First appeal to your govt to let us manage our own resources because part of that "allocation" is our duly recognized revenue and resource. Rather than starting top to down, let's start with bottom to top. You cannot take what's ours, yet you don't want us to take the allocation due to us... nonsense.
Which government? The same government you are part of right now. Did you vote in last last elections? Igbos don't need to participate in any election such as house of rep, senate, governorship, and local election if you don't want to be part of Nigeria. Just stop to participate in whatever we do in Nigeria so that the government can start to take you serious. I promise you if you do what I just suggested, everyone will see that you mean business. Better still, declare another and let's see who wins.

me_for_you: This isreali flag and the man dancing azonto picture has benn here since time immemorial. D Ops upload it whenever they mention biafra. And I can't remember isreal supporting biafra but tanzania and haiti did for sure. If igbos want to go their seperate ways, then why don't u let us go? Is this marriage 'of the irreconciables forged by lord lugard and named by lord lugard's girlfriend' by force? U hate igbos, call them all sorts of names, yet u don't want us to go our seperate ways. Haba
Heck! Start refusing government alocations so everyone can start taking you serious. You want the Presidency of Nigeria, at the same time you want your own country (Biafra). Make up your minds because no one knows what you really want. May God purnish whoever not letting you go your own way. Annoying ranting!
Politics / Re: Massob Members Protest In Onitsha by automaticcarzz: 3:37am On May 15, 2013
Flying Israeli flag in Nigeria? What a shame! What do these people want? They want the Presidency of Nigeria to be handed to them on a silver platter, at the same time they also want their own country (Biafra). I have an advise for you: start rejecting allocations from federal government, then everyone can start to believe you mean business of having your own country. Untill then, status quo continues.

You are just a small-minded bigot. Your own past posts clearly bear you out as hateful, spiteful man. I am reading them as we speak, and all I see are insults to those who oppose you, blatant dislike for anything Igbo, hatred for Ojukwu whose shoe lace you could not tie, and hatred for Niger Delta people in general, including Jonathan.
Oh yeah! The same Jonathan I campaigned for and my entire family voted for. He has failed miserably and must go in 2015. I don't support mediocrity.

Ojukwu indeed! Is that all you saw in my post? Ojukwu fought a senseless war he couldn't win, then ran away. Why he took his people to senseless war?

Again, I repeat, only iiddiiootts maintain their ignorance even when corrected. Keep it up.

Who else but an iiddiioott infers that all Igbos they have met (including their girl friend) communicate in a certain way and seem immature, except for one they met online.
I went through your posts of the past and I can conclude you need mental help. There is so much hate of anyone who is not of the same tribe as you. Seek help little man!

Rape is rape. It doesn't matter who gets raped little man. If Igbo man raped and Igbo girl, does it make it okay? You need help to cure your problems. I went through your posts and I can conclude you really need mental health help.

Just an opinion of the way political discourse should be. It shouldn't be about insults and rancour. There is way to disagree and still be civil. You've done just that.

Did you see? Molestation is not monopolized to Hausa/Fulani alone. Yoruba, Igbo, Efik and so on had done that before. There are bad people in every tribes and there are good people in every tribes.

That's a myopic comment. How many Igbos do you know?[/quote. A lof of Igbos. My first girlfriend in New Jersey was an Imo girl but na story for another day. I just can't stand people who are intolerant; Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa. I rarely see and Igbo on nairaland who respects others. It is all about attacks and insults about other tribes. I know some Yorubas who are also bigots but not on the same level.

They don't seem as tolerant to opposing religions because, for them, those religions have come to be associated with arch-rival ethnic groups. Couple this with how homogeneous religion is in the SE and Core North.

When Igbos think Muslim, they actually think of Hausa-Fulanis.
When Hausa-Fulanis think Christian, they are actually thinking of Igbos.

Dig deeper and you will see that this is actually the root of the matter.

This is unlike the Yorubas who have had Christianity and Islam equally ingrained in their collective psyche and culture, and thus do not see as much "tribal" connotation along those lines.

I still maintain that exceptions will be made for an Igbo Muslim in the SE, as well as an Hausa-Fulani Christian in the North.

Especially if the interests of the people are clarified and communicated
For whatever reason, you are so different from other Igbos with the way you communicate. I like the level of your maturiy. You are highly intelligent too.

Before Nwabueze dreamt of becoming an official in Lagos, a Yoruba had been in Enugu and also in Abia

Please google Festus Adedayo and Enugu State. This happened between 1998 and 2007.

Also a man from Edo was a high ranking govt official in Imo State during the regime of Ohakim
I have to check on that. If true, that's fantstic gesture.

There have been public officers of other ethnic extractions in the SE. Besides, Lagos is a highly heterogeneous state now (due to migration). Some "token" appointments are to be expected.

Although we are talking about governorship, which (for even Lagos) is a stretch.
Token appointment? Post of a commissioner is not a bad start for someone who is of different tribe. Those public officials who served in the SE area were sent there by military regime. The apointment of an Igbo man as a commissioner that you called "token" wouldn't have happened any where in SE.

When I think of it, I don't think that South Easterners will have a problem with an Igbo Muslim being governor. You would think so, but I think state of origin, ethnic roots, etc come first.

I have heard that a considerable number of Igbo Muslims are present in Ebonyi State, for instance.

Ditto for Northern (i.e. Hausa-Fulani) Christians.
Igbos and Hausas are not tolerance when it comes to religion. It just not right to do that in a secular state as Nigeria.

The bolded is not adequately supported by the rest of your paragraph.

Why? Because there is nothing you describe that cannot be applied to other ethnic groups. Several ethnic groups have and will vote for presidents from other groups if promise is present.

We are talking about something much more localized.

I am yet to see any indication that a Non-Yoruba can win governorship in a SW state.

Where you are likely to find personalities of diverse backgrounds ruling are in the heterogeneous states such as Delta, Rivers, some parts of the Middle-Belt, etc.
No one is preventing them from contesting. I hope you are not thinking they should be handed an elective offices without election. Some SE believe someone should just let them rule but it is not possible. You have to beat everyone else. Mind you, there is an Igbo commissioner(Nwabueze) serving in Fashola's governmeent. That couldn't have happened in Anambra or anywhere in SE.

Yorubas have significant numbers of both Christians and Muslims (almost evenly split), so this doesn't say much.

As opposed to the highly muslim "Core North" and majority Christian South East.

With that out of the way....a more apt test of tolerance in the SW would be to ask if a Non-Yoruba can hold office.
Yorubas are so tolerant that Igbos and Hausa would be allowed to contest in SW if they have something to offer and ready to campaign for it. Yorubas are not blinded by religion or ethnicity. Don't forget it was Yorubas who mostly fought for Jonathan when Yar'adua was sick and eventually died. But now we are being called bad names for pointing out failures in Jonathan's administration. We value everyone and believe everyone is unique. But don't take Yorubas openess for stupidity. It was Yorubas who mostly fought Abacha regime. Obasanjo's nightmares were Yorubas (Gani Fawehinmi, Falana, Falae and co). Yorubas stand for good governance whether the President or Governor is Ijaw, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Efik....

Sincere 9gerian: To be fair I think the ACN governors in most of the southwest states have outperformed their PDP predecessors. But the performance of the Lagos state govt is not commensurate with its resources. In fact, I think the ACN under-performed in Lagos. But for Osun, Oyo, Ekiti and Ogun, I think the ACN governors are doing far better than their PDP predecessors. The former PDP governors- Olusegun Agagun, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Akala and Gbenga Daniel- seriously under-performed.

Several factors may be responsible for this noticeable difference. Most importantly is that during the reign of the former PDP governors, people's vote NEVER counted. What mattered and what determined who gets elected was whether or not one was in the good books of the president. But things have since changed. Elections are now a fair reflection of the wishes of the people. Consequently, present day politicians now scamper for "achievements" to show for their stay in office
You dey yarn truth for the first time in your life. I guess you haven't been paid your April salary by PDP, so you decided to turn against them.

Foolish man you are for trying to decieve unsuspecting Nigerians to believe they can now travel to South Africa without visa. How many Nigerians have diplomatic passport? The answer is few.
