for honoring our missions, morale and satisfactory fighting efficiency even when we may not always agree with the policies of those in charge, for making it possible for you to do the work you love, with the people you love and respect. and for making the ultimate sacrifice so that you and your family can live another day breathing, loving, and being.

If you don’t stand behind our troops, pls feel free to stand in front of them and salute their courage. We are more than movie stars.

And in terms of any conflicts in the society which will require the display of Soldiers, I liked the part where our performance there is to help establish a frame work that will let civilians both local and international do what is needed, we arrive in an organize group with our vehicles, communication and our own security, we are good in covering an area like a blanket with a systematic command, control and intelligence network, we also have the capacity to stifle violence permitting cooperation to take rout.

And my experience in the battlefield, Practically, It was a frenzy, you either KILL or been KILLED. Its not Nollywood, If you know, you already know, and to God be the glory and His infinite Mercy’s cause in all my endeavors He’s always keeping me at the edge of the safe zone! Believe me or not, Such experience will continue to put history in perspectives.

May the Almighty God continue to enhance the COAS with innovative ideas and Leadership skills and strengthen the Nigerian Army professionally, effectively and responsively in it’s fight against terrorism while discharging its constitutional roles.

“While on the trip, the delegation which was led by its Director General, Amb. Aliyu Bin Abbas, held strategic partnership meetings with the leadership of renowned organisations such as United Nations agencies, Dubai Cares and others.
In one of his remarks, Amb. Aliyu said, “Atiku Care Foundation has been able to do quite a number of intervention and humanitarian services in Nigeria.
“Through these services, we have been able to come to the aid of downtrodden Nigerians. We see our work as opportunities to serve humanity. We are passionate in carrying out these projects and we will not relent on our efforts.”
The meetings which were attended by a 5-man delegation from the foundation, focused on how to attract humanitarian support to Nigeria, are aimed at benefiting the less privilege Nigerians.

Bauchi State has a chance to rewrite its history as its electorate vote for the next governor on March 9, 2019, which is just hours away.

They can either choose to vote for progress or vote for stagnation and retrogression.

The voters have their future in their hands and must be wise enough to make decisions that would either impact or leave negative consequences in the next four years.

They have three main options before them; the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), tipped to win the polls by many,if the election results are not rigged.

The electorate should however, remember to protect their future by protecting their votes by ensuring each vote casts, counts.

They should remember that for the past four years, the state remained stagnant as a result of purposeless leadership.

They should also remember that they could have a better economy premised on good leadership and accountability to move the state forward.

Bauchi people should also bear it on their minds that there is a commitment by the NNPP as a party and Ambassador Shuaibu Ahmed Adamu as its candidate to combine human and natural resources in the state to create an economy that will serve as role model to other states

It would also be important to remind Bauchi State citizens that the abundant tourism potentials that would position the state as not just the number one tourism destination in Nigeria, but West Africa sub region would be fully harnessed as promised by Ambassador Adamu.

Importantly, the good people of Bauchi State should also remember that it is their civic responsibility to not only vite, but ensure credible leadership is put in place.

The gubernatorial candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Bauchi State, Ambassador Shuaibu Ahmed Adamu is optimistic that with the human and natural resources that the state is blessed with, it can be the envy of others if harnessed and properly managed.

He expressed this in a statement titled, ‘My Thoughts And Ambition For Bauchi State’ in which he listed the huge potentials and how they can be utilised, if given the mandate to govern the state at the gubernatorial polls scheduled for March 9, 2019.

“Bauchi State has amazing potentials. The state is rich in natural resources with a land mass of 49,259 square kilometres of 5.3 of Nigeria’s total land mass. It is also rich in human resources with a population of nearly 6 million people, the seventh most populous state in Nigeria.

“The agricultural potentials of Bauchi State with both rain and irrigation farming are also enormous. Of the state’s total land mass of 4,925,900 hectares, 80 per cent of it or 3,900,000 hectares is suitable for farming,” he stressed.

Ambassador Ahmed Adamu said that going side by side with agriculture, the livestock potentials of Bauchi State is also huge. “With an estimated livestock population of 1.2 million goats and nearly four million poultry (chicken, ducks, turkey, pigeons and guinea fowl) and 43 grazing reserves, Bauchi State could be turned into meat capital of Nigeria,” he pointed out.

Speaking further, he said that Bauchi State is also blessed with numerous mineral resources such as good, lead, casserite, columbite, iron ore, limestone, antimony, gypsum, zinc, sulphur, amethyst, aquamarine, marble and granite.

“These mineral resources are still largely unexplored and untapped,” he lamented.

As a huge tourism market, the NNPP Gubernatorial candidate said that the state is endowed with numerous tourist attractions; the Yankari Games Reserve, the Sumu Wild Life Park, the Lame-Bura Game Reserve, etc.

In terms of sports development, he noted that Bauchi State also has one of the best sporting facilities in Nigeria (the Games Village, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Multipurpose Sports Complex, Olympic Size Swimming Pool, Synthetic Hockey Pitch, uncompleted glass squash court etc).

On power generation to grow industries and businesses, he said that there are also extraordinary opportunities in Bauchi State for hydro and solar power; geothermal energy and biofuels.

He expressed this in a statement issued in reaction to the declaration made by INEC at about 4:30am on Wednesday February 27, 2019.
“We know that all genuine and truthful people are dampened by this brutal electoral rape of the conscience of the nation by the forces of terror masquerading under INEC and the Nigerian military,” he said.

In the text of the statement titled, ‘APPEAL FOR CALM BUT WITH STOIC FORTITUDE’ he called on Nigerians at home and abroad to rise up in defence of the country’s democracy.
“Fellow Nigerian Youths and all well meaning Nigerians at home and abroad and the international community are encouraged to stand up and defend democracy or stand the dangerous consequences of allowing impunity and rascality of the ruling APC gov’t of Gen Muhammadu Buhari,” he said.
He therefore, appealed for calm, while assuring that all lawful means would be employed in reclaiming the mandate.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, the group said that their candidate and his party still has a lawful way of defending its stolen mandate.

“Our mandate was brazenly stolen at collation centres, where figures of APC swelled and that of PDP shrinked.

” According to reports we saw from civil society groups and foreign observers, Atiku won the polls and should have been declared winner but what was announced was far from what we saw,” it stated.

The group said that it is not just the PDP that was denied the Presidency, but Nigerians are denied a chance of a robust leadership in Atiku Abubakar, a seasoned businessman who has what it takes to turn the nation’s failing economy around.

“Nigeria is the ultimate loser and ts poor masses, are worse off, in a country said to at present harbouring the highest number of poor people,” it added.

While calling on all members of PDP and supporters of Atiku to remain calm and law abiding, the group said that it was sad to have an election marred by several irregularities that saw result announced four days after the conduct.

It thanked Nigerians for overwhelmingly trooping out to vote their candidate, assuring them that all hope was not lost.

National Coordinator of the forum, Comrade Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani said that he is personally pained by the declaration, but is optimistic that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar at the end of the day, would smile last.

The New Nigeria Peoples Party on Tuesday rejected the results of the Bauchi North senatorial district election held on 23rd February 2019 due to irregularities describing it as a daylight robbery and rape of our democracy.
Addressing newsmen on Tuesday at the Abuja national secretariat, the party speaking through its National Secretary, Agbo Major distanced itself from the results declared which put Alh Adamu Mohammed Bulkachuwa of the APC with 110,631as winner and Hon Farouk Mustapha of NNPP in the second place with 92,140. Agbo questioned the integrity of the Resident Electoral Commissioner of Bauchi State who deployed the electoral officers that colluded with the APC-led state government to perpetrate this seeming rape of our democracy.
“For the avoidance of doubts, the party is in possession of video evidences of what transpired at Gamawa where Electoral officers were kidnapped and forced to alter results to close the gap created by the crushing defeat the APC and PDP candidates suffered in five local government areas where our candidate was already in a comfortable lead as well as in Zaki Local Government Area where after sporadic shootings to scare our supporters away, the caretaker chairman was removed on the night of the election day for refusing to cooperate with the invaders led by an AIG of police with a mission to falsify the results in favour of the APC candidate.
“We are aware of how people were asked to go and pray at about 7pm to enable them whisk away the electoral officers with their materials to where this massive thumbprinting took place in Bauchi town about 200 kilometers away without the use of the card readers.
“We must bring to the notice of the whole world that against the electoral laws as well as extant guidelines for the conduct of these elections, the results of the ballot for Gamawa and Zaki local government areas were not declared at the polling units for our party agents to sign and have copies, neither were they declared at the local government collation centres as the electoral officers had already been taken away to Bauchi under a high profile security arrangement.
“The electoral officers were only brought to Azare, where the senatorial election collation centre was located and to our amazement the padded votes from the two local governments were then presented which gave the APC candidate the lead on the basis of which he was declared winner.
“We are aware of the huge protest by voters to the Emir’s palace demanding that the true result of the election be declared and the certificate of return to issued to the NNPP candidate, Hon Farouk Mustapha.
” It took the party’s intervention to calm the nerves of the restive youths and aged voters who freely gave out their mandate to the NNPP candidate to forestall breakdown of law and order (as seen in this video).
“We are calling on all local and foreign observers who served in Bauchi North, the leadership of INEC, Mr President to ensure that in the spirit of fairness the will of the people is allowed to prevail by ensuring that the rightful winner of the election, Hon Farouk Mustapha be declared winner and issued the certificate of return or better still cancel the results from Gamawa and Zaki local government areas where these fraud were perpetrated and allow a rerun to enable a winner emerge properly and in line with the electoral laws of the federation.
“The attention of security agencies and other relevant agencies in Bauchi state have already been drawn to this protest by the NNPP candidate himself. As a law abiding political party that believes in the unity of our dear country, we have asked our teeming followers in Bauchi state to continue to maintain the peace while the party explore the most peaceful way of resolving this impasse without any form of breakdown of law and order.
“We will continue to update Nigerians from time to time.”

Less than a month to the March 2 Gubernatorial polls, one state where the two big parties are likely to be shocked is Bauchi, where all odds favour the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Ambassador Shuaibu Ahmed Adamu.
For every right reason, the drum beats of success are beating in favour of NNPP in the entire Bauchi State.
Below are ten reasons why Ambassador Adamu stands a good chance of occupying the Bauchi Government House by May 29;
1. Experience: As an experienced technocrat, who is an accountant with a very successful accounting firm, Bauchi indigenes need not worry themselves about their funds, because they would definitely be in safe hands.
2. Need For Power Shift: The clamour for power shift from Bauchi South Senatorial Zone who have held sway for 20 years is yet another odd in favour of Ambassador Adamu. Incumbent, Governor Mohammed Abubakar is from Bauchi South. Isa Yuguda (2007 to 2015) too who was before him, is also from Bauchi South, same applies to ex Governor Adamu Muazu, who was in charge from 1999 to 2007.
The 20-year grip on power by the south is not being viewed kindly by advocates of power shift from the central and northern Senatorial zones.
Ambassador Adamu happens to be from Ningi, which falls under the central Senatorial zone, a plus for his candidacy at this material time.
3. Grassroots: Anybody conversant with the electioneering campaigns in Bauchi State in 2019 would note that only one candidate, Ambassador Adamu was in constant touch with the grassroots. He took his time, going round all the wards in all the local government areas.
One place that stands him out is Darazo Local Government Area, which shares borders with the insurgency ravaged Yobe State. In Darazo, not scared of the risks involved, nor the several roads and dusty paths that are nearly not motorable, he went on visiting Papa, which is linked by a dusty road several kilometres off the Bauchi-Yobe Highway, even going ahead to Aliya Town, which is almost cut off from the rest of the world. He made the record of the only gubernatorial candidate to have ever visited the area.
Before veering off the Bauchi-Yobe highway to Lanzai, he received royal blessings from the District Head of Papa, Alhaji Suleiman Abdullahi who said that by God’s grace, Ambassador’s ambition will be realized, while reminding him that they lacked roads, electricity and farm inputs like fertilizers and pesticides.
4. Humility: Just like the popular saying, ‘Pride goes before a fall’ has been proven to be true over and over again through history, humility is also richly rewarded, both by humans and the Creator. Ambassador Adamu’s humility is legendary. He relates with everyone without seeing himself as superior. In spite of the heights in life that he has attained, he still mingles freely, eats freely and interacts with all, without raising his shoulders high. This is one quality that makes him stand out from other top contenders for Bauchi’s top job.
5. Poor performance of incumbent: The poor performance by incumbent governor of Bauchi State, has even made winning the coming polls easy for any serious contender. Ordinarily, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would have been the best bet to grab the opportunity, unfortunately, Bauchi electorate still have trust issues with PDP, hence, most are pitching their tents with NNPP. Another odd against the PDP candidate is the lack of performance and corruption allegations while serving as FCT Minister, and the fact that he is associated with thuggery by his supporters. He is generally also seen as not serious and lacking focus.

6. Party Ideology: With an ideology focused on programmes that are targeted at the majority of citizens, Bauchi people see NNPP as a beautiful bride and are not ashamed to court the party. They believe that a victory for the party is one for the masses as well as all Bauchi citizens. With plans to invest heavily in the grassroots to curb rural-urban migration, it would be a win-win for all as crime rates and unemployment will be cut down in the cities and towns, while massive infrastructure and jobs would be witnessed in the grassroots.
7. The synergy between the Central and Northern Senatorial zone: The Northern and Central Senatorial zones bent on power shift, have vowed to come together to beat the south. With the two top contenders, Senator Bala Mohammed and incumbent, Mohammed Abubakar from the south, the southern votes are set to be split, giving NNPP which is fielding a Northern and Central joint ticket a huge advantage.
8. The Adamu Muazu Factor: Even though he was rumoured to have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Muazu is yet to officially speak on it or issue any statement against or in support of it. Ambassador Adamu was a key actor during Muazu’s regime and contributed to his unrivalled records in development of Bauchi State. He was an SA, a commissioner and a secretary to the state government. In fact, it was him who handed over to Yuguda in 2007 on behalf of the state government. He was and is still very much trusted by Muazu, a plus that might work in his favour days to the election.
9. The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) gubernatorial candidate ahead of the 2019 general elections Ambassador Shuaibu Ahmed Adamu has vowed that his party will be using Bauchi State as a launch pad for good governance, which will subsequently spread to other states in the Federation.

He expressed this while granting an interview to newsmen on Sunday.

According to him, governance that will reflect true dividends of democracy is what the party seeks to entrench when it wins the Bauchi State gubernatorial polls bilked for March 2 alongside others in the country.

Ambassador Adamu pointed out that while he served under the administration of former governor of the state, ADAMU Mua’zu, the state was a leading light in terms of infrastructural development.

“When His Excellency, Adamu Mua’zu was governor, he was commuted to uplifting the standard of living of people all over the state and was very successful at it.

“No one that served under him was ever harassed or accused of corruption even after he left office,” he said.

While decrying the deplorable condition of the state under the present administration, he lamented that so many are jobless and hungry, as a result of maladministration.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the 2019 general elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has denied a Lagos based coalition, claiming to be supporting him.

In a statement issued by his SA Youth and Support Groups, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, Atiku said such faceless groups are being sponsored by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

"The false alarm and outrageous fake news being exceptionally promoted by the agents of mass failure and hopelessness called the All Progressive Congress (APC) has multiplied unabated.

"The allegation of non funding and lack of campaign materials from the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organization credited to a faceless group parading itself as the Coalition of All Atiku Support Groups and signed by Mike Iheanyi is a further example of stacks of figments of demented imaginations consistent with the APC and it's leadership gravely rejected nationwide," it stated.

Ambassador Abbas said that the false alarm bears no semblance in any shape or form to the very vibrant and festive mood generated in the PDP camp nationwide.

"It falls within the narrative of the APC who claimed they have bankrupted the PDP and His Excellency Atiku Abubakar GCON and as such poked holes in our abilities to rally and mobilize our constituents.

"It's pertinent to inform all and sundry that Atiku Abubakar is a shining star whose stature and leadership extends beyond party affiliations. Most Nigerians have taken it upon themselves to campaign and mobilize without fear or reproach.

"It is also clear that our campaign and message of rescue and renewal ; hope and happiness has reverberated throughout Nigeria. It is called Atikulate. The outcome of trusting that Nigeria will work again with Atiku Abubakar on account of his experience, exposure and expertise in managing men and material resources for sustainable growth and development.

"It is apparent that in the days ahead, the drowning APC will muster its last fangs of threats, fake news, oppression and tyranny to place fear in the hearts and minds of the electorate. The International community has been called upon to pressurize President Muhammad Buhari to keep to promise made to British Prime Minister in 2018 to conduct free and fair elections as well as ensure liberty of his opponents.
The call was made in a statement signed by the President of the Concerned Nigerian Patriots For A Sustainable Future (CNPFSF), Adebola Eze Sakir, made available to newsmen on Sunday January 20, 2019.
“Furthermore we call on the international community to apply all possible pressure on President Buhari to keep his promise to the British Prime Minister in August 2018 and the Nigerian people to hold “free and fair elections” which includes the liberty of his opponents to stand freely and without any form of pretences or artificial hindrances,” it stated.

The group expressed fears that President Buhari was bent on introducing the tragic years of his military regime, by arresting political opponents.
“Instead we have received top information by the Buhari regime to reenact the tragic years of his miltitary tyranny of 1983-1985 by arresting and incarcerating his perceived enemies to include leaders of the opposition, traditional rulers, members of the organized labour, journalists, social media interactors and Nigerian judges,” it stressed.

It explained that the signs are crystal clear, hence the need to call on the need for international community to intervene.
“The signs are crystal. A few days ago, Lai Mohammed , Information Minister boasted that the former Vice President and the main opposition candidate in the upcoming elections Mr Atiku Abubakar will be arrested on charges bothering on alleged N156 million fraud perpetrated in the erstwhile Bank PHB in 2009. The delegation met with the five survivors at the Plateau Specialist Hospital in Jos and expressed satisfaction with the medical staff for taking due and proper care of the victims. The hospital and rehabilitation fees were fully settled on the orders of Atiku.

Chairman of the Green Party of Nigeria (GPN), Kaduna State, Ahmed Mohammed Zagi has expressed optimism that in the 2019 general elections, his party has concluded arrangements to shock the big names, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the polls.

He stated this while speaking at the primaries, held in Kaduna at the weekend.

Zagi said that consensus was adopted for its voting for aspirants presented.

In an acceptance speech on behalf of the candidates, Dr. Olakunke A.O. the Senatorial candidate for Kaduna Central, said that they have accepted to be the party's flag bearers at the 2019 general elections.

He said they are ready to contest with other parties and make the party win the polls.

In the vote of thanks, the candidate for Igabi Federal Constituency in the House of Reps, Honourable  Sani Abdulkadir  (Dakaci) thanked all the delegates.

He promised that they would work hard to fulfill their promises.

He assured that GPN will take over power in 2019 and end the sufferings of Nigerians.

Kaduna North Reps Candidate Ibrahim Abdulkadir Kuso in an interview with newsmen, said that they will bring about the real change.

He promised to impact on the lives of the youth if he emerges winner. He said they would work with their conscience and the fear of God.

He said he was happy to emerge candidate of the GPN for House of Reps.

At the end of the primaries, Ahmed Mohammed Zagi was adopted as its gubernatorial candidate.

Malam Tukur Zubairu, Adekunle Okuwafemi Akonsifinu and Philip Dauda  Ladan were voted by consensus, as Senatorial candidates for Kaduna North, Central and South respectively.

Sani Abdulkadir emerged the candidate for Igabi Constituency House of Representatives and Ibrahim Abdulkadir would be flying the party's flag for Kaduna North Reps.

Sichen Timothy Sodangi would be contesting for Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, while Abubakar Kabiru Makarfi would be on the ballot for Makarfi Constituency.

He said that for the past three years that he has been in charge, they have competed keenly.

"We have never been the tails but heads, we have always taken the lead. For the past three years, we have come to Ilorin and returned to Kaduna with better records.

"I want to thank you that you have not let situation dampen your spirit, but we have had a resounding victory.

"I want to thank you all, even as I congratulate your handlers. I also want to thank those that have ensured your welfare and good state of mind, the medical team," he added.

He assured them that for making Kaduna State proud, happy and to rejoice at a time like this, as they return gallantly,  he will make sure that the needful is done with every effort within his ability.
